Fast and attentive service and delicious food! Love their lunch special.
We came in a little late for sit down but they seated us anyways. We ordered a lot and was delighted and was amazing how nice and warm they were.
This is my go to local sushi spot. Everything tastes super fresh and the service is great. I usually order the three roll lunch special - eel avocado, salmon avocado and spicy salmon (50c extra for crunchy), with miso soup. It never disappoints, whether I sit in or order out. The only slight bit of constructive feedback I have is that the restaurant itself isn’t the greatest in terms of decor. But the food and staff are amazing.
The sushi is delicious, the sashimi is excellent, and the shrimp tempura is very good. I highly recommend this place!
I thought this place was great. Good prices and the sushi tasted great. I got takeout so didn’t interact with the staff much, but they were very nice when I came to pick it up. A bit surprised by some of the negative reviews.

food was good! service was good! i’m so full. miso soup was good which is always a good sign. i thoroughly enjoyed the suma roll (i think that’s what it’s called)

I have been getting food here (mostly sushi) weekly since 2019 for my very elderly Japanese grandmother. She is very particular about the sushi she eats, and she always enjoys the sushi here. Plus she has never gotten food poisoning, which is utterly important for someone as elderly as her, and which is why we continue to order from here weekly. The prices are extremely fair, and the staff are always super friendly and accommodating, which is always such a pleasure :)
Very reliable and fast with high quality ingredients, have become a go-to take out lunch spot for me. Their non-sushi food is as good as their sushi too, which is not typical for this kind of place. Great lunch specials as well.
The shrimp tempura roll was amazing and the salmon was fresh. So fresh in fact I saw them slice the whole salmon into fillets. The owner is very nice, although he doesn’t speak the best English he was very friendly. When I ordered through the phone for pickup the costumer service was amazing and courteous. I highly recommend ordering through the phone instead of online platforms.
Their lunch special is great and affordable. Their miso soup is delicious. And no kidding, they continuously deliver my order in under 15 minutes. No other sushi spot in the neighborhood compares!
For years this has been our go-to place for the very best fresh sushi. Now in the time of covid, we always order takeout or delivery, but the hole-in-the-wall is cozy for eat-in. The rice is perfection, the fish portions large, and the seaweed salad redolent of salt spray and shore winds. The staff are friendly and will gladly take your phone order!
It was a serendipitous turn of events - I received a menu in the mail yesterday, I had a $25 coupon from Seamless...and today I was ravenous for Japanese food. That stated, I ordered from Suma Sushi. I had the Yaki Nasu (grilled egglant), the Hijiki salad, eel avocado roll, crunchy salmon roll and yellowtail with scallion roll - all made with brown rice. They were all delish. I would have posted a pic, but it's all gone! The rice to fish ratio is generous - as in there is not an overstuffed amount of rice as at some restaurants. The delivery came on time and the delivery person was kind and courteous. I will be back.
Not only was the server incredibly hospitable, fast service, genuinely welcoming and kind and happy to attend to us in every way, but they stayed open 20 minutes late so my boyfriend and I could finish our delicious date night meal (we didn’t mean to go over but ended up ordering a lot and when we walked in with questionable time before close we made sure it was ok we ate in — server kept telling us to relax and enjoy, was so lovely). Food is so consistently good, I regularly order from here!
This place has good quality sushi for a good price. I come here for takeout often, and the rolls always hit. The place itself is super tiny but I do dine in here sometimes and it’s nice. Just not for big groups of course. It’s a really solid go to option for me.

I’ve tried sushi in a lot of places, and this one definitely ranks among the best. Not "the best", but definitely up there. Overall, I’d recommend it. Thanks!

The food was okay, edible but bland. Went for the lunch specials and were limited for choices in comparison to other sushi restaurants. I was able to switch avocado for cucumber in the tuna avocado roll but still wish the choices were more varied as a whole. The California roll was just crab and avocado. The spicy tuna and salmon had no crunch. Server was friendly, prompt, and refilled water glasses as needed. I would not eat here again as choices are plentiful in the area.

Poor Customer Service & Deceptive Advertising. Don't be fooled by their prices online. They are cheaper online by $3-$4 than in the store. When I mentioned this to the worker he said "Yeah, ok." & rang me up at the more expensive price. He then showed me the takeout menu with the more expensive prices & said the website hadn't been updated yet. I was dumbfounded. No apologies, no concession on the price of that particular order, no discount on my next order, NOTHING. Just poor customer service & a $14 lunch instead of a $10 lunch. The sushi is pretty decent which is why there are 2 stars instead of 0.
I've had sushi from many places this is by far the worse. The sushi rolls were coming apart ,the rice taste old and soggy, the avocado was turning brown and the salmon far from fresh. The taste and presentation was so disrespectful. My son loves sushi and he didnt even eat half of it.When I was ordering the host was telling me how 6 pieces come in one tray..what for idk. Point is if you know your sushi don't order from here you will be dissapointed.First and last time trying this place. Its closer to my apt so I thought I'd give it a try. Threw some away but picked out three from the trash for exhibition.Kouzan between 94th and 95th street has great sushi for similar price and they wont dissapoint.

We have ordered here every week for a while. Initially the quality was 3-4 stars. Better than a place closer to us that now has closed. Over time, however, the sushi and roll quality became very variable and ultimately has gone steadily downhill for the last few weeks. Salmon quality in rolls is low. Rolls have rice on some sides but not others and are malformed. Avocado has brown spots. We have called to express concern and/or complain and they are blithely unconcerned. Oh well. The search for a new sushi place to order from begins.
Got takeout and the sushi was tasteless and low quality. I got the spider roll and spicy scallop roll. Gyoza was soggy and tasteless. One star because my food arrived on time and the seaweed salad was decent. Would not order from here again.
hard to find somewhere so bad dk how they survived for so long. everything is like straight out of h-mart package and put in a bowl. I cant believe i paid 10+ dollars for ramen that's exactly instant noodle
