Malanga receives mixed reviews. Many praise the delicious Cuban food, cozy atmosphere, and attentive service, especially the churrasco, lechon, and garbanzo frito. However, some customers report issues with food quality, slow service, and microwaved dishes.
Tip: Try the churrasco or garbanzo frito with chorizo, but be aware that some customers have experienced inconsistent food quality and slow service.

Great place and reasonable prices. We had the chicken milanesa and the shrimp tostones. Huge plates and we could not even accept the 3 options for side plates . Highly recommended place for Cuban food
The place looks nothing extraordinary, small , just two servers but was quite a surprise the food was amazingly delicious specially the Garbanzo frito with chorizo uff delicious I had a very nice lunch and ofcourse and the Staff is kind and friendly not enough good reviews for them definitely coming back
Fun place in South Miami. It's a small little restaurant that felt intimate. They made us feel like family and told us all their favorite dishes and what they love to add to them. They are very hard workers. Out food was delicious and I recommend the nachos.
I ordered the fried garbanzo with chorizo and a medium Churrasco skirt steak. the menu has good options. Lentil soup is one of them. The chicken and beef (pork is listed in the beef section) . They have boiled malanga and malanga fritters here. I will have to return and order the Malanga dishes. The food look home cooked and very good . I do recommend
We enjoyed the kids steak fingers, the kids cheese sandwich had a little twist...served up on Cuban bread with mayo and swiss and a classic Sopa de Pollo. The food was delicious and the staff were welcoming
Excellent service and awesome food. Prices are reasonable. Churrasco was awesome and lechoncita in guava salsa was great. Food temperature and presenta matched the good ambience. Nice experience overall.
From the moment you walk in the ambience and atmosphere takes you to another place.... a place in time , celebration and celebrities. The service was excellent , and the food was presented well. Definitely will recommend this place for any occasion. Looking forward to comeback and try different dishes. LuisNaranjo
Love the “Cuban dichos” on the walls. Cozy, warm, friendly, and most importantly - delicious.
Muy delicioso ! Trans: Very delicious ! From the taste buds of my Cuban wife to you. Try It, you are going to love it.
Good was great. Service was very fast and attentive.

Good was great. Service was very fast and attentive.
Good food, server refused to make a vegetarian cheese to for my daughter who doesn't eat meat. I was forced to purchase a Cuban sandwich with no meat and just cheese. I was willing to pay for the price. Really weird and disappointing. 😒
The food, and service were amazing the croquetas are the best you must have when you come here but all the food here was great no complaints our waitress Kelly was the best
Amazing food! Plates are big that you can share! I never ate anything bad at Malanga! I live around the corner and it's a very convenient place to dine and lunch is also delicious! I recommend!
The food is amazing and staff is very personable and attentive. The only thing I wish is that I lived closer and would be going there more often than I do.
It was not my first time here, however, this time we went to dine Inside. The service was very nice. Our waitress was Katherine, she was very attentive, friendly and cheerful. Good food, sangria and dessert. We'll be back
The vaca frita de pollo was AMAZING. Nice family owned restaurant. During our visit we saw some cops having coffee up at the coffee bar. We left with full stomachs, and smiles on our faces. Will be back!
Excellent food, even better service. We are new to Miami and they were very welcoming and kind. The food was delicious and service was very efficient
Amazing place to come to. The owners decorate the place to remind you of Cuba so well. The food is AMAZING as well; great quality- highly recommend trying the palomilla steak. Everything on the menu is delicious too. It's the perfect small, family owned, great quality food restaurant to go on a date or with family.
We were sat right away. I must say that between the service and the amazing food I’m thoroughly impressed. I have been driving by this place for years. I’m glad we finally decided to stop by. We had the vaca frita and the pan con lechón. Both were juicy and delicious. Our server was attentive and made us feel like we were at home. Over all great experience!!
BEST croquetas in Miami!! The food here is always amazing so I ordered from them for my baby shower and the catering is on point ! I got the mini sandwiches, salad and bacon wrapped Maduros— a must try!!
