Definitely a true example of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” At first glance, the outside of the establishment didn’t seem very appealing but the moment you walk in, everything changes. The décor, the music, and the overall vibe wrap around you and make you feel like you’re somewhere that truly cares. Cares about the service they’re providing, cares about the food they’re preparing, and cares about the drinks they’re crafting. The menu offers something for everyone. I’d describe the cuisine as Mexican fusion not your typical Mexican dishes, but you can absolutely taste the spices and bold flavors throughout. I had a delicious pasta with chorizo and shrimp that was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. The portions were generous, and my drink was superb. And the chicharrónes? A must try appetizer!
Went there for our Anniversary dinner. It was a great experience. It is upscale mexican fusion bougie place. The ambience of restaurant was very nice & staff/servers were really helpful. Their chef I have heard has very unique mexican fusion dishes that preserve the mexican flavors while blending with modern dishes. They also had placards & complimentary desserts for iur anniversary. We tried fried cauliflower - their famous app, steak & fish plate. The flavours were really awesome. You could experience all the flavours on your pallete. Also tried some cocktails - old fashioned: they nailed it! Try some of the hidden gem whiskeys from the last page of menu. Def recommend !
Truly a hidden gem in Livermore. We appreciate the service here and, even more, we appreciate the food that this establishment makes. Everything so far that we have ordered from our two visits have tasted really good. They have live music and paella night on Mondays. Reservations are strongly recommended according to our server. We will be here next time in a Monday 😊.
Outstanding! Everything was top-notch. My wife and I had the Chicharrón with Hatch Chile corn dip appetizer, the Beet Salad and the Agua Chile Ribeye. Finished off with the Peanut Butter Toffee Bar…….scrumptious! The live music was perfectly mellow and combined with the excellent ambiance. The lighting is perfect. The servers warm and very conscientious and best of all were the owners Eduardo and Blanca Posada warmly interacting with their guests.
Excellent service and outstanding customer care. The food was exquisite. The only suggestion would be to refine the cocktail preparation, but overall it’s a 5/5 experience. I look forward to coming back soon.
The food, service and ambience were top notch. The dishes were delicious, using fresh ingredients that were seasoned just right. The staff were very friendly and attentive. There are seating options both inside and out. They have live music on Sundays which was a nice touch to a lovely meal.
I am so happy I found this place! This is how I want to eat every day! Service and Cadillac Margarita were wonderful. Mahi Mahi fish tacos with watermelon salad are to die for! After that, the hazelnut crunch square with delicious light berry sauce, strawberries, and whole toasted hazelnuts was heaven. I will definitely be back for more of this! Came back today and had another Cadillac Margarita with the King Ranch Enchiladas and Roasted Beet Salad. So freaking delicious! 😋
Loved everything here especially their cauliflower! Great seating options and usually never crowded on the weekdays it seems. The owner is also very down to earth and friendly. The servers are very nice and cater well to groups. Highly recommend their watermelon appetizer and cauliflower. They have a really good selection of alcohol and non alcoholic beverages. Will definitely return!
Scheduled wine tasting in the area and searched the area for fine Mexican dining online — to not taste with an empty stomach. Read positive reviews at this restaurant and set a 12 pm lunch appointment for two. Was greeted courteously and seated promptly. The place was smartly decorated with warm Mexican embellishments with a wine room. Ordered the grilled shrimp guacamole appetizer and paired it with the burgundy Chardonnay. Very nice! The grilled shrimp was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The guacamole fresh and tasty. Ordered for my main, the amazing chicken enchilada paired with Albariño. Super delicious pairing. Will definitely come back again and taste the other dishes.
We had the best Wagyu beef!! Everything was delicious, everyone was very sweet and professional. We will be back.
The food here tastes fresh and delicious. The staff are very friendly and happy to serve the customer. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s nice to treat yourself every once in awhile. I always order their house Sangrita and King Ranch Chicken Enchiladas.
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious — both dishes we picked randomly and those we chose based on others' reviews. The service was also excellent. A wonderful dining experience overall. Highly recommend!
We were here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Made a reservation for a table of 3 for 745 pm, and we were early there by 720 p.m., and they were happy to take us in on a Friday night. It has seating options indoors and outdoors, too. The food and service were great. Didn't feel rushed at all, which usually happens on a Friday night during the peak hours. We ordered the cauliflower appetizer along with the watermelon salad. The sea bass dish and the poblano peppers with seasonal vegetables for the main course. The stuffed churros for the dessert was scrumptous, too .. highly recommend!

We went to Posa Alta Cocina on a late Saturday afternoon. We were celebrating our anniversary. We were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant was busy. There was a large table at the back of the restaurant and a table of 6 celebrating a birthday. There were also several tables for 2 that were dining as well but the very professional waiters handled the crowd with ease. We started with Cadillac Margaritas... delicious!! We also ordered Chicarones. Oh my, they were so good accompanied by an amazing cheese sauce with corn. We shared the beef fajitas, also very delicious. All in all it was an amazing afternoon of drinks and eats. We are looking forward to paella night on Monday! Can't wait!!!

Tremendous service and the food was perfect. Thank you for the special birthday meal. Our family enjoyed it!

