What a brilliant hotel. This is a real mountain experience tucked away in a tiny hamlet, with a really authentic (albeit luxury) feel to it. It felt totally unique. A great experience, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, the rooms wonderful (very log cabin), delicious food and great wine. It’s a short drive to the skiing in Champoluc in the hotel shuttle/AWD down a snowy road - all part of the experience. I would also recommend the snowshoe excursions - we did two with guide Nerinka who (along with everyone else) was excellent.

fantastic place in an idealic remote location, with a great sense of escape. service is natural and very pleasant. food is sometimes great, overall very good. in particular one evening we had the tagliolini all tartuffo. the truffle was top class, even if the pasta was not a true tagliolini. But in such a remote place, one has to show a bit of understanding. staff is discreet whilst at the same time eager to help. the owner sends a welcome note on arrival. all very warmn. we will return.

What a lovely holiday we had at the Hotellerie De Mascognaz. We were there or a January weekend with friends and had the most wonderful time in this snowy paradise. Rooms: lovely rustic wood rooms with character and charm - each room was cozy and warm and had unique features - our room had a cushioned filled reading nook. Our friends room had stone stairs leading to a loft area. decorated tastefully with lots of textures and earthy colours - it was so inviting and comfortable. bathrooms were open for our room and tall hubby had a bit of a challenge in the shower under the roof slope hence baths were in order. bathroom had expected amenities (toothbrush, shower caps, bathrobes, slippers, etc). Food: excellent food at the restaurant - we had some traditional pasta dishes and cheese dishes for lunches and enjoyed the richness and flavours. our dinner table was an old stone milling wheel! We sat on the winter balcony and enjoyed the views overlooking their little valley. Service: pick up from the car park was via a snowcat, one for our luggage and one for 6x guests - 20 min ride up the mountain which was a fun experience, service was excellent from reception to checkout, nothing left wanting, lovely wait staff and bartenders, and lovely room staff helpful and brought you extra towels or anything else you needed. Spa is nicely done with a warm pool and jacuzzi and a sauna room. Not huge but more than sufficient for the hotel size. They also have robes and slippers there too so no need to lug from your room. Hard to believe its classified as 4* as this was a really lovely hotel and staff. The rooms are in different buildings hence you have to walk outside to get to the spa or dinner - bring grippy boots. Once you get your head around that, its really a good experience too see the area. on a beautiful day, you will also hikers and their dogs also walk through the hotel ‘village’ too.

A magical and unique experience - the Hotellerie has restored and inhabited this old Walser village with respect and charm to retain its authenticity and offer you all the comfort you need without excessive in-your-face luxury. It felt truly a privilege to stay up there away from it all in such beautiful natural surroundings and at the same time we were made to feel really at home by the friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent, including the vegan options they made an effort to cater for, and the wine list had some lovely local wines to try. The one day we went skiing, it took just 20 minutes from the moment we hopped on the skidoo to being dropped at the Champoluc lift station. Another day we went snowshoeing through the forest, across pristine snowfields and along the stream running through the Mascognaz valley, while snow softly fell. Every day ended with relaxing in the spa followed by an aperitif by the fire in the cosy bar and reception before dinner. I'm recommending this place to friends and family and looking forward to coming back, perhaps in summer this time. The one thing I would like to see more attention to is environmental policy and awareness - it would be great to know more about how the hotel is working to reduce its impact on - and give back to - the beautiful nature all around it, and how guests can contribute. Do they use renewable energy for the heating and spa or can they? Do they have their own vegetable and herb garden in the summer? Could the skidoos be electric? This would be appreciated.

An evening meal for 8 people. Transported by ski-doo up the mountain from Champoluc to the hotel (& return). Beautiful place, great atmosphere! Good food from a standard ski restaurant type menu. Great experience.

Nestled in the enchanting Italian Alps, Hotellerie de Mascognaz is a true gem that effortlessly combines rustic charm with modern comfort. From the moment you step into this idyllic mountain retreat, you are greeted by the warmth of traditional Alpine design – wooden beams, stone walls, and cozy, inviting spaces – yet it never feels outdated. The hotel has been thoughtfully renovated, maintaining the spirit of the region while introducing modern touches that elevate the experience. The rooms are an exquisite blend of old-world charm and contemporary luxury, offering a peaceful refuge with breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks and lush meadows. The ambiance is romantic and nostalgic, perfect for couples seeking a quiet escape. Surrounded by pristine nature, Hotellerie de Mascognaz offers more than just a place to stay – it’s an experience. Whether you're enjoying a warm cup of coffee on the terrace, gazing at the sweeping views of the Alps, or exploring the nearby hiking trails, you feel immersed in a world where time slows down, and nature takes center stage. The air is crisp, and the silence of the mountains provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection. With an excellent guide, Nerinka, you can enjoy a complimentary tour that will leave you longing for the local nature for years. In a setting this beautiful, it’s impossible not to feel a deep sense of connection to both the land and the history of the place. The cozy atmosphere and attentive staff make every moment feel special, from intimate dinners featuring local cuisine to relaxing spa treatments inspired by the surrounding natural elements. Hotellerie de Mascognaz is a perfect blend of rustic elegance, modern luxury, and nature’s quiet majesty – a place where time stands still, and you can create memories to cherish forever. I recommend it to all of my friends and family, and dream of the next chance we can return here!

