Avis sur Numero Uno Los Angeles
Numero Uno Pizza never fails. It's one of the last enduring L.A. institutions from my childhood. Despite corruption from Cali's politicians, Numero Uno hasn't gone out of business or amazingly decided to leave the state. My in-laws are visiting, and I took them there to get food and they were impressed. Very unique Chicago style deep dish pizza in this crazy town.
The Best. Period. I've eaten pizzas everywhere and all types. NY, Chicago, etc. The secret to Numero UNO's pizza is that their ingredients are FRESH (and not over cooked) and their pizza dough is amazing. NOTE: this location is the original Numero Uno from 1973. Don't get me wrong, I like other type of Pizzas, but I CRAVE Numero Uno.
I ordered a Veggie pizza 🍕 It was delivered on time. The Original Crust is so good 😊 The veggie pizza is fresh and delicious 😋 I think that Numero Uno is the best pizza. I highly recommend Numero Uno 😁
Just ate their pizza (we had a supreme and a pepperoni) at a friend's party, it was SO GOOD. I'm getting rid of my Pizza Hit love, this is my new favorite. Crust: Delicious. Toppings: Delicious. And the cheese on top takes it over the top. Great pizza.
I called for a pizza to be pick up aervi e was great starting with the person answering the phone (robert) by the time I got here that has it ready on time price was reasonable the place has a patio that is great to eat swell I will go back again thx for the service
We have been coming here for more than 10+ years! Hands down the best pizza in town. Real mozzarella cheese! You don't get that anymore at other pizza places. We always get their pizza...sometimes their wings & mozzarella sticks. Nothing else. Lol Atmosphere is just alright...but we always do take out. My favorite part is how they always open the pizza box to show you their delicious hot pizza when u go pick it up :)
Not much Chicago pizza out here. This one is really good though! The wings are bomb! Crispy breading and ' the works ' is my fav!
Took my Wife for her 1st time while visiting L.A. Same quality like I was raised on! The fresh toppings (Beef/Pineapple) and that crust!!! God Bless you L.A.! #ThaGRINDERS
Place is great. Wish we had more places like this around
Best pizza never can go wrong at this location. The man there always treats me and my girls like family. Cost more than other pizza places but the ingredients used are better. Not to mention everywhere to eat cost more. Best customer service.
Grew up in LA and since the 80s Numero Uno has always been a favorite. When I come back to visit I always stop by and have never been disappointed. Got a large slaughterhouse and dinner salad. The pizza was perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients. The salad was made the same day and delicious. A large pizza and salad was $20 so I consider that a good deal. The one guy working was friendly and accommodating. Since the indoor dinning area was closed he set us up at a little table out back next to some locals. 5 stars on everything.
The place has a very relaxing mood.
The classic Numero Uno style pizza. Well-made and affordable
The family who operates this business certainly knows how to treat customers. Been there at least three times and I was impressed each time. It's kinda hidden in the community. The owner is hands on, greets customer, takes orders and seems very familiar with repeat customers. Great value and great pizza made to order.
Yummy food! GREAT prices!! Had the chicken parm sammie, $8.99, and lasagne, $9.99. Excellent! Good quality ingredients, nice portion size.
Reminds me of places I used to go with my family when I was a kid. The owner knows everyone by name. The staff is very welcoming. You feel at home. A nice place to have a good time with family and friends. Portions are generous and the food is tasty.
Yo, Let me say Numero Uno is always one of the pillared restaurants for pizza. Been around since I was a kid and I'm older older ya know! You can definitely rely on Numero Uno to be the same recipe with all the hearty love it's been providing all these years.
Numero uno has been a 35 year favorite pizza place for my family. My son are pizza men. My daughters crave the sweet pizza dough. Yesterday, it was the awesome treat for my son 30 birthday. They came through with 5 stars. I always pick up myself just to smell the dough cooking.
Great pizza with fresh ingredients, I don’t think there’s a better pizza in the area
It's numero Uno. If you loved it back then you will love it now. If it's been a while, the crust is a bit on the sweeter side. Even then I still love it. The only reason I don't eat there as much, the location.
