Very good and fresh baked pizza. Sauce tastes incredible and was the perfect amount. We had a large pepperoni and finished the whole pizza. Owner was very friendly as well. Highly recommend this place
The food is excellent and the service was very welcoming!!!! Building was very aesthetically pleasing and the people who work there are very nice didn’t even rushed us to pay they brought our food to the table and let us enjoy the meal!!! I enjoy pizzeria shops like this one bc the pizza is 🤌🏽😋 🍕🍗
Today I got the $25 special for the first time and it’s officially the best family meal deal in Culver City. The food was great!!! 10/10 highly recommend. I also got a calzone, without cheese, so it was great that I could eat something while my family enjoyed the $25 meal deal.
The food here is delicious but what really stands out is the service. Marcos is amazing and so incredibly kind! I’ll definitely come back when I visit LA!! I highly recommend this pizza place!
They made a heart shaped pizza for us on valentines day!
We saw a sign on the building advertising a special offer, and decided to grab dinner. The special included a large pepperoni pizza, spaghetti and meat sauce, wings, salad and a 2 liter soda. The food was incredible! Hot, fresh and made with love. The spicy wings are large drums and flats rolled in a housemade buffalo sauce that is incredible! Hand tossed pizza and you can taste the layers of flavor. Spaghetti was amazing and included garlic bread. Don't let the outside of the building fool you, this is Marina Del Rey's best kept secret! Highly recommended!!
Doesn't matter where I move to, I'll make the drive here for a large pesto shrimp red onion pizza any day! Tonight we did no onions still taste great! No other place makes it like here at marios. the taste and quality of the food is amazing! The wings!? Don't even get me started they are a must have!
Ordered takeout, cheese pizza and ceaser salad. The Ceaser salad was incredible and would go back just for that, but the pizza was great too! Added some hot honey on it and red pepper flakes. Good job Mario 🤝
Tasty pizza! The sauce is perfect, not too acidic or too sweet. Generous with toppings and cheese. Crust is perfectly baked. Delicious:)
I'm visiting from Scotland and was delighted to find Mario's. This must be the best pizza in Los Angeles! And really friendly people.
Highly recommend. Got a veggie pizza from here for the first time today and it was delicious! I’ve found my new favorite pizza parlor!
A nice local food spot! Great food and service. Support your local businesses. If you're looking to support quality local businesses in LA, Mario's Pizza is definitely worth a stop. The food is genuinely good, it's clear they care about what goes into each pizza, and that attention to detail really shows. Service was friendly and efficient without being intrusive, which is exactly what you want when you just want to enjoy a simple pizza lunch. Mario's has that authentic local pizzeria vibe, and in a city like LA where everything can feel corporate or overly trendy, it's nice to find spots that just do their thing well without pretense. This is the kind of place where the owners clearly care about their regulars. Definitely worth supporting and recommending to others in the area.
The food is great and always ready quickly. And they are so nice! The large pizzas are such a good size compared to larges at other places. We get their pizza for family hangs and everyone loves it
Absolutely delicious pizza. High quality ingredients and the for me the key was the flavor of the sauce and the dough. All together and it makes the best pizza I’ve eaten since I moved to LA. Wow! I can’t wait to try more.
I wanted something to eat for an early lunch and decided to make my way down here from Long Beach since I’ve heard good reviews about this place. The first slice instantly made the trip worth it. I can’t say enough good things about this place! The crust is perfectly crisp on the outside, and has excellent flavor. Lots of sides too and all made to order. 10/10 spot.
Got distracted by the pretty storefront on my drive home and walked in on impulse. AMAZING place!! The $25 special comes with a 14 inch pizza, pasta, 6 wings, salad, and soda. Owners were really nice. Wings were delicious. Will be added to our regular rotation of restaurants.
Update: So delicious, we had it 2 days in a row..... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Update: Just never gets old!!!!! The food is a bit salty therefore ask for the food with less salt and your golden! Update: The restaurant is seating now! Better than ever! You've never had Peruvian until you try Mario's!!!!!! Un-Believable!
Always amazing. Been coming here for over 30 years. The recipes are still the same. The servers are mostly the same (I assume family owned and so family served). The food is unbeatable. You can't get better Peruvian in all of LA. Our favorites: any of the saltados (lomo, seafood, or shrimp), the green chili sauce for the bread (if you like spicy), and you absolutely should never miss the ceviche. Best anywhere. But really, everything on the menu is amazing.
