*12/28/23 Update* Crowded with clueless patrons on a Thursday at 2:30pm. OK slices, not hot enough. I've had better and I've had worse. ** This Soho pizzeria has a very good slice. I had a Grandma traditional style and a pepperoni Sicilian; both were good. The place was a bit cramped with other patrons and the music was also a bit too loud. It's well-lit and clean though, and the guys behind the counter were friendly. If you're in the mood for a slice and you happen to perambulating through the SoHo area, Ben's is a pretty good wager for a solid slice of pizza.

01/07/2026 Came here for the Sicilian pizza. They have a pretty fantastic variety of slices, and at $6 they’re a solid value. The OG cheese slice is slightly less at 5.25, should honestly be $4 in my opinion. The place was clean when I came in shortly after opening and the guy who helped me out was nice. However, they have a “no water” policy, which is honestly why I took a star off this review. Not serving water in the year 2026 is nuts. I got the Palermo, which is very close to the Sicilian sfincione that all “Sicilian” square style pizza descends from. Just breadcrumbs, Oregonian and sauce on a spongy focaccia/pizza hybrid dough. It was oily in a good way, the quality shone through. This slice was almost too tall for my liking, but I will never complain about a portion being too large. Overall, great experience. I will be back, but I will bring my water bottle with me. Also, it is my strong and sincerely held opinion that any place that claims to be Sicilian or uses that demonym needs to fly a Sicilian flag inside and/or outside. Rep our people please.

Well we don't come here for the service. The atmosphere is a classic New York pizza shop. The food is great- I think it's the best pizza in NY and of course their Palermo slice is one unique feature. Always seeing a celebrity or two when you go into this spot. Enjoy!

Great little find as we strolled along looking for something to eat. Fabulous pizza and Calzones. Great old time background music like Elvis and Frank Sinatra. It’s like a diner but for all things pizza. Loved it.

Had a quick bite while strolling around SoHo. While I was going to college at NYU this was a spot to go (over few decades ago) and still good. Broccoli pizza was sour so we returned and got spinach pizza. That slice was the best. Reasonable price for city and good pizza for a quick bite.

Been going here for 30+ years. True Yorker pizza by the slice spot. The tomato and onions and the Palermo is what they’re know for but the regular Sicilian (square) is also excellent. Recommend for quick slice on the go.

I would not pay 5 dollars for a regular slice. The owner justified it by saying the rent is high. If the slice was good then they would be selling enough slices to make the rent. I had to put salt and condiments to make it taste good. The slide was so thin and barely any juice came out the slice. Sign of very little ingredients. Not your top notch nyc slice.

Food was okay, but way overpriced. It's $6.50 per slice, double the price of comparable pizza stores in Manhattan. It's in Soho, so I guess the location somewhat justifies the markup. They do have a restroom that you can use if you are a paying customer. They do NOT take cards. It's Cash Only. They have multiple signs that say POS is down, but based on the ATM available inside, I'm guessing their terminal will be down for years.

The attitude of the guy behind the counter was absolutely unacceptable—extremely rude. We were told that Apple Pay wasn’t accepted, so we politely asked if we could use a physical card, and he said no. In the end, we paid in cash. However, after we sat down, we noticed that every customer who came in after us was paying by card. That was outrageous. Before leaving, we saw a sign saying that customers who spend over $10 and pay in cash would receive a free drink. We spent over $40 and didn’t get a single drink. I honestly don’t understand how a place like this is still in business.

Unwelcoming and unprofessional service. Upon entering, the owner was immediately dismissive. When paying, we were told credit cards were not accepted and that only cash was allowed, without explanation and with a very poor attitude. Moments later, we saw local customers being allowed to pay by credit card. If payment rules are applied selectively, customers will naturally feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This was not a pleasant experience.

Scammer owner, Pizza is really good one of the best I’ve ever had! The guy behind the counter who I assume was the owner was pretty rude, ordered 2 slices of pizza, 2 drinks gave him $100 note when he’s returned the change me being trustworthy put the money straight in my bag. Went to go back order another slice and noticed he short changed me $60 I said something to him and he pretended he didn’t know I had given him $100. Now while sitting there eating I over heard another person say I think he’s given me the incorrect change, proceeded to walk up and ask him And he’s done the exact same thing and made out he didn’t know how much they gave him. Now he must do this to a lot of people all the time hoping they don’t pick up on it. So if you do go here I recommend you check your change before you walk away.
