We held our annual holiday dinner at this amazing establishment Our server Jaime was absolutely amazing and made our experience go from a 10 to a 1000. His service, sense of humor and all around attitude was 2nd only to his kind the way he treated us all like family. His kind demeanor was everything that was needed for our special evening. 4 Million and you're coming on vacation with us, so get ready. :) The steaks were all amazing, melted like butter. The apps and sides were fantastic. Jaime's wine suggestion was top notch and the deserts were amazingly delicious. We were all very happy with our evening and will define back.

If you're looking for a fining dining restaurant that's in the heart of NYC, look no further. Food quality and presentation was spectacular while the ambiance and mood was warm and cozy. It also helped that our party was seated near the fireplace. Our server Jaime was very friendly and he did an amazing job to make sure everything was perfect!

Sea Fire Grill offered an extraordinary seafood dining experience that left a lasting impression. We began our meal with a rich and creamy lobster bisque, which was perfectly seasoned and had a smooth texture that was incredibly satisfying. Following this, we indulged in succulent grilled prawns that were marinated to perfection, resulting in a delightful burst of flavor with each bite. The creamed spinach that accompanied our dishes was velvety smooth and complemented the other flavors beautifully. For the main course, we chose the tomahawk steak, which was cooked to our exact specifications, resulting in a tender and juicy piece of meat that was a true culinary delight. To top off our meal, we savored the crab-stuffed lobster, a dish that was both visually appealing and bursting with the fresh, sweet taste of crab meat. In addition to the exceptional food, the service at Sea Fire Grill was nothing short of amazing. The staff was incredibly attentive, always ensuring that our glasses were refilled and that we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Their kindness and professionalism made us feel truly welcome and valued as guests. The restaurant itself provided the perfect setting for a weeknight dinner, offering a balance between a cozy and casual atmosphere and a formal dining experience. The beautiful instrumental music playing softly in the background, combined with the dim lighting, created an ambiance that was both intimate and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a memorable evening.

What a great find. There was seven of us. We had the Branzino, Dover Sol, Yellowfin Tuna. This place is great and a must eat at. I’m from Florida and we have great seafood. This place is one of the best if not the best seafood places I’ve ever been to. Great job Sea Fire!

My fiancée and I were in the area and were looking for a great restaurant in NYC. Decided to call to make sure we could get last minute reservations for the two of us. The staff was very friendly and we were lucky enough to be able to get a table despite it being restaurant week (we had no idea!). The atmosphere was elite, and the food was exquisite! Our server Dennis made great recommendations and he (along with the entire wait staff) went above and beyond to make sure our experience was phenomenal! The food was so good that I’m already looking forward to coming back the next time we are in the NYC area. FYI there is no valet parking but there is a garage directly across the street from the restaurant for easy and safe parking!

If you’re searching for an unforgettable seafood and steakhouse experience in Midtown East, look no further than Sea Fire Grill. From the moment you step inside, the warm, cozy ambiance welcomes you in, with a roaring fireplace that sets the perfect tone for an elegant yet inviting meal. The menu is a masterclass in indulgence, where every dish impresses. The tuna tartare was a standout—so fresh, so perfectly balanced, that I could eat it every day and never tire of it. The scallops were divine, cooked to perfection with a delicate sear, while the ribeye steak was an absolute showstopper—juicy, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And let’s not forget the balsamic Brussels sprouts, possibly the best I’ve ever had. Pair all of this with exquisite drinks, and you have a meal that leaves a lasting impression. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly attentive, their recommendations were flawless, and we were treated like royalty from start to finish. Sea Fire Grill is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates top-tier seafood and steak in a refined yet comfortable setting. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself to an extraordinary meal, this restaurant delivers on every level. Highly recommended!

Great service and food! They have an excellent lunch prefix. We went for dinner where everything was a la carte with comparable prices to other fine dining places in the area.

This was a ladies lunch for us to catch up as we hadn't seen each other in awhile. It was our first time going to Sea Fire Grill. I was impressed by the decor. The noise level was perfect. We could hear each other speak and didn't have to struggle. The staff is professional and so nice. We all did the Prix Fixe menu and the options all sounded delicious, making it hard to decide. I had the mesclun salad, the Scottish Salmon and tiramisu. As you will see by my photos, the portions are perfect. The salad was delicious, I love the watermelon radish and asparagus. The salmon was cooked to perfection and I loved the black rice. Our waiter highly recommended the tiramisu and he was so right, it was the best I have had. I will be going back to try other items on the menu. I highly recommend Sea Fire Grill