Wonderful food!! ambiance and incredible service!!!! The appetizers are insane my favorite is bacon wrapp Madurai’s and of course the best croquettes and cilantro sauce on the planet!!! Order the vaca Frita de pollo!!! Wow!!!!!!!
The food was amazingly good, the place has such a cool vibe. I will definitely return to eat here when in the area, I can’t wait to try any other dishes.
Excellent food! I've been eating cuban food all my life and this place rocks! Big portions, great taste, and affordable!
Family get together on Friday night, house full of Cubans and everyone loved the food from Malanga. We like it better than La Carreta or Versalles. Large order was ready on time as promised. Pressure dealing with them.
Quaint cafe with pictures of celebs etc on the walls. Food is incredible, and service is fast. It wasn't exceptionally busy, but we were there for lunch on a Wednesday. The tostones were incredible topped with baby shrimp and fresh herbs with a squeeze of fresh lime was the perfect appetizer. The Marinated Pork Chunks were flavorful, and perfectly prepared to be tender on the inside. The world famous Grilled Pork sandwich lived up to its name with shredded pork sauted onions lettuce, and a side of pico de Gallo. A very enjoyable experience.
I recently dined at Malanga Restaurant, and I must say, the experience exceeded my expectations on multiple fronts. Firstly, the customer service was exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who were attentive, courteous, and eager to accommodate any requests. Their professionalism and genuine friendliness truly enhanced the dining experience. Now, let’s talk about the food. The Churrasco and Congri with fries that I ordered were absolutely delightful. The churrasco was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, with just the right amount of seasoning. Paired with the flavorful congri and crispy fries, every bite was a burst of deliciousness. The presentation was also impressive, reflecting the attention to detail and care put into each dish. Overall, I would highly recommend Malanga Restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. With outstanding customer service and delectable dishes like the Churrasco and Congri with fries, it’s no wonder this establishment has garnered such a stellar reputation. I look forward to returning soon to indulge in more of their mouthwatering offerings.
Food was incredible and place is warm, cozy, and very professional. Had the caramelized chicken, maraquitas, and flan. Everything tastes like I just had a home cooked meal. I spoke to the chef because it was so good. Of course, because they make everything from scratch. Love love this place.
Amazing, simply amazing. I had the Cuban nachos. I’m a nachos lover so when I ordered them I thought it might be a shame to come to a Cuban restaurant and order such a standard dish. It turned out to be uniquely Cuban and some of the best nachos I have ever had. It’s not just a plate of cheese with chips. Don’t get me wrong I love a plate of cheese and chips every so often, if they are done right. This was next level, nothing common about it. For one, there were no chips. Instead the toppings came on large flattened plantains that were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of doneness on the outside to hold together and provide a good texture and the middle was soft like an outstanding french fry. The combination of tomatoes, onions, micro greens, and what ever else on top was fresh and who ever made it had good enough knife skills to have consistent pieces just the right size to combine with the other ingredients just the right way without having an occasional obnoxiously large onion or something take over the flavor of the bite. Lastly, the part so good it made me close my eyes and sigh in pure delight was a most wonderfully flavored shredded pork (res) that I would go way out of my way to experience again. Putting all these things together made for an experience way beyond my expectations and put to shame last nights dinner I spent $60 on. This place has someone gifted and dedicated to excellence back there somewhere who has a love affair for the heart of this food. I’m traveling around the country but I will definitely come back here again before I leave. Don’t let the prices fool you, this place serves some of the best food you can eat. If you like this type of food I highly recommend you try it. You won’t regret it
Great service! Our server was very pleasant and went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience. We enjoyed the food. The malanga fritters were delicious and the special of the day - churrasco with shrimp was very good. First time here... we will be back!
We did a take out order for my daughter's graduation, and we had so much food left over! Thats a great thing since i was able to take food to work. FOOD WAS AMAZING! Customer service was also great! Will definitely order again!!!
The food is great and the service is excellent! You can have a great dinner in the company of family and friends or you can enjoy a happy hour on a Friday evening. This place can be ideal either for a party of two or for a group of ten. What I really like about this place in particular besides their Cuban/Spanish cuisine, is that is hardly ever crowded (at least the times I have been there). This place is an A+++!