Mario’s is a great spot for delicious, authentic Peruvian food in a very casual setting. We ordered the ceviche, lomo saltado, and picante de mariscos — everything was well made, full of flavor, and generously portioned for the price. The food tastes fresh and traditional, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and the service was quick. Overall, a solid Peruvian restaurant with great food and great value — definitely worth coming back.
This is by far the best Peruvian food in the IE. The only reason I don't like coming here is the limited parking and the line. Otherwise it's fantastic. I keep ordering the same items because it's just too good to pass up. I get the seafood ceviche and lomo saltado. I did notice that the amount of beef has gone down, probably because of the high beef prices these days. Hopefully it corrects itself. Otherwise it's heavenly.
Small Peruvian restaurant. I had the Tallarin Saltado de Carne. This could've easily been for 2 people! The serving is on a huge plate. Very flavorful pieces of steak mixed in the spaghetti noodles that have a beef flavoring. If you like Lomo Saltado but want to mix it up a bit with some pasta noodles, this is it! There are also generous slices of onions and tomatoes in the mix. Excellent with their mild green sauce. Highly recommended! Parking can be a challenge here though. The strip mall where the restaurant is located has very limited parking availability. You may have to drive around to find available street parking. The staff is friendly and efficient.
Mario's Peruvian Food is a true gem, and my experience with their Lomo Saltado was nothing short of exceptional. The dish was cooked to order, which ensured it arrived fresh and full of flavor. The beef was perfectly tender, stir-fried to achieve just the right balance of caramelization, and paired beautifully with sautéed onions, tomatoes, and a touch of soy sauce that added a savory depth without overpowering the natural flavors of the dish. The portion size was generous, leaving me fully satisfied but not overly stuffed. What really stood out was the way the Lomo Saltado was complemented by the accompanying rice and crispy fries. The fries were a great contrast in texture, adding that satisfying crunch alongside the tender beef and veggies. The rice, fluffy and slightly aromatic, absorbed the juices from the dish, tying everything together perfectly. The combination of flavors—savory, tangy, and a bit of sweetness—made each bite feel like a little burst of Peru. The service at Mario's was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt authentic and welcoming. This place clearly takes pride in serving up traditional Peruvian dishes with care and passion. After experiencing their Lomo Saltado, I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of their menu—it’s a must-visit for anyone craving bold, flavorful, and well-executed Peruvian cuisine.
Expect a wait of 20-30 minutes, depending on when you arrive. The portions are all generous. Initially, we planned to order two different dishes to sample more options, but upon seeing the size of the plates, we opted for one dish with a salad, which turned out to be a great decision (for 2). If you're considering taking the food home, definitely go for it—the food was amazing. The green sauce they serve is delicious; just writing this review makes me want to go back and order again! It's definitely a must-try and worth the wait.
I hadn't been here in about 16-17 years. We came in for lunch. We were lucky to find parking right upfront. We were seated right away. Our server greeted us and gave us menus. She took our drink order and food order shortly after. The food came out fairly quickly and it was nice and hot. The portions were very nice and the food was delicious. My Wifey and mother loved it. It has gotten very pricey since I was last here but their portions are good and the food is amazing.
Food was great. Small plates. Ravioli was homemade. Goat cheese crostini was delicious. Focacci bread was basically a texas toast.
I went with their SPICY Chicken Wings + Ranch Sauce. Pretty Bomb but, a bit tangy so I would recommend some Garlic Knots to offset the tanginess. It didn't come with Celery or Carrots. Decent amount of meat on the bones and cooked just right. I grabbed myself a Jarritos from their drink cooler. I didn't feel like Pizza tonight. It was about $16- and I gave the lady a $20 and told her to keep the change. I didn't have to but, she didn't look grateful for a 1/4 percentage of the meal. I thought it was fair for someone working in the Service Industry. I feel a SMILE and a nice THANK YOU could have gotten her a $10+ TIP. Place was very Clean. Restrooms Clean and Open for Customers upon asking. There's like 5 spots and a Handicapped Spot out front for Parking. A new Mexican Restaurant is under construction next door otherwise, it's Street Parking. Prices are Decent. They could use some music and maybe another TV besides whatever movie is on the big screen. I will be back later for some Pizza.
Pizza was excellent! Crunchy crust. Very generous with the toppings, unlike some places. It's pretty much a takeout place, While there is seating, it's pretty much an afterthought. If they want to encourage dining there, they could certainly make the dining room more inviting with some simple, inexpensive upgrades. (Like loose the XMAS decorations and Santas. It's almost March, replace the burned-out light bulbs in the chandeliers, red-checked tablecloths on the tables, don't store supplies in the dining room or where visible from it. Some type of partition around the order counter would help).
