The best restaurant in the Bailgate, possibly all of Lincoln. I suggest trying the “fillet de novillo a la pimienta”

It was excellent.... turned up with out booking and despite it being busy they made room for 5 of us , brilliant....... excellent service , friendly helpful staff , superb food and lovely restaurant/venue. In addition the toilets where immaculate ( 9 year old daughters review as she is the expert on these things ) excellent value for money with loads of choice 👏

It was two of our birthdays. 9 guests. Everything was perfect. Delicious food , yummy dessert, fantastic friendly staff , great atmosphere, lots of Shouts of Ole. We both received a complimentary slice of Tarta with a candle , the staff , friends and Dinners sang Happy Birthday , which was MAGIC. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough . We all had a lovely meal. Great value , altogether special. Oh and we all got a double cheek kiss from the Boss. My friend joined the queue for seconds 🥰🥰🥰🥰💙💙💙💙 Thank you so much

Excellent tapas restaurant, serving authentic Spanish food, the staff are really friendly and very attentive, tapas is nice and varied, all cooked fresh to order. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. You aren’t rushed to finish your food and leave the table, ole ole is a great place to eat and socialise with friends and family

If you are Gluten Free you are in for a treat! The menu is 90% GF and the food is excellent! I hadn’t been before and everything that was recommended was incredibly tasty and full of flavour. Excellent service, very friendly happy staff and overall great atmosphere to enjoy yourself with friends 🤩 can’t wait to return 🤩

Everything is great in here. The staff are super helpful. They make sure that you are well taken care of. The food is great. The service is quick. They have their system so it makes it quicker. The atmosphere is pretty. The price is right. They really do deserve the high rating. You really do need reservations.

Amazing all round really. The service was exceptional. The owner was lovely, the wait staff were attentive and very polite and seemed to really enjoy and take pride in their jobs. The food was absolutely spot on, especially the cauliflower with honey and almonds is to die for. Thank you very much everyone. Highly recommend.

A beautiful meal and atmosphere como siempre here. A fantastic birthday treat in one of my favourite places with my favourite food! Authentic and tasty! The sangria is phenomenal too by the way 🍷 And thanks for my free bottle opener aswell! 🎉

Great menu and lots of good wines which were rather expensive for per glass. Food was absolutely delicious and very hot. Atmosphere was lovely and had a friendly vibe. Waitresses and waiters were very kind and helpful. Definitely going back again.

On our way back from Lincoln we stopped here for dinner and gosh was it a good idea. Staff were super friendly and managed to squeeze us in even without a booking (would advise to book as they’re very busy). We ordered several different tapas which we all enjoyed. All the food was super tasty and well cooked. We were all really satisfied with our meal. The bread basket was a great start, freshly baked and still warm. The croquettes and the seafood paella were my two favourites. 100% recommend.

Fantastic tapas bar, we were very warmly welcomed, staff really friendly. The food was superb, I especially liked the Cauliflower (coliflor al horno). Great atmosphere, really buzzing vibes even at 5:30 pm. An authentic Spanish experience right in the heart of Lincoln. Loved it!

Wonderful welcome, authentic dishes, very delicious, the food tastes amazing! Something changed in the kitchen because it was ten times better than in previous occasions, when it was already good! Excellent and quick service. A bit pricey though, but normal for the UK and for the quality 🙂 I insist, the food is really, really, really authentic and sooo good! Word of a Spanish living in Spain 👌🏻🇪🇸

It was my first time to Spanish restaurant... It was good and nice experience. First I loved the atmosphere, the place, small, cozy and warm not loud at all really quiet and I had nice time with my partner. The food was really tasty, original Spanish, Mediterranean cuisine. Not too much spicy and big selection of wines and fantastic sangria. Try the second set menu, I recommend that and the eggplant... ! The service was ok and fast!

It’s not often I’m inclined to leave 5 stars but our visit was faultless!! The food was delicious, and the portions generous, prices good value too. The staff were so friendly and very efficient. The restaurant was packed so the atmosphere was great but it didn’t mean a wait for our food at all, we couldn’t believe how quick it was. The sangria was delicious, so refreshing! Can’t wait to visit again!

Had a few days in Lincoln for my wife’s birthday. Managed to walk in about 6:30pm on a damp Wednesday in February. It was busy. The restaurant has a large room, but shaped so it was divided up into areas. It’s buzzy and busy. I felt we were lucky to get a table. There was three of us, had 5 dishes, wine, pedro ximenez with dessert. All was good, service excellent, I was pleasantly surprised that all the five dishes came at once. Tapas restaurants sometimes bring them sporadically. I’d certainly recommend it and would go again.

