Amazing service from Vini. He was a pleasure. He was super personable with great customer service which is rare to find these days. Sofia is great for a date, birthday dinner or a special occasion. Ambiance is pink, artsy and cozy chic. The food was good but I gave 4 stars because C of the cocktails. Too sweet in my personal Preference but overall good!
I cannot emphasize how awesome this place is. I am a regular and have done group dinners/ bar dinners/ solo dinners/ cocktail hours and have been treated with the upmost respect by everyone. The pasta dishes are cooked perfectly and basically the closest I’ve tried to authentic Italian. Bread basket? Forget about it (chefs kiss). Branzino, Veal Milanese and Lamb Chops have been my favorite proteins here.
I usually come to Design District and had an eye on Sofia. We came one night and it was empty outside and we worried that the place wasn’t going to deliver but actually it was raining. We were positively surprised with amazing food, Giuseppe’s attention which was the best ! He truly made a difference and everyone that provided service was so so kind: very nice place. Don’t hesitate to try it
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Salvatore was truly exceptional and made this one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. We are diners of top restaurants all over the world, and this easily ranks among our best experiences internationally. From start to finish, Salvatore was attentive, knowledgeable, warm, and perfectly intuitive to our needs without ever being intrusive. His care, timing, and attention to detail elevated an already outstanding meal into something genuinely special. The food itself was absolutely incredible — beautifully prepared, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable — but it was Salvatore’s service that made the entire evening feel effortless and elevated. This was not just a great dinner, but a world-class dining experience, and Salvatore played a huge role in making it so. We can’t wait to return.
Loved our dinner here! We had Alessandro as our server and his service was excellent. We ordered the burrata, spicy rigatoni, and cacio e pepe. The pastas are some of the best I’ve tried in Miami! We absolutely will be back
What a fantastic evening at Sofia! The setting is beautiful — modern, stylish and warm — perfect for a chic night out in Miami. The food really delivers: The staff treated us like VIPs, attentive and friendly. Highly recommend for a special dinner in the Design District
From start to finish, everything about this place was incredible. The service was top-notch — my server, Orlando, was absolutely amazing. He was attentive, friendly, and made the whole dining experience even better. The atmosphere was vibrant yet comfortable, with the perfect balance of energy and relaxation. It’s the kind of place that feels special but still welcoming. The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared, and the presentation made it even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of menu where you know you can’t go wrong no matter what you order. Between the outstanding service, the wonderful atmosphere, and the unforgettable food, this restaurant has truly earned a spot in my top 10 favorites in Miami. I can’t wait to return!
One of my favorite restaurants in Miami!! I had my birthday lunch with friends at Sofia and it was beyond perfect. With Sofia, you get it all, a beautiful restaurant, amazing food and drinks and the most attentive staff. If you’re in Miami, Sofia’s is a must.
Stunning restaurant with great food, music and design ⭐️ Went for a drink on the outside patio and stayed for the Lemon Caviar Pasta special! The DJ was playing great music and the service was super friendly The people watching is great as you are in the courtyard of the design district.
Marvin our bartender and the Gary the manager went over and beyond in both occasions I’ve visited Miami in the design district! I will be a loyal customer everytime I visit Miami! It’s a must place to visit even if you enjoy just a mocktail/cocktail the environment is a must experience!
Orlando was my bartender and waitress , he’s so phenomenally cool and chill , attentive and his recommendations were spot on .. I added lobster to my pasta for a little razzle dazzle , everything was 10/10 !! I will be coming back !
Just go, it’s so cute. The portions are great. The music is great. The servers are interesting and fun. The people are so fun to watch. Totally understand why this is popular and there are so many videos on social media about it. Dishes are packed with flavor, even though staged beautifully. Hard to find that combo in Miami sometimes!
Amazing service! Our waiter, Orlando, was very attentive, friendly, welcoming, efficient, and genuinely caring. He made the whole experience exceptional!
