Absolutely loved our experience at Gaucho Piccadilly — a true paradise for steak lovers. The atmosphere is elegant yet lively, and the service strikes the perfect balance between warm and professional. The ribeye was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, while the fillet was buttery-soft and cooked to perfection. Sides like the truffle and chimichurri fries elevated the meal even more. Top-quality cuts, great wine list, and a setting that makes the whole evening feel special. Highly recommended if you’re serious about your steak.
Visited Gaucho Piccadilly for a team dinner after a long day, and it was a great choice. Most of us ordered the 300g ribeye, and in my opinion it was cooked to perfection — exactly as requested, full of flavour. The sides were also quite decent and complemented the steaks well. The ambience was comfortable and well suited for a team dinner, and the service was attentive and professional throughout the evening. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience and a solid option for both business and social dinners
I came here, Gaucho restaurant on Christmas Dinner with the family. Service was good and the ambience was great, the menu was varied. I had the Latin Marinated Sirloin Steak, Sea-bass and chicken Milanese, for my kids, they ordered mac n cheese and Fish n Chips All the taste was awesome Recommended !!
My new favourite pre theatre menu in London, cannot recommend it enough! Such a beautiful setting, really friendly staff, and a free cloak room which is great for winter! The food options are great too - 2 courses for £18 or 3 for £20 (just book and mention the pre theatre menu, and ask for the menu when you arrive). Great range of options and really good quality food! I had the prawns, steak and the dulce de leche pancakes (the chocolate brownie was definitely the better option though). Will definitely be back and recommending to all my theatre going friends ☺️
Visited for a birthday celebration. 2 of us ordered the set lunch which is excellent value and the food is delicious. Set menu steak is 140g which I find more than enough for a female with a small appetite but you can upgrade your steak to 240g for an £8 supplement. The service was very friendly and we appreciated the treats for the birthday boys. Can’t wait to visit again soon.
Such a warm and memorable night at Gaucho Piccadilly. You feel the quality the moment you walk in — the festive atmosphere, flawless service, and food that actually lives up to the hype. Our waiter went above and beyond and made the night unforgettable an example of how hospitality should be done. A brilliant experience from start to finish. If you want a place that delivers on every level, this is it. Already looking forward to coming back again this festive season and beyond.
Amazing hospitality and steaks! The staff was amazing and accommodated us on a busy evening despite not having a reservation. Our server helped us with the Halal options available and we had an engaging ‘small talk’. The Ribeye steak was tender, juicy and cooked perfectly. Best of all, it was a thick cut! I liked how they kept the serving simple. Chips were well seasoned and crunchy. I’d definitely be back next time I visit London.
Gaucho hit the mark on the main thing. The steak was really good, cooked exactly how I asked. The sides were alright, but the vegetables were the best of the bunch. Desserts didn’t do much for me, so I’d skip those next time. Service was friendly and the place has a relaxed feel. If you’re going for a solid steak, this is where it shines.
Phenomenal! I was told this establishment had the best steak in the city and they did not disappoint, and the fish was just as good.. I had an assortment of dishes from their prefix lunch menu, all were very flavorful. Excellent choice for sitting & dining... Sidebar: The Smoked pecan old-fashioned is amazing, Try it !
Gauchos is genuinely one of my favourite spots! We’re regulars at the Piccadilly branch, and their customer service is always amazing. I’ve tried a different branch before and was quite disappointed by both the food and service, so I definitely recommend choosing the Piccadilly location specifically. Me and my partner usually go for either the sirloin or ribeye steak, cooked medium rare. It’s always unbelievably succulent and tender — honestly some of the best steak you’ll ever have. If you need halal meat, you can request it with your booking, but make sure to let Gauchos know 24–48 hours in advance. They’re very accommodating with this. We’ve been here for multiple special occasions, and it has never disappointed. I usually go for a steak with a side of the Latin mac and cheese and fries. The mac and cheese is creamy, cheesy, and everything you want it to be. The peppercorn sauce is also great and pairs perfectly with the steak. I also ordered the salmon tarter tacos are they are literally my favourite starter! They are really tasty, light, and super fresh. I love that it comes with guacamole inside; it adds a creamy, refreshing layer that ties everything together so well. It’s the perfect little starter if you want something flavourful without being too heavy. For drinks, I got the virgin mint mojito — it was decent, though I personally prefer my cocktails a lot sweeter. My partner got the strawberry daiquiri and really enjoyed it. Overall I’d rate this gaucho 9/10
So good that we ate here twice in the space of 4 nights! The food is delicious! The steaks are cooked to perfection. Service staff are friendly and happy to help. My only negative comment is about how loud the music is, it’s really difficult to hear one another and you are having to shout across the table to each other. I would recommend turning it down 2 notches and just it being background noise rather than it being the main sound you hear. But overall really good food!
