this place has unquestionably the BEST customer service I have ever experienced. there was a boy named Landon who treated us with lots of care and somehow manage to not only take care of the outside orders but maned to efficiently take care of ALL of the orders inside. this boy is the hardest worker I have ever seen in my entire life without a doubt.

Just stopped in for a #1 w/cheese. A little miscommunication with the money. Said I had the exact change but did not hear so was left with more change. Burger was cooked to perfection as always. Just need to listen a little better. No argument just not a great experience.

For being brand new opened and I'm a whataburger eater. The store was not busy and several tables were dirty to sit at. Hopefully it was a fluke and will be better bit this one is close to home now and will give it another try. Love my whataburger.

I used to be a worker at this establishment from Jan 12, 2012 to august 18, 2018 and my biggest issue with this store and a huge complaint we always got from customers was how messed up the dine-in room was. Coming back to visit and seeing it was renovated and looks like new. It just felt nice to be there and hang out. About time they fixed that store.

I had the Peppercorn Ranch Spicy Chicken Club after a young man that works there recommended it. I added onions, pickles, mustard and mayo. It was sooo good. Wish I had taken a picture cuz it was perfect. There was a very long line which is expected and totally understandable. We all want delicious food at midnight. The wait was totally worth it. The gentleman that delivered the food to my window was very friendly and polite.

Love love Whataburger and the customer service and help I received that night was phenomenal, I had hurt my self before going there but because I was walking around I hadn't felt it that bad but after my sister and I got done eating and got ready to leave when I went to get up and walk I couldn't do it anymore, the manager and two other young gentlemen were courteous and compassionate and helped me to my car. Employees like that are really rare now a days so I pray and really do hope they are respectfully valued. God bless y'all 🤗😊

The service since the beginning was good. The time for the food to come out was the same as usual, about 15min. The fries where a bit soggy but the Whataburger rep gave me new ones without hesitation. Ultimately the food was delicious as always. If you haven't been to a Whataburger, please be patient and prepared to wait since food is prepared when you order.

Remodeled, horribly, my mother doesn't like to critique, and she said it looked cheap. Horrible seats, looks like a start up business, not an established restaurant. Shame, plus ugly colors. NRJ.

Good food, great employees and Elva does an awesome job keeping the place clean & well stock at the drink counter. I appreciate the way Elva rebags the trash cans inside building. She moves the bin, out of sight from the dining area & returns a clean bagged can to it's place. Excellent for the dine in customers.

Ordered the breakfast platter didn't like the eggs too dry manager Angel Saenz without hesitation ordered a fresh plate with fresh eggs. Managers like Mr. Saenz deserve recognition for their great work. Great place clean and friendly atmosphere. Our place to go.👍

Update 2/13/24 Got my usual #5 with grilled jalapenos. Went through drive through cuz I didn't want to go in. Food was great it never fails. Service and the employees where also great too. Update 6-15-23 After gym decided to get a grill chicken sandwich. I didn't go in drive through instead. But the food is still great. It never fails

Fast, well made, delicious. Both lanes were packed with all the people leaving the clubs, but you guys were so fast and the fries were fresh and the taquito was so good. and the workers were nice, especially the guy bringing out the orders to the cars. We asked for more condiments and he was polite and went inside and brought more as he continued bringing other orders out. Great job guys, thank you.

Alexia took our order today. She was very sweet and helpful! They didn't have the Monterrey but she was able to substitute for something similar which was great. She was also very attentive. Overall, my experience here was great thanks to her!!

I went to Whataburger on North 23rd in McAllen, Tx, and I was short a buck, and the manager didn't even hesitate and helped me out. If everyone was like this the world would be a better place. Thank you whataburger, the only reason I gave four on atmosphere is because there is no privacy between the cash register and the customers already eating. But once again thank you. You made me feel that the world still has hope.

I love their food. I haven't lived here long and it was the first place my daughter and her husband took me to eat when I came here in November. Rally's, a restaurant in KY used to have a sandwich I loved 😍. It was called the western BBQ burger. Double cheeseburger, onion rings and BBQ sauce. Yummy 😋🤤. I ordered a double cheeseburger Plain and they brought me one with Everything! I took it back and they replaced it for me quickly. It was so good 👍😉 yummy 😋🤤. Their hamburgers are pretty big so I had to bring half of it home for lunch the next day. It was just as good 👍.

Great service. Fast drive thru. They forgot to add the gravy to my order, I went inside to let them know, they gave me the gravy and added a cookie for the inconvenience. I told them it wasn’t necessary, but they insisted. Place was clean and quiet. Loved it.