The pizza was amazing and the mac & cheese too, and the Pasta I’m really good service but the only bad thing is that they smoke but it’s not that much but other than that it’s really amazing. 5 Out of five
The best pizza on the planet and you can still find it here! I've been a fan for decades, and this particular location is still doing it right
I started going to this location in the late eighties or early nineties. I have loved Numero Uno pizza ever since. I was in the area and craving a pizza. If you love a thick crust pizza with fresh tomatoes and whatever whatever; then this is your spot. Stop by grab one and thank me later.
Cute hole in the wall place with a nice owner and great pizza! Been craving this pizza for two years and it did not disappoint 🎶🍕✨
It's all soooooo tasty and really nutritious. This place always has such good pizza and other delicious items !!!! I'm a regular client. Nice atmosphere if you want to eat at this place.
Owner & his wife are great people. I wish more people knew this location existed. Was just there with my Goddaughter (another Ethiopian restaurant owner) the other night & the food was just as good as it was 20 years ago when I first went there. Always quick & friendly service.
The pizza's amazing but lately my usual baked ravioli orders I've had this year has been either completely off or lackluster in taste and preparation. Idk if there's a new chef/staff but I'm definitely missing the old taste and preparation I once had when I first started coming to the establishment.
Got takeout. Place is straight out of 1988 and is nothing to look at. But. The pizza was still good like it was back in the day. Probably the reason it’s still open. The crust is still one of a kind. It’s deep dish but not. You could do a lot worst pizza wise. It needs some updating though. ASAP
We love Numero Uno Pizza. This location no longer has dinning inside. You can pick up or have it delivered. It is also on 5770 Obama Blvd, the street name Rodeo Rd. changed to Obama Blvd. some years back, but either address will get you there. This place seems to be hanging on by a thread. It is sad because their pizza is great, but I can't even find them on the main website. It is a franchise and should get some marketing. Call before you go to get your pizza. We ordered on line for a certain time and they called us to say they would not be open for another few hours. We were fine to wait and picked up our pizza, but they really need to be consistent with their noted hours. Their pizza was great, just as we expected. It is a thick crust with some sweetness and you can have anything put on it and you will love it. They also have sides that are super tasty. They really need the business so if you are anywhere near, get some pizza. It is great.
Its always good i got a medium pepperoni, sausage & black olives pizza for $16.90. The owner is pleasant, not overly friendly but nice. He doesn't have delivery, i guess cause its not that busy but i live close so its ok
I grew up preferring Numero Uno to Dominoes and Pizza Hut. I appreciated their butter crust and robust sauce. I will still order a personal pizza with chicken sausage to go. Service is friendly and efficient. Atmosphere needs tlc. I would not eat here as it is dark and heavily outdated. Parking is ample. They take cash or card.
Love the pizza! The lady at the pick up order stop had about as much personality as a doorknob.
First off allow me to say I Love Numero Uno Pizza. I have been going to this location for a number of years. However, over the years the guy who takes the order over the phone and on person has become a problem. Now the problem: I called to place my order and the person (man) hung up on me twice. Once he finally took my order I asked for his name (he hung up on me). Upon picking up on my order I asked for his name the manager name and owner ( he refused again to provide such information) On this day (Saturday, February 27, 2021 while waiting for my order, numerous of customers came in and had to repeat themselves over and over again. Once is fine but 3 and 4 times is unbelievable. I ask the owner to look into this.
