Avis sur Hurley's New York
Wife and I stopped in here on our last night in New York on our way back to our hotel. I had a couple of beers, my wife had a couple of drinks. We got the artichoke dip and some wings and were pleasantly pleased with the food and the service. Would definitely stop in again when in NY.
Great place, delicious food, kind service= 10/10 recommended.
Another perfect example of what makes NYC so great. Giant things and simple pleasures. If you’re on the hunt for a cozy Irish pub, you don’t have to look too far. We ran across Hurley’s after a show the day after Christmas, were sat right away for dinner and loved it! Great food and drinks, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff!
Not sure why it’s taken me 2 years to leave a review! I travel from Texas to NYC every other month for work and I have became a regular at Hurleys!! The staff is so welcoming and has the southern hospitality which you don’t see often in NYC!! Food is great and the staff couldn’t be any more perfect! Prices are also great compared to others in the area. This will always be my favorite place to relax in time square!
Our group had dinner outside before going to the play at the Eugene O'NEIL Theater. What a wonderful experience. The seating outside is very comfortable. The food was delicious. We had the Cobb Salad Shepard Pie Ceasars Salad and the Salmon. Service was good. .
Great experience. Visited Hurley's 3 times while on a trip to the Times Square area. The bartender, Cathy, was awesome. We arrived with a large group and she was very patient and engaging with us throughout our several hours of lemon drops in the bar. She was delightful.
Visited here on a Wednesday night for dinner after a 2pm Broadway show. The bar was packed on the bottom level. We opted to go upstairs to dine in. Service was definitely a bit slow, and our waitress barely checked on is, but she was at least very nice. The food was great. We got the swordfish meal and hanger steak, both cooked perfectly. The pretzel appetizer was also delicious. Highly recommend! Just be patient with the service.
Great pub to catch a quick bite and a drink before going to the theatre!
An absolute gem of an Irish pub! From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the delightful fusion menu, every visit here is a treat. The spaghetti and salmon dish is a revelation - perfectly cooked pasta paired with succulent salmon, topped with a flavorful sauce that keeps me coming back for more. Barbecue chicken. The friendly staff always make me feel like family, and the selection of drinks is top-notch. Whether you're craving classic Irish fare or something a bit different like this amazing pasta dish, this pub delivers excellence every time. A must-visit for anyone in search of great food, great drinks!
The grilled hanger steak is amazing. Perfectly seasoned and tender. The sides accompanying it and the gravy: magnificent.
This place is my favourite bars in nyc the barman is such a great laugh and very polite if you want him to be. There's a big history that goes with this place alit of celebs drink here I walked outside and Bruce Springsteen was outside which was crazy in my mind but the bar tender said it was normal gaga imagine that. Well hope this helps. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. Thank you
Great place! Reasonable prices for the area. The food is delicious and the service is excellent!
Cathrine or Kathrine was so much fun and extremely attentive ! Can’t recommend food because we didn’t have any but the beer and wine was delicious so we went back tonight because Cathy was wonderful the other night, we ordered a couple burgers baked clams that were the best we have ever had and blackened shrimp that came with a little bit of salad that was absolutely delicious. Just when you think the night couldn’t get any better the beautiful Ann (aka) owner shows up to express her appreciation that we were having another great evening. Thank you Cathy for taking great care of us and Ann for appreciating us ! You are missing some of the best of NYC if you pass this establishment up! Love to you all and appreciate your kindness!
Just picked up some food and had a beer while waiting. The food was prepared within the time it took to drink the beer! So you might order a bit later if you opt for more than one beer ;-) Food was delicious as well, even though it was packed (US-typical) in aluminum and plastic. Clearly recommended.
Great place to grab drinks after work. The bartender gave generous pours. The mac & cheese wedges were everything I needed :) Prices may seem high to those unaccustomed to NYC & especially Times Square prices but I love going here for post work drinks and hangouts. Indoor dining and 3 floors worth of space to grab drinks and chill. And just a friendly reminder to TIP YOUR SERVICE PPL ✌
One of the best Irish Pubs in NYC! Highly recommended!
In Times Square it is certainly an improbability that your service and quality of offering will not match the price tag- NOT HERE. This is your New York City bar. Paul as the GM, Stephen and Matt anchor the bar, and even though you are in midtown, you are surrounded by cops, firemen, tourists, industry, and actors you may recognize- for pub fare and an Irish restaurant - the food and drink will please you. The company of who you meet will make you stay longer than you wished. This is a staple of the Midtown community and you would be remiss to overlook its offerings which are above the local fare.