I go to this Whataburger every time I want a quick and tasty burger. The food is amazing, the service is very quick, and the overall cleanliness is great. My only complaint is that sometimes they don't have enough ketchup packs, but that is more of a nitpick than an actual complaint. Great food at a great price. I would highly recommend anyone to try it out.

I ordered online catering from this location a few months ago—the Whataburger boxes and wings bundle. I also called a few times to verify my order, and each time the staff was very kind and professional. The delivery arrived right on time, with the food still warm and neatly packaged. I didn't see all the prices on the menu behind the counter, a significant amount of travel advisors tend to discourage purchasing items not openly posted behind the counter (cautioning against discriminatory pricing), but I am confident that y'all are honest (you should probably fix that discrepancy though). The staff were attentive and friendly, even when extremely busy; will certainly suggest this place to others in the future. Not really certain what can be done about the flies, they're extremely agile and they just follow customers into the building, maybe an antechamber area attached to the outside of the building, similar to what Denny's does over near 1st and Nolana (it would be a quick construction, since it's just a little room).

Stopped by on Halloween and saw Manager Roel handing out candy to the little kids while also taking great care of customers and his team, excellent job sir! The second manager, Miguel, was also on top of everything. Been to other whataburgers, but this one by far I had the best experience, Both are great managers who provide outstanding customer service, hands down! Great job to all the workers there 👏

Whataburguer [MOSTLY] never disappoints for some reason the standards for franchise owners are always pretty good at least here in South texas I'm yet to have a really bad experience I mean of course sometimes the food tastes awesome and some days it just tastes good but for a fast food restaurant I couldn't expect more from this guys Whataburguer is one of my go to's when it comes to a fast, filling delicious meal.

They put a little too much onion on their burgers. But that's my only complaint. These burgers are big and fulfilling, and pretty good. I struggle to finish just one, they fill the stomach quickly! The price isn't too bad either!

I went to the drive thru early on a Saturday night. 8pm. Service was quick, friendly, and correct. Service at this store for the drive thru was good. Would go to this particular store again.

I went here on Saturday 10/5. They got the order wrong as I was missing a chicken sandwich. Luckily I did not order combos. They almost missed a small soft drink also which I had to remind them about.

The food here is good, but the wait in drive-thru is insane. At times I've waited 30 minutes to get my order. In recent times, it's gotten better, but could definitely be better. They mess up orders quite frequently, from putting the wrong sauces requested, to completely messing up the meal or burger. I highly advise that you check your order before leaving this place, because it can be a real hit or miss. I had an order that was completely wrong recently, and I called a manager who was very helpful, and gave me a brand new order the next time I went, free of charge, but they burned the buns pretty badly. After talking to a manager the 2nd time, and getting another free meal, all was well, but it is really a hit or miss place. Food will always taste good for me, but that's if they actually get it right.

The breakfast platter is really good, it has plenty of scrambled eggs, the biscuits here are tasty, the sausage patty isn't good for me, but the bacon is good, the hash browns sticks are good if made fresh & the coffee is good. Now the burgers aren't so great, just average fast food burgers, I ordered the bacon and cheese whataburger and the meat was very dry, the veggies were okay. The fries were hot and crispy but they needed salt as they were a bit bland. Overall I do recommend their breakfast options, their actual burgers aren't bad, but just average fast food burgers.

Completely dissatisfied with the value I received from the double burger with bacon and cheese added. I could have had a #2 meal for $12 with fries and drink. However I opted for a burger that I paid $10. The cheese was okay , and as for the bacon (I didn't see any bacon on my burger) I am sure it was there, just very little of it. This burger would have normally been $7 , so I cant agree that adding bacon and cheese for $3 more makes good sense. I like whataburger, but I don't recommend that you ask for extras on the sandwiches here, that makes them overpriced in my opinion.

I can't believe the hostess told another customer that she didn't have fresh decaf if she wanted reg. In my opinion and experience working in food industry for over 15 yrs you don't ask you just bring her what she wants. So 10 mins later she brings her the decaf coffee ☕️

Whata isn't the same anymore. Their quality is lacking. I know they changed the frying oil as it taste weird now that or they don't change it often. I used to love the fries now I hardly eat them. The patty is so flat and thin it also taste low quality not like before, they had juicy 80% meat I'm sure. Times I'd bite into my burger it had ground up bits like cartilage or something. The bun gets so soggy on the chicken sandwich I imagine the wet breast caused it. Tgey always get my order wrong or forget something. This time I ordered a patty melt and 3 kids meals and 1 sweet n spicy bacon burger and 1 chicken sandwich and they gave me 4 patty melt combos along with the rest of my order when i went to pay it was $75 8 was like wait a minute. Yeah it's annoying and sad because whata is a Texas staple. I hope other locations are better than this.

