It's a good place to eat if on the go love their Habanero chicken. It's actually spicy
I grew up eating Yoshinoya and hadn’t been there in maybe 10-12 years. The company has definitely expanded, as you can see by their expanded menu. I ordered a large chicken bowl with veggies. Overall, I’d say it was really good except I miss their veggie sauce. I read online that they used MSG in the original recipe so I suppose it’s good that it’s not in use anymore, but the veggie in that sauce were hard to beat!
Busy store but employees work well together and wouldn't mind a conversation while I waited. The manager said the girl who waited on me, was his right hand. Very supportive and are hiring. CHECK THEM OUT 😁
Excellent food & service. Dear employees, please wash your hands after emptying the trash before you handle food! Food safety rules require you to do so. Thank-you.
The shrimp was very good and the beef was delicious! The veggies were steamed/ cooked well done and I loved it! The brown rice, cooked to perfection. I like this place very much!
Henry is the best! He was kind, professional, and truly a great front of house representative. My order was complete, and the salmon was excellent! The only complaint I have is that the spring rolls are mushy inside.
The best food I’ve ever eaten was really hungry highly recommended
I walk in to a clean and friendly store. The service was fast. I ordered the combo with BBQ ribs and walnut shrimp with the (not so fried rice) I'm not positive of the name. I have to say everything was really good, except for the rice, I normally choose white rice, but the new rice seemed interesting to me. I didn't really like it, but that's my Opinion. Overall Everything was real good.
I noticed alot of people ask 4 the water cup but still get soda in them that's a shame becuase the people who actually do drink the water will eventually be punished for the thief
Thank God Yoshinoya owner, you have a excellent worker named Noemi very professional, polite and humble staff member and also, members who worked today came a little late, but no worries,Noemi took on the task of taking orders and cooking as well with help from the staff member walking in the door as we speak, another excellent team worker by the way, good service with a smile positive energy and clean healthy environment 👍👋
The food very tasty and the service was great. They have more variety now and some seasonal but the classics still on point. The place is cleand and organized but if you want to eat there be ready with your vaccine card.
Workers are on top of their game from cashiers to the cook. The service is fast and friendly even when it’s busy. Makes my 30 minute lunch break just right. Keep up the good work!!
Really hard workers i admire. I almost cried seeing someone who resembled my big boy derek who was kidnapped so much I cried. Really handsome top dog person he was. I want a welfare check on that gentleman. Give him a tip. Mommy loves you
Michael and Emili, the cashiers, were very kind. They serve you in a very pleasant manner and make your day great. They are excellent in service and the space is very spacious, clean and comfortable. An excellent place.
Love how they have the rice perfect
Very friendly and professional staff. The store was always clean. I went there 3 times while in 1 week while I was in town.
Came to tiday and was taking care of by Ashley. I really appreciate it how sweet she was and how much she welcomed everybody that was coming in and also to the counter cashiers . great customer service way to go Ashley good job.
The workers are very polite, and they always greet you when you come in the door. The service was super fast and the environment was veryclean. Best place hands down!! Thank you!
I liked the new fried chicken aka karaage and the cashier was very nice. She was courteous and inquiring.
When I lived in California (long beach), I would eat here once a week. Sooo delicious. Moved to Wisconsin. Wish they could have this franchise here.
The food is always good here Had a stressful miscommunication with uber eats and had to call the yoshinoya place Whomever I spoke to at the establishment was professional, respectful, and able to fix the problem That’s fantastic customer service
My very first and probably last visit to this place since I am a tourist. Juaido, the cashier who served me was very friendly and patient, great job! Food 5/5. Habanero chicken has some kick to it and is surprisingly good, even better than the classic beef which could be more flavourful and beefy. Place was clean and calm, enjoyed my first ever visit to Yoshinoya in the US.
The service was great and the food made the mark but the tables were dirty I had to clean it myself to sit down and the soda machine needed a cleaning but I still enjoyed my food
Service was alright. They forgot to include my vegetables on the side. The soup I ordered wasn't exactly steaming hot like it usually is. Overall it could have been better.