We had an absolutely excellent experience at The Seafire Grill. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. For appetizers, we ordered the hamachi sashimi, tuna tartare, octopus, and grilled shrimp — every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The ambience was very nice, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. There was no wait time, and the service was truly top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. For our main courses, we had the filet mignon and the ribeye, both cooked to absolute perfection. We also ordered the truffle fries and lobster mac and cheese, which were both excellent and complemented the steaks perfectly. Overall, the experience was wonderful, and the service was exceptional. We will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

The food was AMAZING! The service was even MORE AMAZING! Jaime was our waiter, and while we didn't think anything about the place or the food could be made better, the experience of having Jaime serve us - his attention to detail and intention to ensure we were happy and satisfied with everything one expects to have when they dine-out - pushed our desire to give a 6 STAR review for service - but the most you can give is a 5 STAR review.................so we are forced to make note of his STELLAR service in the text portion of our review! We would recommend Sea Fire to anyone/everyone seeking to have an outstanding restaurant experience and also strongly suggest they request Jaime as their server! GREAT TIME HAD BY ALL of us who wined and dined here! We will be back again, and again, and again!

Sea Fire Grill on on E48 th St, near 3rd Ave. NYC. Clean and quiet contemporary American seafood restaurant with gas fireplace in the rear. We came on a Saturday night. Clients mostly couples and families.I had split pea soup, halibut, French fries & apple strudel. All quite nice. My wife had a glass of (French) Pinot Noir, mesclun salad, duck, Tiramisu. Duck was ok but just ok. The others pretty good. On this chilly March evening the fireplace added warmth to the atmosphere.

Opa! What a great Greek experience that’s in the middle of Lexington. Zucchini chips that is paired with tzatziki sauce is an order that is a must. Classic spread to enjoy the tastes of the Mediterranean. Scallops were cooked to perfection. Wait staff very attentive and the ambiance is filled with guests who enjoys seafood. Will return.

Had lunch here Dec 5 with my girlfriend and 2 of her friends. Excellent service, ambience and food. Long time no see the friends so we were there for 3 1/2 hrs. Never felt hurried by wait staff and I tipped accordingly. A surprise - Robert De Niro was at a table with another guy about 12-15 ft away. No one bugged him, a cool place without a doubt. Try it you’ll like it.

Met relatives who have eaten at Avra many times. Noon lunch date and they were nice enough to let us in early as it was VERY cold outside. Nice choices and a really good price fixed 3 course lunch. Nice choices-good service and delicious food. What more can u ask for. Oh and nice and quiet!

Lovely and convivial! There were couples, families, old friends and a few solo diners. The service staff is right on top of it without being a bother. In other words, they read the room. Very accommodating with wine selection assistance and food suggestions. We 3, started out with some appetizers for the table, over-ordered as usual. When we finally finished them(talk-talk-eat-drink-talk repeat) we were not quite satisfied and soon suggestion of our ser=er, ordered the Branzino between the 3 of us…PERFECT! Then it was only to finish with dessert and coffee/after dinner drinks to round out our meal. Our fast fingered friend grabbed the check before we could see it so I’m at loss to share the cost. A perfectly delightful evening and I look forward to coming here again!

Very nice Greek restaurant in Midtown . We came from the 9/11 memorial which was incredible. We needed a simple delicious lunch and this was the perfect place. We had the prix fix lunch and it was perfect for all 5 of us . My kids loved the steak and lamb chops .

The Avra Estiatorio is amazing and well-renowned restaurant that offers guests superb quality service and highly delicious Greek style cuisine ranging from grilled fish, lamb chops, lobster pasta and many other dishes. In September of 2025, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at Avra Estiatorio, specifically the Avra 48th Street branch to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We very much enjoyed our dining experience!!! We were kindly greeted by the restaurant’s staff and were quickly provided with a very clean and comfortable dining table. Both my wife and I were impressed with the restaurant’s ambiance and interior settings. We definitely enjoyed viewing the chic white color scheme on the walls and ceiling, dim lighting, the marble floor and display of fresh food, all of which helped evoke an image of a serene and tranquil Greek courtyard or village. Our server, Esmeralnta S and her colleague were both consummate professionals. They both did a great job on addressing our menu inquiries, properly documenting our orders, and routinely checked with us to see if we were having a great time and enjoying our meals. They were very kind and welcoming and made us feel right at home. In addition to great atmosphere and settings, both my wife and I loved our meals. We both ordered and enjoyed our appetizers and our lamb chops entree. We found our meal to be mouthwatering delicious because it was perfectly cooked and superbly seasoned!!! Additionally, our cheesecake dessert was off the charts and wonderfully delightful!!! My wife and I would love to thank Avra Estiatorio for providing us with an exceptional and memorable dining experience, and for helping to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We highly recommend for everyone to visit and dine at this outstanding restaurant!!!

