First time at this restaurant and the experience was great. Our server was Roberto and he was awesome by far the best server. We had a birthday dinner for 20 people and He did excellent got all our drinks and food correct. We recently spent our 4th of July at La Tapatia Mexican Restaurant in Martinez, CA, and it was the perfect choice. The place was lively and welcoming, and even though it was a holiday, the service was fast and the food came out hot and fresh. If you're looking for real authentic Mexican food, this is the spot. My daughter had the crispy taco, and she normally doesn't like tacos, so when she said it was really good, I knew it had to be special. Crunchy corn tortillas, seasoned meat, fresh cheese, and salsa that hit with just the right kick. We shared the shrimp burrito, and it was packed with flavor. Pro tip: ask for fresh avocado instead of guacamole - you'll thank me later. The shrimp, sour cream, and spices brought the whole thing together. Everyone at our table loved their meals. Whether it was the chicken, pork, or beef, every dish had bold flavors and quality ingredients. We especially loved the chips and salsa, the refried beans that are served with the salsa, and the mexican rice. The drinks were strong and refreshing, perfect for the holiday celebration. The restaurant is right on Main Street, so you have great views of the parade! From mexican street food classics like tacos and burritos to more traditional mexican dishes like pozole and mole, La Tapatia delivers the mexican cuisine experience you'd hope for. The menu offers a wide range of mexican foods made with love and the kind of flavor you'd expect from a mexican restaurant. If you're craving top-notch mexican food Martinez style, you have to check this place out. We'll definitely be back!

Enjoyed a delicious Camarones a la diabla plate. The dish had bold flavor with the perfect spice. This is my favorite restaurant to eat at because the food is delicious, atmosphere is great and service is fast.Their margaritas are top notch as well!

Got lunch with my dog Shadow Our waiter was awesome & kept checking on us I got the Trio Burrito Famosa Style & man was it good. They also gave my pup a bowl of Water & a bowl with some Chicken & Steak in it. He was very thankful

I love the salsa from this place and everything else but I particularly love the salsa. I ordered 3 half pints on doordash and they hooked me up I love this place and will forever love this place 🫶 and just for refrance I'm EXTREMELY picky about my salsa, it took me years to find a place that was up to my standards in terms of salsa. Go support this place and BE NICE and PATIENT they have a shortage of cooks and staff.

We were in Downtown Martinez and decided to try El Tapatio after hearing great things about it. Even though the restaurant was busy due to a youth baseball tournament and the Farmers Market, the service was excellent, and the timing was spot on. We sat at the bar and ordered a well-priced pitcher of margaritas. For food, we had the fajitas and the trio burrito—both were delicious! We’ll definitely be back. Great vibe, friendly service, and flavorful Mexican fare