Southwestern / Mexican place with a flair. The ambiance was simple but nice, the menu had a nice small set of (good) options. The staff was helpful - though the menu said no substitutions, the staff did make some exceptions to accommodate the vegetarians in our group. The food was great - the flavors, the freshness were all just right without being overly heavy or cheesy. The appetizers, entrees, dessert, the sauces - all of them were delicious. Loved how everything felt light and fresh.
The atmosphere is really the show stopper here. It's amazing what they've been able to create in such an unsuspecting location. The service was also absolutely fabulous and the food was good. We loved the cauliflower and elote. The Enchiladas were good but if you put the elote over the top, they're great! This is a perfect date night vibe: beautiful and romantic! 💖
We had such a great experience at Posada! The food was so good—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed night out. A special shout-out to our waitress, Dominique, who was incredibly nice and super attentive the entire evening. She really made the meal even better. Highly recommend this place!
We have always really enjoyed the food at Posada, and the employees are incredibly friendly. Their decor has continued to improve and while still in an old strip mall, really feels like the nice restaurant it is and not like a shopping center eatery. We have eaten here a lot, and enjoy their fish tacos most of all, but recently went to their Monday paella and music night, and that was amazing.

Excellent food and service for lunch. We ordered the hamachi ceviche and Posada’s signature chicharrones with Mexican strewn corn to start. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful and the chicharrones in combination with the savory corn dip was a great texture combination. We’ve never had the latter together before and it was a nice surprise. We then had the king enchiladas and parm crusted Baja tacos which were both delicious and perfectly cooked as well. Next time we might try the other fish tacos on the menu that come with the watermelon salad as we saw a bunch of other customers order that. We would definitely go back for another lunch and also try their dinner menu.
Review for Posada Alta Cocina Posada Alta Cocina offers a wonderful fine dining experience with a beautiful ambiance, both indoors and outdoors, that’s perfect for a quiet family meal or a romantic evening for couples. We started with the guacamole shrimp appetizer, which was fresh and flavorful—a fantastic way to kick off the meal. The fish tacos and beef steak were well-prepared, rich in authentic flavors, and left a lasting impression. The only downside was the Posada special drink, which wasn’t strained well, affecting the texture. However, the staff quickly replaced it with an excellent Margarita, showcasing their commitment to customer satisfaction. Overall, a great spot for a refined Mexican dining experience!
This restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a welcoming atmosphere and ample indoor and outdoor seating options. They have a respectable assortment of wines and scotches, although their cocktail selection is somewhat limited. As widely acclaimed in reviews, their watermelon salad is exceptionally delicious. You can order it in regular or single portions, and I recommend the single portion as it pairs well with other entrees like tacos. Alternatively, you might want to consider their Caesar salad. The Seabass tacos are my personal favorite, and they are served with the mouthwatering watermelon salad, making for an amazing combination. The chicken tacos are also fantastic and are accompanied by Mexican rice, white beans, and salsa. Overall, this is a place you should definitely check out. Enjoy your visit and have a great time
We drove from San Jose to try Posada, and it didn't disappoint. The food was very tasty and the drinks were great. I ordered the Steak Aguachile, and my wife got the New Mexico short rib enchiladas rojas. For dessert we had the Almond chocolate cake. To drink, I got a brandy to open up my appetite and then a Rioja wine to pair with my steak. She had the Niña Fresa drink that has rum in it, very good. The waiter came by many times to check up on us, removing plates and offering more drink and dessert options. We had a nice experience here and wouldn't mind making the drive again.

Not your hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. This one’s more on the fancier/pricier side. You are immediately greeted with super polite hostess. Then the super friendly server comes and helps with the order. BUT the food is BLAH!! This is not an authentic Mexican food. It’s aimed more towards people who cannot handle flavors but want to eat something different. After the server overly hyped the menu and the dishes, we ordered the chips n guacamole to start with. I have never in my life had such a boring guacamole. It was so plain and bland that I had to add lime on it to make it more edible. Could have just eaten an avocado on its own. There was chicken quesadillas, which was okay nothing special again. Then comes the super hyped dish by the server. She literally kept talking about it for couple of minutes that how people get extra spoons to have the sauce of this dish because it is that amazing and it’s their signature most popular dish…….it was, King Ranch Enchiladas - the most boring dish. It felt like literally, they have emptied the cheese sauce from a bottle jar onto the plate and warmed it up. There were three enchiladas, which was very flavorless again. The worst part of all they served it with some sort of rice and corn on the side and guess what? The rice was uncooked and raw. It was not even chewable. We had to spit it out because the rice was undone. When we complained to the waitress, she went back to the Chef to talk about it and guess what the Chef said? Oh the rice must have gone hard because it’s cooked in butter. I mean really? That is the most absurd reason/logic I’ve ever heard. Instead of apologizing for your mistake in cooking and serving raw food to us you are telling me that the rice got hard by cooking in the butter. I am sorry that’s insane for $30 a dish that was a total waste of my money and my appetite. They did not even have the basic courtesy to replace the rice for us. For such basic and mediocre overall food paying almost $150 was a total ripoff. This place is not authentic at all. It’s just a very bland overpriced boring so-called Mexican restaurant won’t be returning won’t be recommending to anybody else!!
