Stopped in for take out dinner. Food is great plenty of flavor. Fast service. Would recommend.
The food was yummy and affordable! The service was excellent!!! I had some enchilada casseroles made for an event and all the staff I spoke with were helpful and friendly. Eddie made sure that everything went smoothly!
We stopped in as we were passing through town for dinner. The service was fast and amazing. The servers were very attentive, checking on us often. The food was delicious! Will definitely stop by again!
This was my first time visiting this location and they were very busy. Almost every table was full. Regardless of them being so busy the waittresses were extremely attentive and polite. I could see their staff constantly multi-tasking. I worked in food service for a long time and know how difficult it is to keep the place spotless during busy times and this place was kept very clean throughout. I could see the cooks in the kitchen constantly working and never losing their focus. The food came oit piping hot and fresh. It tasted great. It was also a large enough portion that I am going to turn this into at least three meals. Great job Sal's. I will definitely revisit.
During a business trip to Madera, we discovered a noteworthy restaurant and decided to dine there. The service was exceptional, and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend a visit; you would be missing out otherwise. Furthermore, I suggest reviewing its history; its origins are quite compelling.
After hearing about Sal’s from many people, I finally gave them a try! I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered half and half fajitas and they were great. (Only came with two tortillas though) My friend raves about and ordered the enchiladas. I gave them a try and was surprised at how delicious they were. I regret not ordering them because “I can make my own enchilada sauce at home”, but these were delicious and the next time I go I’ll be ordering them for sure! The staff was VERY attentive. Like to the point towards the end it was a little annoying, but honestly it was great and I didn’t mind that much because they weren’t overbearing, just checking in. The fried ice cream was very sad though. It wasn’t freshly fried and you could tell they just grabbed it out of the freezer :(.
I’m so glad I stumbled across this place! The service was excellent! The waitresses were attentive and generous with the chips and salsa and drink refills. I was craving crunchy tacos with cheese. Not many places make these any more. They were large and so flavorful. I would highly recommend this place.
Not my first time here, but I needed to be sure, food is ok, definitely not so great, tacos were decent, best than the enchiladas and the nachos, the enchiladas suizas could have more sauce, which in reality that's the main point of that type of enchiladas, the nachos could have better flavor, for some reason they were bland so yeah. The service is good. Overall, I don't think I would come back.
I can summarize in one word "disappointing". We were here years ago and it was amazing full of flavor and worth the strip mall cramped dining experience. This time it was very "americanized" bland food, I had to drown it in salsa to get some flavor. The whole pointvof a strip mall dining is the food or the price. Its not the service or the atmosphere, sadly they failed both. The food was mediocre at best abd the list was high. Just disappointed all around.
They had good pricing for the account of food. Great selections available. I love the combination plate being able to try different foods. The quesadilla and rice was flavorful. Salsa was nice and spicy. The taco was blander. Tamale has a nice sauce. Service was quick and consistent. No long wait.
I’ve ate here about 10 times within the past few years. Have to say today wasn’t as good as the other times though. My Chile Verde Wet Burrito had no rice even though that’s what I asked for. It was delicious, but i prefer when the food is made to order. It was still a nice lunch with my husband and mother-in-law while we were in Madera.
Food was pretty disappointing. I ordered the shredded beef quesadilla. There was too much meat and not enough cheese. The meat was too salty and overcooked. Also used too much oil and made the tortillas soggy.
My husband and I use to come here alot and was treated great, but he's passed and I went by myself and it was a late Thursday afternoon wasn't busy. Got seated and no one checked on for 30 minutes. I finally called out to someone which she didn't look happy, like I was annoying her. I ordered 1 fish taco to eat there and a combo plate to go...heck man another 30 minutes went by. Needless to say I WONT BE BACK.
Crowded, sat outside. Didn't have utensils. Ordered the fajitasThe chicken was very dry, no flavor . The service was amazing. The people were friendly.. I will come back and try the enchiladas, because that's what I came for and ended up changing my mind. Also, the other person with me ordered a chicken burrito. And they gave it 3/5..
They had incredibly dirty dishes and extremely smeared cutlery. The service was horrible I had to wait 25 minutes for a refill of my water and a extra 10 for my order to be taken, it was not overly packed and it was decently empty and yet they still took a long time. Our table was dirty and the food took almost 30 minutes to get to us. The food was horrible a sad joke for Mexican food, my burrito was plain, a complete lack of seasoning, I could go from the lack of flavor in the rice to the dry clearly old meat to the store bought tortillas, this place is a mess and when I asked for salsa they served me something that tasted like water. The quesadilla was drenched in a pool of water from the ground beef they had used, this place is truly a sad excuse for a restaurant. A former image of itself and most likely never going to return to that greatness
Haven’t been to Sals in years, this is a grilled chicken salad and I paid $5 extra to have it grilled. This is after I ordered the chicken salad not knowing they serve boiled chicken? No flavor, this looks like the boiled chicken that the put in a pan if that!! $15 and it’s going in the trash!!
