Avis sur Plumes Monterey
We had an amazing time, our server, Jose was quick to listen and very helpful, his recommendation, the Chicken Parm was fantastic, and there was so.much food too. We also enjoyed a dessert , a huge slice of the Blueberry-Lemon cake, so good!! We highly recommend this incredible restaurant.
I gave 5 stars on food and service. I had it delivered to my hotel. OMG!!! It was off the hook good!! I ordered the club. Best and freshest club sandwich I have ever had. The Chinese Chicken Salad was fresh and the dressing was spot in. Then I opened the Key Lime Pie......WOW. I have only had Key Lime Pie this good in Florida. I highly recommend Rosine's. Because I had it delivered, I can't speak for the Atmosphere. But with food this great, who cares. Awesome job you guys!!
We had a great experience at Rosine’s Restaurant! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was good. Our server, Lauren, was amazing and made us feel welcomed. We actually came here after another restaurant turned us away despite advertising that they allowed dogs. Rosine’s went above and beyond! They set up a table for us outside with a heater, even though no other customers were sitting outside at the time. That level of hospitality really meant a lot to us. Amazing service, great food, and truly dog-friendly. We’ll definitely be back!
We are from Michigan, came here to eat dinner while down here on vacation. It was so good we came again (two nights in a row) guac dip, side salads, minestrone soup, angel hair pasta all fabulous. Lauren our waitress was also super sweet! Every plate coming out of the kitchen looks delicious! Raspberry Lemon drop martini 10/10. Wish I could take this place back to Michigan with us.
Really good food, and excellent service. We came with our toddler and they were very helpful with accommodating him and getting his food out quickly to stem his hanger. The food was so very good, and the fries had a great texture as well. I got the blackened blue cheese steak. The cakes are delicious but be warned, you can feed a Mediterranean city-state off one slice of rocky road cake. The service was across-the-board excellent. Would love to come back the next time we're in Monterey.
Everything about this place was great. We were lucky enough to be there during a week day so it wasn't packed. Their lasagna was one of the best I've ever had (and we've been to Italy, Spain, and Portugal) my wife had the turkey dip and added her potato salad to the sandwich and loved it. Had the cookie dough cheesecake for dessert and was AMAZING! couldn't finish it all the leice was gigantic... would 100% go back.
The service was good and the staff was friendly. We liked all the food. I just thought that the chicken parmesan was interesting because the pasta had white sauce but there was also red sauce on the side. We wanted to try a dessert but were too full to even try. We went in the afternoon and it was pretty fresh there so maybe take a sweater if you get cold easily. We recommend checking it out if you are in the area.
We specifically went there to try the lasagna. It was wonderful! The presentation was great! It comes covered in a wonderful meat sauce with Parmesan on top. Generous amounts of Parmesan! We were lucky to get past the cakes and pies that are in the case when you walk in. We decided to start with dessert and went with the lemon cake, then had dinner! We were so glad we did because we might’ve been too full for dessert after the lasagna (Which had more layers than I’ve ever seen!) I suggest making a reservation, especially Thursday through Sunday.
Breakfast Bliss at Rosine’s in Monterey Rosine’s delivered exactly what we needed—a hearty, flavorful breakfast in a warm and welcoming setting. The place is clean and fresh and bright with a lively, comfortable vibe that makes you want to settle in and savor the morning. I went with the Eggs Benedict and added spinach—great decision. The eggs were perfectly runny, and the hollandaise was smooth and buttery without being too heavy. The Avocado Toast was bright, fresh, and satisfying with a nice citrus punch that cut through the richness. Another standout was the Biscuits with Sausage Gravy, served alongside eggs. The biscuits were soft and flaky, and the gravy was just the right amount of peppery and creamy—comfort food at its best. We also shared the Waffles topped with bananas and strawberries, which were golden and crisp on the outside, soft inside, and loaded with fresh fruit. The service was upbeat and genuine, and our coffee cups were always full. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. Before we left, we couldn’t help but stare at the dessert display—massive cakes and pastries that looked like they belonged in a bakery window in Europe. We’re already planning our return trip just to try one (or three) of them. Rosine’s knows how to do breakfast right. Friendly faces, great food, and a menu that makes it hard to choose. Five stars all the way.