I’ve been coming here for years and I have never had a bad experience and my wife has ordered the lechon for New Years before and it is incredible. For people complaining about the price, you get what you pay for. I e always eaten the pan con lechon and malanga soup and they are both incredible. The croquettes were ok.
Had a great experience at this restaurant. Food was delicious, service great and professional. So good that we took food home. Definitely recommend.
A few things about Malanga. Being a chef myself for over 30 years I'm very picky not only for great food but for cleanliness as well as hospitality. The staff is always eager to ensure you're being treated as their favorite customer the moment you walk in the door. They're pleasant and make you feel as if you've arrived at their home and they're happy you're dining with them. The environment is extremely clean, well kept and every employee is with a smiling face which tells me the owners not only choose intelligent staff, they treat them as family. The food is great, and if I order the same thing again on any other visit it's consistently identical each and every time which tells me they take pride in their execution and display of their products. The portions are fantastic and for some reason the prices are very moderate. I would recommend Malanga to anyone who wants great food, fast & friendly service with a smile, and a warm inviting environment. GREAT PLACE, UNDOUBTEDLY 5 STARS
Very good pork with guava sauce. Everything was good
Very good pork with guava sauce. Everything was good
Delicious food and good service at a nice price. Shredded chicken with onions and mango sauce, and pork entrees were both very good. Congri and fried plantains were out favorite sides.
Great food, service and prices. Food taste authentic and not over seasoned. My favorite item on the menu is the Santiagero.. Big servings of rice, pork and platanitos fritos.. I love this place alot.. Edit: -1 star. They reduced the portions and also reduced the amount of plantans of the Santiagero. Also the tomatos tasted like they were cut and left outside for along time with a dank water taste. They weren't roton, but just didn't taste fresh.
Food was good. A little over priced for Cuban Food. Small area. Wouldn't be ideal for a large group unless you reserved prior. Some servers are quicker than others. Came here because I bought a Groupon. Cozy.
My husband and I had a very nice dinner at this gourmet Cuban restaurant. I ordered La Lechoncita, which was pork cooked with onions and sprinkled with a light but sweet and tasty guava sauce. It was very good! I also enjoyed a refreshing glass of sangria. We’ll be back!
This is one of our favorite Cuban food restaurants because the food (mostly cooked by the owner) is not only delicious but fresh. Tony has the "perfect flavor" added to the most authentic Cuban dishes with the typical ambiance that sets the mood for a good dining experience. Highly recommend it!
So this place is great when it's great but that doesn't always happens. Sometimes a hit or miss. But me and my son love coming here for the atmosphere and to just enjoy the time when we need to breathe. I gave it 4 stars because even if the food isn't always amazing, the place is just good to have a glass of wine, have some mariquitas and enjoy the afternoon.
The atmosphere is ok. The food was ok. Prices a bit too high, but given the area it is located in, it's a given that the prices would be high. Service? Well our waitress didn't really pay much attention to us. And when it was time for the bill she was on a personal call and not paying attention one bit. For good authentic Latin food, I would say go somewhere else.
I don’t give a 5 star because it doesn’t have too many items/food related to the actual Malanga. I order a Malanga cream and it was the worst Malanga Cream or soup or Purée that I ever had, it had no salt, it tasted watery and it had a taste like one if the Malangas were rotten. The Frituras de Malanga had the same tastes of rotten and sour. The Pan con Bistec was great… no complaints. The plates presentation and the service was very good but definitely I won’t be coming back to this restaurant…
Nothing out of this World. Just another average cuban restaurant in Miami. Didn't find the food fresh made. Service was kind of slow.

The food was better than ok. Croquette sandwich was delish, the ropa vieja was ok. The service was not good. Forgot a dish for one of the people at the table and never brought water to table
Lot of room for improvement. We order thru Grubhub and the food arrived warm getting cold. My wife’s lentils soup had a weird smell, and they were only lentils, taking in consideration that a soup comes with carrots, salary and more, just plains lentils. My tostones were very greasy and the congris has room for improvement as well. $15 for my plate and $7 for my wife’s “lentils soup”, next time we will consider somewhere else to order from.
