Been going for a while and never had anything but good food.
Food was very fresh and delicious. Ordering is a little odd. Not a typical sit down restaurant where you'll be waited on. Order at the counter, take a seat and they will bring it out to you. Very casual setting. Sodas and drinks are bottled only. Empanadas are very fresh, and extremely packed with filling. Meat is certainly different than what I am used to, but in a good way. Just one of those empanadas and their delicious large salads is more than enough for a good meal.
The empanadas are delicious, they messed up my order last time I went but they fixed it and compensated me. Customer service has improved.
This is another unique place to the South Texas area that I like to eat at or order from. Highly recommended, the chimichurri sauce is awesome. Try it you won't regret it. A little pricey, very different food to our taste buds but well worth the experience.
First time having authentic empanadas..very good. Food was well prepared and good quality. 2 to 3 empanadas will be enough for one person, good portion size and give dipping sauces also. Can't beat the price, quality and flavor.
The empanadas are expensive. About 3$ each .... But making them is a hassle at home . They taste good enough to have them on occasion. The chimichiri sauce is good on salads too. The Best ones are beef and the Italian one. They are bakes but it be nice to have a fried option.
Always fresh and always hot. We love this place and it never gets old. Tasty food and salad is great as well. Great job guys!
The beef was so flavorful, and the empanada was sturdy and very easy to eat. Their chimichurri sauce was really good. I've tasted similar sauces at other places that aren't even close to as good as that one. This is one of my 5 star places, and I'm looking forward to going again. Great deals, variety of meats and fillings, and you can eat, get full, and Stull have leftovers to take with you. We spent around $15 for two with two empanadas to take home.
It's first time going and we stopped by chance, cause my mom wanted empanadas. But she don't it was going to be the fruit kind, but turns out it's with actual food, like shrimp and cheese, ham and cheese, and quite a few others, but named those cause those the ones I got. She got some other ones, and boy were they better than we thought. I would highly recommend going if you love empanadas
The service is great. The food absolutely delicious❣️ They have a variety of delicious empanadas. A must visit place on your list!
The empanadas at this restaurant are delicious. At first I thought that they were sweet empanadas however this are not lol. They only sale empanadas which are to die for. When I go I usually order the 'rajas de queso', chicken and crepesco. Every time I go they never disappoint, the food is always fresh and warm. Also they add a cheese to the salad that is so delicious. I wish I knew the name of the cheese lol. I simply love it. I really recommend this place I am a frequent customer myself. :)
Hadn't been there in a few years but the empanadas were just as delicious as I remember and the chimichurri was addicting. Service was fast and the lady behind the counter was polite. Will definitely be back soon!
Loved the food, great service and atmosphere to dine in. Food was ready at a timely manner. Would highly recommend the combo options!
The empanadas are amazingly delicious I always get shrimp and cheese and salad is so fresh and a great side to the empanadas! Eating here is always an experience to my tastebuds, my husband and I are hooked!
Best empanada, a slightly crispy outer shell but soft and chewy bread inside filled with meat [never had one with meat before today]. Was used to sweet empanadas with fruit filling. Its a game changer though. Had 2 chicken empanadas and 1 of the chicken chipotle. They give you some chimichuri sauce on the side [very similar to an italian dipping oil with herbs] which made it even better just for a kick.
My daughters love this place, my younger girl is very special on food and she like them a lot. She said, They're good and so easy to eat them.
Best empanadas by far! I love this place! Every time I go back home I have to stop and get some! I even buy some uncooked ones to bring home! I wish there was one in Houston!!
Went for the first time and loved it. Food is really delicious and good prices. Nice place for a casual date.