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a while! From start to finish, the experience was amazing. Our reservation was honored, and my husband and I were seated immediately. The food arrived hot and in a timely manner, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The staff, especially our waitress, was kind and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. We loved it so much that we came back for breakfast the next morning and had the same great experience. This place truly delivers on quality, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
My daughter and I went to Rosine's Restaurant on Saturday around 2:30 pm, so after the busy lunch crowd. Our server provided excellent service. We had a few special requests and she did an excellent job honoring them. The food was delicious. We ordered the calamari and chips as a starter. They were cooked perfectly. For our entree we ordered stuffed salmon with a mini wedge salad. The salad was very good. It appeared to literally be a miniature sized regular wedge (iceberg lettuce, tomato, egg, blue cheese crumbles, and bacon) salad. We loved it. The salmon was cooked to perfection; however, I'm not sure I was a fan of the pesto and goat cheese stuffed in the salmon, but my daughter liked it, although my daughter felt the salmon should've been seasoned. The rice was moist and the carrots were cooked superbly. The only negative with the meal was the broccoli; it was overcooked, too soft and mushy, and it was barely edible. Overall I gave it 5 stars but just 4 on the food because of the broccoli, but I will definitely visit this restaurant again.
This is nice little restaurant open in 1980. The food is good and flavorful. I had to try their minestrone soup and it did t disappoint. It’s a must try. I had the steak and eggs and my wife had an omelette. Both were very tasty. Nice area for shopping and the weather was great as well. This was my first time in Monterey California. Everything seems nice.
Food was excellent. I got a lasagna, potato skins, and a salad, they were all tasty and we ate very well. The waitress was so nice, she never missed a beat when it came to refilling our drinks and that is so appreciated, her helpers as well. Highly recommended if you’re ever in Monterrey.
This is one of my favorite spots to treat yourself whether you’re celebrating a birthday or just craving a great slice of cake, this is the place to go! I also tried their minestrone soup, which hit the spot perfectly. And if you have a hearty appetite, do not miss their incredible tomahawk steak it’s absolutely worth it but huge.
Rosine’s Restaurant exceeded my expectations! I had the lasagna and chicken Alfredo, and both were absolutely delicious. The lasagna was rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor, while the chicken Alfredo was perfectly creamy with tender, well-seasoned chicken. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and attentive. The cozy atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back—highly recommended!
It was so good the first time, we had to go back for seconds! Thanks to Sally and Katie for the incredible service. The food was over the top. We can't wait to go back. The the Chili Puff was so delicious that I just had to purchase Rosine's Cookbook. The Benedicts were topped with the best hollandise sauce I've ever had. Hint: another reason to buy her cookbook! I can see why this restaurant is on the DO NOT MISS list of places to try in Monterey.
Four of us stopped in at Rosine’s for dinner before a concert at the Golden State Theater across the street. We had a 6:30 PM reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival, despite the restaurant being very busy. Our server greeted us promptly and took our order without delay. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan, Fettuccine Alfredo with Prawns, Crispy Hot Chicken Sandwich, and the California Club. The food arrived quickly and everything was delicious. I had the Crispy Hot Chicken, which came with hot oil and hone; excellent flavor and perfectly prepared. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our visit. We all enjoyed our meals and still had plenty of time to walk over to our concert. A great experience overall.
This is a Monterey County legend! Known for their spectacular desserts, especially their cakes! Everything we’ve ever had for breakfast or lunch has been delicious. Service is good and the coziness and decor (especially at Christmas) is inviting. We look forward to visiting again on our next trip home. Highly recommend! Don’t miss out on dining here at least once if you are visiting Monterey.
This might become one of our go-to places. The great thing about Rosine’s is that they have great food, nice staff, fairly affordable prices compared to other restaurants, & most of all, you feel comfortable being here with young kids. In fact, most of the families eating there had young kids & it didn’t seem to bother anyone. I did try their minestrone which was amazing, olive garden doesn’t even compare. I also had their calamari steak, which I never had before, & enjoyed it. We also took a brownie & cookie home. The brownie was good, maybe too rich though. Cookie was great. Overall the food was really good & the staff very nice. I look forward to coming here again with my family.