Poor attention to detail, will miss items completely, beware. I really wish I could rate this place higher as I love their pizza especially with that sweet dough. The service is generally awful though. I really hate when restaurants take in 3rd party delivery orders and treat them like garbage. I had ordered 5 items of all different categories, and the only two things which came out right were the pizza and the bread puffs. This is not acceptable. A restaurant should deliver every menu item as best they can but unfortunately this place does not care to do that. One of the items I ordered was spaghetti with meat sauce and I added a note asking for extra sauce as I like my spaghetti really wet. I received a big portion of noodles which had maybe 2 tablespoons of sauce on it. When you mixed it, the noodles were hardly coated with sauce. I had to heat up some marinara to add to the spaghetti in order to be able to even eat it. Now I get it, this is a pizza place, I should not be judging them based on their pasta presentation. Now think about this for a second: when YOU make spaghetti at home and serve it to your family, you THINK about how much sauce to use, because you have eyes and can judge what is going to be enjoyable to eat etc. The person who prepared my spaghetti at Numero Uno did not even BOTHER to consider whether or not the dish was put together at all. It is absolutely disgusting that a person would make such a simple mistake like this, and makes me think that the people preparing my meal just do not care how it is taken in by the end customer. Some other notes about my order: The cold cut sandwich was put on this awful grainy bread. I do not suggest ordering this sandwich unless you enjoy eating a cold cut sandwich essentially put onto a giant hot dog bun. Terrible. I ended up eating the meat and giving the bread to my chickens. It just wasn't enjoyable to eat the bread at all. They completely forgot to include my tiramisu with my order. Or maybe they didn't have it? I will never know because no one bothered to try to contact me about this, so I assume they just forgot it. This business will not be receiving my patronage ever again. There are other Numero Uno franchises in Los Angeles which I have never had issues like this with, as well there are a multitude of better pizza places in general in Los Angeles. I suggest anyone who has read this far to simply NOT give this place your business. Judging but their rating and the reviews, it seems that this place is likely to never recover and honestly does not belong to be in business at all due to their gross disregard for providing good food and service as well as their poor management.
Ordered a thin crust pizza & it was vey greasy & underwhelming . Also ordered a 6 piece hot wing that tasted like it came from the back of the freezer. They were very gummy like Walmart frozen section wings. The only chef in the back gave me my ordered & said,” what kind of establishment is this right.” Not sure if he was as joking, but why say that ?
Very horrible service, I saw a roach. The owner gets mad at me for seeing them. I told him in a discreet way. His response well things happen. I'm was so shocked! Mind you this was my 1st time here, then he was so snappy with taking my order. I handle cancel everything and left. Hes very rude, very short with guest, I was totally blown away. It looks so creepy inside it looks very dingy dark and not welcoming at all. He's not welcoming at all either
hair in the pizza!!! this was the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant in my life. I came in to this restaurant with my kids and from the start it was an unpleasant experience. we walked in and there was no one tending the place. There was only one customer there. My kids really wanted pizza so we decided to wait. we rang a bell for more than 5 min and finally an angry looking hispanic man showed up and said I was ringing the wrong bell. He told us to sit anywhere and took our order. Apparently he was the waiter and cook and cashier for the day. about 10 minutes later a middle eastern man showed up. I asked if he was the owner and in a very rude manner he said "no" " some white people are the owners" he said. I asked if he was the manager he said "no" he never told me who he was but went into the kitchen and when my pizzas were done he brought them to me. I gave my daughter a slice and before she could take a bite I noticed there was a hair on the pizza. I called that (Middle eastern man) and told him that there was a hair on the pizza. He got very angry, took the pizza and looked at it and said I was lying. He said "there is no hair, there is no hair" I pointed at the hair and he said "well I don't know where the hair came from but it didn't come from the cook or me" implying that I had put the hair on the pizza. I said "what sort of service is this? He Said "you are a complainer from the beginning you started asking questions. If I am the owner or the manager" If you don't want the pizza leave" I immediately took my kids and left that place. I feel bad for the owners of this place. Having employees like those two is the best way to go bankrupt.
I love Numero Uno Pizza as a franchise. But this location has to be the worst in customer service and food quality. I've been there in the past and the pizza and bread puffs came out burnt or overcooked each time. So I stopped going to that location. But it had been a few years (since I prefer the customer service and quality at the Wilshire location) and I saw them in the Slice App. I placed an order, they cancelled because no delivery driver. Fine. I called Numero Uno and they said driver not available until after 4pm. Fine. I informed them that I'll just place an order later after 4pm. So I was ordering in the evening when this time order goes through. However, I called Numero Uno make sure all is okay. Aside from the person on the phone having a rude tone that seemed annoyed by my calling (which given the issue before, I wanted to make sure no issues this time), they then rudely tell me how they do not deliver to my address (less than 3mi away). Why be on the Slice app as available for delivery in my area if not actually available???? Slice, to its credit, tried to remedy the situation and Numero Uno tried to say I gave the wrong address, which I didn't, and that they had tried to deliver. However, why didn't Slice update me on this? I had given up on the canceled order and went to lunch with family instead. This all was just a frustrating and antagonistic customer service issue with this location. I should have went with better judgment and go to the Numero Uno on Wilshire that has always been great since going there when I was younger.
