Very good food, well worth the price. Beware the lucky ducky cocktail. It is much larger than it looks on the menu, lol. I was expecting it to be the size of an old fashioned. What I got was a tub large enough to build a banana split in. Perfect size for sharing, but I was solo so it was the only drink I needed.

Came for lunch and got the lunch special michael G was very good at explaining the menu . We never once had to ask for anything or "hunt " him down he was on top of things. Food was great and timely matter.

Our servers were great! The service was good as well. I would definitely come back for family gathering or just to hang out!

Mandy our waitress was awesome!! She checked on us multiple times and filled our drinks, she answered all our questions about the menu items! The atmosphere was cool and relaxing. We ordered the deep dish pizza and it was superb ! We came in for early dinner time and we were able to get a seat quickly. Their weekly special are great deals too!! But the best part was Mandy, because with a great waitress the experience is 💯 % positive vibes!!

Definitely underrated for me personally, I typically choose other options due to pricing. During this time of crazy inflation BJs seems to have maintained a great standard of quality while essentially being the same price as other lower quality options that have raised their prices! BJs has great beer and a ton of different food options from pasta and pizza to burgers, steaks, and unique dishes! Happy hour also helps take that hit off your wallet because they have half off appetizers and discounted beer prices 😀 🍻

Mom had the BBQ veggie burger with sweet potato fries, and I also enjoyed the mini deep dish tomato & cheese pizza with a side salad, plus avocado egg rolls to start. We had a slight hiccup during our visit, but Michael G. and Rosario went above and beyond to take great care of us. The food was fantastic — Thanks to their attentive service, our meal turned out wonderful!

Went to BJ’s the other night and had a great time. The food hit the spot (the deep dish pizza was super good) and the Pizookie is always a must — can’t leave without it. Our server was nice and kept checking in, even though it was busy. Drinks were solid too. Overall, it’s just a chill spot to eat good food and hang out with friends.

Michael was a fantastic server. Very attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed. Also loved the complimentary snacks for kids.

I just celebrated my birthday here at BJ’s and got a birthday pizookie which was delicious by the way. Our server Lily took great care of us and answered all our questions and gave really good suggestions. Overall 10/10 experience and I will definitely be back and request Lily as my server.

This was the first time I had been to BJ's restaurant, and what a great experience! The food and drink were absolutely delicious. The absolute best part of the experience was having Sebastian as our server and Clarissa as his trainer. He was such a friendly and kind man and Clarissa was helpful and respectful to him, as well as friendly to us. WOW, came here for the first time with my kids and was totally impressed. The food was so delicious and cooked perfectly. I’ve passed by many BJS and never went and now I wish I would’ve. I had the shrimp scampi pasta and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be returning here the next time I see one in my travels. I highly recommend this place. Good food, sometimes they get a little busy and you might be waiting a bit on those dinner rushes. Going on special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries will snag you a free pizookie (cookie pizza) or if you sign up for their app you can receive a free pizookie that way as well.

Well I ordered the ribeye which was a mistake. I asked for medium rare what came was medium well done. Sent it back, The second time around was just as bad. I'll be sure to stay the course and order a hamburger next time.

Fresh ingredients. A Must try . Great customer service. Elliott is an exemplary employee. He is one of the reasons we will be going back. Went to celebrate a birthday. Had a blast. Thanks again for the outstanding customer service.

After a long day of Christmas shopping a few days ago, I stopped in to BJ's for a late lunch (around 2 p.m.). I was by myself, so I chose a spot in the bar area. I was only seated for a few moments when my waiter took my order. No water was offered, so I ordered a strawberry lemonade to quench my thirst. This was delicious. My only complaint was that I didn't get free refills of this yumminess. For my entree, I chose the Cherry Chipotle Salmon. Soup or salad was not offered, nor were there any other starters (bread, chips, etc.) offered or provided. When my salmon arrived, it smelled amazing!! The taste was even better than the aroma. The asparagus still had a slight snap, but a slight char to the tops, which was delicious! The quinoa was a perfect accompaniment to round out the dish. I would definitely order that dish again.