Came here from reading the reviews we were not disappointed, delicious food, great staff, busy place full of atmosphere. We found 6 dishes was a perfect amount, we starved all day though, no starter or desert. Our highest opinion in our family is “was it a plate licker” I could have licked all 6 of them, very yummy, will go again soon for sure. PS thank you so much for the corks - picture included.

The best tapas in Lincoln. We’re regular customers here, and are continually impressed by ole ole’s. We went for our anniversary meal on NYE and the special set menu was delicious. Service is always friendly and welcoming, atmosphere is busy which is always a good sign, and the food is ALWAYS fantastic. We’re already planning our next visit!

What better way to end a long day at work than with food so good it makes you forget everything else? We drove an hour from Scunthorpe after hearing great things about Ole Ole — and it was absolutely worth it. The jamón ibérico alone justified the trip, with such richness in its taste. The pancetta con chimichurri was simply delicious, and both the paella and patatas bravas were spot on. The datiles con bacon were irresistible — you just kept craving more. But even though the food was exceptional, what truly made this place stand out for me was the warmth of the staff. Luis, thank you so much for being such a wonderful host and a gem of a person — from recommending dishes to showing us around the restaurant and introducing the amazing team that makes this place what it is. Tisa, thank you for introducing me to datiles con bacon! Adam from the kitchen and all the lovely people there — I send you my love and best wishes. Thank you for a wonderful evening. I can’t wait to come back soon.

One of my favourite places to go with my friends and family. Lovely atmosphere, great hospitality and delicious food. I especially recommend the steak strips in the very creamy peppercorn sauce and meatballs. Olives were marinated with great flavour. Had a nice chat with our waiter who looked after us and even treated me to a birthday cake. Well done to Amador and his team.

First time coming here and the food was fresh, delicious and really good portions (I forgot to take pictures of the food when it first came out so some of these dishes are half full). The staff were extremely polite, helpful and very attentive. We'll definitely come back next time we're in the area!

What a fantastic place. The food was amazing. The staff were very attentive. Would highly recommend the food and the venue. Went with my work colleagues, I will definitely be returning with my husband. Thank you

This place came up on a dog friendly guide and I’m pleased it did! We were very lucky to get a table as it was very busy and the food was top quality! I would definitely come back the next time in Lincoln.

We went here for our daughter’s 17th Birthday. Well it was great. We were cautious not to order too much and we took Archie her vegan boyfriend. Who I love. There was something for everyone and Mike and I shared dessert as they walked romantically through nearby Dawber gardens where Archie years ago constructed the willow arch alongside his father. The restaurant has done remarkably well for itself. The location is excellent. They have really made it work. People go especially. You could either splash right out or go skimpy. So it is available for every budget. The staff were plentiful and charming. Bro there’s too

This beautiful place is the perfect example of how you “do” a restaurant and hospitality. We have visited every few months for the past 3 years or so, on weekday evenings, bank holidays, weekends, lunchtimes - the restaurant is always bustling and very often almost full! And yet on every single occasion, the service has been outstanding, and the food fabulous and flavourful. On the incredibly rare occasion that something hasn’t been perfect (I think someone forgot a beer once, oh no!), we’ve asked and it’s been put right straight away, with no fuss. It’s really consistent here which is so important to us. The service is warm, down to earth but professional. We know we can trust the team at Ole Ole to look after us for either special occasions, or off the cuff “I don’t fancy cooking tonight” moments! A special shoutout to Jess, Amador Jnr and Luis, who remember us each time, ask how we are and make fantastic recommendations for special dishes we’d like, the best Pedro Ximénez sherry, and where to travel in Spain to sample the finest tortilla… We have had some tough times recently with family members having cancer treatment, experiencing hearing loss in our thirties and some days of being on crutches. Every time we have asked if we could be seated at a specific table or could do something differently to help us, this has been carried out sympathetically and without delay, with zero fuss made. Also, a big thank you to the team for being so inclusive - I only mentioned hearing loss once, but I’ve noticed that now, everyone automatically speaks up if they need to turn their face away from me, and we often get seated at a quieter table without asking. This is really thoughtful and comes across so naturally, without making a big scene. It’s greatly appreciated. Thank you for making us feel at home and for caring so passionately about what you do. And for all the delicious paella. Olé!

Searched and found this restaurant while staying in Lincoln for the night. So pleased - we had a delicious meal & excellent service, great atmosphere. Maybe just could have done with the dishes coming out at intervals rather than all at the same time as by the time we got to a couple they had cooled down. But we still thoroughly enjoyed the meal and evening.