Delicious traditional Argentina food
Best empanadas I've ever had. The empanadas are delicious, and the sauce is even better! I would give them 10 stars
After visiting Argentina and enjoying their empanadas, I was happy to discover an Argentine style empanadas restaurant in McAllen. Solo Empanadas is located in the North cross Shopping Center a couple of doors down from the Barnes & Noble bookstore on 10th and Nolana Ave. When I walked in, I was greeted by the young ladies at the counter. They have a cozy and classy dining room which, at 4 PM, had people at two of their tables. O thought the interior was well designed and provides a pleasant atmosohere. It's small for large groups, but would be a great place for a business lunch, a small group, a family meal, and nice enough for a date night. Everything was very clean. The menu offers 14 different fillings for their empanadas, ranging from beef, chicken, cheese, ham, Caprese, bacon, mushrooms, shrimp, or a variety of combinations of those ingredients. They even have one that says "carne dulce" (sweet meat).. You can order them a la carte, in a combo, or by the dozen. To accompany the empanadas they have either a green (delicious) hot salsa or chimichurri. They also offer salads and drinks. Prices are reasonable... For three empanadas, I paid about the same as a burger combo at a fast food place, and this was much better and more filling. I found their empanadas to be authentic, with the same style and flavors I experienced in Argentina. That made my day! I will certainly be back! My empanadas were freshly baked after I ordered them, hut it only took between 10 and 15 minutes. That's not as fast as most "fast food" joints, but still quite fast. Each was literally branded with the name of the filling so I could tell them apart without opening it up, and they were presented in a nice box for take-out. I thoroughly enjoyed my order and look forward to trying the other flavors.
Solo Empanadas in McAllen has the best empanadas that you will ever try in your LIFE. They are amazing 🤩 🔥 🤤 the Carne Picante (Spicy Beef) are my absolute favorite. I bring them as gifts to my office staff and they always go mmmm 😋 where do you get these? Where is it located. Do your self a favor and get you a dozen and pass them out at work. You’ll be everyone’s favorite ❤️
A great hole in the wall to get meat & veggie empanadas. The service was simple for takeout, young lady was patient and helpful. First time trying the Argentina empanadas and I will return! We thought the best one was rajas con queso (roasted poblano and corn with cheese). We tried the others which were very good too, beef, spicy beef, spinach and cheese, chicken and carne saltena.
These empanadas are amazing. I’ve had them for dine and take out on several occasions. My favorites are the chicken chipotle and rajas con queso
The best empanadas I’ve ever had!!! Customer service are nice and friendly. I usually order 2 empanadas because they are pretty big and delicious!!! Las mejores empanadas que eh tenido!!! Sabor de Argentina!!
Flavor 💥 possible with the chimichurri sauce one spicy beef, one spinach /cheese and one chipotle chicken with a salad 🥗

Flavor 💥 possible with the chimichurri sauce one spicy beef, one spinach /cheese and one chipotle chicken with a salad 🥗
I bought 3 empanadas. Tradicional, carne con queso, and rajas con queso. All three were good. The green sauce is just spicy enough and the chimichurri always adds a great herb flavor.
I love this place. Probably eat here once a week
great place love empanadas they were all great
No music. One of the greatest things of Argentina is it's music like tango. Ok you won't find this here. Good food and Good service though 👌
I am so happy this place is open again! After 8 months of waiting, it's back and in my opinion, it's better! The renovations look great and provide a very nice atmosphere. The empanadas are delicious. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love the food here. I’ve never ate inside the restaurant. I specifically order to-go whenever I’m hosting an event. The guests love them! Birthday parties, business meetings etc. The thing is the people at the cash register are sometimes very unpleasant. I try to still be nice and brighten their days. Smiling goes a long way!
So the food is DELICIOUS! We've tried almost all the empanadas and truly all are so good, thus far. My favorite is the shrimp and cheese. Plus the green salsa it comes with is so flavorful and so is the oil dipping sauce. I would have given it 5 stars, but the place itself is not appealing. It has a really strong odor (as if the ventilation system is not the right size causing the restaurant to smell like a bathroom). We always take to-go. Also, the restaurant is very dark and the decor is not inviting. Doesn't make you want to stay and eat there. Other than that, the empanadas are great and also pretty big!
The lady in the front was nice and helpful. The empanadas are tasty and full of flavor. no complaints here. I will definitely be back🙂
The empanadas are excellent and love that they have vegetarian options that are especially tasty. If you haven't had these empanadas yet, don't hesitate and try them today!
