Service was Swift! Waitress was kind! Generous on portions! Guacamole was like my mothers, Beans like my Grandma. Fish tacos were delicious. I’m coming back real soon. New favorite place!

Was in town working so we drove around looking for a nice authentic Mexican restaurant thru Los Fresnos and this place caught my eye. I'm not always correct but I was about this spot. Worked in town two days and both days stopped by here. Usually packed places mean it's good food but you might have to wait for service. Well not here. Not only were they super fast and kind but the drinks seemed endless. Chips were crunchy how they are supposed to be and the dipping sauce was spicy as, well you know. Anybody that attends you is great but Amanda is FIRST CLASS!!!

Been recommended to us in the past but we have never had an opportunity to stop. It is a great find and is now on our list of favorites in the area. Plenty of excellent choices and a wide variety of MX and American dishes. Great prices and our server Hanna was just a treat and very helpful. She added a dose of happiness to the meal.

We were working hard washing trash bins in the Los Fresnos area for our wonderful customers there and we needed a quick lunch. Julia"s Restaurant may have made me the best darn burger I have ever had! My wife's salad was also amazing. great restaurant with awesome food and service.

Great food and friendly service. We ate dinner, then went back for lunch the next morning. The grilled Salmon was delicious. My husband had fajitas, which he said were really good. I had a vegi inlet for breakfast, which was light and fluffy. The prices were much lower than expected. I wish we lived in the area and could eat there every week!

The chicken fajita taco and the chicken fajita monterrey lunch plate were so delicious. The tacos are a great size, and 1 taco was perfect. The atmosphere was nice and the place was clean. We stop by to eat here every time we make a trip to the island.

Christmas eve morning. I took my dad to julias and i have to say they were fantastic. They were quick, polite and food was very good. I would go there every day if lived. But when i go back. That will be the first place i go to eat. Loved our waitress. I hope the tip made her day.

What a lovely surprise! Like walking into a 1950s diner! The decor is so cute and cheerful. Our server Sebastian was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be going back to try the rest of their menu. :)

Always excellent food, excellent service, clean and the friendliest staff you'll ever meet. Tip your servers well, they really work for it. The only thing I'll say is a bit too much ketchup in the cocktail, maybe revisit that recipe a bit (it's still very good). And I wish they had an aguachili or ceviche dish because they would do it right based on everything else we've had there. Julia's reminds me of the diners back in Jersey, they have a huge menu with a bit of everything and they nail every dish. Keep it up, we'll keep on coming back. We actually drive from the island to eat here.

For years we have past this restaurant and had no clue what they served. Today we wanted Mexican food after we spent time at the beach and this restaurant showed up with delicious looking pictures. We got the beef taco platter, Swiss mushroom burger and southern style burger and everything was so delicious! We recommend to Stop there. We can’t wait to try another dish!

I've been here off and on for about 25 years. Coming during December this year, the vegetable soup was the best, best surprise. Friendly and attentive service is a Julia's trademark. And you can't go wrong with coffee and dessert with friends. I'll keep coming back! Addition: The Bank Taco is a wobderful breakfast, and enough for lunch, too.

Service was very fast. Staff were attentive. My husband had the grilled tilapia with shrimp as it was Friday during Lent and I had Fajita enchiladas chicken. Both of us enjoyed our meals. We were visiting but I think everyone else were locals. NJ

The place is dated but dated like a comfortable shoe, and older but reliable car. There's a welcoming dealing you get that you don't in formica, glass and cement restaurants.

We're from out of town and stopped at Julio's restaurant by chance. We enjoyed our food but it was made memorable and festive because of our waitress Erica. She was so enjoyable and treated us as if we were family. We will be definitely be back because of Erica..

Such a cute place with so much history. Breakfast was delicious; as if abuela had prepared. We ended up ordering two pancakes afterwards which were the perfect ending to our meal. The service was excellent! We never ran out of hot coffee. We'll definitely return one day.

