My fiancé and I went here for our first date 3 years ago so to celebrate we went on our anniversary as well. The place has change quite a bit in 3 years but all for the better. My fiancé got the Duck and I ordered the Sirloin cooked medium rare. I’m not joking when I say this, it was the best cooked and tasting sirloin I had ever eaten. It’s a high class taste for gastropub prices. An absolutely amazing value for the money.

We cannot recommend Alchemy enough!! The staff here took such good care of my husband and I. In addition to the stellar food, the bartender/GM, Sage, was making custom drinks for us to pair with each course. It was such a dreamy date night, made perfect by the most attentive service we’ve ever experienced, the most delicious food and the coolest atmosphere! We definitely will be bringing all of friends! In addition to a great meal, this is also a great spot for drinks and dessert!

The food was phenomenal, the drinks were spectacular, but over all the experience was made great by Lyrik! He was very attentive, prompt to refill drinks, and just took great care of us all around. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!

It was very hot inside, but other than that my experience was awesome. Great bartender who made a great Sazerac. The Don Buri was INCREDIBLE. The pork belly was crispy but tender, the rice was seasoned and spicy, I just loved it. Will be back next time I'm in Memphis.

Love this place. Their staff is always amazing and they have great happy hour deals. Sage the manager is also wonderful. Solid wine selection at reasonable prices. All $10! Perfect for drinks to unwind and relax.

Excellent restaurant in a nice part of Memphis. Went on a Saturday night and got seated quickly. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive, making some fantastic recommendations for cocktails and cuisine. I had the duck which was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. I had two cocktails, the Alchemist and the Smithy, both were great. As for dessert, I had perhaps the best bread pudding I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the land of the Delta Blues.

Consistently a great time! Drinks, food & service are all top tier & this has quickly become one of my favorite spots. Sage, the manager, is a gem and always ensures we’re having the best time. 10/10!

Will was tremendous, it was his first day and you would have never known! Fun, attentive, and knowledgeable about everything they offered. This is the second time I’ve dealt with the GM sage, he is professional, courteous, and cares about his customers.. couldn’t think you guys enough for the experience and not for the first time either…

I came here to hang out with my favorite cousin while winding back from a hard day of working remotely while also visiting my home town. The cocktails were stellar, service was amazing (i.e. Will - 1st week serving) and food was delicious too.

It's a great place to have a drink. I can't say anything about the food because I have not eaten there yet. Very nice modern interior with plenty of room. I recommend this place for a first date, or business meeting over drinks, or meeting with friends. Bar tenders are very polite and professional.

Great drinks, it was decently busy but not overly. So there were some empty tables but mostly filled, easy to go sit at the bar also. The bathroom was surprisingly dirty.

Our experience here was great! Bob was our waiter and took great care of us. Service was fast, drinks were great and the Lamb Meatballs were solid. Would definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a good cocktail.

Came in last night for a quick drink after work. Kaitlyn made an excellent Vieux Carre, and she has such a wonderful personality. Bobby was so kind and attentive, he’s just a natural at keeping the vibes good. Sage, the manager, is just flat out amazing. He’s knowledgeable, professional, and charismatic. Wish I could give them 10 stars. Absolutely love these folks!

Fun spot, good drinks, really good food. The appetizers were especially good and full of all kinds of flavor. Our server, Mary, was very attentive and did a great job. Will definitely go back. Recommend the brussel sprouts, watermelon salad, and hangar steak. The duck confit is the only thing I didn't love. Everything else was awesome!

Nice decor, nice bar, nice people. A little expensive, but the bartender informed me about service industry nights without me asking. Made a monte cassino to am absolute tee. Good glassware, not the Memphis standard of an overcompensated lip on a coupe. Right size for the bev. I didn't see them shake it, but only bc the bar wraps around and I was afforded the luxury(sincerely )of sitting quietly on one side by myself. Lighting a little dim, not my jam, but to each his own. Music was nice and quiet. Just a little expensive.

We loved this place when we visited Memphis. So happy it was within walking distance of our Airbnb. Bartenders were ALL excellent and skilled in their art. Austin was particularly exceptional and gracious with making unique cocktails for us and recommended a trip to Old Dominick distillery, which I did. Wish there was an Alchemy in my neighborhood.

Alchemy is an amazing bar. The bartenders were amazing! The food was delicious. I highly suggest the sliders and the double baked chocolate chip cookie! Matt the bartender took care of us, talked sports, and suggested different drinks to try. I would recommend this bar to anyone in the area looking for an wonderful night with an excellent atmosphere.

Really great meaty wings. Spicy! Gooey grilled cheese w tangiest. tomato soup…hearty. Deviled eggs had kick. Memphis Old Fashioned. I had one, could have 6 more except I have to drive home Robert was our waiter. Excellent guy.