Sofía Italian Restaurant sits right in the middle of the Miami Design District — a neighborhood where just walking around feels like scrolling through a luxury magazine: designer storefronts, art-like buildings, and picture-perfect spots on every corner. But here’s the part no one tells you: parking is a struggle. There’s no private lot, the valet gets full fast, and public parking is a few blocks away. So if you're going with someone wearing high heels, do the smart thing — drop her at the entrance, go park, download the meter app, and walk the blocks yourself. Don’t make her hike across the district in pain. Once inside, the vibe shifts completely: elegant, modern, great appetizers, and excellent service. I didn’t order a main dish — it was more of a “drink cava and talk with friends” night — but the place is perfect for long conversations and slow dining. Great food, great atmosphere, great photos… just plan ahead for the parking.
From the moment my family and I walked up to the door we were greeted with smiles and hospitality. Nico was our waiter and was extremely attentive we were 10 mins passed brunch time and he asked to see if they could honor the brunch menu. Also when we were leaving he came out to find us and said here is an UMBRELLA ☂️ it is about to RAIN! WOW WOW WOW. The service is above and beyond. Sofia is a gem in the design district.
At the heart of the fashion district, there lies a gem among the luxury. Like an elixir for your palate is Sofia. An upscale restaurant that offers traditional Italian cuisine. Decorated in Art Deco style you will see the pop energy that represents Miami culture. The highly skilled bartender will create the best cocktail for you. And the kitchen provides a fantastic flavour of Italy. I ordered the Milanese was crispy, and the burrata refresh the palate with a sparkling wine for a hot summer. The only reason because they got an star less for service was a bit slow. The whole crew were/ are amazing!
came to Sofía for Happy Hour and everything was excellent. The drinks were delicious, the vibe was great, and the service was overstanding! A huge shout-out to Marvin, the bartender — he was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell he truly enjoys what he does. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great drinks and top-notch service.
Had a lovely Miami Spice lunch at Sofia. Sat in the most adorable 2 person booth. Food was great, service was efficient, and even though the restaurant was hosting a large party for a Bridal shower, they were able to attend to our table just like any other day. Very pleased with the experience. No “nose up” attitude for ordering Miami spice. Would definitely come back!

Had a great night at Sofia in the Design District. The food was really good, and the DJ set the vibe perfectly with chill electronic music mixed with other genres—smooth, cool, and not too loud. Special mention to Diego, the Venezuelan bartender—his cocktails were top-notch and definitely a highlight of the night. Full disclosure: I somehow managed to take the two worst pictures ever taken in a restaurant. They don’t do Sofia any justice, so take my word for it—the place looks way better in real life than in my camera roll

Salvatore aka Sal has been an amazing host as we enjoy our dinner! He shows so much love we love the way he is so attentive and kind towards us. And the managers don’t get me started just as attentive, couldn’t ask for a better experience. Love , Nat
The ambiance is incredibly lively and enjoyable! The staff is also so accommodating and friendly. The lobster pasta is absolutely delicious! I thoroughly enjoy my time here.

First time visiting Sofia and I have to say I'm impressed. Their menu is varied, but we decided to try their Miami spice trio of entree, main, and dessert. It came with fritto misto and a burrata, then the two main dishes were a salmon with mushrooms and a spaghetti al pomodoro; and to finish it all, we had the tiramisú and a vanilla gelato. My salmon at first was a bit undercooked - which brings me to the thing that impressed me the most: their service. The extremely attentive server informed her manager Gary that I wasn't satisfied (although, I had said I was okay and they didn't need to change it), they showed serious proactivity and insisted on having the salmon come out exactly how I preferred. And all conducted in a genuine, attentive manner. It was truly impressive, and I cannot emphasize that very positive factor enough. Last but not least, they offer outside and inside seating options, and both are very trendy and comfy. Definitely looking forward to going there again and trying other items.
Absolutely incredible experience at Sofias! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, stylish, and inviting. The food and drinks were top-notch, every bite was bursting with flavor and perfectly presented. A huge shout-out to Marvin, the bartender, who made the night unforgettable. His service was attentive and friendly, and his cocktail recommendations were spot-on. You can tell he truly cares about the guest experience and takes pride in what he does. Whether you’re local or just visiting Miami, Sofias is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back, five stars all around! 🌟
One of my favorite places for modern Italian cuisine. Pastas and pizzas are amazing as well as the seafood! Updating my previous review: I have been here a couple more times and absolutely love the service. Sal is an amazing server and the whole team too, including the managers. The food continues to be excellent! The spicy rigatoni alla vodka was superb!