Wow! Amazing place, delicious food and drinks. From the staff to the atmosphere... Top notch! Cozy place, very traditional. It's not just "another one" it's actually THE ONE. Give a try 👌

One of the best meals I’ve ever had out. I had my doubts because I’m a vegetarian and tapas always seems like it’s full of meat but their menu is amazing. We had so much food to choose from, everything was full to the brim with flavour and I tried things I had never had before. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented - the garlic dipping sauce for the bread is incredible. The food came quickly, the service was fantastic and friendly, and at the end of the meal we were given complimentary caramel vodka shots which were amazing. 10/10 guys you are amazing

Brilliant food as always. Definitely the place to go in Lincoln for food. Tasty, reliable, everyone is always nice and welcoming. Been coming here for years, never had a bad meal, portion sizes are bigger than they've ever been. Highly highly recommend if you are in the Lincoln area and you're looking for the BEST restaurant in Lincoln and also Lincolnshire.

Absolutely delicious place to eat! My partner surprised me by booking Olé Olé; as grateful as I was, I thought 'just Tapas' - this was a huge mistake! It was one of the nicest food outings I've had in some time - and will definitely return in the future. The restaurant is owned and run by a Spanish family, this means you can expect an authentic Spanish tapas dining experience - including drinks (sangria) and décor (Spanish guitars/sombreros). I didn't take any pics inside as it was a little crowded and I didn't want to freak anyone out. We had 3 tapas dishes each and to be honest, perhaps one too many, but each dish had something unique about it - I didn't regret even one (especially not the cauliflower 🤤). The dessert was overkill but what great meal doesn't end with something sweet 😜 again, authentic Spanish desserts! The manager was a legend; keeping it brief, they wanted to move us to accommodate a party of 6, which along with a huge apology came free drinks and dessert!!! That's customer service - everybody was a winner. Already looking forward to my next visit to Olé Olé.

Such a thrill to find this gem. All of the dishes we ordered, which all happened to be vegan, looked, smelt and tasted amazing. Lincoln was such a beautiful city, eating here was the cherry on top. Bravo!

Honest to god the first good food since I live in England. Such a taste , the staff extremely friendly and nice. I think that is just amazing place to eat. We actually used the meal for two options and the price at the end was great as well , managed to taste 8 meals but to be honest I would just do with the bread from the starters just out of this world 🌎🌎🌎🌎

Great atmosphere and friendly, welcoming service. I would have given 5🌟 for the food. It was super speedy getting to the table and was quite delicious, but I forgot to ask for no parsley, and it was covered in it…

L

The food was so good I didn't take photos until after we'd finished everything.... Would really recommend the calamari, Andalusian fried fish (kind of like subtly spiced/smoky fish and chips style fish with light batter), the little chorizo and garlic prawns. The cafe bonbon with condensed milk is also a very nice dessert drink. I would definitely visit again next time I'm in the area. Prices also very reasonable around £40pp including alcoholic drinks, sharing board and all those tapas and dessert! Atmosphere is also relaxed but you can still dress up if you want to make a date night of it.

Very nice and friendly service. The food was very good and tasted like in Spain. The interior design also added to the nice atmosphere. My boyfriend and I eat at many different restaurants and we were not disappointed this time either. I highly recommend this place!

Large family run Tapas restaurant at The Lawns. Absolutely stunning visit from start to finish. We've eaten a lot of tapas in our time and this place surpassed anything we've tried in the UK. Large selection of small plates and sides with a specials menu too. Excellent selection of regional beers, wines and spirits including lots of Spanish gins! The food was near perfect with generous portion sizes, we had five plates between 2 and that was plenty! Quick, attentive and polite service, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

WOW WOW WOW! We came over this place just looking on the Internet at places to eat in Lincoln. We decided we would have lunch here and booked a table for 1pm. They did not answer so left a voice message and they contacted me the next day to confirm the booking. We had 4 tapas between two of us and that was more than enough for us we certainly left full. The food was amazing tasted out of this world and cooked to perfection. They also have a specials board for the day which had rabbit on so I had this and it did not disappoint. If your looking for somewhere to go and love tapas then this is the place to be.

Beautiful food, great atmosphere and staff that really care about the food! We walked in on a Saturday and managed to get a table but definitely book ahead! There was a queue after us. firstly the staff were brilliant and friendly, my friend has an allergy so the manager came over with the allergy menu and went through all the dishes. He knows the menu incredibly well and just showed so much passion about the food and quality. he even told us he's visited the orchard they get the cider from. And then the food arrived and it was just absolutely delicious, portions are very generous, I'd say 2-3 each, we have 5 between 2 people and it was perfect. The croquettes were my favourite and I'd definitely recommend them! If I'm ever back in Lincoln I'd definitely be going back!