We got the dulce de leche latte and a butter cookie latte both hot but you can get them cold. The ministrone soup was mentioned on Diners n Drives for good reason. Its the best I ever had with big chunks of chuck roast beef. We also had the brunch burger and it was good the bacon jam and fried egg set it off. Also got the turkey avocado Benedict and it was so yummy. The hollandaise sauce was very creamy. Will definitely be coming back now that we are locals!
Decided to stop in for an early dinner with my wife and had a great dining experience. I reserved a table for dinner through the OpenTable app. After spending the afternoon visiting Carmel by the Sea, we got hungry a bit earlier than expected so I revised my reservation to an earlier time. Upon arrival to Rosine's we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. After being seated, we were welcomed by Sarah, our charming and informative server. She took our drink order and gave us time to peruse the menu. My wife decided on a cup of the minestrone soup and lasagna, and I chose a cup of the clam chowder and calamari steak sandwich. My wife is somewhat of a minestrone soup afficionado and she thoroughly enjoyed her soup saying how tasty, flavorful, and chunky it was, claiming it was the best she's ever had. My clam chowder was equally enjoyable, thick and tasty and full of clams, potatoes, and vegetables. My wife's lasagna was artfully presented, surrounded by slices of garlic bread. It was delicious and had the right balance of noodles, cheese, and sauce. My calamari steak sandwich was also delicious, evenly breaded and included a buttery toasted bun, fries, and ketchup and tartar sauce on the side. The portions of our entrees were very generous such that neither of us could finish and had to take the rest to go. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Rosine's. Sarah was very attentive to our needs, answered all of our questions, and promptly refilled our drinks, all while being gracious and welcoming. We'll definitely return the next time we're in town.
Fantastic place with large menu and excellent selections. Ham steak was huge and pancakes light and fluffy. Also have a huge amount of homemade desserts with friendly staff
We absolutely love the food everytime we come here. My favorite is the loaded potato appetizer. I have been here more than 3 times and have never been disappointed, this is our go to spot for lunch whenever we visit Monterey or Big Sur. Most recently we tried their cream cheese chocolate cake for my brother’s birthday and it was amazing. The waiters were so sweet and came together to sing a birthday song and it made my brother’s day.
I came to Rosine’s for brunch with my mom and aunt, and we absolutely loved it! The food was absolutely delicious, everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous. The service was excellent too friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and great service.
Amazing food. Best Alfredo I’ve ever had. Calamari was 10/10, meatballs amazing. Desserts for everyone and can tell they are all homemade. Great place and would recommend to everyone.
The food came out so quickly and tasted AMAZING! Best pancakes I've ever had. The staff were sweethearts and very attentive. I definitely recommend stopping by for a bite.
Sarah was an excellent server—very attentive and knowledgeable. She took care of everything we needed, answered all our questions, and was quick without ever making us feel rushed. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere made the experience even better.
We've been here a few times and had a different server each time. We've only tried the cakes and pies so far, so this review is mainly about that. The staff are generally very nice. The cakes and pies are delicious and some pieces could even replace a whole meal, they are so rich. We can highly recommend the carrot cake and the (very rich) peanut butter cake. We will definitely be back to try all the different cakes and pies and are already looking forward to their new creations.
This place is very nice, highly recommend , amazing deserts and of course the blueberry pancakes were my favorite, the wife got poached eggs with salmon, she said that it was also tasty!
We had come here before and couldn’t get in because they were packed and had 45 min wait so we had left. We came back to Monterey and wanted to see why it was so popular. The moment you walk in, you have the most gorgeous pies and cakes greeting you. The hosts are quick to answer questions and to sit you or change your seating if you prefer (we wanted a booth). The place has a diner feel, but extra fancy and classy at a super fair price. There’s so many diverse families, couples and even groups that are tourists. I highly recommend their food and desserts. I’m so thrilled to say that their snickers cake wins. We did a sampler and I can’t get enough of it! It’s like eating the actual chocolate bar, but turned into this smooth mousse that you can crunch on! Please order milk or coffee with it, you won’t regret it! It’s a must for anyone in Monterey!