Free, unlimited pita and hummus starters with the most heavenly hummus I have ever tasted. The sea bass was perfectly cooked (moist, fatty, and balanced) with a tomato sauce that gently complimented the natural flavors of the fish. The atmosphere here is great and the servers take their jobs seriously

Place is alot bigger inside than looks outside. Bread and hummus on the house was delicious - their olive oil has that perfect kick. Had the grilled chicken, octopus, calamari, oyster mushrooms and Chilean sea bass souvlaki and all of it was prepared, served and tasted to perfection. Great ambiance. Servers were on top of everything. Personally love it when any and every member of the staff knows exactly what is in any and every dish you have questions about. Don’t pass them up.

Love this rest. Fresh food, good service & very spacious with 2nd floor. Accessible to all attractions just across radio city. Our waiter was very nice & attentive, one of our friends came late & her food was served already. He recommended to keep it so it will ve warm. Never encounter such a nice gesture in other rest. Price is reasonable too for a prix fixe menu considered its in midtown, highly recommend this place.

This is a great option for an elevated dining experience! They have fresh seafood and if you like cheese, get the saganaki! They have a large dining room and attentive service. I personally enjoy savoring a meal, but if you’re in a hurry, this may not be the perfect spot for you. We didn’t get it, but I will be going back to try their desserts, which looked amazing.

This restaurant is one of my favorite Greek restaurants in NYC! 👍😊 I first came here many years ago, just after it was opened, and I've never been disappointed! Yesterday I had lunch there with friends, and we really enjoyed the cozy, festive atmosphere as well as the delicious and well prepared food. 👍👍 The raw plate combo was truly outstanding 😋😋😋 ... and our main courses were delish with perfectly cooked fish 👍😋👍 ... but lacking a bit in presentation!🤔 Of the desserts we tasted, we liked the yogurt with the typical spoon sweets the best! 😋 The service was very friendly and professional ... but the prices are on the higher side ... reflecting the restaurant's location and the high quality of the food served! 😉

Good food and great service. Sommelier in the house and did a great job recommending wine pairing with foods. Lobster Bisque was too salty and small amount of lobster bits. Filet mignon was done well, medium rare, juicy, tender and tasty.

Amazing appetizers, I didn’t like the lobster much. But the Spanish octopus and the scallops were amazing.

This is a great restaurant in New York. We've been there a few times, and it's consistently very good. The best place to sit is in the wine room. The bar up front is unnecessarily cramped, they could do something to free up more bar space.

Great food and service! Amazing atmosphere, pretty high level attention to detail and great service. The only downside in my opinion is that it takes a while for the main entrees to come out. I believe we waited around 25-30 minutes after ordering them. Also it is very loud in there, you can only talk to the people next to you.

Halibut was over cooked. The Chilean sea bass was fine but not much flavor. I but loved the hummus appetizer. Loved the baked beets with almond hummus.

The service is good but the food could be better. My friend's fish was under cooked and my wagyu was over cooked. Pasta was ok.

Avra 48 is right by my apartment. I usually go to the 60th & Madison location but wanted to give this one another try. Service was great and the brunch/lunch deal is unbeatable. Went on a Sunday at 4pm—it was quiet, we sat outside for two hours and never felt rushed. Food was excellent: the Greek salad (always a hit), hot and flaky spanakopita, and the branzino—which Avra first made me fall in love with. They kindly removed the head when I asked, and it was still a 10/10. Dessert was the strawberry cheesecake—tiny portion, but creamy and delicious.

We went to have a nice enjoyable dinner at The Seafire grill . The name itself was already very inviting especially if you like a seafood. It was a Holliday evening and we expected to have a great time with the delicious food. We met a relaxing atmosphere, classic interior with white tablecloth, candles and nice tableware, welcoming space with the dimmed lights. The menu printing was hard to read but staff was very welcoming and gave us some guidelines. I highly appreciate that the music was not loud and we could have a pleasant conversation. The basket of warm bread with butter, olive oil and spread was served as complement from the beginning. The order included two appetisers: Jumbo Lamp crab cake and Spanish octopus. Spanish octopus was the star dish, very well seasoned and balanced with vegetables and the most tender and juicy meat. We enjoyed it very much. I cannot say l like a crab cake. It was very dense, hard with few sauces which were plain and didn’t complement the dish in any way. The pillow of sliced celery root under cake was dry and tough to chew. Not really enjoyable combination. For a main course we chose a classic: a piece of fish and a piece of beef, and it was a disappointment. The piece of beef that we got cannot be served as bone in ribeye for $90. It felt as several times defrosted meat with the texture of paper. Just look at the picture. The side you should order separately. And we did. Fries. No words. The other entree was fish of the day: fresh catches: filet of Striped bass served on sauced Brussels sprouts. Taste of cabbage was extensive sour, overwhelming with balsamic vinegar and the fish was dry, unflavoured and the it had a greyish color. I know my review sounds harsh. Maybe it was that restaurant’s bad day, not great products delivery, anything? But over $300 check for two with such quality is unacceptable. The restaurant was almost empty with just few tables occupied. I give 3 stars for just a such a nice place, great location, carrying personal and future positive perspectives.