I’m not great about writing reviews about places that really impress me, but I really wanted to change that with Sofia’s. I attended a private event that bought out the whole restaurant and every single dish was impeccable. The preset menu had a lot of their popular items served family style and there was not a single bad dish on the table. A couple standouts to me were the cacio e pepe al tartufo and the fritto misto. Literal perfection! And that’s coming from someone who was already skeptical before I even walked in the door because a lot of these Miami restaurants are cute, but the quality just isn’t there. Even the “viral“ ones you find on social media. This was the first restaurant that I was thoroughly impressed with in a really long time. Highly recommend!
Wow wow wow! I got recommended to come here by Gustavo the bartender for dinner , and it was the best decision ever. Alonso is great and his drinks are amazing , he had good knowledge on the menu and guided me to an outstanding experience. Excellent and attentive service from the manager Mario , made me feel right at home . A great way to end my vacation will definitely be back here when ever I’m In town . Keep up the great work. A hidden gem in design district .
Amazing dinner at Sofia!!!! We loved it and for sure coming back soon. Rigatoni Alla Vodka was so fresh handmade pasta and sauce. Fritto Misto was perfect crispy amd very light. Service was amazing including management! Mario and Gray. We love them! We did Miami Spice menu and it was a great deal. We paired with Mouton Cadet Sauvignon Blanc was perfect paired. Atmosphere was so lively with great dj.
My boyfriend and I came here and ordered off the Miami Spice menu, so my rating is based on those options and prices. Can't judge their regular menu as it is probably above our usual price point. Also, something to keep in mind is that 20% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. I included pictures of each course for anyone curious about portion size. First, we ordered a bottle of white wine. They had special prices on some bottles for Miami Spice as well. Most were between $50-70. They also brought us a complimentary bread basket, and it was all delicious. For the food, my boyfriend ordered the fried calamari appetizer, and I ordered the raw tuna. My tuna was in a basil sauce that was amazing (save some bread to dunk in this!). I am not big on fried seafood, but my boyfriend liked his appetizer too. For our entrees, I chose the chicken, and my boyfriend had the steak ordered medium rare. Both options were delicious. His steak was cooked perfectly;tender and flavorful, and my chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned. For dessert, there are two options, the tiramisu and the cannoli. Both options are a great end to dinner. The tiramisu is not a traditional tiramisu with ladyfingers, but it is still very good. It had a good balance of cream with the espresso flavor. The cannolis had a tart blood orange jam that was amazing, in contrast to the sweet cream filling. Overall, for $45 their Miami Spice menu is definitely worth it. Service was also great. The servers came routinely to refill our water and wine. They answered all the questions we had right away. Something I did notice is they did not have the Miami Spice menu on the table, you will need to ask for it. If you are looking for a upscale restaurant for a date night dinner I would 100% recommend Sofia during Miami Spice.
Sofia in the Miami Design District is pure magic. I came for brunch and had one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in the city. From the moment I arrived, everything felt intentional the ambiance was chic and inviting, the energy was vibrant yet refined, and the service was truly outstanding. Gary took such incredible care of us. He was warm, professional, and made sure every detail of our meal was perfect. His service alone would bring me back. The food was beyond impressive. The La Romana salad was fresh and flavorful with the perfect crunch. The Tonna was light, elevated, and beautifully plated. The Cacio e Pepe was creamy, luxurious, and absolutely unforgettable a true standout. The Rigatoni was rich and satisfying, cooked perfectly al dente with a bold, comforting sauce. The Branzino was stunning, with crispy skin and tender, flaky fish that was seasoned just right. For dessert, the Tiramisu was dreamy not too sweet, perfectly layered, and incredibly light. The Pistachio Sorbet was refreshing and elegant, the kind of dessert that lingers in your mind long after the last bite. Everything about brunch at Sofia was flawless. From the food to the ambiance to the exceptional service, 5 star dining in the heart of Miami. I can’t wait to come back and I’ll definitely be asking for Gary again.