The employees accommodated our party of 8 when we showed up very in the late hours. The food was excellent. Many of our party ordered burgers, which came out amazing. I ordered a Caesar salad and the spinach and artichoke dip. The prices and the drinks are also very good. The desserts came out excellent too.
Perfect Irish Pub. Going to the show? As long as the bar is full of stagehands, you know you have time! The house ale is only $5. We had "The Ultimate Pub Burger" which was prepared perfectly. We also ordered the "Cod Po-Boy" made with a perfectly fried large cod fillet. Be sure to cut these sandwiches in half to eat them, otherwise they are too big to handle!
Im leaving this review for Giovanni, whatever you are paying him. Pay him more. Absolutely a professional, courteous. Kind. Outstanding human being. My experience at Hurleys would not have been the same without him and God willing I will be back again.
Last weekend I had an exceptional dining experience at Hurley's! The food and atmosphere were superb. The staff went above and beyond to make my visit memorable -They even helped me charge my phone while I enjoyed my meal. Ms. Valeska's friendly and warm attention made me feel welcome right away. I can't wait to come back!
Great food and even better drinks! Staff was helpful and friendly. Definitely was happy with my overall experience.
Sat at the bar... Wonderful bartender who was very friendly and energetic. Made excellent martinis. Had clam chowder, which was possibly the best I've had in CT... (I grew up on the north shore of MA , where clam chowder is a religion). Seared albacore tuna special entree was unusual and delicious
The right pub at the right price. Bartender pours an excellent pint of Guinness...like being back in Ireland. The reuben makes me ashamed that I have made compliments about those from other places. The regulars treated me like I was one of them. A port and cheesecake to finish the night.
I had a great time at Hurley’s Restaurant & Bar on West 48th Street and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a lively Irish-style pub experience right in the heart of NYC’s Theater District. The location is perfect — just steps from Broadway theaters, Times Square, and plenty of nightlife — so it’s an ideal spot for a pre-show meal, casual dinner, or drinks after a long day of sightseeing. Walking in, you immediately feel the classic pub vibe. The space is big and welcoming with multiple levels, plenty of seating and tables, a full-service bar, and lots of TVs showing sports. There’s a casual, friendly atmosphere whether you’re at the bar with friends, at a table for dinner, or just grabbing a pint. The staff were welcoming and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable — they seemed to genuinely care about serving guests well. The drink selection is strong, and the bartenders know their stuff. From pints of beer to specialty cocktails, everything we ordered was served just right. The Hot Bourbon Cider special was a standout — perfect if you’re visiting in cooler weather and want something warm and comforting in your hands. Food at Hurley’s was satisfying and hit the spot. The menu leans toward classic pub fare and comfort food, with juicy burgers, crispy wings, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and plenty of snacks and appetizers. We tried the extra-crispy buffalo wings and they were hot, flavorful and cooked exactly as requested — a rare find for wings. Portions are generous, which is great when you’re eating after a show or with a group. Prices are fair for the neighborhood, though be aware that some guests have noted a standard 20 % gratuity is added to the bill automatically. What I appreciated most was the lively, relaxed environment that makes Hurley’s feel like a living, breathing part of the city rather than just another tourist stop. Locals and visitors mix easily here, and it never felt stuffy or pretentious. It’s the kind of place where you can stay for a couple of drinks, enjoy your meal, and unwind without feeling rushed. Of course, no place is perfect. Some visitors have mentioned occasional service hiccups and higher prices on receipts, so it’s worth double-checking your bill. But for the majority of guests — myself included — the experience was fun, tasty, and memorable. Overall, Hurley’s delivers a warm, classic pub experience with solid food and drink, friendly staff, and a buzzing atmosphere. If you’re in Midtown and want a great place to relax before or after a show, this is a spot worth stopping at.
The BEST bar in NYC, drinks were good, music was great, and our bartender Juan was amazing!! He made our experience so much more memorable! Def recommend and will def be returning.
Excellent food and staff! They have HUGE hamburgers that are so juicy! Fries are cooked perfectly. They cater to those with food allergies (I have both egg and milk), so don't be afraid to ask. Definitely would go back.
My wife and I had reservations for dinner Sunday. As most people know by now, NYC had a big snow storm. We didn’t pay attention to our emails and we received a message they would be closing down for the day. When we arrived, all the lights were out. The bad news is we weren’t having Italian... but the good news is we stumbled upon Hurley's Restaurant & Bar. What a great place!! The moment we walked through the door we received the warmest welcome from the bartender, Alicia. She was friendly, cheerful & spot-on with food recommendations. My wife had Blackened fish tacos and I had Shepard pie, both were exceptional. We will definitely be back again... what a great find!! Thank you Alicia!!
