3:01pm on a Thursday. Absolute excellent service. Place is completely empty I am the only customer. Server extremely polite and attentive food hot and delicious place was clean and well kept and oh and the server? She was so nice!!!! I almost don't want to write the review so this place stays empty 🤣
Louis was great! Burgers are tasty for the right price. Love the atmosphere. Got seated immediately our server Louis explained the menu and he took care of us from beginning to end. Bar drinks were delicious. Will be back! Suggest you stop by and get a real burger not a fast food patty.
I love going to The Counter in Mountain View. We get great service, the food is great and the drinks are great. Everyone that works there is very nice.
I like how you can customize everything for this burger. They also have good dairy-free buns for those that are lactose intolerant or vegan. The food is definitely on the pricier side, so I expected better service, thus giving 4 stars instead of 5. Not a bad choice for a nice lunch with decent burgers, fries and shakes.
Decent place to have a good burger, menu is short and simple, ambience and service is good. Very easy to order with online from the table. They add 20% gratuity by default, which is only downside of this place.
First time ordering out from here. At first when I walked in to pick up my order, they seemed just a little disorganized. There seemed to be some issue with a person's order that I don't know much about. I ordered a Banana Split shake and the Burrata Burger with no sides. The burger meat itself wasn't really seasoned well if it was supposed to be and it was a bit dry (ordered it medium well). What made it enjoyable were the toppings that were included with the burger. Burrata cheese, roasted tomatoes, balsamic fig glaze, arugula, and red onions. I didn't know what Burrata cheese was but I really enjoyed it. It's just a form of mozzarella, which is my favorite cheese. But the combination of the arugula and the balsamic fig glaze made each bite enjoyable. If I choose to go back I'll order something else for a new experience. Also the shake tasted good as there was a strong presence of banana in it.
Positive: A wide range of menu choices and I like the taste. Not so good: The prices are too high for a weekday lunch IMHO ($25 in my case). Also, I would like to have more low caloric food choices. In addition, although the staff is very friendly, I was unhappy on several occasions: Bringing food but forgetting the cutlery 🍴or not offering a refill on the drinks 🍻.
Burgers were great. Made correctly and tasted great. Very flexible gluten free options. Was my first time visiting. I expected a counter and counter service. Wasn't sure why they were trying to seat us. They handed us menus and a clipboard with a build your own burger sheet. Wasn't explained and didn't get handed a pen or pencil. All very confusing how and where to order. Eventually figured it out and the rest of ordering and food delivery was typical. Decent beer and wine options on tab and bottled. Overall, it wasn't a great value. We spent double what we'd normally spend for a couple burgers and drinks.
Great little place to grab a burger. Friendly staff and lots of options to build a burger just how you want. They also have great options for milkshakes and floats. Very busy but they had plenty of seating inside and outside to find somewhere to sit. Prices are reasonable. Not a lot of parking but wasn't hard to find a spot nearby.

Burger and fries flavor were good, except the food arrived cold, i'm not sure how if the food arrived shortly after we ordered, disappointed nonetheless