Loved the food here so much!! Great options for gluten free - I got gluten free French toast and an omelet that was incredible. Sitting outside was lovely + the waitstaff was very nice.
This place was Fantastic the Atmosphere was refreshing and vibrant the food and lasagna was fabulous and Soo delicious and service was reasonably timed well..drinks appetizers and then the hot piping food was out the steak was delicious as well. I grew up in New Port Beach and have tried several different restaurants but this was absolutely Wonderful. 💛🌹

The steak and lasagna (separate dishes) were excellent! The meatballs were alright, but we liked the ricotta on them :) The cake slice was massive 😂. We got the forest cake slice, and two of us could not finish it.

Good food, very busy place. The staff were great and attentive. Calamari and fries were very tasty. I do wish they had regular cocktail sauce as their house sauce was kinda sweet and didn't seem have any horseradish in it. Onion rings were fantastic and the clam chowder is pretty good. Chicken pesto sandwich was okay. LOTS of tasty looking cakes, but too full to partake. Would recommend!

This is a favorite place for my mom who knows the staff from way back when. It's a great place to meet up with friends and family with a central location. Based on what I remember from our last visit, the portions seemed to have gotten smaller, but the taste is still good. If you're lucky, you'll be able to find parking on Alvarado, but there's a convenient parking garage on the back side about a block away with an easy alley access to their front door. Overall, a wonderful place to come for a nice meal with very attentive, warm and caring staff.
Hate to say it but we ended up at Rosie's because of Guy's triple D review of the lasagna. In case you didn't know, according to the review, this lasagna has "layers of flavor". The decor is a bit of an upscale diner. My wife ordered the lasagna and I ordered the French dip with onion rings. My wife enjoyed her lasagna, but I didn't think it was anything to put on TV. The French dip was different on an onion roll, though I think ultimately I should have gotten it on the french roll instead. It was good, but not any better than any other French dip I've ever had. The onion rings on the other hand were to die for. The battery was thin and crispy. The onion inside didn't pull through on the first bite. The flavor was wonderfully mild and perfect dipped into a little ranch dressing. All in all the food was good not great. The decor and atmosphere might lead you to think snooty, upper crust, white table cloth, fine dining but if you go in with diner style food in mind they don't disappoint.
Decent kids menu that offers salmon. The kids Mac and cheese looks very close to boxed Kraft Mac and cheese but hey the little kids didn’t Mind it. We got the surf and turf and the Cajun pasta with shrimp. The entree came with soup or salad. The mushroom soup was delicious. The Cajun pasta was a hit…our kids liked it tho it had a tad spicy kick. My son liked the steak too.
Good food and non alcoholic drinks. My group liked the Lavender Lemonade and Guava Limeade drinks. Chicken Wings were sweet and filling. Basil Eggs Benedict with steak was excellent with the steak made medium rare and pesto sauce. Shrimp Eggs Benedict was tasty. 2 of us had the Lasagna. It was flavorful but not the best I had. Portion sizes were huge. Service was the only not good part of it. No one came to check on us after food was served and fill water up.
We had the California club sandwich which we shared for two people. Large portion sizes. We also had the chips and guacamole appetizer. Good food all around. We also ordered a cookie to go. Also good. Nice stop with a good variety for your whole crew. It was busy at 2:30 pm on a Monday. That tells you it is a good place to eat. They also have cakes that look delicious.
Very busy on Saturday. Service was friendly but a little slow. Had the half sourdough French toast. It had sesame seeds on it. It was ok, but I did not care for the sesame seeds. Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Inside and outside seating. Tables are a little too close together, hard to get around, and no privacy to have a conversation. Large dessert selection.