Just ok, average. We've been here before a few times however the food had always been good. This wasn't the case Saturday afternoon. I visited with my wife for lunch and we found that our meal was bland and lacked "sazon". I ordered a vaca frita which was so hard and chewy it felt like I was eating rubber. My wife ordered a palomilla steak which was a good size but lacked flavor. Service was great though..
Place is really small, too many tables. Wait staff is hit or miss. We had to ask for bread, some tables had others didn't. Overpriced!! Portion quantities are small. Guava pork was really tasty and so was the chicken vaca frita....May or may not go back again.
My food 🥘 was ok 👌 it cost basically $20 for a Ropa Vieja. My rice 🍚 was good my meat 🥩 in sauce was bland not much flavor. My Fried yuca which I didn’t get fried yuca they gave me broil was horrible it tasted very old. It’s just too much money for my food not to be excellent. I won’t be coming here anymore.
Do not order through Uber eats. They always mess up the orders. Its the 4th time I order from them and 3 out of the 4 times, they have messed up the orders (they forget to add an item or two). But its my fault for coninuing to order from here. The food is good, just pick it up yourself and check it before you leave. If you use uber eats and you call them to complain, they'll blame uber eats. They do not take any responsibility.
Looks like someone's dinning room. Food isn't too bad, but it's $17 for this Cuban bowl which was more rice than anything else. Where's the rest of the chicken? Stop skimping out on the reason people buy the bowls.

I ordered chicken cordon blue and i did not expected to be from Winn Dixie frozen food section. It is not fresh chicken; it was processed chicken, the texture is completely different, looks like a gum. Since it is a small restaurant, not like a chain I expected to be more handmade type of food.
Nothing was exceptional. There was a huge amount of food - each order could have been shared by 2 people. The restaurant was attractive - bright and colorful. The sore point however was that the waitresses could not speak a word of English - they did not understand "decaf coffee" or water or beer. There was one woman who came out to help - she had to be the owner or manager. If you're waiting tables you should be able to understand fork, napkin, water - just common words. The restaurant is in Pinecrest where you have a mix of people - certainly not just Hispanic. We would not go back. There was nothing special about anything we ate.
My husband want it a “media noche”well the media noche was two piece of bread with warm cheese and the meat was not the one I use to eat in a “media noche” I grew up in Miami and it was not toast, my mistake I didn’t open the box to see what it was inside Malanga use to be a good restaurant and I’d they can’t make a sandwich what else! well my sister in law ask for the menu and the girl at the front had a bad attitude, you know the look 👀!well for $22 dólares at least you should get a good service!!!!
Food is good. Very pricey for Cuban food. They have some deal on the table with no restrictions and then tell you it's only on the weekdays. Poor customer service in that aspect. Save yourself some cash and head to any other Cuban place.
I ordered delivery and was very disappointed. If it weren’t because the cuban bowl was very good, I would’ve definitely rated them with one star. The lentil soup tasted like vinegar and the malanga cream did not look or taste like a malanga cream.
The food is good but the customer service is extremely poor for the lack of a better word. From experiences in person and over the phone, don’t even bother looking for a pleasant experience. Save yourself the headache and just order to go. You’ll have a better experience at home with a pet fish.
waiters/ waitress very nice however they are not allowed to keep tips it all goes to the manger. T he are not clean with there food either dropped on the floor and picks it up back on the plate🤮
The pan con lechon is pretty average for a restaurant that has “worlds best pan con lechon” signage. They had two waiters on the floor. The gentleman seemed nice and attentive. The lady, which served me, was very brash and rude. The croquettas were pretty good. The food came out pretty quick.
Disappointed. In on a Tuesday night, one of 3 couples in the place, waitress took forever. Food tasted old and reheated and they got my wife's plate wrong. The put a fried egg on it when it wasn't on the menu and we didn't ask for it. It's a shame because we've been there plenty of times before and the food and service is usually excellent.