Never been before but had a coupon, so I tried it. Food was fast, tasty and very well priced. Not for people dieting due to the calorie count, but very good if you're not dieting lol. Go for the price, stay for the taste.
Was there for lunch. Ordered the large marinated steak (no veggies) and large reg.beef with veggies.. Service was great... however the marinated beef was way over cooked and dry and skimpy on the portions! And the reg beef was on the super salty side. Id recommend just ordering the regular beef with no veggies. Hopefully its not as salty next time.
The food was decent as usual... but the place is a bit out dated. Has a feeling of a convalescent cafeteria. The employees did a great job at keeping it clean but even clean it doesn't seem clean. Don't really like the foundation drink choices I guess cause I'm a coke girl. So I was so glad that they sell apple juice on the side!
Service was great. Store was very clean, neat and they were doing a good job social distancing. The food was ok. The chicken in the entrées was tasty, but had a lot of fat and still had a lot of the skin on it. If they'd remove the fat and skin, I would've given 5 stars.
Nice and quiet. The front counter employees were nice and welcoming. You do have to ask the counter for a lid and straw for your drink.
I've been here a couple of times now, at different times of the year. It's overall a good as far as Yoshinoyas go. They have decent parking and plenty of indoor seating. The interior is much different than other locations. Its very open and spacious. The food quality is average and the staff could be a bit friendlier but the service is quick.
The food here was okay, was on a run for the day and this was a place nearby. The person I was with was craving the food there. For the price I paid I think the food could have been better. But if you want a little Japanese flavor give it a try yourself.
not very accommodating. The cashier was as helpful as she could be, but the manager would not approve of a mediating a large soup that I was very unhappy about that he was too small at the other Joshua I went to the manager, charged me 2 dollars more and gave me a bigger bowl, but this one wasn't budging and I love my clam chowder.
My first time to eat at any Yoshinoya and bought the beef bowl plus a side. I found the rice overcooked and sticky. The vegetables were good but still overcooked. The beef was good, sauce good but overall not a meal I will say I have to have again. Sorry guys, you missed the mark. I think 2.5 stars is correct but had to round up.
Service is great here, let me first start with that. One of the guys that works there approached me since I was waiting for quite a while thinking I ordered already but was just on the phone with a friend I hadn't spoken with for quite some time. Now, on to the food. For the most part, the food had been consistent from the times I've had Yoshinoya from 20 years ago. My main complaint is the portion size. Now, I know that inflation has been a big issue with any establishment, but when I get portions that were nearly half of what I got just a few weeks prior it makes me bat my eyes a little.
This particular one can be a trying experience. Last time they had no change. Menu prices fluctuate. Newspaper coupons help. Food's not too bad and one can use the restroom without being hassled about purchase. Neighborhood staple..eh..
one of my favorite chains. Their rice bowls make me think of muy time in Korea, but this location looks like the tables haven't been wiped down all week. Not cool. Service was decent.
It's fast food but my big problem with this location is that they are open seemingly random hours. I've seen it open close to midnight when I drive past. But I've also tried to go around 8:30 on a weekday and they were closing up.
The portions are less and less as time goes by. Been coming here for many years. And I always get large beef. I've noticed that the beef used to cover all the rice and pile up. Now, sometimes it doesn't cover all the rice and looks more like a thin blanket. I'm getting very disappointed. Prices go up, less beef. I like to eat it, but i don't like the small portions. I'm forced to buy a side of beef just to make up for the little beef in the large beef plate. Disappointing.
Place is very clean. Service is nice and friendly. But food is terrible. I usually like going to Yoshinoya but here it wasn’t that great at this place. The rice tasted stale and the beef wasn’t the best.
I would really like to give your employee Alejandro much praise. When I walked in, there was a very long line. People were visibly agitated and impatient. It quickly became clear why. Alejandro was the only employee there for some reason, and he was absolutely perfect in doing everything,I mean everything. Putting the food together, taking the order's, and on top of it al, he remained friendly, compose, and polite. Good job, Alejandro, and much respect.