Everything was great from the food to the service our waiter / bartender Orlando was amazing with great service and recommendations and our hostess was polite gave us a choice between tables I believe her name was kylina but I could be saying it and spelling it it wrong I apologize. The food the pasta the bread and drinks didn’t miss to top it off the place was a vibe
Wow, if you’re looking for stylish aesthetics, a chic atmosphere, top notch quality food & drinks, and phenomenal service, this needs to be your go to spot in Miami. Blown away by this spot, especially for the ultimate girls night out or date night. If ever visiting, please ask for Sal. He was absolutely fantastic and so tentative to our every need. Mario was also so sweet and so great. What a place…
Sofia in the Miami Design District offers a delightful Italian dining experience. We opted for the Miami Spice menu and dined on the outside patio, which was beautifully decorated, adding a charming ambiance to the meal. The service was attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the evening. The highlight was the spicy rigatoni vodka—an outstanding dish and an absolute must-get. Overall, the food was very good, and Sofia is a great choice for a pleasant meal. Reservations can easily be made through OpenTable, making the whole experience seamless. Parking is easily available in the garage one deck below the restaurant.
The food at Sofia in Miami was amazing — the spicy vodka rigatoni was delicious, the branzino and bruschetta were also perfect. The service was excellent. The restaurant has a lively vibe with very loud music. I really enjoyed the food, but the volume made it a bit uncomfortable for me. It’s definitely a great spot for younger crowds — maybe I’m just getting old! 😅 Still, I highly recommend it!
Our experience at Sofia's was an experience to remember. Omar's warm hospitality and menu suggestions made our trip to the Design District worth while. Every staff member who assisted with servicing our group of 8, served with excellence. Thanks Sofia for a wonderful Bday celebration!!
Excellent location, magnificent service and the bread was perfectly made to the Italian standards. I have one note about the food, I am not so sure whether pre-steamed seafood, later served cold is Italian or not. I must say it was delicious, not my preference but definitely edible and it brings a change to your regular menu. The king crab 🦀 was super fresh an it is worth mentioning. Great for a romantic dinner although it is also suitable for all family members as well, specially during lunchtime.
We went there for their Miami spice lunch and the food was so goodddd, service was top tier honestly. Best service I’ve received so far in Miami. Thank you Garry and Mario for an amazing experience at Sofia. Those two are definitely the dream team, their service definitely made the food and ambiance even better! We really enjoyed our Miami spice lunch.
Sofia is the perfect mix of Italian elegance and Miami energy — every detail feels curated, from the beautiful interior and music to the impeccable service. The pasta tastes authentically Italian, the truffle dishes are incredible, and the cocktails are on par with the best lounges in town. It’s one of those places where you just feel good being there — vibrant yet refined.
Sofia in the Miami Design District is where Italian classics meet Miami style, and honestly, it’s a vibe. Tucked right above the Palm Court parking lot (cheap underground parking, easy, no valet drama), it’s the kind of place where the food delivers and the scene does too. Start with the fiori di zucca; crispy fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta and drizzled in honey. It’s the perfect opener if you like your appetizers light, crunchy, and slightly sweet. Basically the appetizer equivalent of a wink. For mains, the black truffle cacio e pepe is a must. I added grilled shrimp and lobster, and have zero regrets. Creamy, rich, and loaded with truffle. I personally would’ve increased the pepper, but that’s just me… I like it bolder than most. The truffle wagyu burger is also a solid move. Rich, juicy, flavorful, and the kind of thing you order when you’re in the mood to spoil yourself (but not with pasta). Drink highlights? The Sofia Spritz is light, citrusy, and exactly what you want in Miami heat. And the DD Old Fashioned brings a smoky, chocolate-bitters twist that’s unexpectedly perfect. Seating-wise, you’ve got options. Inside is modern and energetic, with a sleek dining room and buzzy soundtrack. Outside puts you in the middle of the Design District energy; great for people-watching and soaking up the scene. And major shoutout to our server, Nadica, who made the night. Friendly, fun, and spot-on with every recommendation. Sofia’s the move when you want great food, strong drinks, and a front-row seat to the Design District crowd.
By fare the best meal & overall experience my friend & I had in Miami. We weren't starving, but we wanted something on the lighter side. We came here to cool off & have brunch before shopping 🛍. The staff was super welcoming & attentive... didn't try to pressure or shame you to upsell bottled water, even though they obviously offered it. We really enjoyed it there we came back for our last meal before heading to the airport 🛫 to fly home 🏡. They were also super helpful & accommodating with our luggage 🧳.