Best lomo saltado! Well seasoned and tastes fresh. Big portions , easily able to have leftovers. I mixed shrimp and beef and fulfilled my surf and turf cravings. Good prices. Parking is horrendous at times so be mindful of that. It also gets busy so definitely plan for that! Comfort food at its finest.
I LOVE this place. I've been to other Peruvian restaurants at both ends of the price spectrum and none compare to Mario's. The food is flavorful and their green sauce is so good. Warning, it is spicy so be prepared especially if you slather your food with it like I do. The mussels are very tangy, zingy, and a staple for me. It has a lot of salsa topping so I usually scrape some of it off and save it for my meal. Be forewarned about their parking. Their food is 5 stars. Their parking is 2 stars and their service is 3 stars. Mario's has been at this location forever which is a VERY small strip mall with 3 other businesses with only about 20ish parking spaces. It's just horrible. You may get lucky finding street parking but the area itself is busy and competitive with parking. I highly suggest going when they open or on "off" times to make the experience more bearable. The restaurant itself is small so don't be surprised if there is a wait as well. Despite all of this, I will fight through all of this to get my fix of Mario's. Their food is just so darn good. I keep trying other Peruvian restaurants to find a place with easier access and less fuss as Mario's that is just as good, but I just haven't found it yet.
The food honestly wasn’t good. I was really excited to try Mario’s because of the google reviews. The lomo saltado was decent and a good portion. The ceviche de pescado wasn’t Peruvian, it had celery and white potato which isn’t how it’s supposed to be paired. We also tried the milanesa de pollo which is traditionally paired with rice, fries and salad but this only came with fries. This plate was also disappointing because of the paper thin chicken. Wouldn’t recommend, unfortunately
Just went to Mario’s for a bit of lunch. 11:15. They open at 11. He says he’s making fresh pies. I wait 15 minutes. He brings out two slices over heated that we’re from yesterday. Dry and no flavor. Then I asked the guy the why he gave me slices from yesterday and he said sorry and gave me my money back. Do not eat here u less you want old stale pie. Disappointing.
So I do want to say that the customer service here is FANTASTIC! I felt right at home. However, two things so they don't have tallarin verde which to me was red flag because how can you not serve that at a Peruvian restaurant. So I went with a classic Lomo Saltado! Once my plate arrived the meat looked a little off to me. I took a bite and it was SUPER HARD AND CHEWY. They don't the use correct meat for the lomo saltado and in fact it taste like two different meats. The rice also tasted old and crunchy like they just re-heated the food. Please save yourself a visit. Some of my neighbors in the area told me not to go here and to go to INTI down the street instead and that the food is much more delicious.
Been coming here for the past 20 years with my friends and family. Staff and waitresses were so kind and friendly back then but this time it was the most horrible experience with the new staff. When we checked in, they said it was a 45 minute wait. I understood that because food has always been amazing here. My parents, both 78 years old were baking in the sun for 1 hour and 40 minutes in 83 degree weather. I asked the only heavy set hostess if we can stand inside because I seen that we were next. She rudely said no because the tables had to be cleaned up. I seen 5 tables clean and available for the next 15-20 min after waiting outside. I asked the waitress again if we can be seated and she made a smart remark saying that’s life we all have to wait for our turn. No compassion or empathy. Finally, we get seated by one of the waitresses. She says pick any table within minutes of clocking in. Hostess gave us such a hard time and created the worst experience after that. She’s not friendly face for the company and very unwelcoming vibe. So now we put in our order and waited another 45-60 minutes for the food to arrive at our table. Garbage is on the floor and flys everywhere in the restaurant. Not sure how they got an A. Almost felt on purpose that they left the garbage on the floor next to my father’s feet. I couldn’t enjoy my food. Everything was so disgusting and made me more livid. Waitress tried to be nice and alleviate the situation but it was too late. It’s very sad because I begged my parents to have a wonderful dinner with me at the famous Mario’s but never again. We boxed our food immediately because of all the flys everywhere. Very disappointed with the dirtiness, and bad attitude from everyone and food is not cheap for this type of treatment.
My first time going here bad experience limited parking than you have to sign and wait to be seated. and the worse we waited 30 minutes for our food i don’t know if it was only us because i saw some people that went in at the same time got served their food first than us.. disappointed and the food not really tasty as Don Felix peruvian food . Not going back …