Just an amazing little restaurant in a cool little Texas town. Was passing thru on our way home from SPI and stopped for breakfast. Man everything tasted fresh and home made. Good sized portion of homestyle cooking, great service, and fair prices. Daily specials are great options. Wide selection on the menu. I dined with a large group. Our orders were spot on and delivered in a timely fashion. Just be forewarned that they add an extra charge to use a credit card, so be prepared to pay cash or use a debit card if you don't like paying extra fees.

I love Julia’s! I grew up in Los Fresnos many years ago. When we come down to the valley I always order their breakfast tacos! They are a hearty breakfast, too! Love their flour tortillas and beans also! We went to Mr Rushmore in South Dakota once several years ago. A lady who worked in the gift shop there recognized my Texas accent and asked where we were from . I told her Los Fresnos Texas. She asked me if knew about Julia’s and I told her Yes I do! Julia’s is my favourite place in town!!

Good food, good service, friendly staff. Angel took care of us today. The homemade flour tortillas were large and delicious. The corn tortillas in my migas were just the right crispness. Their carne guisada supreme platter was very tasty and portions were generous. This is the place to stop heading to or from SPI. Just remember, they're closed on Sundays.

On our way to South Padre we stopped at this Mexican Restaurant. I ordered the Fajita and enchilada plate. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Most importantly the food was served hot! Waiter, I forgot his name, was very helpful and was always checking to make sure we did not need anything. We were there with around 20 friends and I did not hear one bad thing about the food or service. I would definitely go there again if I'm in the area again.

The tacos were so fresh, hot and huge!! The service was outstanding too--sweet and professional waitress. The ladies restroom was also clean...I highly recommend this restaurant!!

I had breakfast here with my brother after we left the island. I had the western omelette which had onions, peppers and cheese in it. My brother had a chilaquiles plate and coffee. We both enjoyed our food which was tasty and hot. The service was a bit slow but the staff were friendly. Nice little spot, clean and welcoming.

Wonderful place! We stop here every year on our trip to South Padre Island. I am a vegetarian and when I asked about options the waiter was very helpful and knew what ingredients were in the food. He made suggestions and substitutions to create a super delicious veggie meal that was not on the menu. Food came out fast. They were on top of everything!

Julia's is a nice restaurant in Los Fresnos. The service is good, the food is delicious and you can also order items off menu. Located along the town's main street, if you are from out of town heading to the beach, this is a nice place to stop for a meal before getting to the beautiful view of South Padre Island.

This is a historic area in Los Fresnos. It's been around for a long time. Julia's stays up to date and their food is delicious. Service is usually good. During our last visit they took awhile to serve our meal. It was worth the wait.

Food is good, service was good, atmosphere was also good. Prices are fair. All in all it was a good dinning experience. I would come back.

We all liked the sea food we eat.

For starters, the wait staff was very friendly. It is a big place that has three different dining areas and very clean. The food was wonderful. It tasted like it came from your mother’s kitchen. Everything including the queso was well seasoned. The tortillas were very big and perfectly made. They also have an ice cream bar stocked with Blue Bell. We will be back on our next vacation. The plates were also priced very affordable.

Both breakfast lunch n dinner are absolutely home style cooking. Easy access, plenty of parking. What else could you want? Awesome service, great food and even Ice cream.. Ok food. Worth the price. The only place with a carne guisada taco in a flour tortilla. Big Daddys took it off the menu.

I have mixed reviews for this visit. The food was decent however it was so noisy that our group left before finishing our meal. A very large group of cyclists had came in and we literally couldn't hear each other. That coupled with the slow service that dayis the reason for only 3 stars.

I mean, it's okay? The eggs came out raw on two of our orders, the tea I ordered tasted like bad filtered water, it honestly wasn't that good. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for good mexican food, but for a simple meal I suppose it will do.