It is my husband’s birthday & we have come to Lincoln for 2 nights. We were going to a Thai restaurant and when we spoke to a lovely lady in a jewellers on steep Hill , she recommended that we went to Ole Ole . Oh my word, I’m so glad we did. The service, food & atmosphere was fantastic. We chatted to the owner about football unfortunately 🤭 I would 💯 recommend not only to stay in Lincoln, but to visit Ole Ole for a fabulous experience. For a Tuesday night it was heaving 🥳

M

Popped in for a glass of wine. Two hours later we’d sampled the best tapas we’ve ever had outside of Spain and right up there with the best of Spain! All the staff are happy, friendly and professional and clearly love what they do. This is a fabulous place. The wine list is superb too. If you are in Lincoln this is a must visit restaurant.

Ok! So I don’t ever review places! However since eating at ole ole I have decided that this is hands down the best place I have ever eaten out for food in my life! And I have travelled a lot of Europe in my van! The food is unreal! Perfectly cooked, seasoned and creatively amazing! Cannot be beaten. On top the staff are attentive, willing to have banter along with a top notch service! I will be coming back to Lincoln. Not for the historic town and beautiful views. But for ole ole’s amazing food and atmosphere! Until next time !!!

This restaurant is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Lincolnshire! It’s our favourite place to visit for amazing food and drink! We have never had a bad bit of food and there’s always different things to try! The staff are so friendly, accommodating and genuine…we went to order 8 dishes between 2 of us and the staff member politely suggested that we may find this too much which was really helpful and shows that they’re not about selling as much food as possible - you can’t fault the service! The restaurant itself is lovely and the Spanish decor is great! Will always come back to Ole Ole whenever we’re in Lincoln, it’s truly the best!

E
Emily Jackson

We held our wedding reception here and the service and food was incredible. From the moment of enquiry right up to the wedding day, every interaction with Anna and the team was amazing. We couldn’t fault them! Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how amazing the food was, and we couldn’t agree more. The team were kind enough to host us in a private room and decorate the venue with all our decor, so I had absolutely nothing to worry about - we turned up on the day and my vision for the wedding had come to life! Thank you so much!! We can’t wait to return for a date night next time we’re in the city.

Awesome time at Olé Olé. Managed to squeeze me and a fellow el matador in for a late tea on a Saturday. We put full trust in Henry for our selections and boy did mi amigo do well. Tasty food, fantastico staff! I will return and I recommend others visit too!

So lovely of them to fit us in without a booking. Truly fantastic food, generous portions too. It was a fabulous place to eat! Everything we had tasted amazing. Super service. Had the special festive menu

M

We had a very enjoyable dinner here a few days back. The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated, but it can get quite loud and busy during the evenings. The food was very nice overall, although some dishes could have been more flavourful. The desserts in particular were to die for. Although this is a tapas place, the portions are quite generous and filling, so I would stick with the recommended 2-3 dishes/person if ordering individually.

A
Adam S

We had a lovely meal here on a Saturday night. Very popular destination, and they were very busy. Slight delays in service (to be expected) but the food was served quickly. It was efficient, but not relaxing as the staff were sprinting past the table every 15 seconds to keep up with the pace. Had 5 tapas between us and it was very tasty. The vegetable rice was very good and the seasoning on their olives was very good as well. But the steak and pork belly tapas was a little overcooked and lacked the wow factor we'd expect given the price. Also, be aware that they encourage tips, and their payment system gets you to select from 10, 15, 20% or 'other amount'. Felt a little as though this was an expectation instead of being our own decision on whether it was spectacular service or not. Either way, great food, but if we go again we might avoid peak times.

A
Alan Barker

Rather underwhelmed. Visited on a Thursday early evening and was reasonably busy, which is a good sign. Service was reasonably prompt and drinks were with us quickly while we chose from the menu. The service between ordering and receiving the food was quick, but the portion sizes are somewhat meagre. The seasonal veg paella had a few peas, a bean, a chunk of sweetcorn and a couple of pieces of carrot. Overall the food was okay, but not "blow your socks off" great. Given the portion size, lack of "wow" factor and price per head of £35 per person, we wouldn't choose to return here.

L
Lisa L

Buzzing, bright, cheery restaurant with friendly attentive staff. Hubby and I shared 4 vegan tapas dishes which I loved and he wasn't so keen on (maybe my choices) although we both felt the vegan paella was a little bland. The alcohol free sangria was very tasty, but hubby didn't like the orange pieces cut up in small chunks and ended up earting one. Good value using the lunch deal. Would go back and choose our own dishes next time.

P
Paige Evelyn

We booked here for 2:30 today. Bearded Spanish speaking manager was surely and aggressive. Left without trying the food which a shame as the other reviews look good. This is the second time we have walked out without even being seated because of the managers attitude.