We experienced great service! Friendly hostess, seated quickly, and our server (Lori) was great! Lori got our orders in quickly, noticed when we wanted refills and was quick taking care of the check. The food was a good 4/5. Our table ordered a cheese burger and sweet potato fries, spaghetti and meatballs, grilled chicken fettuccine alfredo, and pizza. Everything tasted good - it just wasn’t ‘wow’.

Our service was horrible, our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there. It took us over 10 mins to get our drinks, then our appetizer came out the same time as our meal. The manager came by and comped that. However it got worse, we asked three times for ranch. By the time we got it we had finished our meal. So disappointing. But the food was great! My son's burger was yummy, my other son ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. I had the salad n soup combo. Yummy clam chowder. My salad was less than good, reported the lettuce to the manager.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse is a guys experience. The weekend are chaotic as they are typically a bit too crowded. Getting seated can take up to an hour on the weekends. The local beers are good (particularly Jeremiah Red). Our did was good and hot, but it took longer than normal to come out. The service was just okay as we sat quite a while with empty glasses. This was not our typical BJ's experience. The food made up the difference, but i think they can do better with the crowds. I recommend BJ's, but not on Friday and Saturday evenings. I'll be back on a different day and time.

Friendly servers with good attitudes that are very helpful with menu options. The food was decent for the price, some items are a little pricey. The lunch specials are a great value! Loved the chips with salsa and guacamole. Also enjoyed the Couscous Mac and cheese. The tri tip sliders were a bit dry, liked the BBQ sauce though. It was nice to have the choice of pan seared or fried pot stickers. The hostesses seem a little frazzled most nights even when it is not busy. Overall I'd recommend dining here!

First let me say that our Server was very good and attentive, this is not about her. We arrived at 5pm and waited for about 5 minutes for the parties ahead of us to be seated. Then the hostesses (3 of them) did not acknowledge our presence for another 4 or 5 minutes because they were busy chatting about non-work related topics. We were within 2-3 feet of them and could hear the conversation as we were waiting. If you have clients waiting one should at least acknowledge that they are standing there. One of them finally asked if we had been helped, obviously not as we were still standing there. She then grabbed 2 menus and proceeded to chat with one of the other girls until FINALLY, after another couple of minutes, she told us to follow her. It then took about 8 minutes for anyone to come to our table. If we were not so hungry and tired I would have left. The staff were all busy chatting about life and what not, and it seemed like they were not caring much about the patrons . It looks bad as a customer to see this behavior and to be blatantly ignored for an extended period of time. If the hostesses were busy a simple "I'll be with you in a moment" or to acknowledge the customers presence would be easy and would make the customer feel at least like they are appreciated. We have dined at this location many times and this was by far the worst experience. I do need to say once again that our server, Sophia, was very good and I have no complaints about her at all. If it had not been for her great service I would seriously have gotten up and left.

It was really expensive for honestly bland food. Also the service wasn't great? It's a brewhouse first and foremost, so everything but the atmosphere and alcohol related dishes and products were below par compared to other restaurants. For four people to eat with no alcohol it cost ~$100, ($25/person).

Our server Jackie “took care of us.” We waited 5 ever to be greeted that we knew our drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert order by the time Jackie got there so we ordered everything in one go. We got our chips and guacamole, and finished it before our drinks arrived to the table! We were thirsty after our appetizer so as soon as our drinks arrived be basically chugged them. Biggest mistake because we never were approached again to ask for a refill. Our food came out, still no Jackie, still no drink and I wanted bbq for my fries and wings but like I said still no Jackie. Then we finished eating. Jackie finally approached us to ask how everything was and we just asked for boxes and our check because at that point we’re ready to go. Never had I ever had an experience like that…

We've always considered BJ'S as consistant; service, food, ambiance. Last night proved us wrong. Our waiter was not on the ball, the food was, for the most part, overcooked and hardly eatable.. Hubbies hamburger was overcooked and dry, the fries were cremated, sandwich: the bread was dried out and hard (it was remade) the tri tip was cremated and looked like charcoal, again fries were terrible. The pizza was outstanding but it took 1 1/2 hours to get our food. Very disappointing 😞

It took an hour and a half only to get over cooked Brisket Fries Burgers!! There were 8 of us and only the soup was eatable! Service was awful also!! Burned food over cooked even a chicken Sandwich was dried bread! Overall. Terrible experience! My once or twice visit will end now!!