How does this place not sell their famous Parmesan chicken wings?! It’s on their website. It’s so odd they don’t sell the same stuff as other locations do
Ordered lemon chicken with fettuccine got a bowl of fettuccine and sauce with And a hard piece of bread crumb. No taste no flavor. 1st and last time ever ordering from here.
Ordered a 2x pep pizza. I have never had something this bad in decades. It was covered in mozzarella, lil sauce & no taste. I’d rather have dental surgery before I’d ever eat here.
I order from this numero uno at least once a week because my kids love the pizza there. Today if I could give a double negative for customer service and satisfaction I would! I went in tonight to order my food and the man taking my order behaved as if he didn’t understand what I was asking for. I ordered a large pizza and at first an order of wings. Before he completed the order I looked at the menu again and asked for him to please change the order because i decided I wanted pasta instead of the wings. He asked if I wanted chicken on my pasta and which costs $4 extra. I then repeated myself and said please make sure you take the wings off, I do not want them. He proceeds to add everything up. I then notice once he has my card the the bill is over $40, now keep in mind I’ve already handed him my debit card and I’m asking him why it’s $41. He literally says nothing. So I’m thinking ok maybe the receipt will be itemized. Nope just the amount. So I ring the bell and try to yell without being disruptive excuse me to get his Attention. He ignores me. I stand at the window for 5 minutes saying excuse me again he ignores me. When he brings out my food he has the chicken wings. So I then say I asked you to take the wings off, no wonder my bill is over $40. Again he gives me the blank stare. I say it again. He then replies you said you wanted wings, to which I reply I asked you to cancel the wings and give me pasta instead. So he ignores everything I’m saying. I then ask for the manager twice on the 3rd time me asking for the manager he with an attitude says he’s not here and shoves the food in my direction as if he has this attitude of oh well too bad. It’s really the lack of customer service. At this point I will not be spending my money there anymore, I will make sure to let my family and friends who order from that location to not order from there also. He could’ve at least apologized for the mistake, he simply didn’t care. Shame, shame.
I'm sorry to do this to a family owned business, but this place is a bio hazard waiting to happen! I had to apologize to my wife for taking her here. The table was covered in black something, the bathrooms were like a toxic waste dump, and they didn't seem to understand what it's like to have someone dine in. Again, I'm sorry to the owners, but you need to keep eating establishments clean!
Cooks in the back talk too much and don’t get the food done in a promptly manner.
Got a deal on pasta and salad, wish we got some pizza instead. Caesar salad had stale croutons and the linguine had sauce that was literally watery. They need to strain their pasta before dumping it into sauce. Not sure if we'll be visiting again
It's obvious customer service is not a priority here. Then to get home and the food is subpar. Very disappointing. I will never come back to this location.
Do yourself a favor and skip this place. I am a big fan of Numero Uno Pizza as a whole, but this place bears only a skin deep resemblance to the chain. We ordered a lunch special which includes a drink. No water available except bottles. The salad came in a to-go box, and the pizza was less than appealing. (I asked for red onions as the one topping, not realizing they would use pickled red onions on the pizza!) For the drink, I was told to pick one from the case. The Romano puffs were barely cooked and raw on the inside. When we went to pay, they wanted to charge $4 extra for the drinks, as I evidently chose the wrong one. (I didn't realize "pick any drink from the case" meant only the ones in a can. ) I guess we should have known something was off when a pizza place has only two customers at 1 pm. I was wondering if, perhaps, this place serves as a nightclub in the evening, as there was a small stage with a microphone and an amp. My friend thought it looked like an old speakeasy or gambling hall.
Terrible service. I don't know if it's racism, misogyny, or a mix of both but their service was absolutely terrible
