This place is a cozy and peaceful restaurant to dine at. The staff are friendly and welcoming- and very attentive. A patron helped us to hone in on our selections. There’s so much to choose from! Our food portions were huge and it was delicious. I could taste the real, quality ingredients used which I appreciated so much. If you’re in NYC this is a must go to place for Thai.

Wow wow wow add those two wonton (shrimp/chicken) in the lemongrass soup you won’t regret it. Start with tofu.

The interior caught my eye but the mouth watering noodles on the sign outside the entrance is what sold me. I love southeast Asian food and this place has delicious food. My friend and I ended up going two days in a row. The one thing I would be careful of is that the food definitely has a lot of sodium since I was dying of thirst for the rest of the day. Would go again though!

So many people recommended this place to me, and I’m glad I finally got to try it. The food and atmosphere are absolutely top notch. It’s not a very big spot (I sat on the first floor, not sure what the second floor looks like), but it feels cozy and welcoming. I ordered the Chiang Mai noodles and the Peking duck rolls—both were amazing. The Chiang Mai noodles are basically a milder version of the famous northern Thai curry noodles, Khao Soi. The broth was cooked to perfection, rich, balanced, and harmonious in flavor, with tender chicken that just fell apart. I’m originally from Northern Thailand, and I can honestly say I truly enjoyed Chai Kitchen’s version of Khao Soi. The Peking duck rolls were a delightful surprise. I didn’t expect to find such crispy, flavorful Peking duck in a Thai restaurant, but they nailed it. Highly recommend both dishes. On top of that, everyone at the restaurant was so nice and attentive. It really felt like authentic Thai hospitality.

Very beautiful atmosphere, friendly staffs that seated and served us. The thai flavors were very authentic, delicious and my friends' first time trying Thai cuisine loved it so much I'm so happy that the flavors were there. Would love to come back if I'm traveling to NY again!

Flavors are good, the atmosphere is modern. It’s a little tight, but it is New York City, the bathroom is funky with ceiling that has interesting artifacts. Cleaning supplies in full view on bathroom floor was odd, the rest of restaurant is meticulous clean modern design. Service is good

I worked in the area and used to come to this restaurant frequently before the pandemic. I really enjoyed the food, but the staff was what had me coming back. I remember exchanging pleasantries with the owner or manager every time. It was such an inviting restaurant. I was in the area yesterday and decided to stop in for lunch, and to my surprise, nothing changed. The food was still great, space was still beautiful and the staff were warm and welcoming. I didn’t see manager and don’t know if she’s still working there, but I’m definitely making an effort to return consistently. Thank you for your great food and hospitality. See you soon!

The food here was amazing. I loved the mango papaya salad, my salmon panag curry with lychee and my tofu pudding dessert. Some of the best Thai I’ve ever had

We were a group of 6 that made last minute reservations and had to sit upstairs. Even though the downstairs is more aesthetically appealing it did not bother us at all to sit upstairs as the food more than makes up for it. Everyone in our group loved what they ordered. I had the crying tiger marinated steak and it was tender and delicious. Friendly service as well!

We had a spontaneous visit to this restaurant. We were very positively surprised, even though we were no longer able to take advantage of the lunch special menu because offer shortly before 4 p.m. The food was very tasty and sufficient. We had the crispy duck with a delicious clear soup. For groups of 5 people or more, a tip of 20% is mandatory. But considering the total amount, the price is still fair. We had $25/person. Service was also very accommodating. A recommendation from us.

Great place and plenty of good food options. For appetizers got the spring roll, which was amazing, one of the best so far. Also got fried chicken wings, they were a bit chewy but nice. For the mains got Thai fried rice with chicken, very subtle and nice taste. Prices are reasonable as per the area, a great stop overall

A small restaurant that delivers big punches, Chai Thai Kitchen surprises you with authentic Thai homestyle cooking meals with an international twist. If you are looking to try some authentic Thai dishes, hurry to grab a table as seats are very limited. Nonetheless, the decor and atmosphere give it a calming and relaxing atmosphere. Even more so, the staff are all attentive, quickly assisting all patrons. Typically, people will order the Green Curry or the Red Curry. I ordered the Red Curry and it was delicious. While sweeter than expected, there was still a good balance between the coconut milk and the spices. The Thai Fried Rice is also a must-have. Similar to the curry, all the ingredients in the fried rice were at a perfect ratio. None of the ingredients were added in abundance over the other. Each ingredient's natural flavor was held together by the chef's sauce. So if you are ever hungry and are by the lower end of Central Park, or even having fun at the SPYSCAPE museum, swing by for some mouth-watering, authentic Thai food!

A hidden gem! Decided stop by for a solo dinner and this place did not disappoint. The flavors of everything were delightful and the drinks were a nice balance of strong but flavorful. Once you get inside, the ambiance is beautiful. The customer service was great and they checked on me throughout my meal, but also gave me space to enjoy my meal

Chai Thai Kitchen is a gem! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, especially the Tom Yum Goong, which was perfectly balanced and flavorful. The Green Papaya Salad, Sweet Corn and Shrimp Salad, and Spicy Grilled Beef Salad were fresh, vibrant, and delicious. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with authentic Thai flavors.

my friend kenny and i ordered three chicken dishes today and were disappointed. the portion size was fair, but all of the chicken items had a strange “pork-like” taste. the interior is beautiful and the staff are extremely helpful, but the flavor issue suggests they might be cooking all their meats in the same oil. that taste alone cost them two stars.

Wanted to go here because of good reviews but totally disappointed. Went in for lunch, when called to check for availability the staff was very rude. Walked in there were tables available, for Saturday afternoon there was no rush. Upstairs was closed off and downstairs the sitting was very compact. The server didn't come to the table unless we called out. Coming to food it was just looking nice but taste wise just average. Ordered shrimp dumplings, chicken satay which was way too soft and chewy. Penang curry was good but drunken noodles were overcooked and had gone soggy by the time we could finish our portion. Thai iced tea was the only highlight of the lunch to be honest. Won't be coming back.

Thai spot chef from Columbia This place was literally rushing us to order just a hour before closing the jasmine tea just taste watery SWEET CORN FRITTer $12 wasn’t cooked fully also the KHI MAO 🌶️🌶️ – $18 was just like kid size meal on the plate also really salty IMPERIAL SALAD 🌶️ – $16 Shredded green papaya, apple, mango, and sprouts tossed in a chili garlic lime dressing. Topped with rice crisps and peanuts tasted really raw … this place is definitely a would not recommend as I will not be returning also the Jasmine tea is 4$ Really small and tight place not good idea for a date service wasn’t good everything came out flying not even a break between the salad an entrée

I am not one to complain usually, but I really miss whoever owned this before when it was called Chai Thai, when it was fresh and clean ingredients. What it has turned into is greasy, tourist trap, msg filled food. I asked for my check with my plate looking like this, they asked if I wanted a box, I said no, you would think that would just concern them just a tad. But nah. I would have been happy to speak to someone there but if you don't care about why your customer didn't finish their meal or take a box home, I think that's on you. Pictured, my uneaten food that I didn't get in a box to go. *oil stains on the side of plate courtesy of putting MSG in your food without saying it is in your food*