Food was very good waitress was exceptional. They seem to be a little unorganized and understaffed cleanliness is very poor. My wife tried using the pepper shaker, and the top was so dirty that the holes were clogged. No pepper would come out. I went to the bathroom I could not believe the slime on the floor in the corners place needs to be really cleaned.

We got there when they opened. We had a party of over 6 people so gratuity was added automatically. I felt like because of that our server didn't care. She never really came to check on us. The food we got was barely hot. As the first customers in the restaurant, I would imagine our food would be hot. We had to return things to the kitchen to just be microwaved. We had to wait a pretty long time for food. No refills on drinks. We didn't know the gratuity was added until we paid and it was just an overall really bad experience. Cold food, no one checked on us, no refills on drinks and just wasn't great food. I'm only giving 2 star because it seemed clean. Would not recommend going here.

Its bad. Don’t go. They exploit their workers. And food is overpriced mediocre. Workers don’t have set work time, and managers will make waiters stop working if it ‘gets too slow’. Even though we weren’t done eating our food and hadn’t even ordered desert, the manager told our waiter she needed to leave, even though almost every table was taken during a playoff game. She had only been worked 4 hours. She had to take our desert order early to the tips applied to her. A mother of two shouldn’t have to work in such conditions. The two stars are for her, not bj’s, cuz she was really nice and apologetic about the awkward situation ( a mother who has to work TWO OTHER JOBS just to service. I’ll never eat here again.

I dined at BJ’s on Tuesday Jan 20, 2026 for supper for the first and most probably only time. What should have been a simple meal of a ribeye dinner with mashed potatoes and asparagus was ruined by the over salting of all the fixings except the mashed potatoes. I dined in a party of 6 and 2 other individuals also complained about the excessive amount of salt on their food. It is my opinion that salt can be added by the diner according to their taste, not by the heavy hand of a cook One member in our group is a vegan and was satisfied with his meal. One child in our group wanted to take his hearty spaghetti dish home which he did, so some members in our group were satisfied.

Dinner tasted great. Especially the sugar cookie pizookie. However, that was the only positive of dinner tonight. The service was abysmal. We waited two and half hours for everything. This is all extra frustrating as we had plans with family we haven't seen in a long time and we ended up having to cancel because we got out so late. It was also a bit pricey considering portions, and the bathrooms were disgusting. They weren't looked at once during the time we were there.

Currently leaving this restaurant very VERY unhappy. Came with my 7 year old as she wanted a pizookie for her birthday dinner. Everything was fine. Up until our waiter disappeared on us. We walked into that restaurant at 9:40pm only to be served our food at 10:55pm! Yes I was keeping track! Upon my seven year old, me, and my partner finishing our salad, we waited an additional 25-30 minutes just to place our order. The manager preceded to tell us our waiter was super busy and had a pizookie order that was super big and took his attention. Little did he know I watched my waiter walk out the kitchen doors, survey the floor, and then walk back in. He didn't come back out for another 15 minutes. And when he did, he was empty handed. If it was so busy why did I watch 3 families twice the size of mine walk in after us, and leave the restaurant before us. As we were leaving he preceded to tell us if we are in such a hurry we should just scan the table and go. And I don't wanna sit here and assume things but I have a feeling I was served the end of the day food. Im hoping it's not because I complained because that would really suck. My sandwich roll is burnt to a crisp, the corn with my fried chicken was horrid. My pizookies are somehow burnt on the edges and undercooked in the center? I don't know what leaving this review will do, I just know i was very unhappy with the service I received tonight. And yes. I still tipped my server. More than I wanted to I might add. My bill was 20$ and I tipped him 10. Not too happy about that.