Owner should hear employee's, those stars ore for you Guy's... 😘 From Brother Wil
The person before me was irate because his portions for his combo meal were tiny...I don't blame him. For over $10, we should get more than 4 pieces of chicken and some spread out slices of beef. I asked for more veggies instead of rice and my order came with rice.
We were visiting from Las Vegas and were craving Yoshinoya. First off, I ordered the large plate, and they must have changed the reciepe (oringinal) dry vegetables dry. But my husband says the limited large plate Gyudon was outstanding!
The food was not that good and they messed up my order
The cashier was friendly. The portions are small. I ordered chicken, veggies, shrimp tempura. The chicken meal was healthy and good. The shrimp tempura was dry. It didn't taste awful but it wasn't good. The restaurant is average but prices can be expensive.
This is your standard Yoshinoya experience with mid-grade meat and perfect rice. As someone who worked nearby and had few other options during late-night meal breaks, the recently hired staff are a welcome breath of fresh air. Be careful: there is a metro blue line station a block away.
Looking for a quick bite? Yoshinoya is a fast food style Japanese chain serving a plate of rice with with a choice of beef, chicken, fish and vegetables. Indoor dining is still closed but they do have take-out options/no outdoor dining available. The inside of the restaurant was clean with glass dividers to help protect customers and employees. I ordered a simple combination rice plate with both chicken and beef along with steamed vegetables. I noticed that my chicken portion was smaller than the vegetables/beef. I think someone is trying to tell me to eat more vegetables. Make sure to ask for pickled ginger, hot sauce and pepper flakes if you like to spice up the meal.
First impressions are a big deal especially during the slow time after 9pm... The floors appeared to be unswept and mopped since the before the afternoon shift... The food was placed on a tray on the counter before I even finished paying for it... The chicken was dried out like it was under a heat lamp and not to mention there was more chunks of batter than chicken... The clerk working the counter took my friend's order but when it was my turn another customer rudely cut in front as if I wasn't ready to pay (mind you my money was in hand) without any directions of "who really is next" from the clerk... The food was warm but not hot as is expected when you get to the center of a bowl of rice... Hmm very disappointing for a quick bite... To cap it off their soda syrups must have been low since I had more carbonated water in my cup than soda... Smh 😞
The only redeeming value about this place is the super sweet woman on the register. Other than that, the restaurant was so dirty - our shoes squeaked as we walked over the sticky floor and we couldn’t find a clean table to sit at. And then there’s the food... so awful! I remember Yoshinoya as a viable option when I was young, but I won’t darken their doors again now!
We get food here a lot but tonight wasn't that good. I think they got new cooks. They were giggling a lot, maybe they should pay attention to how to make the beef, it was bland today. It's never bland, I hope they fix it. Update 5/9/2021: I gave them a lower rating because this is the 3rd time they closed way earlier than the time posted. Today, on the door it said closes at 8pm today but it was 7:29 and the door was locked. There were customers inside getting food but they wouldn't open! What kinda lazy bull$%=÷ is that? Too bad there isnt another Yoshinoya close by because I think we won't be coming anymore. Smh
I gave them a two because of the memory that I used to have . They deserve a 1 but I miss the old yoshinoya . The food was excellent. Now it's really not worth eating. I have high hopes so I will go back one more time .
I had been very disappointed at this location for the last 5 years, they just never got the beef right. If the beef tastes as good as it is supposed to be, I probably will be back here at least a couple times a month. But I doubt it. Just have to remember going to a different location.
It's nice and clean inside. Food was not good though. A XL combo had meat thrown around on the plate with a lot of sauce. The salmon was dry. I actually like the salmon from Yoshinoya because it's moist, surprising I know. This place was a fail. They tried to fix it but I already dropped $75 after a long day on the road. To make matters worse, after giving us our order then they tell us we would need to wait 15 minutes for our clam chowder. We'll be done eating by then and I purchased it as a meal expecting to eat it as a meal. I wished they could have told us that earlier so we can wait for the food and clam chowder at the same time. To make up for the wait, we received a single cheesecake for 6 people. They have a clean establishment and they tried. That's why I gave it two stars.