First time visit…will visit again. Food was hot when served 15 minutes after ordering. Ordered a #2 combo. Service was less than noteworthy. A couple across from me finished eating and left the location. I was disappointed that their table was left dirty for at least twenty minutes…disappointing because my first impression was a clean and warm location.
Solo Empanadas just reopened. The place got a new look, the service is still good unfortunately their salad was drastically downsized and is not as good as they used to be. On a positive note the empanadas got a little bigger and are still delicious. Thumbs 👎🏻 on salad thumbs 👍🏻 on empanadas .
It was a very nice experience. Variety of empanadas to select from. My favorite were the shrimp and cheese. We ordered one dozen. All the empanadas are a little over 2 dollars so you can order a mix if you'd like. Enjoy.
New remodeled location, chill vibes, a little overpriced but still good!
These empanadas are very good and always consistent with big bold flavors. Chimichirri and hot sauces give them that kick to make them delicious.

It was not a bad place to eat, it’s just I got 3 different types of empanadas(carne, spicy carne, and carne with cheese) and they pretty much all tasted the same. maybe it’s my fault for what I chose. The empanadas were sized pretty good, and they came out looking just like the pictures. The salsas weren’t the best, esp the green one since it was so watered down.
Delicious empanadas but the place smells awful. Other than that you should try the mushroom with cheese
From 2.80 to 4 dollars each thats just insane!! I mean 10% 15% increase is understandable but a 40%+ increase is too much..you are charging the customers for the remodeling..not cool
The food was very fresh which was great! BUT the taste was just not there. However if you like Argentinian food, you might enjoy it. I simply didn't like the flavors of the meats and wouldn't really reccomend it.
Empanadas are okay, not the best, but they are okay. The cashier is not friendly. They should hire someone who can really at least show a fake smile for the customers.
Food was good but I waited close to 50 min to the order

Service is terrible. The guy at the cashier is not friendly, Cant even pretend to be nice or pleasant. The chimichuri is horrible. It's not difficult to make tasty chimichuri w Real herbs, and fresh garlic. They use very little, and I mean VERRY LITTLE DRY herbs in a lot of oil. They're also extremely weird about giving u a little to go container got sauces.
Nothing special, the salad is pretty sad iceberg lettuce, which has absolutely no nutritional value, overload of cheese , 1 slice tomato, and an olive. They got my order wrong, I ordered 3 different ones, got 2 the same, 1 different.. But what really baffled me was that they are SO weird about giving you a little 1/2 ounce plastic container to take ur little chimichurrie to go that they Serve you! They will straight up lie to you and say they don't have any.. while they have a bunch of them filled up in the front for togo orders. They rather throw away the chimichurie they serve you than give you a little container to go. Also the chimichuri is not that good. - cheap oil in Dry seasoning and Dry herbs. When good authentic chimichuri is FRESH herbs. Overall, There's no love put into their food. Service was nothing special, food was mediocre. Can't say I'll be going back

The flavor and quality has dramatically worsened ever since they remodeled. I used to go with my family all the time because of how delicious and flavorful the empanadas were, but now they completely changed the recipe and the inside of the empanadas feel and look raw. They almost doubled the price of the empanadas and now when you order the combo #6 they barely add any salad ( they used to give a large salad, now they give a small one). The carne traditional used to be full of spices and colorful dark brown beef, now the beef looks grey-ish brown with barely any spices. The mushroom empanadas used to be filled to the brim with mushroom, now it’s barely any mushroom and mostly cheese. The empanadas looks dull because they stopped adding the egg wash, and the worst part is that the inside is raw and gummy. They no longer look nice and toasted from the top, and even when you ask them to cook them more, they barely make a difference. I am truly saddened because I used to love this place. Even if the place looks nicer than before, I dont come here for aesthetics, I come here for quality food, which clearly they dont serve anymore. Please, go back to the old recipe because I won’t be coming back and I’m sure others won’t either. (Oh btw, they scammed me on the tip, I never consented it and they added it anyway.)