Went on 8/9 after a wonderful morning in the IMAS. Decided to stop here as whataburger is supposed to be a standard in burgers in Texas. All was wrong. Staff was everything except friendly. The burgers were cold. The fries had a weird taste like rancid oil. The place felt dirty, which should be our sign to just go to another place. Would I return here? No. Why 2 stars? Because we were starving and at least we had food in little time.

I would give it no stars . I understand 2 am is crazy hours ,but I have an hour of lunch and just with that hour….I spent on the drive thru line . Plus, how can you forget the most simple things that come on a receipt . Taking orders should not take long , especially when no one is dining in and there is hardly any vehicles . Management need to up their game or give that chance to someone else !!! Overall angry with my service .

I wish this place would get it together they needed more training. Why make it 2 lanes if only one person is going to be working both lanes. They need to repeat the orders and give the customer the amount they are going to be charged before going to the window that way we can have exact change for when they come and take payment. Last but not least the person bagging the food should at least double check if the order is correct. I ordered a number 5 no onions and no tomatoes the reason I say that is not because I don't like it but I'm allergic to tomatoes and they added tomatoes to my burger which makes no point in taking them out any slight of tomatoe will send me to the emergency room I just don't know what else to say but that I will no longer be going to this place it seems like no matter what we tell the employees to repeat the order and double check means nothing to them.

I was just there a while ago. I ordered coffee, no cream, no sugar suggested, nor provided for. I also asked for picante sauce, none was provided. I ordered extra tomatoes oil es, extra onions, it had nothing but the cheese and lettuce on the meat and buns. No napkins either. I had to get out of my car to ask for those items. Never again. 👎👎👎👎👎

Paid with a $100 note, Yaresi claimed she had no change and no way of changing the bill. Sheet inquiring about a policy or really lack there of, I got $87 single $1 notes as change. I will be following up on this as it seems this is a ridiculous practice but I'd like to understand why Whataburger, or perhaps this franchise, is making it difficult for someone to get breakfast and change. Not a solid business plan.

Worst dine in experience.. went in for breakfast and ordered at 9:05am didn't receive food till 9:26am . Asked employee for ketchup and she never came back when I asked her where the ketchup was she very upset and said that it was very busy and she had forgotten. She got into it with my friend. Joseph Martinez "the manager" came to my table and told me that he was going to call the cops and said that if we were done eating so that we could leave. Worst experience ever. Went in for breakfast and got practically kicked out by manager.

Sat at drive thru & was skipped twice while they only took orders from drive thru next to us. Went inside to ask what was going on & was told that side i was in was closed. I said so go put a cone up or something & he said he couldn't. Ok, I'm not a mind reader. Didn't apologize, instead said he would take my order.... sure buddy, & wait another 20 minutes for u to make it. I'd rather pay someone else my hard earned money for their service. Update: Went through the same process on 12/20/21 and got the same result. My food was cold and got the wrong drinks after waiting over 40 minutes in the drive thru for my online order..after 7 months nothing has changed. New look same service. Ordered online for asap after 11pm and got there and the line was long. Finally got to the intercom to let them know I was there. Got to the window got our order and the food was cold. I figured since they were busy the fries would be hot but nope they cold and hard food was too.

Should offer curbside during after-hours. Even with a mobile order, the wait is at least 20-30 minutes at the drive thru, so expect your food to be cold. Edited to add: Placed order at 1:13. I arrived at 1:23. Order was handed to me at 1:59, and yes, it was a bit cold by then. Nothing against the employees. They're just doing their job, but otherwise this seems poorly managed.

First off, let me mention that I have always liked this Whataburger branch: it's close enough to my house and the crew have always been generally nice - or at least casual (I don't really expect spectacular service from a fast food chain) and the food has always been fresh. They do make mistakes in my orders every once in a while, but upon letting them know, they try to correct it. Recently though, I noticed the quality of service in this branch has been deteriorating. And today's experience just proved that even more. A cashier named Cecilia (she didn't have a name tag so I had to ask her eventually what her name was, and that's what she gave me)was very rude. No greetings or anything when I stood in front of the counter to order - no biggie. Then, I was still looking at the menu, and some people came in so I let them go first after letting Cecilia know, but she just stood there so the customers before me had to ask if I was gonna go first since Cecilia wasn't doing nor saying anything. When they were done and I was ready, I stepped up right in front of her and she turns and walks away, so I had to call her and let her know I was ready to order, and SHE ROLLED HER EYES at me! I ended up canceling my order. Aside from being impersonal, I thought this crew was really rude. I understand this is fast food and as much I want to, I don't expect much in terms of customer service; but at least treat us like customers who are present in front of you, willing to patronize your business.