The restaurant itself feels like I'm eating in someone's dining room, with a lot of clutter and not really much space. The food could be better for the price, you can literally get everything on the menu at a much cheaper price elsewhere at other small restaurants. If you're going to order through Uber eats or any other food ordering app; don't bother putting extra chicken for the up charge. They will give you the same portion. I have ordered cuban bowls from here multiple times and I ordered extra chicken, I got the same amount of chicken, but they still charged me for it. The staff is very adamant and don't care if you're upset or have concerns, they just reassure themselves that they are right and carry on. I'm giving them 2 stars simply because the food is edible.
I really wanted to like this place, but maybe they should wait on doing delivery or to-go orders. We ordered for 6 people today and no one enjoyed their food. The Churrasco was not Churrasco. It was a palomilla. Churrasco is a fatty skirt steak. This was basically the cheapest, thinnest meat resembling the same meat you get in a Pan Con Bistec, but less flavorful. It was tough to chew and I gave up. They charged real Churrasco prices for that chancleta. The pan con Bistec...ay mi madre, who puts mayo on a Pan con Bistec? I get it, you're in Pinecrest so you're probably trying to cater to a certain melanin deficient demographic pero papi, mayo? No. For dessert we ordered arroz con leche and again, disappointed. I get that no one is like Abuela Amparo, but this tasted more like store bought arroz con leche (and not the kind you get at Sedanos either) I'm not writing this place off just yet. I'm hopeful that their in dining experience is better and their food is better. I'll give them another shot, just not too soon. That chancleta of a Churrasco is going to take a minute to resolver.
Crema de Malanga had no flavor, lechón just ok but Black beans were watery and not tasty, maduros and rice were cold and dry, even the coffee was cold. Just the flan was good but overly priced. Not a good experience!
Online order 12/5/2024: Absolutely disgusting. Full of grease, cold and they also put the small and very expensive slice of avocado ($ 3.00), with the rest of the food; this naturally caused it to turn black, and roll around with the rest of the food.
Never in my life I have so bad experience having dinner, the services the way they treat and speak to the costumer is not correct, the food is nasty the pork meat was made several day before to be serve, the plantain came from a frozen package, everything is reheated on the microwave, it is disrespectful and theft to the customer for what they charge for not fresh and prefrozen food. Also the half bottle of Sangria for 25.00 dollars was made like 1 cup of red wine with 2 cup of soda and 6 small pieces of canned fruit, not a single piece of fresh fruit such as orange or apples, really a placed like this I don't know how can be still open.
First and last time, we wNted authenyic cuban food . We ended up very disappointed a cuban eestaurant that does not serve cuban bread, we ordered croquetas and they didn' t have sny ceackers. Ended up ordering some scrambled eggs that were mediocre at best.
Terrible Cuban food. Ordered the lechon asado that looks delicious in their website — the reality the lechon is a fried pork shop. A Cuban place that can Not make typical food. Please see the picture. The manager said that the masa’s de pierce are the pork shop. Don’t go there. Horrible comida Cubana. Ordenaos lechon asado y now dieron pork shop.
Yesterday I went to have a nice dinner with my partner and was unexpected and nasty dinner time in a restaurant. The food was preheated on the microwave, the way we see and hear how they trea another customer was unrespectful to them and to all what we was there. The half sangria bottle for $ 25.00 dollars was nasty in the way was made with canned fruit some little piece 3 by a glass without wine taste or flavor.

Skip it, nothing worth your time, we went for the lechon asada, Vaca Frita and the chorizo appetizer, everything was over greased, like it was reheated in extra salty oil as well as the service. Only 4 tables and 2 waiters couldn't get a refill of water.
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food. The ropa vieja was made with marinara sauce and did not taste traditional, the lechón asado looked like a pork chop. The services was good but the food was not and it was over priced!
We were the only customers for about 30 minutes and they took forever. The busboy pretty much did everything but take the order. Table cloth was nasty , had fresh stains from food and God knows what. Bathroom was also smelly and dirty.
This place use to be so good and we keep giving it tries and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. We order take out and they don’t have welcoming service. The last several times we’ve ordered they are always out of items on the menu. The portions on take out for some of the items are like kids portions. You don’t get what you pay for.