Great experience steak was excellent and the portions were great. The marinated steaks were a good choice and the Argentinian beef was authentic and flavorful. Probably the best meal we have had in London during our 10 day stay. Try the wine Gaia very good for the price but let it breathe.
Where to start? Highly attentive service, superb wine choices, very accommodating seating for our party, and an incomparable steak experience! My most recent visit here was probably the best (sirloin, med) steak I've had at Gaucho that I can remember. The scallops were super fresh and well seasoned, and the bread to mop it all up was warm and fluffy. Lovely. Looking forward to my next visit already!
On a very wet Winters day, booked a table for 2. However, buses and weather let us down badly; was half hour late. No problem, had called advised and booking was pushed back and honoured. Reception staff are wonderful and had us out of wet garments seated and food ordered in short order. Food did not disappoint, well presented, tasted great, and served promptly. Definitely calls for another visit!
A very nice restaurant, the prices were very fair and I loved the service. The waitress Anna was the best! :)
Steak cooked to perfection, a little on the pricey side but that’s quality over quantity.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warmth and seated with ease. The space is beautiful, and the service was exceptional. I made a reservation in advance (highly recommend), and I’m so glad I did—I didn’t want to miss this. The food was simply outstanding. I enjoyed every bite, even indulging in a little “you only live once” moment by trying something I usually avoid due to sensitivities. It was worth it—absolutely divine. It was the perfect dinner before heading to His Majesty’s Theatre to see Phantom of the Opera. And then, a moment I’ll never forget: as I left and found myself a bit lost (tourist problems and spotty Wi-Fi), a young gentleman—possibly security or staff—noticed I was unsure of the way. Without hesitation, he kindly walked with me for a couple of blocks until I could clearly see the theatre. His gesture left a lasting impression. I felt seen, safe, and truly cared for. A beautiful evening in every way—from the meal to the kindness of a stranger. Don’t miss
Great Location We came here this summer and only had some drinks on the terasse, but we really enjoyed it. Everything was fine, the staff the drinks, overall very nice place. The location is also great being in the back of Regent Street.
I’ve been thinking about going here for years but when I found out that they have halal options I knew it was time. So I took my wife for dinner and ordered a ribeye. It was one of the best steaks I’ve had but what made this experience great was our waitress, Ana Bianca. She was excellent and very attentive not to mention knowledgeable about the menu guiding us on what to order. She made us try the Dulce De leche cheesecake which was surprisingly really tasty. The manager, Charles, was very hospitable too. I recommend Gaucho Piccadilly for great service and steaks.
Amazing service and food! We had a really nice dinner, which was made special by the service of a lovely yet attentive and professional girl called Sofia. We initially only meant to have some drinks at the bar, which we did, but then we decided to stay for dinner, we then moved outside from the bar and we had dinner outside, starters suggested by Sofia were Lovely, same for the main courses and dessert! A really nice dinner and experience overall !
Best steak I've ever had. Unbelievably good starter and main. Service was great too.
Gaucho Steakhouse. I had the rump steak upgraded from 200g to 300g. First time at gaucho and the steak was very good. A 300g rump steak is big and the cut I had contained very little fat which is perfect. I don’t like steaks in restaurants that are full of chunks of fat. The steak here was perfect. And so were the steaks my friends had. Chips were good. Garlic mushrooms were okay. Steak was amazing. Why can’t all rump steaks be like this? Overall cost not bad. Lovely venue. Friendly and polite staff. Recommended.
Great option for taste real Argentinian food. Excellent service and food.
Had a fantastic time at Gaucho Piccadilly! The chimichurri steak was absolutely delicious. The meat was perfect and wine selection was top-notch, and as always, everything was on point. Special thanks to Edison for going above and beyond with his service, we we’re celebrating our birthday and we surprised us with a nice desert and also sang the Happy Birthday to us’ We felt truly looked after!🥰🥰
More than 5 star I would say. Reservation is very easy and they’re very helpful even if you have to modify your booking. Staff are friendly and professional. Edison in charge our table who’s responsible and a plus with a very positive vibe (absolutely get rid of your “challenge” day!!) We had filet and today’s special both delicious. Also some tenderstem broccoli and mushrooms (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED MUSHROOMS!!!!!!!!). Everything’s perfect cooked If you’re into wine, feel free to ask any suggestions by your favorite flavour Have to mention about the desert !! Sorry can’t remember the name but it’s the one with tropical fruit and crispy crepe!! Absolutely will come back again and highly recommended especially any celebrations xx
Lovely experience and the food was delicious. I enjoyed my chicken salad the portion was huge ! But the dessert was elite.