Another bad experience at Whataburger, from over seasoned patties half filled fries, missing gravy and squashed burgers. I've visited 3 different Whataburger's and have had similar bad experiences multiple times at all locations. Needless to say they've lost a lifelong customer.

I ordered online delivery that was fast but the food was already cold even though it was delivered in about 10 minutes. Besides that, the burger was absolutely messed up drowning in ketchup even though their burgers do not come standard with ketchup and I definitely didn't add it. The buns were soggy and the veggies weren't arranged at all to Whataburger standards, let alone customer standards. When I unwrapped the sandwich it looked as if this was done on purpose as per a prank, it was an absolute mess. If it was an accident it was obviously not quality checked by the manager. This was at 3 am so it's not like they were busy. I ordered extra chicken strips as well and those were not provided at all. Again all the food was cold even though they "don't start making your order until you customize it." Had to call in and complain where I was asked to provide the order number by the man in charge 7-8 times. The manager said his name was Angel. I was trying to resolve the conflict but the whole conversation consisted of him talking with his employees during my attempt to get my issue resolved. He didn't even offer to repeat the information I stated that he requested from me, so I would know if it was accurate. He then started the passive aggressive approach and kept repeating the order number wrong to me to try and make me angry. After demanding the order number and me trying to provide it he then changed gears to a more subtle, "oh you don't need the order number just bring in the receipt." I know for a fact that nothing is going to change at this location as the leadership is setting this poor example. It's a poor excuse for customer service and I hope that someone that's actually in charge can fix the issues at the 23rd st location. I visit this store out of convenience and proximity but obviously I won't be anymore. Whataburger standards and practices have slipped dramatically and it's sad really brand loyalty is huge for their income I'm sure and locations like this are the reason that corporate is hemmoraging money.

Drove by drive threw @12:00am Asked for a number five with mayo no mustard upon driving to the window employee just coviently alerted me sorry no mayo no mustard no condiment so I asked for the pico di gallo burger meal and was overpriced for that one also so that time I decided to drive off and cancel the order as I drove off I contacted the exact same water burger by phone the exact same employee answered as I asked do you take orders over the phone was denied phone order and also proceeded to ask if mayo was in stock and was told yes we have mayo #WAT A SHAME mayo is compliance due to other chicken sandwiches products for the manager MWBA make waterburger better again

Forgot my kids food has to drive back to get it. Now our food is cold because I have to drive back to get the kids meals and fries they forgot … and did anyone apologize or try and make the situation better no. They send a nice kid to give us our food. I’m assuming older man or very short female worker are the managers on duty. Do better it’s not hard to make the situation better and apologize. We had to drive all the way back to pick up the food and that was very inconvenient…. And I ordered this food in curbside so then had to wait all over again I the drive through line do get the food they forgot. Like common. Terrible.

I ordered from the Drive-thru on the outside lane. The worked told me to pay at the window. I tried to make my way into the inside lane but no cars were letting me in. So i stayed on the outside lane and waited for about 25 mins for them to come to my car. Why have 2 lanes if you can't service both lanes. Unacceptable and the last time i ever go to this location.

I placed a breakfast order for delivery and when it has not arrived by the delivery time. l called the location only to be told the order status showed as cancelled and it was too late to order breakfast at that point. I was transferred to 3 different people and not one had a solution but a stock response that it would take 2 days for a refund to post. Awful service and general attitude by the employees, but based on the other reviews, it may have been a blessing in disguise.

The night crew and management have a real problem with getting orders correct at this location. They seem to always forget an item. It’s very important that you check your order before you drive off. They will give you the same lame excuse everytime that they were in the middle of changing shifts… it’s inexcusable. It’s not so much the incompetent employees as it incompetent management. It always boils down to management. Regionals…. You should pay close attention to this location. Not worth all the money you just spent on the remodel if you’re driving customers away like this. Makes me not want to come back. Not worth the aggravation.

Change was off. Went back to the counter just to get thev incorrect change again. Then the manager reassured me I miscounted the second time going to tell them until I physically counted it for him and got the rest of it.

