Avis sur Sherlock's Bar & Grill London
We easily made a reservation online just a couple hours before we went. The mulled wine and fish and chips were the best we had on our entire trip. Atmosphere was fun, historic and service was great. Conveniently located, easy walk from our hotel at Charing Cross. I would 100% go back again. Instagram: @backward_traveler
Loved this pub. Very special and in a very beautiful area near the Trafalgar square. The service was great and the staff were friendly. The food was so good and it’s absolutely recommended for all of this and for the lovely atmosphere.
We accidentally visited this place for a late lunch neae Trafalgar and it was great! Fish&chips, burger - big portions and very delicious + 2 draught beers that were fantastic. Cozy atmosphere and excellent service. Totally recommend it!
Believe me when I say this is the best pub in London! Great food, amazing place and 1 min walk from Trafalgar. You must try the Sherlock beer and the beef and raclette pie, my favourites over all. Ps: if you go on Sunday, check the Sunday roast ;)
A charming and genuinely pleasant pub with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The relaxed vibe and friendly feel make it an easy place to enjoy a drink and unwind. Nothing felt forced, just a nice, comfortable spot that leaves a positive impression.
A lovely pub close to two tube stations and Trafalgar Square. Good service, lively atmosphere, amazing British food, unique Sherlock Holmes themed decorations. I suggest making a reservation online as it can get a bit busy.
Popped into The Sherlock Holmes Pub for the vibe, 10/10 atmosphere, but the real surprise was the Komoran Chicken Rice Bowl. Tender chicken in a tangy, gently spicy sauce over perfectly cooked sticky rice; way more flavorful than your standard pub fare. Prices are a touch high (you’re paying for the location and theme), but this bowl felt fresh, hearty, and not as heavy as a burger. If you want something lighter that still hits the spot amid all the classic British dishes, this is a smart pick.
What’s a fantastic surprise, we stopped for a quick drink and discovered this gem 💎 of a pub. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, good food and it was before John the manager showed us what hospitality really means, he took us on a tour around the place - there is a tribute to Sherlock upstairs. This place should be on the must see map of London.
What a cute looking pub! It really has the "Sherlock Holmes" vibe. We just went for tea and beer - I recommend the Sherlock Holmes Pale Ale.
This bar is an old London gem, it's unique, with a lot of history about the famous detective, a vibe that takes you back to the past, I loved the atmosphere, the food, the friendly staff.
Had dinner at The Sherlock Homes Pub in downtown London, England.. Had the fish and chips and my wife had a hamburger platter. The fish and chips were great. Some if the best I have ever had. The pub also has a Sherlock Homes room with memorabilia from the real Sherlock Hime with the London police. The atmosphere of the pub is very welcoming and friendly.
Want to feel like youre really in a pub? Want to really enjoy the atmosphere youre eating in? Look no further than this super adorable Sherlock Holmes themed pub. You enter straight into the bar but the steps to dining and in the right corner. As you make your way upstairs, the walls are adorned with Sherlock themed photos. The dining area provides a fairly spacious experience with amazing food. We had the beef rillett as a starter that was delicious. For entrees we ordered the fish and chips, the bacon burger, and the panko chicken each one was unique and delicious. We followed that with the sticky toffee pudding and oh my goodness it was amazing. We had a variety of drinks and all were equally delicious. This pub is kid friendly until 9pm so if you plan on bringing littles under 16, keep that in mind. We truly had an amazing experience and hope that if you give it a go - you will too!
Loved this pub. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was just buzzing. A very popular place.
We stopped here because of the name and are glad we did. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We both had the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed them. The pub can be a bit noisy but that adds to the charm.
This place is busy and happy! We took the London Ghost tour nearby, and stopped here before and after the tour. The place was hopping with a fun crowd and just had a good vibe overall. Beers were cold, Champagne was bubbly, and the Sherlock Holmes theme was cute. Fun pub!
Craft beer. Ipa, hazy ipa, Guinness, pale ale. Good beers and a good pub. Must visit
Great bar/pub and restaurant. The pub has a very good atmosphere, fortunately no screens so conversations can still be held. The staff is friendly and helpfull. They serve multiple sorts of delicious beers and other drinks of course. While we visited the pub on a friday late afternoon it was pretty crowded and people enjoyed their accompany. The restaurant above is completely decorated and equipped in the theme of Sherlock Holmes and provides a plethora of paraphernalia. It is a joy to spend some time in “investigating” all the objects exhibited. The rooms in the restaurant still have the original wooden wall panelling and wall paper. Very pretty! Also here the staff is friendly and helpfull. The dinner we got served was excellent and against a fair price. I highly recommend this venue in order to drink, eat and enjoy the good atmosphere from old times.
Book a table ahead to eat. Service was outstanding. Thank you too lady who found us a bigger table.
Great spot with a cozy vibe! The Hugo cocktail was refreshing, and I really enjoyed the pie, baked camembert, and pudding — everything was delicious. Would definitely come back!
