I don’t know what it is but not all ice cream is the same I don’t know if it is the ingredients or how it’s prepared it just taste better. Sonic is a close 2end Only because Freddys ice cream it’s a little different and how it’s prepared it says balanced and Better presented. It’s good and well worth the price ,you will be satisfied. Unless I’m sick Or I am full I almost always get an ice cream here. Service is fast and friendly.

It is very hard to find a restaurant that will "lettuce wrap" a burger due to our diet restrictions and this place is always happy to do so and they do it perfect!! My husband, kids and I LOVE their burgers and fries! The staff is great, the restaurant is clean/kept up with every time we visit. Definitely a must visit spot in McAllen, there is definitely something for everyone!! My husband even dares to say this place is better than the "W"!

My first time at Freddy's was an amazing experience. The food was so good and tasty never had anything like it before. The best thing here has to be the cheese curds and the chocolate brownie delight sundae. The staff was so nice and helpful when it came to answering question I had on their menu. As always this place is the bomb!❤ Food is great and the ice cream is the real secret gem of this fast food franchise. It's so smooth and creamy compared what you could buy at a convenience store. I think one of the only cons is that they never give enough fries when u order food to go. Compared to what you get in the basket when you dine in there is a lot less in a to-go order

We went to the wrong Freddy’s and it took me a while to get to this one. Once I got there, I was sure my food would be cold. I asked them if they could reheat it and they were super friendly and kind to do it! I am very appreciative.

Great Service! I went with my girlfriend the other day and I ordered two chocolate shakes the color of the straws were matching with the color of our shirts. We both thought it was awesome and special! We will definitely come back!

We walked in, ordered our food, and grabbed some condiments and refreshments. Our food came out less than 10 mins after that. The fries were crispy, hot, and unique. We loved them! The burger patties were a little bit thin, BUT way bigger than the bun. About an inch all around. Flavor was great. They also have unique dipping sauces one spicy and one regular. We recommend both. We ordered 3 different sundaes and they all delivered. The service was excellent. They made it seem more like a dine in experience than a fast food joint, which was another plus. All together I will be coming back for more!

My wife took me to Freddy's Frozen Custard on a whim on a Friday night and it was clearly one of the best unique burgers I've had in the Rio grande valley. The fries and cheese curds are excellent. but the true charm of Freddy's Frozen Custard is of course the custard which is simply to die for they have a lot of flavors and they have a lot of different shakes and quasi not really blizzard but blizzards. See if you know what I mean. If you are looking for somewhere special to go on a date or have a bunch of hungry kids Freddy's Frozen custards is the best

I wasn't the person that ordered the food, so I can't say if the service was good, but woah... That chicken burger I had was really good!! And the pumpkin spice concrete dessert they had was so good too!!! A bit on the sweeter side, but if you want your kick of fall magic, that's a nice treat :> (although, one thing I'll say is the Famous Fry Sauce wasn't as great as the name suggests. It's essentially just tangy)

Usually as time pases the service seems to degrade, but this place has both great food and excelent service. Particularly on this date a young woman served us, she volunteered to trow our trash and was just in general very pleasant. Her name is Dasha.

Super impressed with how fast they got our food out to us. We came in with a really large group and no one was left waiting too long. The food was all done exactly as asked for and the tables were clean.

The manager of this location absolutely knows what he's doing. The food came out fast. The food was piping hot and delicious. The manager asked about our order, the employees came by the table to take our trash probably the best Friday experience we've had so far and we've been to several locations. Highly recommended!

Better then Sonic good food at decent prices too. They have good music playing on speakers overhead. Get a welcome when you walk in or get to counter. Also has an app to order online and get points for rewards too like Whataburger has.

Came here based on my son's recommendation, and it did not disappoint. The hamburgers were fantastic. We ordered the original, the jalapeño and the steak burger 🍔. All three were amazing. The thin cut fries were very good as well. We really enjoyed our meals and will definitely be coming back.

The food here is always delicious every time we come! Today we decided to try something different as we always just get their delicious burgers. The chicken tenders were really good, well served plate! The only thing that would have made the chicken tenders better would have been a sauce or gravy. The hot dog was super good! The bun is different, and delicious, they forgot to add the cheese but they corrected it right away. We got a turtle sundae, it was delicious, great way to end lunch before going back outside with this hot weather. Everyone was so nice and friendly, the food didn't take long to come out either. Thank you we will definitely be back soon, I need to try the onion rings, they look delicious too 😋

I liked the restaurant, very retro vibes. Food was tasty, my husband and I both got a #1 Freddys original double and our son a #8 Chicken tenders. The burger Patties were thin(×3) very juicy and flavourful. We also got a turtle sunday which was good, (although I was charged a Concrete, the order was corrected, I'm not sure what the difference is other than one is like a shake, the other in a cup) and my son liked his M&Ms sunday too. I'll be adding this restaurant to my list of fast food picks.

First time here at this restaurant. I ordered the double meat cheese steak burger. It was a tasty burger, although the patties were slightly thin. I really liked that Freddy's is generous with fries, which are thin too. I came all the way from Edinburg to experience the food at Freddy's. Overall: Good quality food at fair prices.

The burgers are good and the service is excellent. The fries aren't my favorite because they're shoestring. It is a little more pricey but a nice place to bring the kids. Their desserts are good, too.