Worst whataburger in the valley every single time I go to this place they mess up my order, I always get the ketchup I didn’t ask for also they always forget my fries!! Even through they were not that busy, they still mess up.🤦‍♂️never coming here agian

Today was their .79¢ deal and I had THE RUDEST EXPERIENCE WITH THE CASHIER. She was an older woman and when it was time to pay I took out change and she looked at me up and down AND LAUGHED AT ME! I felt like I was being made fun of for using change which I thought was still a form of payment without judgement. Not only did she laugh at my form of payment and judged me but my order took OVER AN HOUR and I was charged extras that I did not ask for. BE NICE and if you have an attitude DONT WORK AT A FAST FOOD CHAIN!

I received cold fries on my drive thru order. It's so upsetting picking up food just to find out your meal is not the way you ordered it. I spent $20 for cold food. Nah. Worst customer service. No empathy whatsoever. So to receive any credit I have to drive back and return food. So just wasted my time and gas and still had nothing to eat.

We recently visited Whataburger on a Monday evening, hoping to enjoy a fresh, satisfying meal. Sadly, our expectations were not met. Upon arrival, one of the managers efficiently took our order and handed us our cups. However, when I went to fill mine, I noticed rust around a stainless steel area in the drink station where the lids are kept. I shrugged it off initially, but things only got worse from there. Sitting at our booth, it became clear why there was rust in the drink station. The wallpaper around the tables was full of holes, and it was obvious that the Sheetrock underneath had severe moisture damage. Shockingly, there appeared to be black mold on the wall. When our food arrived, we were hoping for something fresh and delicious. Instead, the fries were soggy, the apple pie packaging was dirty, and the burger was dry and far from fresh. This location used to be one of the better ones, but it has certainly gone downhill. As we gathered our tray after eating, I picked up the receipt, which had been sitting on the table the whole time. The moisture in the paper suggested significant humidity issues. The ceiling tiles around the air vents also had mold and water damage. This location was remodeled not long ago, making its current condition even more disheartening. Public safety should be a concern here, given the visible mold and overall poor cleanliness. Overall, nothing we ate was good or fresh, and the state of the restaurant was concerning. We won't be returning anytime soon.

Was waiting In line to order inside and I was next to order and the lady at the register said the person behind me was next then told me she got there first , when she clearly didn’t maybe she knew her or didn’t like us ? so I waited the lady was not ready and I waited for her to finish and she was just on her phone looking threw the menu , the register lady was rude when we finally got to order. I ended up leaving. I like their food at any location but this place had terrible service never going there and maybe to other locations for a while.

I’m writing to report a serious safety and sanitation issue at the Whataburger location on 23rd and Orchid, Store #4017, in McAllen, TX. I visited with my two kids and had a very unpleasant and unsafe dining experience because Team member Patrick poured a bucket of cleaning chemicals on the floor around our table while we were eating, leaving the floors soaked and filling the area with a strong, unpleasant chemical odor. When placing our order, the cashier, Patrick was cold, unresponsive, and did not confirm or repeat the order. He gave no acknowledgment during the transaction, and I initially assumed he might be having a bad day. While we were eating, he began pouring a bucket of water mixed with cleaning chemicals onto the dining room floor, scraping it, and then using a loud suction machine. There were no wet floor caution signs displayed. I first assumed he would limit this to an unused section, but he proceeded to pour water and chemicals directly around our table, blocking our exit and making it difficult to continue eating. As we stood up to leave, he immediately removed our chairs from behind us before we even walked away. The combination of wet floors, chemical exposure, and loud equipment while guests were dining created an unsafe and unpleasant environment. I addressed this with the manager on duty, who dismissed my concerns, stating that they clean “whenever they can” regardless of guests being present. He offered no solution and appeared unconcerned about the safety hazards or the customer experience. I informed him that I would be reporting this incident to the McAllen Health & Code Enforcement Department. This experience caused me to lose my appetite and I ended up throwing half my food away because of the chemical smell & left me feeling disregarded as a customer. I ask that Whataburger address these unsafe cleaning practices and ensure that proper customer service and food safety standards are upheld.

I work overnight. Alot of people do. Doesn't mean "we" deserve the crappy cold leftovers. I went in at 2/3 am this 07/31/25 morning and ordered a small simple order. And received a burnt apple pie that tasted days old and they really skimped on the breakfast taco too. SMH

I was there tonight and everything would have been good except this one girl who was working there was being super rude. I believe her name was Melanie. I witnessed her being rude to an older woman who was there with her grandson. It was so horrible watching her be rude to the lady and even worse in front of her grandkid. I understand sometimes employees are frustrated from working long hours but have some decency or basic customer service skills. Manager did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. And this is coming from someone (myself) who also works in the restaurant industry.