The food was ok. I order at 4:52 and did not get my food until 5:45. When I realized it was taking to long I went to ask about my order. They said it was coming. Then when I receive my food then they told me the potstickers will be done in 5 minutes and asked if I wanted to wait or get spring rolled. By that time already waited 45 minutes. Then I checked my order and I got chicken instead of beef. But was interesting is when I informed them if the wrong item it only took about 5 minutes to get the right food. So there seems to be a problem with kitchen management. Just a word of advice if you make a mistake owned up to and not say it coming.
This place is a joke and Yoshinoya Corporate should be listening. The franchise owner for this location tells their employees to put less meat and less meat in customers orders. This cheapens the brand and makes it so obvious this franchise owner is nickel and diming. Don’t go to this location; or if you do, don’t leave until you check how much meat they’ve given you. Workers here don’t even know how to place food inside a bag without getting sauce all over the handles. Even McDonalds isn’t this sloppy.
I experienced some challenges during my visit regarding the food preparation time and service. The food was undercooked, and it took longer than expected to be served. Additionally, I felt that the staff's demeanor could have been more professional and courteous. It would greatly enhance the experience if the team addressed these concerns with a more positive attitude.
Mostly disappointing experience at this location, though not completely horrible. Just before 8 pm on a weekday, well before closing time & it was not busy. Ordered a beef bowl with vegetables, but got only the beef. The portion seemed light compared with other locations. Asked for the broth twice with the beef bowl, but got what was mostly a cup of oil. Never seen so much oil with a few drops of broth. Ordered gyoza and got them cold & burned. Not nice. There was no unsweetened iced tea, and the sweetened iced tea looked murky & smelled spoiled. Could hardly ask about anything after ordering, as the place seemed understaffed & servers quickly disappeared to the kitchen. At least the condiments were available, which one server kindly gave me when I called & asked. Some of the music may be suitable for the pace in the kitchen, but it's too fast & agitating for comfortable eating and seems to be for urging customers to leave & not dine in (to keep the tables clean?).
I ordered for delivery, and not only did they messed up my order, but the beef was very much bland. I've had yoshinoya before at different locations, and their beef were well marinated, but this was not it. It was already bad enough I paid a lot for it to be delivered which its not their fault, but at least I want my Gyudon beef to taste like, yknow, Gyudon beef.
Sad how plates look now. I love the food but the plates are empty
Went around 7:30pm on a Sunday and they were out of all proteins except beef. They were also out of soup. I don't like complaining but you could tell the young man at counter was embarrassed but the cook seemed to have checked out already.
They tried to over price me four times also the food seems to have changed for the worse. Some things different not sure what but it's not as good. Also it doesn't look as clean, I wonder did it change ownership. 🤔
This location is horrible! I had to wait 30 minutes for 2 combos just to have to change my meat order because they forgot to start the orange chicken! General Manager Jason was in the kitchen with no gloves while the girl who was taking and bagging orders was overwhelmed in the front!
I asked for no onions or green onions and got both, ordered 2 bobas and they didn't add the bobas, took them back and they did it again and made the wrong bobas. My regular combo had bigger portions than the XL combo. Food had chunks of old beef and chicken was chewy. Never coming back
This place is in desperate need of new management ASAP. The customer service is ridiculous. I call the phone line and I get no response, I say hello? The young male responds with “yeah” extremely ghetto. Not even knowledgeable about the products. I asked how many come in a side order of shrimp. He didn’t know the answer. He’s talking to other people while on the phone and comes back like what did you say?? Excuse me?? After I place an order online for curbside pickup. It took them 20 minutes and a phone call & me actually getting out of the vehicle to pick up my order for him to say, I thought it was Uber eats?? 0 stars. Not the first bad encounter I’ve had in this location. Save yourself the hassle and go to the Lakewood location better.