Oweful. We just left Malanga, if we could give it Zero stars we would. We ordered lechon asado and were served pork stake. The waitress insisted more than once that it was lechon asado. Any person from the Caribbean or Latin America knows a good lechon asado. The stake was dry, tasteless and the waitress had the ovaries to say it was lechon asado. Will never return again. Not far from this place, Las Dos Palmas restaurant serves authentic Cuban food at half the price AND is delicious. Shame on us we stayed and ate a portion of what was served.
The service from the waitresses was very good Fast Very nice. Pan con lechon sucked. It did not taste like lechon at all. The meat did not have any taste whatsoever. The owner or manager not sure was arguing with somebody in the kitchen saying bad words in Spanish so to me this is my first and last time here..
My parents picked up food for me at this restaurant and part of our order was missing and the food that was there was not authentic Cuban food at all. When we contacted the restaurant about the missing food we were treated terribly by someone claiming to be the owner. Avoid this place, there are much better places that deserve your patronage and will honor you with good food and friendly service.
Visited this restaurant again, sometimes you must give a second chance, but again I wasn’t wrong the food was blah, the black beans were awful and the lentil soup was extremely watery. The malanga fritters were bland. I will not be returning. Service was good though. Please fire the cook!!!
I was hopeful the second time around. I just gave away 100$ to the restaurant. Service needs to improve. Drink orders should be attended to correctly. Out of four dishes only my son's "hamburger was good". Beautiful place but dry pork and flavorless .....dry rice Arroz moro. Had to ask waiter for first glass of water many times over a 40 min period. I couldn't believe the other comments until I went and experienced it again. The owner should take these comments with seriousness. Nice place to see Cuban history but take a bag lunch until service and food improve My family has taken this off the family restaraunt list.
Very disappointed in the snapper I ordered. As soon as the waitress put it in front of me, my friend and I smelled the fish. It was a stale fishy smell. I tasted it and it was awful. It was rubbery, very salty and tasteless. I immediately spit it out and returned it. I have had some good meals at Malangas in the past and never expected them to serve me rotten fish but that is exactly what they did. The two tostones were also stale, cold and hard. The worst thing was that I brought guests from New York who had never eaten at a Cuban restaurant. Their meals was not much better. Will not go three again.
This place ruined our Christmas eve dinner. After ordering a roated pig and being charged $250.0 , on the 24 th we went to pick up our pig and they said it was no pig done for us. They have 2 roasted legs left, they told us to take the legs and they will return the money to us, after several phone call they refused to return our money. Not a very trusted place. Dont waist your time there.
I’ve been a few times and have always loved the food until today! Ordered a pan con bistec which was brought to me with in 3 mins (wonder how fresh it was-definitely not made to order). The steak was thick and chewy. Only had a few bites and left the rest behind. The quality of food has declined. Very disappointing
I ordered a pan con lechon which is supposed to be very good. I was TOTALLY disappointed, not even served on Cuban bread. The meat was scarce with no seasoning, (tasteless), dry and served with lettuce, not a single onion. I had ordered the same thing when you first opened at the location a couple of blocks away and it was not good. I decided to give it another try, to my regret. Instead of improving it's gotten worse. Will never order there again.
This restaurant is just managed terribly. Poor guy waiting tables by himself on a Friday night. They didn’t have mariquitas, they didn’t have maduros.. again management.. the cook was terrible, food was really bad. I was actually kind of surprised how bad the food was.. and cold but we wanted to try for ourselves after reading reviews. I never leave reviews but the guy waiting tables by himself on a Friday night handling all the mobile orders and everything deserves for someone to hear this.
Service was not great, food was cold and the order was taken incorrectly; brang out the wrong food. My wife’s steak was also still mooing. I used to love coming here but this place took a turn for the worst. You don’t even have one server, it is everyone helping you at the same time. There was a 10% off coupon on the table if you sign up for messages and they stated that it’s not valid anymore….. then why are you still announcing it? Overall super dissatisfied and disappointed. Last time spending my money here.