We just arrived in town and wanted a quick bite before resting. Our hotel recommended Hurleys which is next door. It is a Very nice Irish pub. It was a little loud at first but our server was so gracious she took us to a more quiet spot and made some great recommendations for food and drinks. The Rueben was great, the service was even better. Alicia is very outgoing, accommodating and engaging. We are coming back tomorrow to checkout the Shepard pie. A great start to our vacation.
Overall, we really enjoyed our time at this bar. We attended for the VIP ball drop escort, which did not go well, but after talking with the manager and looking into it further, it was clear that this was not Hurley’s responsibility and was handled by an outside company. Everything at the bar itself was great—the food and drinks were excellent. The bathrooms were clean, and the staff were welcoming and attentive.
A great experience AT this bar. We came for the vip ball drop escort - which the escort was a nightmare- but after further research and talking to the manager, Hurley’s had nothing to do with this! That is on the ball drop company. The drinks and food here were great, bathrooms were clean and staff was very friendly!
Needed a bar to host a big group and Paul hooked us up with a great area! The bar itself was spacious with a great sound system and reasonably-priced drinks. A midtown gem - we’ll be back for sure!
Hurleys Saloon 232 West 48th Street My family and I meet every year in New York to catch dinner and a show during the holidays. We wanted a quick bite before our show. Our hotel recommended Hurleys. It was a weekend and very busy. What a great experience. Our servers Alicia and Mo were so wonderful. Outgoing, fast and got us to our show on time. We enjoyed it so much that we came back after the show for dessert and we were lucky enough to see Alicia again. Good food, excellent service. She was fun, professional, and always reflecting a supreme attitude. I'd come back again just to see her.
Epic! Came to NYC to meet my kid for ComiCon and wandered into this place. The bartender was awesome and the people friendly. Great food and an awesome selection of beers. I'll make the trip back just to hang out here. Just a " stones throw " from Times Square too!
Update 11/24/23… This places never fails me! The service was A1, food was FRESH and delicious and I can’t stop talking about this place! We ran across this amazing restaurant walking from Times Square. The service 5 star and food was delicious! The bathrooms was clean & downstairs they have a bar. We will defiantly return!
A very nice restaurant. The restaurant has two floors. Upstairs there is seating that is suitable for a couple looking for a romantic atmosphere. There is also seating outside the restaurant. We had dinner in the restaurant. A varied menu and delicious food. A large restaurant and plenty of space in the restaurant with a view of the sea. The customer service is high. Very nice and kind waiters. Our menu included an appetizer, a main course and an appetizer. In general, the food was delicious and the portions were fine.
A nice surprise! Hurley's Saloon provides both a nice pub atmosphere with full bar on first level, and a restaurant on 2nd floor. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with courteous, friendly, and attentive staff! Their meal options offer something for everyone, and you will not leave there hungry! Located at 232 W. 48th Street New York City, New York. Stop in you'll be glad you did!!
Everything was great at Hurleys. We only ordered appetizers, which I thought tasted average except good wings
Cool bar slap bang in the heart of theatre district very close to Times Square Plenty of beer options on, US, local beers and European Wheelchair accessible across the venue Friendly staff, happy to advise on the local beers Lots of TV's all showing sport on our visit (college football) which was good Local ticket booking company work out of the corner of the bar, which is useful Go you won't be disappointed!
Good option to watch sports in midtown. Good and quick service despite the bar being crowded. Plenty of screens to have a decent view. Only downside is that it gets really hot in the back of the bar. No proper Ac and the fan on the floor didn’t bring enough relief. The spots in the front don’t have this issue.
Downstairs is your more traditional Irish Pub atmosphere and upstairs is a more traditional restaurant. Nice menu with a good variety of choices. Great spot for a pre theater meal. Attentive servers. Didn’t rush us but at the same time everything was served timely.
We went here Monday night before going to Mamma Mia. It was about 6:30 and not crowded. We got right in. They sat us in a small booth by the front door. I guess it is the only wheelchair accessible seat. So we were kind of out of the way. The food was kind of the typical pub fare. It was good. It was reasonably priced. I thought my burger was a good burger. My daughter liked her pasta.
Had a fantastic lunch at Hurley's Saloon today! I ordered the Southwest Chicken Salad and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned with just the right kick. The bartender was super friendly, adding to the great atmosphere. The place itself is well-suited for large gatherings, with multiple floors and plenty of TVs to catch up on sports or news. Definitely a top spot in NYC for both drinks and dining!