Where do I start 🥰😊. I had the best experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere, the service, the genuinely nice host/servers/managers made this experience a GREAT ONE! Gary the manager went above and beyond to insure my first experience was one to remember. He put my food order in himself and made sure it was out in a timely manner. Continued to check in with me to make sure I was enjoying. Absolutely loved that. Also gifted me with a dessert on the house. Alonzo was my server and he was amazing. He recommended a customers favorite to me and it was absolutely delicious served by him. He was patient attentive friendly and very accommodating. I highly recommend this place
No complaints except our 2 person table was quite small? More for cocktails than a meal but great recs good food lovely music. I haven’t been here in a while but it was great! Thank you Vini!
Mario and his team gave me such a warm welcome. They were all smiles and banter as I walked in the door. When I was indecisive about my meal (because there were so many delicious options), Mario asked me to allow them to cook me for. I agreed to the chef's menu (chef's choice) and I was thrilled. They worked around my food preferences and came up with an incredible meal. The gluten-free pasta was one of the best I've tasted outside of California. Also contributing to the atmosphere was the camaraderie amongst the staff. Sometimes you can go to a restaurant and it's "all business." Here, I witnessed a team of people enjoying what they did, working together to bring a meal to life. The vibe was chill, first class and playful. This was a culinary delight, an experience for all the senses. I went on a Saturday night and they had a DJ spinning. I'll be back!
Sophia's Restaurant in Miami is an absolute gem that delivers a dining experience you won't forget. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a touch of sophistication that makes it perfect for any occasion. We kicked off our evening with the espresso martinis, which were simply divine. The balance of rich espresso and smooth vodka was perfect, making it the ideal start to our meal. Then came the food, and let me tell you, every dish was a home run. The spicy rigatoni had just the right amount of kick, with a sauce that clings to the pasta in all the best ways. The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender with a beautiful char that added depth to every bite. And the tiramisu? A sweet, creamy masterpiece that was the perfect ending to our meal. But what truly made the night special was our server, Saul. He took care of us like no other, offering spot-on recommendations and making sure our glasses were never empty. His enthusiasm and attention to detail elevated the entire experience, making us feel like VIPs from start to finish. Sophia's is a must-visit if you're in Miami. Exceptional food, expertly crafted drinks, and service that goes above and beyond—what more could you ask for?
I had such a lovely experience at Sofia Miami thanks to my server, Maria Juliana. She was incredibly warm, attentive, and professional she made me feel truly cared for throughout the meal. Every detail was perfect, and her friendly energy made the experience even better. The food was exceptional (the Branzino was fresh and flavorful, and the “Love Affair” cocktail was perfection). The service charge was well-deserved because Maria went above and beyond to make everything smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend asking for Maria Juliana when you visit she’s the kind of server who elevates the whole dining experience.
I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Italian with a touch of elegance. Scallops were perfectly cooked - tender and delicate, flavors were incredible, balanced just right, and dish was plated with such care that it felt like a work of art. Truffle Cacio e Pepe for my wife, her favorite classic - earthy and aromatic, incorporates the flavor of truffles, truffle flavor doesn’t overpower the dish but enhances the existing flavors. Great execution, timely delivery, beautiful space.
Everything from the welcome experience to the service to the incredible culinary exceeded our expectations. Had a pasta dish and the Dover special and was so impressed a restaurant nailed both dishes. Our server was amazing
Absolutely phenomenal place to eat! Miami spice menu and plate sizes were perfect. Our server Stefano was super quick and really comfortable to talk to, he passed by the perfect amount times to make sure we were ok. Manager Gary is the most welcoming person. Id definitely come here!! Food and workers 100/100
I had such a great time at Sofia. The ambiance is beautiful and perfect for a fun outing with friends. I went for their brunch menu, which was $35 and included an appetizer, a main course, and dessert. I ordered the bruschetta al pomodoro to start, the spicy rigatoni as my main, and pistachio gelato for dessert. Everything was delicious and well presented. I also had a couple of cocktails and they were really good. Overall, it was a lovely experience and I’d definitely go back.