I ordered the regular size Tilapia & HabaneroChicken, guess what happened it was given out to the wrong person. Now I have to wait another 10-15mins on top of the wait I've already done. Got here around 2:27pm waited in line & so on, the time I got my order by 3:05pm. I went here because of hunger & I almost passed out from waiting that long. Cashier was apologetic but it wasn't her fault, its whoever was designated to give out orders. Not coming back here. Dear Owner/Mgr: maybe you guys should adapt the way other fast food places, checking with the names designated on the receipts. You're losing customers & $$$ for losing orders & food given to other customers for FREE.
Who in the world is cooking the rice??? I ordered the salmon teriyaki with brown rice and it was as hard as a rock. My vegetables were very cold and salmon was overcooked like burnt chicken. I want a refund!!!!! Do not come to this location.
I will never eat at this location again. The workers here uses the restroom and don’t wash there hands then proceed to prepare customers food. I requested a refund after noticing this and they refuse to give me my money back and I haven’t even got my food yet because I didn’t want it after witnessing a employee use the restroom and not wash his hands. He didn’t even bother to put on gloves either. And I still haven’t got my money back yet.
Customer service is bad while waiting in line she asked me to hold weight so she can stack the refrigerator sodas she being the lady at the register and then proceeded to help another gentleman on the side asking his question he was making an order mind you I'm on lunch break. Also their mobile payment was no longer not working so essentially since I didn't have my wallet I stood there between that Aristotle and sodus and they're helping the man who wasn't in line who finally got in line behind me I waited 10 minutes for nothing Yes the customer service was horrible The lives are very long it was just bad
OMG I have never saw a public restroom in such disarray pee on both toilets there was 💩 on the way behind one stall toilet paper all over floors if I didn't have to go so bad I would have walked out. Looks like people in neighborhood think the floor and walls are the toilets. Think the management needs to take more control and be more aware of their restaurant. As I know what I am saying is not hard I have been a restaurant manager as well.
I recommend do not eat here. Its really gone down hill. Twice they've given me a plate with raw rice. And 3 times they've confused the order up to the date. The chef in the back has a really bad attitude, if you don't like working there. Find somewhere else then with a better attitude. And if that wasnt it, when I ordered my plate without vegetables, the chef added the vegetables, and measly took it off without replacing the rest of the meat that was missing. Another bowl was missing the rice and veggies completely.
The who was not that great they made my order wrong I live in a different city and I didn't notice it until I got home. The Fried Chicken wasn't that great and it wasn't made fresh
Service at this facility was marginal. The restaurant was out of ALL drinks!!! No fountain drinks, no bottled drinks. This location is located in a sketchy area. The food was cooked as ordered, however being that we ordered it to go they could have done a better job with packaging. I love Yoshinoya’s. I love the flavor of the food. I would probably seek out a different location next time.
The worst Yoshinoya ever so far in my opinion, waited 20 minutes on line just to order my food, saggy vegetables, cold beef and rice, very oily. While I was waiting in line a few people requested a refund on their food because they waited to long for them to served them their food. I should’ve left them but I was freaking starving wich made it more upsetting for me to eat the nasty food. I will never ever come back here.
Worst Yoshinoya ever!!!! Employees do not care nor have at least good customer service. Placed an online order to be picked up at 12:45pm, I ordered approximately 30 minutes before picking it up. I arrive at the restaurant and was told to wait an additional 10 minutes. After waiting an additional 10 minutes I was told that it would be another few minutes. After waiting 20 minutes I had to cancel my order because my lunch was coming to an end (I only get 30 minutes). I tried canceling my order and they said they couldn't cancel it there and that I had to contact customer service.
I usually love yoshinoya however today's journey was not a pleasant one. Once I left the store and got to my eating spot I discovered that my rice was dried out like it had been cooked left overnight and then tried to be remarket and it was hard. That's an all the way out for me$30 for lunch just to discover after I 20 minutes away that the rice is hard to the point where it's unedible really sucks.