Not the best tasting burger I've ever had, but for some weird reason they stay hot a very long time. Usually you eat a burger and it's cold when you get to the last bite, but a Freddy's Burger stays hot until the last bite. I know that sounds stupid, but I was kinda amazed. I don't like those shoe string fries. The frozen custard is a nice finish to a hot a** burger. It's not bad. This spot has amazing customer service. The Supervisor on shift was extremely welcoming and hospitable. If they had more burger varieties this would be a better spot.

I went here with some friends. The burgers are tasty, the place is clean, but I still had some issues. I highly recommend trying the sauce they offer as well if you are interested. Pros: Tasty burgers, quick service, appropriate atmosphere, cleanliness. Cons: My burger was slightly less warm than I expected and would have liked. Sure, the taste was great, but on the chilly day I went, a nice warm burger would have made my day.

The Burger & Fries were perfect! The staff & service was great. And the restaurant was clean, but the smell of soured mop water was overwhelming.

My order was delivered hot and my drinks on Q. The service and atmosphere Was Boring..or it didn't compliment the fun and the feeling going back in time as it looks from outside, 50'ts Hangout place. Staff could be more cheerful.

Been here a few times and it's been consistently good. The prices are on par with similar types of restaurants and the menu is simple: burgers, dogs and custard. On this particular visit in had the double patty with bacon combo. As seen in the picture the patties are somewhat similar to Five guys in that they are smaller, thinner than a burger from, let's say Wallbangers. Not pictured is the bacon they forgot to add but one word with a staff member and it was brought to me within minutes. The patties are small but they are juicy and flavorful and the bacon was nice and crisp, not over done. Regarding the fries, they are thinner than most places but they are crisp (my preference) and are seasoned with Freddy seasoning. For extra flavor grab some special sauce that can be used as a condiment on most anything except the custard. Not sure that's a great combo. Split a custard with the family because having one by yourself after a filling meal may put you in a food coma.

Lost all stars possible, due to continued visible mold inside ice dispenser. It's disgusting! Where's the health dept with this long term problem. It's getting harder and harder to order the same meal at this location. Even if we tell employee which open item button to use. They gave us way too much food, wasteful duplicates and one different burger didn't exist for daughter. We like Freddy's, but not this ongoing issue. **Updated: This location has gotten our order correct several times now. Added 2 extra stars ⭐⭐. But not 5 stars, because both bathrooms were gross, not quite disgusting, but filthy, doors everything. Also the drink machine is smelly and gross.

We love Freddy's.. food is always great, but on this location the lady at the window was super rude. We only had 4 drinks but she charged 6. She kept pushing to tell her what we wanted to drink, we kept saying we only ordered 4 drinks. Finally the manager came to the rescue, my goodness she should relax quit that job and let other work.

Good burger but it's too small and the price is too high. The fries are cut too thin. It makes them hard to to grab. The employees are very courteous and keep the place very clean. I would be hard pressed to go back.

Great food as usual but messed up my son’s burger when he specifically said plain with only cheese and bacon.

I love Freddy’s, delicious burgers. But on my last two orders I’ve been left with a dry mouth. No condiments no Freddy’s sauce or ranch for my strips. How am I going to get Freddy’s and not get the famous sauce?? Truly ruins the meal, great place but the service is deteriorating.

Had to ask for my sandwich to be remade three times. Between each time I had to wait to get the cashiers attention because she closed the window and walked away each time with saying anything. The fries were mediocre the burger was okay but It wasnt amazing, 4/10 on the burger. The cooking process leaves the burger very dry and tasteless. Glad I didnt accept it the way they gave it the first time or it would have been like chewing cotton balls.

What is going on? Soda machine had no ice and the person who took the order failed to tell us. I think that should be mentioned. We asked for no cheese, reciept said No Cheese but the the burger had cheese. The place had many gnats and was pretty dirty. The seats aren't level and need some maintenace. It seems that the person sweeping the floors was on a headset taking a drive-thru order.

I went through the drive through and the girl in the window was being very passive aggressive — I was scared my order was wrong but i had just come from the airport and didn’t wanna stop to check. After getting home, my order had onions after i specified no onions twice and my second order had pickles. Unsure if this was an accident… regardless the fries were perfect!

First time at Freddy’s. Co-workers had warned me about thin meat patties. They were right. I ordered #2 double meat combo w/cheese and could not taste the meat! Shoes string fries are actually shoe string size…very thin. I was still hungry after I left. Custard was good though.

Was just so so! they forget to put the lettuce on both the burgers, no dressing on the vegi burger dry and burnt, the 2 meat patties were so thin it was like eating air and bacon was simply non existent tiny crumbles of wish bacon!!! but the horrific amount of MUSTARD did it for me i had to scrap off the giant glob and ask for the dressing to fix the grotesque food! the onions were so harsh they got tossed first thing, the fries were edible..the custard is nothing special! im so sick and tired of having to complain anymore, I just shut my mouth it makes no difference here the quality is simply not a priority with most of the freddy's i have eaten at and this one is no different ..no reason to bother eating here again

Very very expensive. When I asked why so much guy looked at receipt and said "it all adds up" and kept the receipt. Dinner for four was $85. Around here that's highway robbery so feel free to take your Kansas hospitality back to Wichita.

Gross! full of GREASE! My mouth is full of grease! The patty is horrible and fries too. Bad for your health. 1st time here and I’m never ever going back. The onion were in huge slices. That isn’t no burger.

Service was good. Food had much to desire, there was an aftertaste from the oil. It tasted like old oil. Burger had a bland taste to it. Food was not what I remembered. Employees on the grill observed with no hair restraints, and one wiped his face while wearing gloves and went right back to prepping food. Will think before returning.