Very friendly bartenders. My wife and I visited two consecutive evenings and we're very happy. There are not many vegetarian options to chose from and the cocktails are kind of sweet. I chose to go for the single malt and vodka for my wife. They do have outdoor seating also which closes sooner than the restaurant.
To start off my stue was very nice the meat was tender very expensive at $19 or £15 GBP. 2 butgers ware under cooked (raw) Put my sister off her food. stake and chip's not very well presented with out salad . not good value for money. With a bill for 4 at $133 or £105 GBP beware they put a 20% on the bill for tips. It, s the most expensive meal we have ever had to pay for
What was good was the quick delivery of the food and the prices in line with the area. It could be an option for a quick bite, if you are in the area. The food was ok. But I wouldn’t go back a second time.
Extremely busy at times. Fingers food is ok, mozzarella cheese can taste like plastic. The innermost end of the bar can get very hot and stuffy. Plus is the bar is quite spacious
Bar was nice, service was pretty good but the food was ok and drinks were expensive. I guess that's why I advoid Manhattan whenever possible.
The best part about this place is the cozy feel and the old wooden booths. The food was underwhelming and all of the staff kept asking us questions and then walking away before we answered them (?!). Very strange and frustrating experience.
Staff was very friendly. Like the pub atmosphere. I had a cod dish that felt like a reheated frozen meal. Edible, but, not impressive.
The food and service were average. The place is conveniently located by several theaters. We had the spinach dip, which was lacking flavor and a bit runny, and the Mac and cheese bites, which were good.
Most of the food was decent, but the Hanger Steak Au Poivre was just a Hanger Steak. There was no cream peppercorn sauce. Basic misrepresentation on their dinner menu. Does the chef not know what ‘au Poivre’ means? For what it was it was a basic, nothing fancy hanger steak, but I was disappointed. Perhaps if I had known it was going to be a basic hanger steak I would have rated it higher.
The good, beautiful restaurant. It has a really nice atmosphere. It's conveniently located in the center of the action. The okay, the service. It's not good, it's not terrible. We had to find the waitress to report an issue. She never offered a refill. But she was nice, not rude, just not very attentive. The food, unfortunately, is the main letdown. Typical tourist area food, cost twice as much while being half as good. It wasn't terrible, just no flavor, not even salt. TBH, I don't think there are any terribly good restaurants in the immediate area. It's your usual tourist area grub.
We had dinner here, and overall, it was disappointing. The food was dry, and despite requesting no tomatoes in a wrap, it arrived loaded with them. I also asked for buffalo wings as part of the platter, but instead, the wings came separately as a completely unordered side. To make things worse, the pasta was dry, and they were out of the veggie burger I had originally wanted. Our server, Alicia, got nearly the entire order wrong and barely checked on us throughout the meal. To top it off, we were automatically charged an $11 gratuity, which felt excessive given the poor service. As a former waitress, I believe tipping should reflect the level of service provided, and in this case, I would have left far less. On a positive note, the atmosphere was great, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the disappointing food and service.
I appreciated the care while extracting my Guinness that came perfect… however, the chicken fingers and the mozzarella fried sticks were not that great. But the worst was the inclusion of 20% tip without asking if we wanted to tip 20%, or even if we wanted to tip at all… touristic trap? It seems, unfortunately. I did not like, again, the positive was the Guinness, the rest could be forgotten… not sure if I will come back…
I was very disappointed when visiting this establishment last night. The waiter was very abrupt almost on the point of rudeness, drinks listed on the menu were not available and the only zero sugar drink was diet coke, the Irish stew tasted like it had been opened from cans, the fries were overcooked and hard. The sole was very tasty and the music played was enjoyable. Personally, I did not think the mandatory tip was deserved.
*This is an outdoor dining review* I was only able to order an appetizer because by the time that got to me I was frozen solid. I ordered the buffalo wings because they looked so appealing as I was walking by. I noticed there were about 4 heaters so I went against my better judgement and tried this place out. Well those heaters were most definitely there for show because you couldn't even feel faint heat. There were people so cold and red in the face trying to patiently wait for their food or drinks I ordered a margarita and it never got to my table so I won't have a review of how that taste today. Sorry. It also took my wings so long to come about 20 minutes imagine sitting in the cold waiting for wings yes wings. The wings are as good as they look the first 2 were hot and delicious the other 10 were ice cold but what did I expect dining in 45 degree weather. I would not be dining with Hurleys again for the simple fact that I did not feel welcomed and the staff stayed indoors most of the time and didn't check on the freezing guest as often as they should.