I stopped by BJ’s at Vintage Faire Mall in Modesto for fish and chips. At $22, the undercooked batter was pasty, the fish fell apart and tasted bland, and the fries weren’t crispy or fresh. The plate looked sloppy, and the most of the football games on the TVs were difficult to see. I told the server I was dehydrated and needed water; he refilled my water one time and then I had to chase him down.

I will never be coming back. I would first like to clarify that I have never once written a bad review on any site ever, no matter my displeasure regarding the quality of food or service at a restaurant—I hope that fact provides some weight to this message. The food was just awful. My party and I ordered around 10:10ish and were meet with our meals around 10:30–my burger and fries were nowhere near fresh and prepared so sloppily. My friend’s fettuccine alfredo was similar in that the temperature was maybe lukewarm and just flat-out unappetising. And on top of this, we never received our side order of fries but were charged for it anyways (this fact is predominantly my fault as I should have checked the receipt before paying online) While the food was miserable, I will say our waiter was the only glimmer of hope in this review—a very genuine guy and tended to our needs well. The food on the other hand, terrible. Not a good experience whatsoever, especially when I have grown up coming to this restaurant. This place has gone seriously downhill.

Wait period was not bad got there at 6pm on Sunday. Got seated in about 10min. But I did get disregarded by the person that shows you to the table, and felt a bit stupid standing there while she pretended I wasn't there. After calling my name about 4 times I had to wave... hey right here... was only a few steps away and it wasn't that full of people. I let that go once we got seated. The waitress was training and that was fine but our food wasn't cooked right and then we notice that the cups were really dirty not to mention that the forks had food stuck on... I don't recommend this place. Not a date kind of place unless you don't mind eating off of dirty silverware, plates and cups. i walked into the takeout area where 2 ladies were standing there chatting. they looked at me and still continued their conversation. after the other girl looks again she finally asked me if i needed help, duh. she said she will go get someone to take my order and both girls left! okay. so then a different girl walks up to take my order. i asked if the happy hour applies to takeout she said no, so i asked if i can just order at the bar area for the appetizers. she said yes so i made my way to the bar area. once im there, there’s a girl cleaning up plates, no acknowledgment. i sat there for about another 5 minutes or less, then i decide to just leave. once i stood up n pushed my chair in, a guy with. curly hair approached me and said if anything was wrong and if i was okay. i just said yes and let walking, he asked if there was anything he can help me with as i was still leaving. Anyways to sum up my experience here, it was the first time i felt like a ghost 🙄 and i don’t like leaving reviews at all but it wasn’t even busy enough for me to get ignored like that frr. i really wanna have a better experience if i go next time

Starting off by saying I really enjoy going to Bj's my husband and I visit about once a week to enjoy the beer club perks but today at our visit very disappointing. Our server Jacqueline seem to be in a big rush. We ordered a few beer that took about 10 mins to receive them and then we order a appetizer and dinner. We receive our dinner and appetizer at the same time and our soup and salad came out about 15-20 after our dinner came out.. and in the middle of eating out dinner the server asked us if we were ready for our pizookie and not 1 time did she ask us if everything was OK or if we would like anything or another beer.. Very disappointing with service tonight..

Being handed a broken glass cup is unacceptable. It’s a safety hazard, and there was no follow-up from staff. I hope they take more care in the future.

Two years ago I gave em a 5 star review but my last visit is, well my last visit. This place has lost all respect for providing a good meal and dine in experience. They actually served me this plate fingerprints and all sloped on. Does this look appetizing to you? Update: 3 months now and corporate falsely claims to have reached out but no attempt was made to right this horrible restaurant experience. I'll never go back and will avoid all of the other locations! Disgusting Experience and super disappointed! Update! Two years now, not once has BJs even made one effort to reach out or make right! NOT ONCE! SO DISAPPOINTED! GROSS NEGLIGENCE.

