We drove across town to Ace’s BBQ on Nolana for lunch today. The food was amazing and served in huge portions. My husband got The Ace brisket sandwich with sausage with a side of creamy Mac&cheese, I had a plate of their brisket enchiladas which included 3 enchiladas stuffed with brisket rice beans and crackers & our daughter wanted refried bean tacos on corn tortillas which isn’t something on their menu but they were able to make for her. Our picky eater declared this is her new favorite restaurant after having 4 bean tacos, 1 of my stuffed enchiladas & some of my rice and beans! We all left full, happy & even left with leftovers for later (1/2 the ace sandwich). Shooter was our server and delivered the best ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ service starting with getting us our drinks quickly after immediately greeting us, (he made the best peach tea) taking our order and asking the kitchen staff about our picky eaters request for bean tacos & making sure to clear away trays and brought refills over right away. Shooter also asked our little one if she would like more tacos after her 1st serving & made sure we were all enjoying our meals. My husband and I agree with her as far as Ace’s being our new favorite restaurant. Our bill for 3 with huge meal portions and drinks/refills was under $45 and worth it! Don’t forget to tip your servers for going above and beyond! Thank you for a great dining experience shooter! We’ll be back 😁

Wow! Talk about tasty meats. This is must be by far one of the best BBQ place on the plane for sure. Also the service is fantastic. I highly recommended to everyone.

Great atmosphere, loved the drinks, the appetizers were amazing especially the rancho dip 😋😋😋😋 5 stars and the food was hot and delicious loved the brisket really moist and full of flavor topped it with their signature bbq sauce. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, portions were nice, prices very good. I ordered carry out and waited all of three minutes for my fresh and piping hot food. This is a new go to place for us. The catfish is wonderful!!!!

We were part of a group of 26 that set in room prepared for us. Mike, our server, was attentive to our needs, friendly and efficient. My husband and I shared the the 1/2 pound brisket , fried okra and potato salad. It was delicious and sauce very good.

Ignore Pablo’s review, I was eating there when a when a child threw up all of the floor. Instead of the mother or father picking up the child and taking him to the restroom after he initially threw up. They watched him throw up and then continued to eat, then he threw up not even 2 minutes later in the same spot. The family did not seem to care about their child being sick. One of the family members offered to clean up the throw up and then proceeded to dump a bunch of mop water on the floor and leave. All while the father I assume got mad at the manager. The restaurant was packed with people and servers were running around all night. And the family simply couldn’t take responsibility for their actions. The servers tried to handle the situation best they could and the family was disrespectful

Wonderfully attentive and fast service, very delicious food. My loaded potato w/ brisket was as big as a Buick and will make a whole second meal. Sweet tea was perfect. Friend took me to try it and so very glad they did.

After eating at numerous bbq places throughout the valley and Blacks BBQ in New Braunfels, we decided to try Aces BBQ. 1st, the service was fantastic! I ordered the 4 rib and moist brisket plate, and my wife ordered the moist brisket and chicken plate. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our plates. The ribs had a smokey flavor and were very moist. They paired extremely well with the sweet BBQ sauce. The brisket was actually the most moist brisket I've ever had, and I've eaten alot of brisket. My only recommendation was, it needed just a little spice, but also paired extremely well with the bbq sauce. The rice and beans sides were also extremely good. Overall, we loved it here, and they have gained a repeat customer. Update. Returned again. Unfortunately, this time, the food was bland. We had pulled pork and brisket. Both were uninspiring. Both lacked any resembles of bbq. Both lacked slices, salt, pepper, etc. They just tasted like they were made without adding anything to the meats. Service was once again fantastic, but sadly, this will be our last time here.

The potato salad was bland. The peach cobbler was like bread pudding. The brisket and pulled pork was amazing. The cheesecake was enormous and delicious.

Plenty of parking and tables to sit at. Place was empty and I can tell you why. I had the brisket enchilada plate. Food was cold. Enchiladas were hard to cut through. The rice was bland and beans were hard. We also had a brisket and chicken plate with sides. The chicken was dry and no flavor. The brisket was not good. The potatoe salad were cold potatoes mixed with a bit of mayo. The "sweet" tea was watered down. Our server only came by twice. When food arrived and next with the bill. We won't be coming back to this location thats for sure.

My office ordered bulk Brisket sandwiches from there today and they were very dry. Had to pour all the bbq sauce to make them edible. Not the first time I’ve eaten there that the food is dry and has no taste.

First timer and last visit for me. Ordered the three mea plate, ribs were tender but lacked seasoning, the brisket was soft & lukewarm, the sausage was good. The corn ear was lukewarm unsalted & unbuttered. Tasteless. The small side salad was very weak, the lettuce had water in the bowl and only one choice of dressing. I paid too much for average food. Our server was kind and helpful but after the food was served we only saw her once at the end. Now, I understand why it was empty on a Saturday evening. I give y’all a 2Star restaurant, just cause it was clean and lots of parking. Oh wait, it was empty!

I order the 2 meat plate. Fajita/sausage with mac&cheese and corn. Mac and cheese was cold and under cooked. The fajita was dry and rubbery. We normally eat at Aces in Mission. But here in mcallen. This place is shit. I will never come to this place again. Im surprised ppl are even coming to this place in mcallen.

I’m very disappointed. I order all the time from this place and I hope they see this. I ask for them to add a little more beans and rice for a $17 meal. They intentionally put even less than what they would originally put. Not sure if this is out of spite! This is the 3rd time this has happened. Go somewhere else where the service and portions are better.

Place has gone really down hill especially with the brisket. It's dry and hard even when I ask for it moist. There is too many new chefs in the back and the quality has degraded significantly. If they wanna key up with the competition they need to provide quality like they used to. For now I'll take my business elsewhere.
