This was a great spot for Father’s Day. The food was delicious, everything was cravable. We all shared the chicken fried rice, beef and broccoli and dumplings. It was really good and the service was also impressive.
Beautiful ambiance inside and out. It is always busy in the front, especially the bar area. For good reason though. Drinks are phenomenal. I had a lychee martini, non alcoholic, and it was beautifully done and tasted fantastic. The table service is great. They are really attentive. The staff is quick to refill drinks and clean off the table as you go. The food was delicious. I loved my dish of braised beef with peanut noodles. So much flavor! And very generous for the prefix. The prefix allowed me an appetizer of choice, i picked the chicken skewers. It came with two generous skewers. Then the entree and a dessert. For dessert i picked the banana wontons. It came with lilikoi tasting like homemade whipped cream and scoop of sorbet. The sorbet was delicious! Definitely a great place for lunch. Great price, fantastic service, and top tier service.
I go here pretty often, hit or miss, I’m giving 5 stars because not a lot of good places on Long Island, this is a good spot to go and just network and meet local people from the island & good dinner or Sunday lunch spot, especially after shopping. Check it out
The fried rice was a big portion and really tasty. The palm beach roll was really good, I also ordered the spicy tuna one and I liked that it wasn’t too spicy it only had a kick. The honey glazed chicken was ok, good taste but i feel like a little hard. The banana wonton dessert was amazing I would’ve finished it if i wasn’t too full. Service was quick and great!
Toku is the perfect blend of upscale elegance and vibrant atmosphere. The Asian fusion menu is creative and has a wide variety of flavors that cater to every palate. Plus, the cocktail menu is just as impressive. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and quick to accommodate any special requests or preferences. Lastly, the ambience at Toku is sleek and stylish.
This is a great spot! Service is excellent! Food is perfect ! The bar is busy. Everyone is happy and welcoming. I will be back! Never did I feel rushed. We did not have a reservation as it was after lunch and before dinner. I recommend calling for a reservation for regular dining times. The vibe is great here !
Toku has been my go to spot for lunch when I meet up with friends. Ambience and service are amazing. My daughter had her Sweet 16 birthday party here so I’ve been coming to Toku over a decade. Food has been consistently good. I like the lunch bento which changes daily. The staff made my friend’s birthday a very special one by singing and bringing a delicious dessert with a candle.
Love the food here. Was lucky to get a table outside so we could enjoy the perfect weather. Food as always was amazing. Shrimp was fresh, sushi roll was delicious and the rice wirh egg was top notch. Highly recommend stopping in for a drink or appetizer if your shopping or even in the area.
Went for a late night dinner with another couple on a Saturday, and I couldn’t belie how packed out the place was at 10pm. It def has more of a lounge vibe after hours. I’ve been here years ago for normal dinner time and it was much calmer. The food was delicious as usual. Everything was amazing despite the kitchen being close to closing time. Everything was fresh and delivered on taste. Service from our waiter was fine but not as attentive due to the place being so busy. Overall, would return because the place is beautiful and the food is great! I highly recommend.
Lunch at Toku is a nice getaway at manhasset mall. As a vegetarian, the staff was able to make a lot of accommodations and came back to double check on a few substitutions that the kitchen proposed making. Busy on the weekends with the usual uppity crowd. Drinks are good. Food is decent. Would come back though there are lots of options if you’re driving around the area.
My family and I came here for lunch, drawn in by the lively atmosphere and the abundance of outdoor seating. The service was attentive and polished, consistent with what you’d expect from a fine dining establishment. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the setting. We were seated toward the back of the restaurant and dealt with an ongoing issue of fruit flies and other insects, which made the meal less enjoyable. As for the food, it was underwhelming given the premium price point. I ordered the Wagyu steak (medium), which was precut and served with neatly stacked fries. Presentation aside, it was one of the most mediocre steaks I’ve had—when I can prepare a better one at home, that’s not a good sign. The sushi rolls were average, the crispy rice was just okay, and the tuna pizza, while tasty, lacked that “wow” factor. The lunch prix fixe menu was serviceable but forgettable; the Pad Thai noodles, in particular, were disappointing, especially considering I’ve had far better versions at a fraction of the cost in Flushing. Overall, while the service and ambiance were positives, the food quality and value simply weren’t there. For the price, I expected a much more memorable experience. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
Visited my go-to local spot Toku again, but this time I found a hair in my food, this experience was dissatisfying. They did take off the dish from the bill, however I expected they took more responsibility and addressed my concerns. Even just an acknowledgment of this by the manager would have been appreciated.