Pretty expensive for your average burger. They automatically add 20% gratuity onto the bill. The service was fine, but not a "20% tip"-type of service. They do have a wide variety of drinks here though (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and make some nice milkshakes. Overall, had a decent time, but probably not coming back again.
Decent burgers but, unfortunately, they instantly lose points because of the brioche and shredded iceberg lettuce. I got the jalapeno cheddar burger and an order of shoestring fries. Let's talk about the good stuff first. The beef tastes great and the kitchen knows their temps. I ordered it medium well, and it turned out perfect; just a touch of pink in the center of the patty. They also season the meat well, unlike so many other burger places that just plop a bland, greasy patty on your bun and call it good. And it even came with a whole grilled jalapeno. I love that! Unfortunately, the burgers aren't served with fries, so when you see a burger priced at $19.39, that's JUST the burger. An order of shoestring fries will run you $5.49, but it's ABSOLUTELY worth it. Their fries are thin, crispy, and have just the right amount of steamy potato inside. They arrived well seasoned, too. And that's difficult for alot of burger joints to get right for some reason; they are usually either bland or too salty. But The Counter knows what they are doing with potatoes. They also have a bit of the peel attached to the fries, too, and I like that. Now let's discuss the areas where they need improvement. I'm sorry, but I desperately wish that this fascination with brioche would run its course. Brioche is a great bread, but like any other bread, there are specific applications for which it is best suited, and those for which it is not. If I'm getting french toast, or a grilled cheese sandwich, brioche makes sense. It's soft and buttery, kinda delicate, very tasty, almost creamy. But it's not a great choice for sopping up burger grease. I don't care who you are, what kind of burger you're making, whatever; brioch is not a good bun for burgers. The bottom bun always gets soggy and falls apart, and that's a problem when you are eating with your hands. I will admit that the brioche at The Counter held up better than it has at other burger places, but there is still no place for it in burgers. That is just my personal opinion (though my uneducated opinion is informed by 40 years of regular, frequent burger consumption). And that is a good segue to the lettuce discussion. The menu says they use a "lettuce blend", but when my burger arrived, it was sitting on a pile of shredded romaine lettuce. Romaine is better than iceberg, but it was still shredded. And I don't know how you can claim that it's a lettuce "blend" when it's only 1 kind of lettuce. "Blend" implies two or more items mixed together. Regardless of the type of lettuce, there is no excuse for serving it shredded on a burger. Lettuce already contains alot of water, like any other leafy vegetable. But when you shred it like that, and store it in a contained of ice water, unless the cook makes extra effort to squeeze it all out, the burger is going to be wet. However, if I MUST eat a brioch bun burger with shredded lettuce, I would prefer it comes from The Counter. I've had WAY wetter burgers. So, overall, not bad. Good fries. Good burger. However, brioche bun + shredded lettuce = 3 stars. Oh, and the service is great. Everyone is very professional and polite. I can see myself stopping in again sometime.
I visited this place for the first time, and the food was good. However, the order sheet was confusing for first-timers like me. I marked and then crossed out a few items with pencil, but they were still added to my order by mistake. In the end, I was okay with the wrong order, but when I paid the bill, I didn’t realize that a 20% tip had already been included. I then added another 20% tip, so I was charged twice. In total, I paid almost $40 for just a burger, fries, and a Coke for one person.
Eager to satisfy my hunger, I excitedly chose this nearby place with promising 4-star reviews. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations at The Counter. Despite ordering the Nashville Hot with Parmesan fries in advance, the wait was extended, and upon finally getting my meal, it was disappointingly cold. The cheese on the fries had solidified, and while the brioche bun was good, the chicken piece felt small in comparison. The sandwich was average, and I've had better elsewhere, like the Chick-fil-A sandwich. Overall, the value didn't measure up, and the sauce lacked memorability. I recently tried Dave's Hot Chicken, and its higher quality and genuine spiciness make it a preferable choice for my next meal. The only good thing was their signature Pomegranate Berry Lemonade.
It was just ok for $24 total with no sides or drinks! Yikes. I got the vegan cheese added not realizing that this was an extra $1.50 and it was super weird looking - not melted - never seen anythin…
When I walked in at 330pm on a tuesday there were 3 other tables with patrons. I was not greated when i came in and it took a couple of minutes before i got a hello and some menus brought to me. There was some good but also a lot of bad about my experience... The Good... The meat was fresh and cooked to my desired temperature. The Loaded tator-tots were delicious and there was a large.portion. It was also happy hour (3pm to 5pm Mon thru Fri) so the food was cheaper then normal. The Bad... and there is a lot... 1st off, i was not told by the bartender that it was happy hour and 16 oz beers are $5 but 20 oz beers are $11. I ordered a 20oz without knowing it was happy hour so it cost me an extra $6 for 4 oz of beer be ause i was not told by the bartender that it was happy hour before I ordered. I ordered the loaded tots, the mini cheeseburgers and the brussle sprouts from the happy hour menu. The sprouts were burnt on the outside but still raw on the inside. The sauce was decent but they were hard to eat. The burgers are small for what you get and are very.pricey. I was ignored throughout my meal.and had to.continuously find my waiter and ask him for stuff instead of him checking on me. And above.all else... THIS.PLACE CHARGES A 4% surcharge without asking to support a small business... it does not say what business but I assume its theirs and charging people extra for nothing is a GIANT RED FLAG!!!!!!! After all that, i doubt i will be back to give them more of my money. For the price, I expect much better service and quantity for the price. 5 Guys is cheeper and better and i am not a huge fan of 5 Guys,.if that says anything... anyway, dont waste your time here.
Burgers very small and service unhelpful. Taste is average at best. Did not find value. Have not returned.

The girls that work there are children. They are rude and do not wait on customers in a timely manner. I will not be returnIng to this location.there is a HUGE lack of respect from the employees there. They were on their phones. Laughing loudly in the back and leaving customers waiting to order. Very poor customer service.
