Avis sur The Dutch New York
I had my birthday celebration in the private event space at the Dutch. The entire evening was truly phenomenal. From the moment we arrived, every detail was seemless and beautifully executed. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were all exceptional. Highly reccomend for any events, celebration or just a cozy meal!
It was one of the best experiences we have had as a family this year. It was our first time in New York and we loved it so much we went twice, once on our first night and then on out last night. My son fell in love with the kids pasta and ate 2 servings. They were kind enough to provide the receipt. Great staff and service on both nights and the food was spectacular.
We went in a large group and the restaurant was very accommodating in hosting us inside on a busy and cold Saturday night. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent!! The burger was the best I had in a long time. The oysters brilliant and the steak perfectly cooked and seasoned. Definitely recommend this place.
A solid brunch option - not the most unique menu but both plates we ordered tasted good and ok value. Fried chicken was tender and juicy, biscuits were fluffy, and the soft scrambled eggs were the perfect texture. Service was very efficient. Personally found the interior a little cramped and dark for brunch, but I think it fits the vibe.
A neighborhood vibe with fantastic service and great food. Carmellini has put together a menu with something for everyone even if you are looking for a suprise. Great bar scene, perfect for people watching and reliably the place we go to with our grown children or out of town guests. Chicken was delicious, pasta was fantastic. Desserts were new to us and the chocolate pudding (it might be something else but its pudding at its best) and the real winner was the apple dessert. Go figure.
I'm a regular at The Dutch, and it continues to impress me with its delicious food, attentive service, and welcoming ambiance. For a recent birthday brunch, I mentioned the celebration in my reservation, and at the end of our meal, our server surprised us by bringing over a dessert with a sparkly candle to wish her a happy birthday. Thoughtful touches like this are why I keep coming back to this neighborhood gem.
Wow! I love this place. The atmosphere was charming, the energy was electric, and the staff was warm and welcoming. The food was out of this world. We got the duck meatloaf, and some of the best fried chicken. I absolutely loved the elevated, modern twist. They took on classic food. To top it all off, the dirty martini was one of the best I’ve ever had.
Really excellent place to come! Notable mentions: - the coffee was surprisingly good, a 7.8 flat white served up! - the Key Line Donut 🍩 was the best dish we had, great softness and flavour to sweetness ratio! The other dishes were good but not great. - Fried Chicken crust was too crunchy and fell off the meat easily - the deviled eggs were perfectly average - the frittata was good but had too much cheese and not enough crusting
I’ll be honest when it comes to review this is one of those restaurants that was in my camera feed. I review all restaurants I go to in my camera feed and I totally forgot to review this meal because it wasn’t stand out shocking but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good. I enjoyed this meal. The food looked and tasted good but again this is New York City and if it doesn’t stand out, it gets lost in the hundreds of thousands of restaurants in this city. There are a few ways that did stand out the burger, beautiful perfect shape, perfect hamburger size ratio, fries, overflowing, tall, beautiful as well and the drink they serve served this amazing looking bloody Mary in this glass fish, which I loved and they make it just the way I like it with double the alcohol however I asked for this it didn’t come this way, but everyone should do this, but even with the alcohol, it felt quite dark, which was strange The fried chicken, gorgeous delicious who doesn’t love fried chicken, the steak beautiful I mean everything was so well put together plated well made well with class in style the crispy potatoes so When did it blew me away though was the oysters I don’t know what oyster I had but it was like smooth butter. I wanted 100 more of those then I might come back for.
Had lunch with my family here in late summer and decided to come based on reviews. Very charming atmosphere and decor. Was seated immediately by staff altough they were a bit too casual in their attitude, almost like they didn't care we were there but it was just a faint feeling nothing deterring. The server was attentive as well. I had a very nice coffee but unfortunately it was served cold. I was desperate for coffee so didn't complain. we got the fried chicken with biscuits and that was yummy. The goat cheese with beets salad was phenominal. the deviled eggs were also good but a bit too strong flavoring. But beautiful presentation all around. I would definitely return here next time Im in town. The food was good. To be honest, it was the decor and ambiance that really made the experienc top notch for me. And also free matches which you never see in restaurants anymore.
We came to the Dutch last night and had a tasty, enjoyable dinner. It was lovely evening out, so we chose to dine outside. It’s on the sidewalk with a lot of foot traffic, which was fine except for the occasional smell of smoke. Also, a bug flew into my rosé, but the server kindly replaced it and gave me a coaster to cover it. For food, we ordered the following for 2 to share: - The Prince Platter - Chinatown Calamari - Lemon Roasted Cod - Potato Purée The Prince Platter was nicely presented with oysters (4 kinds x3 each), jumbo shrimp (4 pieces) and lobster salad. I especially like the jumbo shrimp, which were fresh and very plump. The Chinatown Calamari was more like a calamari salad, with cucumbers, carrots and bean sprouts. The calamari was lightly breaded and perfectly fried, which I loved. We didn’t try the famous fried chicken, but will have to next time. The Lemon Roasted Cod was a nice, colorful dish and the Potato Puree is a must try for any creamy mashed potato lovers. Our server was attentive and it was a great meal overall. It looked cozy inside, too, especially for winter months or when it’s too hot to dine outside.
The pub has such a great, lively vibe - we felt totally at ease laughing and having a good time with friends. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful and the service is excellent- warm, friendly and kind. I recommend to try the chicken fried, (see the picture) it’s totally good to share with someone.
The food was good. Service was Ok, the staff at the front desk however wasnt willing to accommodate our request to have our party and another sit close together, they were giving us a hard time take into consideration that there plenty of available tables. Also I find the menu to be limited. This was the first dining at this restaurant and I wasn't impressed.
My family of 4 ate here on a Friday night and we were happy to be seated without a reservation. Food came quick and our server was great. Why 2 stars? The measly serving of calamari! For $24 -with tax and tip ended up costing me $30.93, we were only given 8 small pieces of squid!!! That's almost $4 a piece! Were the flavors and presentation of the said calamari mind-blowing? NO! So I don't get why they'd be so stingy with serving size.
I’ve never written a negative review before, but this was hands down the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in my eight years living in NYC. Eight of us came to celebrate a birthday and chose The Dutch specifically for the fried chicken. We were all excited, and some of us even traveled from Brooklyn on a 15-degree night to be there. Our reservation was for 8:30 pm, but we weren’t seated until 9:10 pm. No one working at the restaurant acknowledged or apologized for the 40-minute delay. When we finally ordered, our server informed us that they were completely out of the fried chicken — the entire reason we came. We couldn’t help but wonder if we would have been able to order it had we been seated on time. We ended up ordering burgers instead and didn’t receive our food until 10:30 pm. The burgers were fine, but nothing special. When the bill arrived, nothing was comped, and there was no acknowledgment of the birthday. The total was over $500 for a below-average meal and a very disappointing evening. If management had apologized or offered even a small gesture, like dessert for the birthday, the experience might have felt different. Unfortunately, it didn’t. There are countless great restaurants in NYC to celebrate a special occasion — I’d strongly recommend choosing elsewhere. You’ll likely be treated better and enjoy better food.