Had the worst experience due to poor seating. Made reservation 2 weeks prior. Requested booth but didn’t get. Lol - that was the least of the problem. They seated us near the kitchen Enterance. Through out the night we must have gotten bumped every 1 seconds. Requested - Patricio - guy holding the iPad for quick seating turn around. He was so busy and just didn’t care. Pointed out atleast 3 different times where he could switch us. He kept saying “sorry I already have someone walking in right now” At one point the waiter carried chair on top of their head and stood next to us. Lol 😂I asked you need a hand - they laughed. Definitely not a sign of fine dining. No sorries…just bumps…and walk away. Food - average. (Nothing has changed in 20yrs) Service - average Noise - High Atmosphere - too crowded to even appreciate. Been to Toku for over 20 years … just not what it use to be. Running like McDonnald now. Don’t care about their customer. New front staff all the time…thank goodness to the American shops that keep this place alive.
Toku was once my favorite restaurant and in my opinion one of the best Asian places on the Island. I would often dine there weekly if not more. However nowadays it is far from that. Overall cleanliness in the restaurant has disappeared, food taste and quality is still good but not what it once was, and it has basically become a lounge on the weekends. It could just be age but its sad to see a place like this loose its touch. Recently visited the location in Miami and it reminded me of what the Manhasset location use to be.
Always enjoyed this place until one bad experience ruined it. The manager of this place needs to stop training the 50 men dressed in white to stop hovering and touching people’s things off their table. How is someone suppose to relax and enjoy their meal? Once, twice fine. Not 20 times every other second. I had words with one of them. The experience was so unpleasant I won’t be going back. I’ll be at Cipollini.
Recently had dinner at Toku with a party of nine, and I have to say—this place did not live up to the hype. Multiple people in our group, especially locals, swore this spot was amazing, maybe because it’s nestled among the high-end shops at Americana Manhasset. But let’s be real: name-dropping luxury retail doesn’t make the food any better. The pricing here is off the charts for what you get—subpar dishes that wouldn’t stand out at a much more modestly priced restaurant. For the money spent, we expected something truly special, not just expensive plating. To make things worse, the noise level on a packed Saturday night made it nearly impossible to hold a conversation without yelling across the table. The only saving grace? The service. Our server was attentive and professional, but unfortunately, great service couldn’t rescue a disappointing dining experience. All flash, no flavor.
What an overrated place this is. Lets start by the hostess. Black guy Infront requested that I take my hat off, which I had on because it was 20 degrees outside, but its your policy so I have no problem unless I am being singled out. At the Bar there was a person sitting with their hat on. I pointed that person out to him and he in my face stated No No they don't have a hat on. Then we got seated in a pitch black corner with no light. Flash lights on to see menu. On to the food, we had the Rock shrimp good, Shrimp Dumplings Terrible, Miso Black Cod taste like a plate of butter, the sushi Shrimp tempura, King Crab, Spicey tuna hand roll. All mediocre. On to the Pork Fried rice probably the worst rice we have ever tasted, wait NO TASTE bland as hell, all egg. Our waiter was fantastic, his service was 1st class. Best of the night were the drinks Passion Margarita, Chili Passion Martini great. For the food you are better off going to your local Asian corner spot and saving yourself a whole lot of money
Disclaimer: I’m not one to leave negative reviews unless absolutely necessary. I was really looking forward to eating here, as there is a lot of hype around this restaurant. I was unbelievably wrong. The Chicken Ramen Noodles gave me EXTREME FOOD POISONING, as confirmed by a doctor. My husband found a hair in his sesame chicken. Our waiter was extremely rude from the moment we said hello. I kept trying to flag him down for one simple request and he had the audacity to gesture for me to wait until he was done socializing. I had to ask 2 other waiters for straws because he kept forgetting to bring them. He charged me for sushi I did not receive. He also waited to see what kind of tip I’d give him, hovering over me as I entered the amount. I actually complained to him about his poor service and he laughed at me instead of apologizing. I’ve worked in customer service before and can tell you that’s not how you treat customers. Overall, this was a HORRIBLE experience and I will not be returning.