Really wanted to like this place. It's a nice location and has a lovely fireplace at the back. We had the branzino and the swordfish along with the creamed spinach, lobster bisque and burrata. All of it was just average. Disappointing for the price.

My husband and I decided to try Sea Fire Grill based on a recommendation from a friend. We made a reservation for 5 PM via OpenTable before heading to a Broadway show at 7 PM. When we arrived, there were a few tables occupied, but it wasn't too busy. The hostess seated us at a table directly in front of the fireplace, which was perfect until they started seating other parties uncomfortably close to us. This was odd, considering there were plenty of other available tables. The proximity of the two parties made our dining experience less enjoyable due to the loud conversations surrounding us. Despite our efforts to tune them out, it was challenging. Initially, the service was good, but it declined as the night went on, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. We started with a special appetizer: a large grilled prawn. While it was good, it lacked flavor and seasoning. For cocktails, we ordered an Old Fashioned and an Espresso Martini, both of which were pretty good. For our entrees, we decided to split the surf and turf, along with Brussels sprouts and lobster mac and cheese as sides. We requested our steak to be cooked medium; however, some parts were medium while others were medium-well. The seafood that accompanied the steak was flavorless, tasting as though it had only been blanched in water. On a positive note, the sides were quite tasty, with the Brussels sprouts being our favorite. Overall, our experience was a bit lackluster.

This was our third time visiting. The atmosphere is great but the food is overpriced and bland. When we went years ago, the food was better. I do remember liking he atmosphere better than the food. This visit I had to send back the tuna; the bok choy was boring and flavorless. It was an easy dish to make well. Mgmt was great and highly professional about returning it, but my server seemed politely annoyed. The salmon was better but the black rice was a little hard. The lobster and prawn were okay but bland as well. I have had fresher seafood at other places in the city. The drinks are delicious. For the high prices, the food should be better. Maybe it used to be better flavors but I won’t be returning.

Appetizers including calamari and dips were really good. Ordered the 3 course option and the apps came out really quick. The main course took extremely long and when the chicken frites came out they were pretty dry and kind of underwhelming. Probably need to order something else if I went again, but overall it was a good experience. Lobster pasta was really good when I tried a bit off someone else’s plate and I kind of regretted ordering the chicken.

I will never return to this restaurant, which is extremely unfriendly toward Asians. Our reservation was for 8:15 PM. I arrived a few minutes early and checked in at the front desk. The hostess abruptly said, “The table isn’t ready, wait,” and left me standing at the entrance with no further explanation or guidance. I was left there awkwardly while people walked past me constantly. After waiting another 7–8 minutes, I asked if I could sit at the bar while waiting. She replied, “Just sit there yourself,” without any direction or assistance. By nearly 8:30 PM, I told them to please inform me once the table was ready. What made this situation even more frustrating was that from the moment I entered, there were clearly many empty tables that remained unused the entire time, despite my reservation. Once seated, I ordered a bottle of still water while waiting for my friend. At that point, I had completely lost the desire to dine and chose to pay only for the water and leave. Additionally, while I was waiting at the bar, there was no communication at all between the front desk and the bar staff regarding my situation or the fact that I was waiting for a friend. The bartender later looked me up and down and asked what I was there for. When I explained that I was waiting for someone, he completely disengaged and stopped providing any service—he did not even offer a glass of water. I will be informing all of my Asian friends that this is a restaurant with serious racial discrimination issues, and I will absolutely never return.

Discriminatory and Disrespectful Experience – Do Better As a person of colour who has visited New York for years, I’ve never encountered such blatant disregard and uncomfortable energy in a restaurant—until today. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was off. Staff members gave me dismissive looks and carried themselves in a way that made it clear I was unwelcome. Their interactions with me were brief, cold, and awkward—completely unlike what I’ve experienced in any other NYC dining establishment. To make matters worse, the food was subpar. My husband ordered a greek salad with an added chicken portion, which arrived rubbery, overcooked, and oddly, without any lettuce. When we raised our concerns with the manager, instead of offering support or even basic courtesy, he looked at me dismissively and asked, “So what would you like me to do about it?” When I requested a refund for the chicken, he flatly refused and walked away. Having worked in hospitality for over 15 years, I know the difference between a mistake and a complete lack of care. This experience was not just disappointing—it felt targeted. There was no attempt to make things right, and the manager’s attitude made it clear our concerns were not taken seriously. For a place that claims to be highly rated, this was beyond unacceptable. If you’re a person of colour, I would strongly caution you before visiting this establishment. No one deserves to be treated this way.