I really enjoy everything about this restaurant. They make you feel welcome with a nice smile, and they even open the chair for you to seat down. The decor is really nice, very good taste 👌. The food was delicious. We started with the fried seafood, a little spicy, but what a great flavor. For the main course, we had the salmon filet with mushrooms. How tender and delicious it was. Cooked to perfection.
Dining at Sofia in Miami with Omar is not just dinner — it’s a full 360-degree experience. With him, you truly feel the essence of Italianità in every detail. Omar is spontaneous and genuine, yet highly professional and attentive, making you feel welcomed and cared for throughout the entire evening. We had a wonderful night at Sofia and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Italian experience.
This Italian spot is a gem! The location is absolutely stellar, right in the heart of the Design District. The staff is not only knowledgeable and friendly but also impressively fast. The cocktails? Out of this world - and I don’t say that often. The star of the night was the Spicy Regstoni alla Vodka. Hands down, one of the best pastas I’ve ever had -a solid 6/5 stars. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving incredible Italian food with a lively vibe.
Didn’t eat here, but came after work for Toni Thursdays and WOW! Sal is the absolute best server i’ve ever had and genuinely was so amazing that we want to come back every week just to see him! the espresso martinis by Orlando were delicious and I cannot wait to return and try the food next. Thank you Sal for being an absolute gem!
Sophia Italian in the Miami Design District is a truly elegant dining experience. The restaurant combines authentic Italian flavors with a chic, modern atmosphere that perfectly matches its stylish location. The menu is full of beautifully prepared dishes, from pasta to seafood, each presented with great attention to detail. The service is attentive and professional, and the crowd is as sophisticated as the neighborhood itself. It’s the perfect spot for a refined lunch or a glamorous dinner in Miami. Ambiente lindo, musica boa, a comida vem super vem super rápido! Adorei!!
We are so pleased we tried this place. Food and drinks were delicious.! Great atmosphere and the best part was our server Pedro couldn’t have done anything more for us. He was so sweet and accommodating and offered great recommendations and attentive service.
My family and I had the BEST dinner experience at Sofia. Sal was hands down the best waiter that I have ever encountered. From the knowledge he had behind everything on the menu, his honesty and recommendations were SPOT ON. Sal had the perfect balance of making sure we were overly satisfied, while still taking care of his other tables and never making us feel neglected. The humor, the joy and the enthusiasm that Sal showed us, we will never forget. We will be back again and again and can’t wait to share this experience once more. Sal and Gary made this night a very memorable for my family and I. Can’t wait to come back!
Have the most amazing and delicious meal! Service was top quality. Ruta was kind and friendly! The manager Gary gave 5 star service and is so attentive to all the customers needs! Visiting from South Africa and I can without a doubt say this is the best service I’ve received in Miami!
5 stars goes straight to MARVIN!! The establishment was beautiful but the service goes above and beyond he was so set an accommodating he made the experience that much better. We came for happy hour, but stayed for dinner! As a bartender myself in Miami, there’s nothing like that special service and conversation you receive from your bartenders when you go to the bar and a lot of places lack it, but we will definitely be back because of Marvin he was the absolute best! And the pastas are incredible, homemade and delicious shout out to the chefs!!
It is a great little Italian restaurant in the middle of the designer district. Most of the people hang out in the outdoor space rather than the inside. It is a good stop when you get hungry and thirsty from shopping. It is way overpriced, but so is everything else around it 😂 But the quality of the food is impeccable, it has been a while since I got a full gluten pizza with the perfect crust and chew.
Absolutely amazing experience! The food was outstanding — fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The service was just as impressive: warm, attentive, and truly professional. A special thank you to Mr. Gane, who made our visit even better with his exceptional hospitality and attention to detail. Highly recommended — I will definitely be coming back!
Arthur made our experience at Sofia Miami absolutely exceptional. From the moment we sat down he was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. He knew the menu inside out, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything arrived perfectly and on time. What really stood out was his energy and attention to detail, he anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask. Service like that turns a great dinner into a memorable night. If you’re dining at Sofia, ask for Arthur. He elevates the entire experience.
Folks need to come here for totally original Italian cuisine and drinks. All the foods are cutting edge with professional servers but yet pretty busy. The environment is totally awesome and cool. Meant for the upper class with big money but respectful. Come on down!!!!