Loved the place. Great service from the staff. The food options are not many, but they are super tasty, very recommended. The drinks are average cost, but also really good too. I recommended this place

I had a great experience with this place. I was planning a proposal and reached out about using their private dining room for the occasion. A manager, Sage, was so helpful and accommodating in trying to plan, and everything turned out perfectly because of the awesome staff here. It goes a long way to have good people like this coming to our neighborhoods and creating places where people can make memories over good food and drinks. Highly recommend!

Probably one of my favorite bars/restaurants of all time. Amazing memories over three years. Make your way to Memphis and don’t skip this place. Food ranges from top tier sushi to southern comfort and nothing is out of place. Booze pouches in the summer. You can’t beat this place really.

I liked the place, especially how fast service is We luckily came during happy hour and had some good cocktails @ half price(4pm-6pm Monday-Friday) and some not so good food at half price also. Again, I applaud the place for having affordable bites so quickly, but the quality really shows once the food arrives. I recommend the beef sliders and avoid the tacos (which had tiny bits of shrimp and was a huge letdown). So, my advice is focus on the drinks. There is a menu in which good isn't discounted and those plates looked yummy

The small plates are great... deviled eggs, tune poke tacos... and a plate of fries that’s a mile high Bartenders are super friendly and helpful. Can’t say the same for the disinterested hosts :/ but that won’t sway me from coming back

We gathered here for drinks after our dinner, so did not really eat anything. So I can’t tell you anything about the food. It was a chilly Saturday night, and the place was packed, dimly lit, and cozy. It was quite loud and the tables were a bit sticky 🙄 however, I loved my time. I got a cocktail named clementine. It was made with orange juice, and vodka and some other stuff. It had some kick in it, for real. My other friends were also saying that their drinks were quite strong. Finding a parking can be an issue as Saturday nights can be a busy time in the cooper young area.

Pretty great spot. Good time for a cocktail or a good beer list. X games on the TVs made for a wierd vibe against what was a pretty cool atmosphere. Friendly staff.

The food here is really, really good. Small plates with a taste you definitely will not forget, be prepared to spend a little, but your taste buds will definitely thank you for it. Try the tacos as well as the smoked salmon.

Nice bar/ restaurant in a very sweet area. Good quality and tasty food. Price and sizes are average.

Love the integration of the Salt Soy menu however sad to see a few Alchemy staples leave. Open atmosphere with plenty of seating, ambient lightening, and convenient location. Parking can be challenging depending on time of evening. Dani was a good server. We did wait a while for water and cocktail refills at times.

Good happy hour drinks. Food not so good. Unbearably hot inside. Very slow service but won’t serve you more than one drink at a time. Bizarre. Edit in response to owner: thank you for fixing the a/c, as that has been a longstanding issue. But I’m afraid y’all have either severely angered someone with ABC or you are misunderstanding the LBD rules because it is perfectly legal to serve more than one drink apart from late-night. If that’s an establishment policy, then fine, but it would probably speed up your service.

The whiskey selection is great and the bartenders are knowledgeable about most things boozy. The food quality, once great, has slipped a bit over the years -- so much so that I have stopped recommending the place for eats but as more of a great bar to stop in before or after your meal at better restaurants in Cooper Young. The roasted brussels sprouts are still on point though. Made with bacon, apples and brown sugar vinaigrette, they're a plate of sweet, savory & bitter goodness. Get those.

Regarding salt soy at Alchemy: 1. Very warm inside, 82, according to the thermostat. Also, There are no blinds for the afternoon sun. 2. Service not the same as original location. 3. The old location had a quieter restaurant feel, now it feels like a loud bar that serves food. Food is still decent, although The Big Hoss sushi roll is not on the menu anymore. 4. Missing the old location…..

After making a reservation earlier in the day we arrive at the restaurant to find out our table had been taken and reservation canceled. They did there best to find us a table quickly to make up for it. Drinks were mediocre, nothing crazy good. We did enjoy our food but ordered an appetizer that was brought out at the same time as our entree. Waitress was decent when she wasn't drinking her coffee off in the corner. Will we go back, maybe.

Alchemy has an interesting cocktail list and a nice whiskey selection. The staff are friendly and attentive. The sweet chili wings were good and the don buri was solid. Unfortunately the ramen was the worst that I’ve ever had. It just had no flavor and what was there wasn’t tasty. I love ramen and couldn’t eat more than 1/4th of it. The egg was very good though I will give them that. I’ll definitely come back just will stay away from the ramen.

This place has steadily gone down hill over the past year. The bartenders cannot dependably make the cocktails on the list with any consistency, and ordering an off-menu basic like a negroni often comes out with incorrect ingredients. Ordered a martini with a twist today which came full of actual lemon juice and a glass half full. Ready for this to move out of CY and a strong restaurant to take its place.

Is suppose to be one of the nicer bars in Memphis. They weren't serving alcohol on a Saturday. They did offer us food. The staff was nice. But we dropped off our baby with a sitter on a weekend to find it closed.