Our waitress she had a hard time understanding what goes on what and took 20 minutes to get our dessert my family Uselly don't have a issues with bjs when it comes to paying but it took 4 different people to get it right me and my friends all left with headaches we left upset after we told her we want 3 separate bills 2 of us on bill the 2 others on one bill and the other girl by herself

HORRIBLE service, food came out 45 minutes late and cold. Not to mention our waitress Alyssa got our food wrong more than once. Had to wait extra 30 minutes for her to bring out the food for the third time and it was still wrong! The manager was little to no help. I get it’s busy but where is the organization and communication. We aren’t eating for free , so it’s disappointing having to pay for horrible service. Also how does a restaurant run out of napkins. Seems like they need to organize / hire better.

Waiting 1hr 1/2, I was told 45 to 1 hr wait. Waited went in at 1 hr mark told I have 4 people head of me, so I waited 30 minutes went back in told I have 6 ahead of me, I told them 30 minutes ago there was 4. No explanation, The girls who check you in need a new job, no people skills acted like we were bothering them. Never ate couldn't wait any longer. Will never come here again or recommend them to anybody. Poor experience and poor interaction with this staff. Wasted almost 2 hrs waiting.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse – Modesto, where time stands still and service goes to die. Let me set the scene: a simple dinner outing that turned into a two and a half hour hostage situation. My “three-course meal” began with drinks that were so neglected I started to wonder if they were part of an archaeological exhibit. Refills? Not in this lifetime. Three out of the 10 people sitting at my table received their food a solid thirty minutes after everyone else’s, which meant my friends were wiping their mouths and ready for dessert while I was just getting my plate. One of our pizzas that was already 30 mins late decided to join the fun— only cold — so back it went on the slow train to the kitchen. Making it a solid hour after our first meal arrived. We called over the manager, who said, “I’ll check on this,” and then performed the most flawless disappearing act since Houdini. Never saw her again. No apology, no follow-up, no trace she ever existed. Our server took the same disappearing route. They ghosted us harder than a bad Tinder date. Thankfully, a second, completely unrelated server swooped in and saved us from dehydration and despair 2:15mins into our meal— bless that person’s soul. So, if you’re looking for a place with the speed of a DMV line, the warmth of a tax audit, and management as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle, look no further. BJ’s in Modesto has mastered the art of making you question your life choices — one cold pizza at a time. Neither the waiter nor the manager offered us anything — not a discount, not a dessert, not even a sorry-for-your-two-and-a-half-hour-wait — to make up for the cold food, the lack of service, or the general trainwreck of an experience. But don’t worry, they didn’t forget to automatically tack on that 18% gratuity for our table like clockwork. Moral of the story: If you’ve got two and a half hours to burn, a thirst for disappointment, and the patience of a monk — BJ’s Modesto is the dining experience you never knew you didn’t need.

My recent experience at BJ's Restaurant & Brewery in Modesto left me feeling quite disappointed. While there were a few positive aspects, overall, I left the establishment with a sense of dissatisfaction. Initially, I was pleased to find that the restaurant wasn't crowded, and there were plenty of open tables available. The cleanliness of the place was also commendable, which added to my initial optimism. I must mention that one of the servers went out of their way to provide my young son with a Garlic Knot Bread without even being asked, which was a thoughtful gesture. However, the positive impression quickly deteriorated as our food arrived. Unfortunately, our server seemed to disappear after serving our meals. They never returned to our table to check if we needed refills or if we wanted to order additional items (which we wanted to do). This lack of attention made us feel neglected and prevented us from fully enjoying our meal. To make matters worse, the raw tuna in my Ahi Tuna Salad fell short in terms of quality. It lacked freshness both in smell and taste, which was quite disappointing. Although I intended to request a replacement, the absence of our server made it impossible to address the issue. As a result, I could only eat the greens, which unfortunately still led to feeling unwell afterward. Furthermore, when I approached another server to request our check, I was directed to ask our own server. However, I explained that our server had never returned to our table. Eventually, our original server reappeared but only to drop the receipt on our table without uttering a single word. Despite the subpar service, I chose to pay using their mobile app and left a tip for the server, although I must admit, it was done with some reluctance. While I believe in acknowledging efforts, I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the overall experience.