My recent experience at Hotellerie de Mascognaz was truly exceptional, embodying the perfection of high mountain hospitality. Every detail was attended to with care, reflecting clear vision and impeccable management. From the warm and intimate welcome to the authentic charm of the restored 14th-century Walser chalets, comfort and tradition blend seamlessly with modern amenities. The restaurant and spa offer a haven of luxury and tranquility, while the staff, guided by attentive leadership, ensured an outstanding stay. The restoration of this historic village is a brilliant and ambitious investment, making it a true gem of Alpine hospitality.

Amazing venue when visiting for the night. Top end village hotel. An adventure getting to place, carrying out a 007 mission, then sadly bidding adieu

Straight out of a fairytale! Every single square inch of this place is picturesque. The hotel feels like a cosy mountain cabin, tucked away in the mountains, but with all of the service and comforts you could ask for. This is the most special hotel that I have ever been to and every time is better than the last. The staff make you feel at home from the moment you arrive - Stephanie in reception, Ettore, Angelo, and Laura in the restaurant, and Nerinka for excurisions are now friends after so many visits. I should also mention they’re also incredibly dog friendly. Our dog has some, shall we say, behavioral complications but they’ve always welcomed him with open arms. Truly a special place in my heart. ❤

Amazing place! The barbecue (or "grillata" as they call it here) was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a restaurant in the mountain.

Mascognaz is superb, beautifully decorated with artefacts and furniture from the area. Wonderful food and staff. Great location for walking through the Italian Alps escaping the summer heat.

A remote place perfect for unplugging. The village has retained its historical identity and is like in a time bubble. Here we spent three days surrounded by nature enjoying the privacy in our wooden chalet, the beautiful spa pool, great dinners and endless relaxation. The staff is friendly and always helpful, we were pampered from the very beginning to the end of our stay.

Where to begin... My husband and I took our first vacation in the mountains this past weekend at Hotellerie de Mascognaz and we had an incredible experience! A SPECIAL thank you to Giuseppe and Laura for their exceptional restaurant service. It's amazing to see young, passionate staff members who go above and beyond to make the guests happy. Everything was perfection, from the cozy room to the top notch service and the breathtaking surroundings! It felt as if we were in a secluded mountain village with all the comforts we could ask for. We also traveled with our English Bulldog, Rocco, and he had the best time! The staff and hotel are extremely pet friendly and we found everyone to be extremely respectful, friendly, and available. We will surely be back soon!

We stayed here about 5 weeks before the first lockdown in Feb 2020. We had the very best time! I’ve skied in many places around Europe over the last 45 years and can safely say this was the best. Hotel: great, skiing: great. Apré ski great. Food at hotel: great. Excellent fun to catch the skidoo up and down the mountain to get to and from the hotel.

The village is located in a simply stunning location. My kids (and we adults) enjoyed the snow cat rides. The chalets/rooms are designed/renovated at the highest standard. We loved the spa after a day of skiing on the slopes around Champoluc. It takes sometime to get to the ski area but that's not a news if you had a look at the map in advance. Well managed by Ms Luisella, the Hotellerie de Mascognaz is a must see on the Alps. Food was of high quality and well served in a friendly environment. I indeed recommend it and my family and l will go back again.

We stayed at Hotel Mascognaz two weeks ago. The location is stunning, our accommodations so comfortable and the service exemplary! Thank you very much for making us feel at home and for patiently following up on our mishaps. I just received the jacket I left behind. Thank you for sending it! Sincerely, Mary from Tacoma

Beautiful chalet style hotel! The hotel is actually a small village near Champoluc and is accessed by skidoos à la "James Bond". You leave your car at the parking and then you are picked by the skidoo. Each chalet is unique and had been restored with a lot of taste. The food is great (only the breakfast could need more of a loving touch). It's not ski-in/ski-out. You always need a transfer but that's part of the whole amazing experience!

Beautiful location, every detail of the renovation has been carefully thought out. Lots of walking paths from Mascognaz, with the added bonus of being able to easily reach great views as you're already part way up the mountain! The staff are all very friendly and considerate, couldn't recommend it enough for a lunch or afternoon tea stop off.

The grumpy man who drove the white pickup truck with guests to the hotel this evening is an absolute disgrace with his aggressive style and rude behaviour. The hotel is nice but you should definitely get rid of him.

Bad vibes, it feels they're more into showing "high level" vips/scammers than actually taking care ls of costumers. Beautiful suites, but again, bad bad experience overall.