The entire place looks absolutely beautiful with their Xmas decorations, we took plenty of pictures. Lovely receptionist with blonde hair and glasses accommodated us even though we were a bit late for our reservation, as there was loads of traffic around. We started with cocktails and some nibbles that were recommended by our waiter Dolf and then ended up having fillet and sirloin with mash and broccoli. Everything was cooked to perfection. We will recommend this place to our friends. Thank you for an amazing evening!
I visited Gaucho in Covent Garden and really enjoyed the ambience — the place has a wonderful vibe with beautiful, Christmassy decorations. The entrance setup was especially nice and made a great first impression. The food was tasty overall, but the seabass I ordered was a bit on the salty side. The service was good, although our waiter seemed a little confused at times. Still, the overall experience was very pleasant and the restaurant itself is really lovely.
We had a good experience at Gaucho, mainly because the food was great. The steak was very well prepared and definitely the highlight of the evening. Halal options are available on request, which is a plus. Service started off strong, but at times it felt like there wasn’t enough attention, which was a bit surprising since there were only two other tables occupied. The atmosphere also felt a bit flat, probably because it wasn’t very busy. One big downside was the seating. The chairs were really uncomfortable and honestly felt more like office chairs than something you’d expect in a restaurant like this. The interior could definitely use some improvement. Overall: great food, especially the steak, but the service consistency and interior hold it back from being a top experience.
I used to go there a lot in the past but stop due to disappointment. This time I was not ! Food is good and the choice of wine is also great . If you are after a good steak and chips , this is the place . I had the wagyu empenadas , and the beef and mushroom pie both of them were excellent! I would definitely recommend.
I've been here before for dinner. This time came for lunch with friends. Ended up with the upgraded large steak set menu. Not sure what happened this time, medium steak was well done (they did check in and ask if everything was ok, but as I will still eat well done, I did not mention anything). Had a prawn starter also which was excellent. Service was attentive and they made the low key birthday memorable so still very happy and would recommend.
I have been here for dinner with friends, the venue is nice and the location excellent if you are in Central London. We appreciated really much the service, which was attentive and punctual, as well as the price, which we found fair. The food - we ate steaks with some sides - is above average but non excellent. The steaks, in particular, were a bit to the cold side, even though the meat quality was good. Not sure whether I would go again to this place, but if you happen to find yourself there for dinner there's no need to run away!
Took the pre theatre set meal, very good price, food was a bit too fast as arrived before my drink order but overall very happy, would recommend and go back again 😀
Amazing service, great food and lovely atmosphere! Would have preferred to sit upstairs but it was a last minute booking so so complaints here!
Cocktails were really good, and the food was decent, though I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. Our waiter was friendly and explained everything well, but overall the service fell short — no goodbye or acknowledgment when we left, which left the experience feeling a bit flat. Atmosphere was nice enough, but for the price, I expected more attention to detail. Slightly disappointed this time, but I’d give it another try and go for a proper filet next visit.
Restaurant starts very strong with special entrance foyer and taking care of wardrobe etc. Nice interior overall, but with unfortunately no love for details. After that, started with a stained wine menu and that seemingly most wine assemblages were not available. Steaks were ok, but unfortunately not medium rare as it was ordered. The other steaks, ordered in medium, were ok. The desert, a lemon meringue tart was great but unfortunately served with a piece already fallen off. Nobody wished us a goodbye when we left, not even our waiter! This feels really a bit off for that kind of restaurant it wants to be... And on top of that, charging 13% gratuity fee is quite cheeky!
Great services ,staff seem nice Average food , the chicken Milanese a bit dried and a friend also said the same for the steak
The restaurant is amazing. We ordered a chimichurri margarita and a strawberry nigroni which were amazing. For the food we ordered Scallops and cheese croquettes (starters) and vegan ravioli and latin american sirloin (main course) The food was amazing and the service was great. The only thing that bothered me was, even though the restaurant was partially empty with two seater tables available at the front of the house, the hostess at the front of the house seated us in some corner in front of the kitchen galley which wasn't Ideal at all (all I could see was either my food or the view of a dustbin in the kitchen)
What a disappointment. My Partner and I came here to celebrate Valentine’s Day and experienced appalling service. Within moments of sitting at our table we were interrupted but the waitress as we were browsing the menu that we only had 1hr 10 mins before the next guests arrive. We instantly then felt rushed and this echoed in the whole restaurant. They clearly like a quick turn around. We ordered bread to come out first which we had to remind them to bring. Our starters came before our drinks and our main was on the table before we had time to finish. When we had finished the main course we waited 20 minutes for the table to be cleared. Just to top it off when we asked for the bill we were given the wrong table TWICE !! The food was nice but the chaotic atmosphere and poor service will definitely mean we will not be returning. Sadly not the romantic evening we were hoping for
Firstly I was early for my reservation so I phoned ahead to make sure I should still come and I was advised that there is a bar area where I can sit and wait for my table, which was in fact misinformation. In reality, there are only 3 chairs at said bar and they cannot accommodate you if you arrive early. I was informed of this firstly by a rude, aggressive security guard outside who eventually let me speak to the reception who also confirmed that the people on the phone had given me misinformation. I appreciate they were busy as it was Valentines day, but a polite, respectful, demeanour is a must when you have customer facing staff, regardless of how busy the night is. When we returned later and were eventually seated the service seemed rushed. Firstly, nobody offered to take our coats and secondly, the clientele now at gaucho seems to have gone very down hill I would say in the last 10 years since my last visit. The clientele are now very young, nouveaux-riche type couples. I suppose the restaurant cannot help who book at their restaurants but it didn’t feel like a nice restaurant anymore as it did 10 years ago before their expansion. However, the steak was delicious. It’s a shame about the atmosphere and the service. Won’t be visiting again.