Rosine’s. Wow. Another treasure along Alvarado Street. Six of us gathered there to celebrate a work milestone — the kind of dinner where you want energy, warmth, and food that feels a little celebratory. One member of our group gave us a brief history lesson beforehand, noting that Rosine’s has been a mainstay of Alvarado Street for years. After one evening there, I understand exactly why. This is a busy place. Reservations are strongly recommended. The atmosphere strikes that rare balance: slightly lively but not chaotic. It wasn’t overly loud, yet you could feel the hum of a well-loved restaurant doing steady business. Quaint, friendly — the kind of eatery most people hope to find while strolling downtown Monterey. My only quasi-complaint? We were seated in a higher-traffic area, which slightly detracted from the overall experience. Not a deal-breaker, just a small note. They offer both indoor and some outdoor seating. Starters We began with two orders of Crispy Calamari Strips and Chips (fries). If you’re expecting tentacles, this isn’t that style — these are strips. The dish came paired with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and ketchup. Both platters were completely devoured. We also ordered Guacamole, Pico de Gallo, and Chips, which was excellent. The tortilla chips were unique — almost a cross between flour and corn tortilla chips. Hard to describe, but memorable. Everyone shared a bottle of wine or ordered individual drinks, and the table felt properly celebratory. Entrees The six entrees included: Three orders of Surf and Turf Chicken Parmesan Stuffed Salmon Guacamole Bacon Burger The Surf and Turf featured a 10 oz New York steak, three grilled prawns, baked potato (substitutable for mashed or fries at no extra charge), and fresh vegetables. I ordered mine medium with mashed potatoes. Every steak at our table was cooked perfectly to preference — no small feat. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were excellent. I added a $2 Caesar salad. Flavor-wise, it was very good, though the greens were slightly mushy, which muted the experience a bit. A small note in an otherwise strong showing. Everyone at the table genuinely enjoyed their meals. The Coup de Grâce: Dessert Then came dessert. After spotting the size of neighboring slices, we wisely decided to order just one serving for the six of us: Cookies and Cream cake made with Oreo cookies. When I say “slice,” I mean slab. It was massive. Truly one of those “you have to see it to believe it” desserts — and just $10. Even with six people sharing, we didn’t finish it. But it was absolutely delicious. Rosine’s is well worth visiting. Make reservations, expect a nice atmosphere, and come hungry — especially if dessert is in your future. Service was very good and appropriately attentive without being intrusive. A true Alvarado Street classic.

They forgot any sense of seasonings? The prices they charge, we had better lasagna and meat at Olive Garden. (Not the biggest fan of Olive Garden either) Only reason I'm giving 3 stars was the food was edible, service was excellent and it had a great atomsphere. Hope they pay their staff well since they're saving all the money on not buying any seasonings!! If youre visiting Monterey, go 10 minutes up the road to Carmel. Way better food for the same prices.
I want to start off by saying that spaghetti is my favorite food. That being said, I did not finish my pasta dish I got from this place, and neither did my kids. Looking at all the ratings, I had high expectations, and I was sorely disappointed. The “meat sauce” I got had no meat in it, and the meatballs tasted like taco meat. Not really a flavor combination I was expecting. The bread that came with it was also on a sesame seed bun.. lol the whole experience was very strange. I do have to give them credit though, the minestrone was really good. We ordered to go so I can’t speak on the service or the atmosphere itself. I heard this place was covered on som food network show a long time ago, which explains the ratings. I’ll try other restaurants before I come back here.
We definitely had a noteworthy experience here 2 weeks ago. We waited over 30 minutes for a table, even though we were told it would be 10-15 mins. That's fine, stuff happens. Based on everything we were told, it was worth the wait. Once seated, it took almost another 15 minutes for our server to even come get our drink/food order. We almost left. I understand if it's busy, but to be sat and then ignored was very odd. It was clear this place was majorly understaffed. Not just by 1 or 2 people, but probably 5-10. After finally ordering, our food did come quite quickly, and it was very good! However, we noticed there were hundreds of fruit flies around the restaurant. I took a photo (attached to this review), of 12 on the wall and bench back behind my partner (on just one side). They were everywhere around us. This made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. The food was great, but the service and fruit flies will definitely prevent me from returning here.
The mashed potatoes were BOXED!!! It was not freshly made. I ordered steak and shrimp and it was bleh. Not much flavor. Then to be served with boxed mashed potatoes?!?! Boo. Luckily i ordered potato wedges so at least that was a real potato. The rumchata hot chocolate was THE BEST THING on the table. There were GNATS all over the place!! Once they started landing on my food, i was done. The staff were super nice. That's what gave my review two stars. We tipped her really well just because our waitress was nice and sweet. I was so disappointed in this place. They need a deep clean and a chef that cooks