We tried going there last Friday night as we were craving Cuban Vaca frita. We were regulars at the previous location. The new restaurant was empty and smelled damp, but we sat and tried to order anyway. The waiter was not able to switch any non-carby veggies for sides on any order. We even offered to pay an upcharge for a simple side salad (dietary restrictions). Really?? Despite our best efforts in trying to make alternate suggestions, we ended up having to leave. When your customers are trying harder than your staff and their excuse is that "the computer won't let me do it", it's time to move on... we are sorry to see one of our favorites go downhill like this.
My order was sent incorrectly when ordered from Uber. I asked for no onions but got the sandwich with onions. I spoke to owner Pablo & he was super rude & would not send a replacement order. I will not be ordering from here or recommend.
Went today and will not return. Poor waiter who spoke either Portuguese or another foreign law as doing all the work. The owner was standing near cash register and poor waiter was answering the phone too. There was a lady chatting on her phone next to owner and was not helping at all.The food was mediocre at best…
This is not by all means a cuban restaurant. The interior of the restaurant has photos of cuban celebrities and signatures on the wall that looks pretty cool. However the food was not good at all. I had the white rice, red beans and the milanesa de pollo. Rice was clumpy, beans were serious watery and the chicken milanesa was done in reverse order. Chicken, then ham, cheese and tomato sauce on top, that's not how it's made. The yuca frita were hard as a rock, the cook and the owners are definitely not cuban. This is not the old Malanga restaurant that once was. The server was very nice, I Will not go there again.
If I can give it zero stars I would! Besides the chicken tasting like rubber and the rice halfway cooked the amount of money for the plate is incredible and apart from that when They forgot one of my meals charged me I went back and the owner could not even speak with me she had her front ladies tell me that there’s nothing that she could do for me she cannot speak to me that she’s very busy to figure it out! Never again not worth not one freaking penny and the customer service with it is even horrible! Super unprofessional go to Pinecrest Bakery instead!
Sorry but I have to be honest! Terrible service! The manager said hi to two tables but never thought once to come and say hello. He looked our way more than once but he just did not want to come say hello. Not there for the manager but it’s the curteos thing to do. The food was OK even though the portions are quite small. Prices are too high for the quality of the food. Next time I’ll just simply go back to Sergio‘s. My advice is go straight to Sergio‘s.
I really wanted to like this place. Service was excellent. Our waiter sat us quickly and took our order. The food, WOW what a disappointment. Vaca Frita was burnt and dry, I ate what I could because I was starving, but had to complain about this one. My wifes churrasco, a chewy mess and hardly any taste. The mariquitas were fresh and good but thats hard to mess up. Prices are way expensive for what they serve. Sorry, but not coming back here or recommending this place.
On the 24th We had the worst experience we could have.I ordered roast 🐷 for our Christmas’ Eve dinner. When we picked it up it seemed great. The surprise came later, this was just a lot of rice covered by a thin poor 🐷, just the bones and skin. Incredible, just a lot of rice(congri) and the poor skinny pork. I even took a picture. I feel like a paid more than 240.00 dollars for a lot of rice and no pork at all. I tried to contact the restaurant several times but nobody answered. I e-mailed them and included the picture, no answer. Finally today in the morning someone answered the phone, I explained what had happened, she told me she was going to talk to the owners. Up to now no one has contacted me and I feel disappointed, disrespected and ashamed with my family. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
Friday 12/27 we arrived to the cafe at 7:38pm and immediately the server looked down at her watch as we entered. My wife and I possibly reading the action wrong, checked to see at what time the restaurant closed. 9pm said the sign on the door, but 8:40pm the server advised verbally in a later conversation. My wife suggested that we leave. I said no, let's give them a chance. I really wanted authentic Cuban cuisine being that we had just arrived from Key West minutes before. Positives: food arrived quickly, drinks were cold, atmosphere was clean. Negatives: Moro Rice was barely warm, Plastic strand was found in my rice and zero resolution to what it was or where it came from was given. Not even an apology was given. The Ropa Vieja tasted good and was hot. 4 hours later I through up the whole meal in the hotel.
