You always hear, don't judge a book by it's cover.... well the same goes for this place. It's small and nothing fancy. But what the lack in appearance, they more than make up with the staff and food. Super friendly staff makes you feel welcomed. And the California Steak Burrito was the best burrito I've had a a very long time!
Delicious food. Black bean soup was the best we ever had. And the extra Serrano peppers were a hit (they didn't make my husband cry). Burritos were wonderful. And the green sauce was exceptionally tasty. We always come here when we are in Milford, and they never disappoint.
Everything was delicious the best quacamole I have ever had!!! We are so happy we stopped in today on our trip from NH to Poconis. We will be back soon!
Food is DELICIOUS and authentic! It does have a very small dining area, more of a takeout. Never had a bad meal there! Highly recommended
Best Mexican food and I can tell it is all freshly made. I ordered the Chimpachanges and it so tasty. I had both the chicken and beef. Love the yellow rice and beans. If you are not a big eater you should share this because it is quite a big plate at a very reasonable price. The only downside is no water served. Bring your own water. Get the chips to share. And if you ask for non spicy they will made it that way.
I ordered 2 meals. I was advised it would take a "few minutes". I went outside and sat at the table. In what seemed to be 5 minutes, at the most, the man brought out my food. I took it home to find it was Hot, well cooked and very flavorful. While ordering I noticed they had Flan. I ordered a slice to go. After trying it I am sorry I did not order at least 2. All in all I had a great experience and the food was reasonably priced to boot. Highly recommend!
You haven't had real Mexican food until you've eaten at Tequila Sunrise. I eat lunch here at least twice a week because it is that good. I've come to know the owner, Jacob, pretty well now and he's very friendly and open with his storied past. Walking into the place for the first time, you will likely have a lot of thoughts like I did. But, as they say, don't judge a book by its cover. Dining in, you'll feel like you've all of sudden ended up in Mexico with the decor and music. Bottom line is, if you haven't been here, you really need to get here! You won't be disappointed at all!
Tequila Sunrise is fabulous! It is a cozy authentic environment that only adds to its charm and Mexican flavor. Portions are plentiful so bring your appetite. The guacamole appetizer with salsa and fresh chips was the first clue the food was going to be good. I had the chicken chimichanga dish and it was so delicious and full of flavor. A great stop when in Milford Pennsylvania. A pleasant surprise.
In short, AMAZING food at a small place. It is definitely worth a stop! This may be some of the best Mexican styled food I have ever had. The seasonings are not spicy and were very flavorful! For example, I usually am not a huge fan of refried beans but theirs were flavorful beyond just the bean taste. I will echo what others have said, this is probably the best guacamole I have ever had. My only critique is there is no kid meal portions, so my two kids split 3 tacos and loved it. For parents with picky kids, there are peppers mixed into the beef tacos. Whether you are a traveler or a local, this place is a must try!
Slow down or you might miss it! This little place is a must-go! The owner/chef was super friendly, came out to greet us when we walked in, took our order personally. The food was great. Maybe the best guac I've ever had.... Warm tortillas with just the right amount of salt. Unable to really decide what to get, I got a "Mexico City" combo platter - very happy with that. If you are in the area and like Mexican food, heck if you like ANY food, do yourself a favor and try this place.
Amazingly friendly super helpful employees!! Offered us various sauces to try out which were all great in flavor. Food portions are beyond generous and extremely authentic. You will not regret eating here and in fact you'll probably have leftovers to enjoy it all again. 5 stars for sure!
Love this place! Just like family! The food is delicious. Jacob and Marta work very hard to make dishes just the way you like them! Must try guacamole, tortilla soup, Flautitas, Burritos California, Chimicangas, and Chilli Relleno. Truly delicious, fresh, and everything is made with love. BYO wine and/or beer too!
Randomly picked up the place while returning back from Dingman Falls, this is a very small place located in Milford PA, and there's a good chance that you'll miss out on it while driving as it's not easily visible from the road either! The restaurant has a homely decor and it gives you a vibe of sitting in some Mexican home and having a meal. The staff was friendly also to mention their kitchen looked clean enough to me! We ordered Chicken nachos where they served it with shredded chicken and it tasted really good but the only downside was their cheese which had a little bit of extra salt in it. We ordered a vegetarian combo platter which had enchiladas, toastada, burrito along with rice and beans. The rice and beans combo was really delicious also the toastada was good, they had a good amount of chopped avocado, green peppers and cucumber added to it, burrito too was good but the enchiladas had a similar downside to the nachos due to the cheese. Overall it was a great experience and I think this place makes a great stop while traveling from this town!
Thought the food was going to be much better than it was. The chicken was dry and not well seasoned. The biggest problem was that they were a lot of onions and everything and my wife does not like onions so she basically didn’t eat anything. I was trying to pick up stuff, but then it ruined the burritos and the enchiladas asked not to put toppings on her food and all her food came with toppings on top of it guacamole and that stuff also that she doesn’t like so we had to sit there and scrape everything off as as we could portions were fairly reasonable rice and beans that accompanying it were good, but the main courses were not that tasteful and just not up to pie that we’ve had other Mexican restaurants. We also got a chimichanga which looked like it was done very well, but unfortunately, it was placed on top of the wet beans so by the time we got to it a half hour later, it was soaked through the bottom of it. It was all mushy, which is the opposite of what you want chimichanga to be. I know it seems like I’m heaping on the restaurant because everyone else gave it five stars but we really did not enjoy anything we got except the black bean soup so after spending over $100 for the two of us, it really was very disappointing. The restaurant does seem very nice very quaint very well decorated inside. The gentleman that was outside was very nice to me. I had a nice talk with them, but unfortunately, the bottom line is the food when it’s mainly a takeout