Honestly, such a disappointment. We were looking for cozy, quality food and unfortunately, this was not the place. We ordered spinach & artichoke dip which turned out like soup. My husband had the burger and fries which were according to him “the worst he’s ever had.” Upon learning that the fish & chips were frozen, I played it safe and ordered the Caesar salad. I didn’t know you could mess that up but apparently anything is possible. That was the first time I ever saw a Caesar salad with tomatoes instead of croutons. Don’t get me started on the Guinness which was not served in a pint class. We attempted dessert to make up for the disheartening meal only to find out that our sweet tooth would not be satisfied that evening. Both the chocolate mousse cake and cheesecake had the semblance of being prepared last Christmas. And I dont mean 2024.
Useless! Paid for guaranteed ball drop for new year and they didn’t escort! Total waste of money and time
Ended up having to file a fraud report through my bank account because these people never reimbursed me like they said they would. I came in with a group of friends, paid for my food and the waitress accidentally got the bill mixed up.. turns out she charged for my food along with someone else’s. I asked if this was the case, the waitress said no. When I saw the issue on my account - I came in to ask for a reimbursement. The manager literally said, “Why don’t you just get something here, the funds will take a long time to get to you”. I insisted I get the funds - he walks away… and still nothing. The thing is - I knew from his body language the manager wasn’t going to do it…
I hardly ever feel compelled to review however , this place….. front door wait staff unprofessional and not helpful at all. All I wanted was a burger. Bun was greasy. The oil used in their sauce tasted rancid. Fries were also rancid tasting. I ate the meat and threw everything else away. For the 25$. Pretty expensive half pound of meat.
Absolutely awful!!! Food tastes like frozen cafeteria or hospital food. I’m not exaggerating. Service was horrible despite it being super slow. Overpriced and mediocre at best. Supposed to be an Irish Pub yet blasted horrible county western music the entire time.
Went there last week with 2 friends of mine and everything was perfect now tonight I showed up and the bartender matt was incredibly rude and racist towards my husband. He acted fine with me when I spoke the minute my husband open his mouth matt had an attitude and tried to ignore him. I also had a friend who showed up and asked for a water to take as a to go drink and instead of acknowledging he completely ignored and I even said to put it on my tab and matt tried to say they didnt do to go waters. Now keep in my mind my husband is benagli and my friend was Latino. But yet Im white and everything was fine... make it make sense. Absolutely horrible he was not as polite and he made himself last week. As someone who works as a host in a restaurant im absolutely disappointed. Won't be seeing him again.
Normally I don't like leaving bad reviews without something redeeming, but my partner and I are absolutely bewildered at this place having 4.3 stars. We got an old fashioned, chicken fingers, the hummus plate, and the spinach and artichoke dip, and everything was frankly terrible. The old fashioned was so bad she didn't finish it. Regarding the spinach dip plate, the dip itself was so watery it was practically a soup and had very little flavor, the pita bread was flavorless, and the carrots were mushy and wilty. My chicken tenders plate had some of the worst honey mustard I've ever had, and three of the six pieces of chicken had large gristly chunks in them. The hummus plate would have been the only tolerable option, except it had a long hair wound through it that was neither mine nor my wife's, and the veggies were also mushy and sad. We ended up paying $65 for a meal so bad we only ate about 40% of it. I will not be coming back and would absolutely not recommend it to anyone.
We were upstairs, literally sitting in the main walkway. We were never offered any drinks except water, the steaks where ordered medium they arrived overcooked and dry, we needed A1 to force them down. We had show tickets so no time to complain. Every other table which we were with had their dessert, we had to ask multiple times. The service was terrible, the staff would look at you like they didn’t understand English. Worst choice ever for dining in NYC.
Dropped in with my Mrs just after 8pm Friday 31st Oct 2025. We settled at long bar where others were sitting (good bar). We waited and after 10 mins barman came round from other side of bar and said could we all ‘pop round to the other side as this side was closed’ much to surprise off 10 various people sitting there. We went round as instructed as we just wanted a drink and waited another 8 or 9 minutes while the barman stayed at the other side doing who knows what??? Politely suggest he is: a) Given extensive bar man training and mentored and assessed or b) Taught how to engage any vestiges of organisational and/or personality skills or C) Is relegated to emptying bins and replacing toilet roll and an actual barman is employed. Regards.
Easily one of the worst bar experiences I’ve had — anywhere. Bartender couldn’t crack a smile if his life depended on it. Poured two beers like he was punishing the glass. Zero professionalism, zero effort, zero pride. This place survives off location, not quality. If you’re after overpriced drinks and service colder than an ex’s heart, you’ve found it. Absolute bin fire of a saloon. Avoid.