I've been a regular customer at this location for years and never had a problem. However, during the past few months, they keep closing at different times in the evening (5:30, 6:00, 7:00, 7:50...10). Although they have a schedule on the window, sometimes they close later than it says on their sign...in other words, you never know for sure. Sometimes, they run out of cooked food so there is a 20-minute wait time. Today, they lost my business for good. The restaurant was closed around 3:30 P.M. and their excuse is that they ran out of food all the time! It's almost as if they want to go out of business.
The service is horrible and at 12:00 PM on a Saturday they tell me they are out of clam chowder. How is it that you open at 11:00 AM and you’re out of chowder an hour later. The manager Lupe then quoted me 10-15 minutes for the chowder and I had to wait 30 minutes. They also dished my food way early so by the time I got my chowder my food was so cold. The manager and the girl in the back were constantly on their phones and showing each other info and giggling while the line kept growing longer. I love Yoshinoya, but definitely NOT this location unless the owner gets a new staff!
My husband just picked me up a beef/chicken meal. To my disappointment I open the box and all the beef is pale and looks uncooked with 2 pieces of chicken. I tried to call restaurant to complain but no one answers now my husband has to drive all the way back. They better give me some kind of discount. Ridiculous
The owner of this place should really put attention to how the workers are putting this restaurant reputation never will I go again I order gyoza they where burned and hard not eatable what so ever and the rest of my food wasn't any better rice hard and veggies where soggy I waited so long for this employee very slow
This is the 3rd and last time I’m eating here I ordered food and they gave me undercooked chicken those 3 times I’m going to hire an attorney this isn’t right someone’s going to end up dying because of irresponsible cooks
Had Uber bring this very bad food to my door. Upgraded to ribeye steak and teriyaki chicken combo. It was awful, especially the "chicken." If it was real chicken the all dark meat was not normal cuts of chicken. My chicken loving cat wouldn't eat it either. Processed, packaged, and plastisized cheesecake was worse than gas station sushi and perhaps as risky. Stalks and stems of brocaflower were bedded down with similarly chilled rice. But they were nice & clean veggies, not a spec of seasoning, or flavor, or appetizing eye appeal. I know this is a harsh review, and I know delivery takes its toll on food quality, but there's no excuse for charging top dollar for cheaply prepared terrible food.
The Hispanic young guys were all in the back laughing and playing and they literally put a tiny bit of beef in my LARGE PLATE as if they’re saving it for their selves.
As soon as I walked in the floors were nasty and sticky. I had ordered 2 bowls of which neither one of them had the right portions without touching the food we saw the black bottom part of the bowl that goes to show how little rice and beef they had. I have been to many other yoshinoa and never had this occur so I know how much is meant to be in a bowl. I was very disappointed and angry that I asked for my money back because $21 for basically crumbs is so infuriating. I came in at 2:50pm on 5/1
The staff here are so unprofessional. Photo tells everything. We ordered 4 bowls: one of them has wrong item(ordered beef but came with chicken); another has only 5 pieces of beef in the LARGE beef bowl. Never going to this location again! (2 stars, January 2022) So I gave it another try when I passed by this restaurant today. But it’s gotten worse. The food is extremely SALTY. And you can see that their employees in the kitchen are not happy with their job because he throws the food container onto the counter with ANGER. This location is just TERRIBLE! Trust me, don’t go! (0 star, 9/15/2022)
Wow very disappointing I've always been to this Yoshinoya and they have never served me this little lol either they were running out of rice but 3 pieces of chicken too lol it's ok I know everything is super expensive now in days I better cook at home even though my house gets super hot when I cook the only reason I eat out on hot days 😮💨
This is kind of a shock. Sure, I used a coupon. Bjt for both bowls to end up with the amount of food that would be in just a singular bowl ? That's just facetious. I was asked if I wanted almost a dollar back in change, they had a terrible attitude and the wait was atrocious. Do yourself the favor and don't come to this establishment.
Wow I have not been to yoshinoya for awhile and It sure has gone down hill....very unhappy with this "double combo" I purchased. I remember a time that this plate was covered with good chicken and beef...now...hell it was 7 pm and they were already out of fried rice...don't bother, there are better places in Long Beach.