A closer look at their Miami Spice menu for $45/per person. I personally thought it was a great selection and the price was right. Even thought a bit hot outside we were right by a fan and the vibes were just great. I really loved the tuna to start and the spicy rigatoni! Plus, it's always fun to eat in the Miami Design District and get to roam around the area too it's so beautiful.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of the Design District, Sofia is a charming and elegant restaurant where we stopped for some cocktails before dinner. The ambiance is serene and beautifully curated, with music that perfectly complements the relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. Surrounded by soft pink hues and impeccable service, it's a delightful place to unwind and enjoy. The drinks we ordered were delicious — expertly crafted, well-balanced in flavor, and presented with stunning attention to detail. I highly recommend this lovely spot.
Food was good, but not excellent. The same with the service, it was good but not excellent. It felt just a little bit like a touristy place, for example, when presenting the daily menu, the waiter said: “We have a Sole today, it’s the best fish you can eat”. Of course we know what a Sole is, but probably many clients here don’t know. Nice ambiance outside, however they wanted to give us a very bad table directly next to a huge (and loud) fan at first. Recommended if you are looking for a quick bite for lunch while shopping in the area, but I probably wouldn’t go here in the evening.
Good atmosphere with a pink decor that worked for my 15 year old daughter. The food was just good, with the exception of the Polpo which was amazing. Service, however, was terrible. Gane was very pushy bringing dessert menus and setting the table for dessert after we had clearly declined his offer. And tried to push three espressi whe told him and corrected him that it was only one being ordered. He even gave a dissatisfied look when I didn't tip him in addition to the forced 20% service charge. I understand how including a service charge for our "convenience" may be good for decent wait staff, but it can also hurt the businesses when waiters care more about jacking up your bill instead of offering quality service because their 20% is guaranteed. This screams "turist trap"

Food is okay, service needs major help. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. We waited 35 minutes before our waiter made it to our table to take our drinks order. The ambiance is very nice, we loved it, it was actually our favorite part. There was a dj playing music which we thought was a nice touch. To find our waiter again to order our apps and meal was another mission. The waiter seemed overwhelmed and rushed. The appetizers arrived quickly and were actually better than the entrees. The pesto pasta was underwhelming and the spicy rigatoni had way too much tomato sauce. It does have a nice spice factor which I loved. We asked for the dessert menu but honestly nothing really caught our eye so we skipped dessert. Honestly I would come back for a drink at the bar but I think there are better Italian restaurants if you’re looking for good food.
We went to Sofia in Miami’s Design District yesterday to celebrate Mother’s Day with friends from Sarasota, FL, who were getting off a cruise. It was the perfect chance to reconnect and celebrate. We spent a lot of time choosing a place that met everyone’s dietary needs, had a good vibe, unique drinks, and a track record of good experiences. Since we had been to Sofia less than a year ago and enjoyed it, it felt like the right choice. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server approached almost immediately asking if we were ready to order drinks and food. It felt rushed, as if they were focused on flipping the table. Still, we understood—it was a busy holiday. I was the only one who ordered bottomless and was surprised how much I liked the Sofia Spritz. We ordered our food and appetizers shortly after. Everything was going well—we were enjoying the drinks, the food, and most importantly, the company. However, I did have to flag the server down for each spritz refill. After a couple refills, she came over abruptly to say, “Your 90 minutes are up—no more refills.” That surprised us. One person in our group showed her time-stamped photos proving we were outside 90 minutes ago. She pulled out her electronic device and defensively showed when drinks were ordered. Then returned with a second device to double down. We never requested a manager, but one came over. She initially sided with the server and told me it was my responsibility to flag the server down. That felt off—we go out to be served, not chase servers. She did apologize and comped a round of drinks, which we appreciated, but the vibe had already changed. A better approach: “Your 90-minute limit is almost up—would you like a final refill?” Also, no free iced tea refills—they're $5 each. We won’t return on a busy day to avoid feeling rushed again and underserved. On a positive note, the food and drinks were on par and enjoyed by all.
The place is nice. Food so so. I ordered chicken and it had no taste. Waiters are running from table to table and are a bit too pushy. They fooled us by telling us the day’s specials and it ended up costing $100 for a fish that didn’t include a side dish. The most expensive plate I ever had in the US, and the taste was just meh, so do not order anything they don’t tell you the price.