Very nice place with cool service and delicious food! Only book your table
We're on vacation and were drawn in by the name and loved the food. The fish and chips is fantastic and my wife loved her sirloin steak sandwich. The service is also fantastic. You might want to make reservations. We didn't know but we still got a table.
I have a feeling that such a big part of the story would come from old history books. Loved atmosphere and food taste so good!
After a visit to the similarly named museum, this pub was just as memorable. Great atmosphere, delicious food and prompt service. Definitely coming back.
Tasty butternut squash and sweet potato soup hit the spot on a cold fall night. The duck was great as well.
The food was fabulous. I had the meat pie and my partner had the fish and chips. Partner learmed real quick that beer is served warm in londond which is different then what we are used to but not bad. The fish and chips was good. The pie I ate was fantastic. 10/10 recommend and would eat again!
I definitely reccomend this place. Abdullah and his colleague (Katie) were very nice with us. They were very polite and they took care about the gluten free menu. I totally reccomend this place! So cool! Thanks a lot!
Having been on the London Eye, we discovered my fiancé's sister was just over the bridge at The Sherlock Holmes. Nice decor and vibe with a good selection of drinks. Worth a visit.
We were in this pub during our trip to London. Apart from being a wonderful pub with all the essence of British tradition, we enjoyed the assistance of Matteo, our waiter. He was extremely nice, attentive, and trustworthy. His recommendations were spot-on and really enhanced our experience, from the choice of drinks to the food. Thanks to him, we felt very welcomed and well looked after. Highly recommended!
Had a wonderful meal served by Katie and Abdullah! They did an amazing job. My Baker Street Irregulars friends had a get-together here in the upstairs room. Wonderful atmosphere! Several of us had the special of wild boar sausages and mash, and draft cider. Fabulous! And the artifacts and sitting room are great even for casual fans.
What a cozy and inviting pub, the lager was lovely and the fish and chips was pukka. So nice to see it pumping for after work drinks. Major props to the bar staff for being efficient and quick with service even under so much pressure. I was tickled to see that dogs were allowed in and kept my eye out for one 🔍
Happened upon this pub on a recent London trip, right of Trafalgar Square, and loved it! The pub leans in to its love of Sherlock and I really enjoyed finding all the obvious and the more hidden nods to the great detective. We sat upstairs and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I got the fish and chips and they were my favorite of my whole stay in London. My friend ordered a beer and the staff was very nervous the American wouldn't enjoy it and even brought him a taste to make sure first. Turns out he loved it, but I really appreciated they went the extra distance to ensure he would enjoy it.
Food is really good. I ordered the fish and chips for once since it was a stable in london. Fish was crazy good and the sauce is really yummy. My friend got the impossible burger that is for vegans. Both was pretty damn good. I would recommend you come before 12pn because lunchtime filled up the restaurant super fast as soon as I seat down for 10 minutes.
Sorry I did not try the food. But the pub is very nice. Great location and if you go to the first floor you are up for a tread. a Replica of the detective office. Very well recreated. Recomended.
Step inside and you’re instantly transported into a Victorian detective fantasy — part museum, part pub, all personality. Cozy amber lights, vintage relics, and a replica of 221B Baker Street make it feel like you’ve stepped into “elementary, my dear tourist!” territory. Food is solid — classic British comfort like fish & chips, steak & ale pie, and a cheeky “Dr. Watson’s Amber Ale.” It’s more about the vibe than the culinary clues. Upstairs offers a quieter, period-drama feel; downstairs is pure pub chaos and selfies galore. Staff are brisk but pleasant — no mysteries there. Overall: fun, quirky, and a bit touristy, but worth a visit for the atmosphere. Come for the décor, stay for the London Fog, and leave before your inner detective starts questioning the menu prices. 🍺🕵️♀️
We went there for dinner, as my mom is a fan of Sherlock Holmes. She uses a wheelchair and the staff was very attentive and helped us get to the first floor. The food was really nice and the staff very nice and attentive. The atmosphere is really cosy and quiet. They are aware of allergies and can accommodate most. Really nice place.
Amazing experience , even better than the museum. On the top floor you can see a recreated scene from his living room.
This establishment offers a pleasant atmosphere, but Saturdays can be quite crowded. The bustling energy adds to the lively ambiance. Seating can be limited during peak times. Many visitors to the area frequent this spot. It's advisable to arrive early for a more relaxed experience.
Sooooooo to be honest this is a bit of a tourist trap given its location and its name. If you are a Real Ale drinker, unfortunately you will find the usual Greene King offerings, so you may want to stick to their range of keg ales. Dined upstairs and the Sherlock Holmes exhibition room is brilliant. The food is ok without being great. Be warned you will pay top prices for food and drinks, including soft drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is probably a pub you will visit once, tick it off and not return to.
Nice and cozy pub in the heart of London. The service was very authentic and heartfelt and we loved our little breather in the rainy London in the midst of our visit. I ordered the beef tenderloin sandwich, my daughter ordered the chicken sandwich, my husband had the BLT, and then we had fries on the side. The food arrived promptly even though it was getting busier. We managed to get there right before the rush hour and were able to get a table without a reservation. But I do recommend reserving as it tends to get crowded.