A rude waitress with a terrible accent ruined our mood by telling us that if we didn't order food (we were cold and had come in for tea, dessert, and a glass of wine), she'd take our table away because they were fully booked and it was already Christmas (yesterday was December 3rd, and there were several empty tables behind us). Then she said that we can stay only for 20-25min….We ended up drinking tea and didn't want to order anything after being treated that way.
The interior at Gaucho Piccadilly is truly impressive — stylish, atmospheric, and with a cool vibe that sets high expectations. Unfortunately, the service didn’t live up to those expectations. We were left waiting far too long before anyone came to take our order, and we had to ask twice just to get water at the table. At this price point, that’s simply not acceptable. The food was okay, but nothing special. When you’re paying over £50 per person for just a main course, you expect something more than “just fine.” The steaks were decent, but not memorable — and certainly not worth the premium price. All in all, you’re paying for the location and the setting more than the food or the experience. Disappointing.
I can’t believe I’m giving 1 star to a restaurant with such good reviews. - We had a reservation and showed the confirmation email, but they couldn’t find it. - There was a strong toilet smell downstairs. - The restaurant was extremely cold. Even after changing seats, it was still freezing — I had to keep my outside jacket on the whole time. - My well-done steak was burnt. - The steak came with no sides at all — not even a small garnish. - The starter (soup) was served cold. - None of the dishes were delicious. - Portions were very small; we left still hungry. - We were charged £110 for two people, even though we didn’t order anything expensive. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. I’ve eaten in Argentina and tried good Argentinian food out of Argentina — this was the worst experience.
Bad service!! They are not used to croud. If you pay over £500 you can ask for much more service then they offered! The table Guy was no where to be found! I would not recommend this place. Better go to Nando’s for a burger. The reservation was in name of my husband. We were there 28th of december at 18.30. Even ordered a bottle of Chablis £110!
I had a wonderful experience at Gaucho Piccadilly. The food was absolutely delicious, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. The atmosphere is romantic and elegant, making it ideal for a special dinner for two. The service was attentive and professional, and the overall ambiance makes you feel relaxed and welcome. I have also been here before for a Christmas party, and the experience was just as amazing. We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special dining experience.
I recently visited Gaucho Piccadilly for lunch and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I’ve previously dined at Gaucho Hampstead and Gaucho Richmond, where the steaks were a good size and served properly. However, at Piccadilly the steak portion was extremely small — it honestly looked like one steak had been cut in half, with half given to me and half to my husband. It was also sliced up, unlike at the other branches. The quality overall was not what we’ve experienced before, and the portions were noticeably smaller. We also had issues with our booking. The restaurant phoned my husband to confirm we were still coming, which he confirmed. Shortly after, he received an email saying the booking had been cancelled. He called again and was told everything was fine. We arrived early in Piccadilly and checked once more that our table was booked — again we were told it was fine. After going out for about an hour, we returned only to be told there was no booking under our name. We had to challenge this before another staff member stepped in, took my husband’s number, and then confirmed it was actually okay. The staff were not particularly friendly, and despite there being plenty of empty tables, guests were seated very close together. Overall, it was a very disappointing lunch. The food quality and portion sizes did not match the standard we’ve previously experienced at other Gaucho restaurants. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t rush back to this branch.
This is an expensive chain steak house. When you take International guests for a slap up steak dinner you expect thye can cook steak. Out of five of us two medium rare steaks were returned, they were almost well done. On another table the same happened. The waiter was good but then a junior waitress delivered the steaks and was clueless as to who was getting what compared to their order. It was a right mess. The two new steaks were good The bill was over £600 for two bottles of wine, and five steaks with a side salad and two deserts. I paid half the bill for business clients Absolutely one of the worst experience I have had in a restaurant. Its steak and salad. I could not fry of grill a steak that badly myself. You lost five customers that night. You absolutely should have just waived the bill. Thats business, its not two steaks, you ruined the whole evening