Went today to play a bingo with 26 ladies, restaurant was set up good and very spacious. Servers were awesome until the owner came and started saying we were taking to much space and parking space that she needed us out by 12. We had all ordered food and drinks and had booked the area in advance. She was very very rude and unprofessional. She said she makes more money selling to other customers she said manager didn’t advice her and she wanted us to hurry up and order si we could leave. Worst experience ever so don’t book your events here. I understand she was the owner but she should have spoke to her manager and maybe spoken to host on the side instead of making a scene and making everyone uncomfortable.

Didn't get what I ordered, I ordered migas(corn tortillas and eggs fried up together. I got chips and eggs. Two strips of extra crisp bacon)waitress offered to correct it but I have never sent anything back. You'll know why.

It was really hot and stuffy inside, there were many available tables but none had been picked up. We were told we can sit wherever, so we did and no one ever came by to clean up the table nor take our order. Waited about 15 minutes, servers going to every table around us but nothing towards us, we left. Interior decor was really cute I'll give it that.

I was a fan of this restaurant but after today's visit I will no longer be going. The food was horrible! Starting with the water my daughter ordered, it tasted worse then tap water, the rice and flower tortillas were so hard seemed like they had been sitting for a while. The restrooms smelled and were filthy dirty. The walls in the stalls definatly need some deep cleaning.

Tell me why my bill was $47 for breakfast tacos?! 2 potatoes & egg, 2 bean & cheese, 1 bean & egg and 2 barbacoa. 2 drinks. My husband went back in and they gave him $4 back. Called ahead of time to place order. We got there & order wasn’t even placed. Order was wrong, barbacoa tacos were swimming in grease. Staff was arguing among themselves. so unprofessional. Never going back & I suggest you don’t either.

First time eating there, experience was not that well food was good but the rice needed improvement it was hard.. waitress was too bizzy could find and had to ask other waiters. Had to get my own refills. The one thing that was cool was the cashier guy he apologized and helped out a bit..

Bad! bad! bad! Service, took 20 min to order drinks cleaned my own table grabbed my own menus then had to remind them after reaching about 40 min waiting. that we needed to have someone take our order. On the positive the cashier was very helpful providing us with salsa,straws and and courtesy when waiter forgot to bring these requested items to our table.

Yes they were busy buy we had to wait for a menu and others who came in later were served first. After ordering had to wait 30 minutes to get our breakfast. Othera that came in much later than us were served shortly after. Never was offered a coffee refill so they got cold. Had to ask for our check and the guy asked which waitress. Youngest, older and oldest. Had no idea how she compared to the others and he said So you don't know who your waitress is loudly. Was a bit embarrassing. Not going back.

My son-in-law came to visit from San Diego and he wanted to eat some authentic Mexican Food. One of the worst experiences we've ever had. Service was horrible! He ended up getting food poisoning from what he ate. Carne Guisada, enchiladas, and a taco. I had the fish and shrimp combo. I had to return my fish because it was raw. They didn't offer a discount or anything like that! I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and we will not be going back again.

Do not go here. My family and I stopped for breakfast that was $40 altogether. The main lady with greyish white hair, charged my card $426.97 TWICE!!! We waited 25 minutes for them to figure out how to give me over $800 back. They did not give us the meal for free they gave us a 3% discount for our “inconvenience”. Now, I am out $800 for 10 days, which I needed. Do not go here unless you are going to pay with cash.

Showed up for breakfast and got huevos rancheros and my wife got chilaquiles everything was good until we were about done with our food and over heard one of the older waiters telling the new waiter not to throw the salsa from the table she was cleaning because it was still good as she walked off with the salsa and took it to the back, You could imagine how off putting it was as we looked at our plates that were drenched in salsa not knowing if ours was reused.That is just unacceptable it’s un ethical and violation of health code I wasn’t planning on leaving a review, I was just planning on not going back but the public needs to be aware eat at your own risk.