I absolutely loved this restaurant! The service was excellent—attentive and friendly throughout. The decorations were truly stunning and created an incredible atmosphere; it felt like stepping into a movie scene. Every detail added to the charm, making the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!
This is a busy pub close to Trafalgar Square. I was here at 4.30pm on a Tuesday and the atmosphere was good. I had a double Craggenmore at £9.40, taking advantage of the double up for £3 offer (a single is £6.40). This is a very popular pub with tourist giving it a very cosmopolitan atmosphere. During the day a large part of the pub is brightly lit due to the large windows on two sides. At night it has a more intimate feel. I was here on a cold day and the pub was quite chilly, due mainly to the fact that the main doors were open. Despite the cold there was a lot of people drinking outside. They do serve food and have a large upstairs dining room. There is also a small museum dedicated to Sherlock Holmes. The service was okay. In summary, an OK pub in a great location.
Drinks - order directly at the bar Ask about rotating seasonal beers on tap! Food - recommend go upstairs to dining room for more seating. You can scan to order & pay via the Greene Man app
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my recent visit to this pub! Occasionally, when I have guests, I include it on my London tour. This time, we stopped for lunch and the traditional British pub food was delicious. Despite its touristy vibe, the service was welcoming, with a good beer selection. Both the Fish & Chips and the Steak and Ale Pie were excellent. It's a great lunch spot for those exploring London's city center.
We had a company anniversary party on the first floor. It was a good evening. The first floor bar was open until 21:30, then it closed and we had to go downstairs for drinks. The food was good, and they did a good job of keeping my meals gluten-free. The location is great, lots of transport possibilities.
We had a table booked for 8:45 pm at the Sherlock Holmes Pub and arrived right on time. As the kitchen was closing soon, we were asked to order quickly, but unfortunately several dishes were already sold out. The alternatives offered were not quite what we had hoped for, and the food quality did not fully match the prices. We were also not seated upstairs as originally planned. While the location itself is lovely and the Sherlock Holmes atmosphere is charming, the service felt rather rushed and impersonal. Overall, a nice setting, but the experience did not fully meet our expectations.
Great pub but one major flaw, although pub was busy they were playing loud music which didn't help as you can hardly hear each other. It would be better if they turned music down a bit.
Picked this location because of the name. As we arrived we could feel the amazing buzz. Gentleman downstairs was an absolute star and extremely welcoming. He apologised that he had no space downstairs but have a look upstairs to see if they could squeeze us in. Upstairs staff were not as lovely. I'd say there were around 4 small tables sat for dining so clearly not busy or rushed off their feet. I asked if they could squeeze myself and my son in for a meal. They said fully booked though room looked half empty and whilst we were there sat on the terrace where we luckily found a spot, didn't see anyone arriving for these reservations!! We asked if the table could be cleared on the terrace so we could sit at it and were asked to wait until they had a moment. Remember they weren't even busy! I tidied the table and sat down. We used the app to order and true to estimation, our food arrived in around 20 minutes. Cutlery arrived after the meal which was interesting too! The fish and chips and the burger we ordered were lovely and filling. I'd recommend this place for the food and atmosphere but definitely wouldn't recommend the upstairs service team at all. If we return, will hold out for a table downstairs. Thank you to the gentleman downstairs for a warm welcome.
I went on the evening of December 30th, I greeted her with a smile, but the woman working there didn't even acknowledge me... There's a community that wants me to lose my politeness, working with all its might to revive medieval England. 💥Sorry..
The food was not so great. I had a beef roast which was served cold with very mediocre vegetables. The taste was not amazing and the meat was not tender at all. Nothing that I recommend.
Our son is a student in London and we came to visit. He ate here two months ago, and loved the food. Sadly, when we went-he was truly upset and we were all disappointed. He said it was night and day compared to when he went the first time. There were three young people working upstairs. The young man and tall woman were polite. They had a young, petite lady who was in over her head. Her service and attitude were horrible. The food was shockingly bad. Our son ordered the duck as he had previously enjoyed it. It looked nothing like the first time. We came after the luncheon rush..after 2. One staff member literally sat two tables down and had her lunch while we were waiting on ours. We assumed they had gone to Hyde Park to catch a duck it took so long. I believe it was because the young lady literally forgot to bring us our food. Beverages? No free refills..5.25 pounds for a cola—club soda and water? Slightly less. The duck when it came out was a tiny portion compared to the last time our son dined there. And the bacon cheeseburger? The bacon was so gross. We asked for extra crispy fries…they wee pale and bland. There were only three tables at the time we dined that were occupied, but it took a lot to obtain the check. And the kicker? Ah, yes, the kicker-tip was already added on. If you want a pint..lively crowd downstairs. Food? Not here..tourist trap. They know they have you..and it wasn’t just us..the young lady did a number on the couple seated next to us as well.