Went here on March 4th for a family members birthday and his food was served to a different table while we all got our plate. It took over 20 minutes for him to get his food. We all waited to eat until he got his food, so we all had cold food while he finally gets to eat. They wanted to give him a free $5 dessert, but he said no thank you....in the end all the could do was still offer the dessert... Didn't offer the meal free or at least a discount. Might sound petty, but it threw off the entire vibe at our first time there. I do not recommend THIS restaurant.

First time ever going and I don’t think I’ll be back. The service was very slow. We ordered an appetizer and 2 drinks first. It took them 20 minutes to get our app out but our drinks took longer which were only 2 sodas. Then it took our server another 20 minutes to get our food order. Our food took super long to get out and was kind of cold. They also forgot some stuff that was supposed to go with our main meal. We barely saw our server. He did apologize, we understood they were busy and he said he had other obligations, But there were 7 servers and we only saw ours 3 times. We paid almost $100 for honestly crap service, slow food, and somewhat cold food.

I'm so sorry to be writing this review. I can not say but one good thing about our night. I enjoyed the beer that was poured for me. Our entire party had endured one problem after another. I don't want to blame just our server as she was just one person. The service her was almost comical. There are like 5 table bussers walking around with empty bus tubs and NOT ONE is picking up plates off tables. Then when we made a nice neat pile of plates (3 total) a server walked by and asked to take them and we said yes please. She took 2 plates. Our water glasses were filled ....when they were delivered and never again. Literally had a problem with every single items we ordered. Appetizer and drinks were ordered and then she came back to take our dinner orders....guess when the drinks and appetizer was delivered? When the dinner dishes were brought to the table. Asked for ketchup and mustard to be brought. Didn't receive it so we asked our server and she took another ten minutes. Desserts (pazookies) were burnt on top after waiting 40 freakin minutes to have them delivered. We paid extra for a full size pazookie and she brought us a small one and claimed, oh I'm sorry I think somebody else took yours....I'll go make you another one....should only be 4 minutes. Yeah right. 25 minutes later it came out. We wanted to leave multiple times but had already paid our bill on the table side QR code. My brother decided he was going to take care of the bill and has too big of a heart to leave no tip and left them more then they deserved. We just wanted to take out Gran for her birthday and it was difficult to enjoy ourselves with the lack of service in this place. Since we wanted to enjoy ourselves we turned the evening into a game guessing how many different bussers would come right by our table without taking the piles of plates at the end of our table. By the end of our evening we just stopped expecting to have any interaction from staff because it clearly isn't their job to take care of paying patrons. Maybe put a QR code at the table to put in a request for things needed at the table. Easy to say this will be our last time ever coming here. Some girls out front were saying we have a 2 hour wait for our table....we all told them go somewhere else this place is a joke.

Service started off slow, and our food took a long time to come out. Our waiter was upfront and apologized, even mentioning the restaurant’s recent low reviews, which we appreciated. Because of that honesty and because we did enjoy the meal once it arrived, my wife actually left a 5-star review before we left. Unfortunately, toward the end of the meal, our waiter didn’t return to the table for about 20 minutes. We realized the pizookie had been forgotten. When it finally came out, we asked for it to go, but it took so long that we ended up leaving without it. The restaurant wasn’t busy at the time. I work in the same industry, so I truly understand how things can happen and I always try to give grace. Still, this was an unfortunate experience overall.

Where do I even start? Service was slow, we had to ask for things multiple times, and some of my family members food was served cold. It was pasta of all things, which it’s dangerous if served in the “danger zone” temperature. The cherry on top was being promised free pizookies and getting charged for them. One pizookie was free because it was my daughter’s birthday and the second one was free because one of my family members had a free coupon through their app. Since we paid with our phones, we got charged for the two supposedly free pizookies. The waitress let us know she was supposed to run it through and offered us free pizookies for next time. We said no, so she went to go speak to a manager. She came back (we waited a while for this might add), and only ended up offering us a 20% off card to use between January and February of this coming year. Greatly disappointed because I just wanted a refund. A coupon just makes me end up spending even more for something that was supposed to be free. Overall slow service and false advertising. Be sure to check your bill to make sure you didn’t get charged for “free” items.
