My friend recommended this place to me so I decided to give it a try. I heard the owners remodeled this place and they had a whole new menu. I am so glad that I came by to give this spot a try. I love the yellow esthetic colors of the restaurant and yellow decorated ambiance! It makes you happy and is so welcoming! I ordered the combo meal to go and got a side of cauliflower, two salads and a half a chicken. The prices are very affordable and you have enough food to feed at least 3-4 people! In this economy I will gladly take it! The chicken was super moist and well seasoned! I was super happy that the chicken was hitting. The salads were huge and very filling with the dinosaur kale and romaine lettuce. I wished the portion size of the dressings were bigger because I like my salads on my saucier side, but next time I can get extra dressing! Overall I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to eat on the healthier side, but not spending a fortune to do it! I will for sure be back soon! Bangin’ salads, juicy chicken, hot fries. Though different than the original Daytrip, Daytrip Counter offers fully loaded salads, rotisserie chicken, natty wine, fries and more. We ordered the basil caesar salad and the crispy spicy bowl, both offering tons of flavor, texture and crunch. For the sides we got an order of the Caesar fries, which were seasoned to perfection, and the brothy gigante beans (pretty much chicken broth soup with huge beans lol). Didn’t order the rotisserie chicken this time but last time I had it, I paired it with the Thai chili and lime butter and i felt like it would have been perfect with a side of white rice. Nonetheless, glad Daytrip is back, though in a new fashion!
Have always loved the food at Day Trip in its various incarnations. Now, as DayTrip Counter, it’s serving up delicious rotisserie chicken, salads and sides. For lunch we shared (2 of us) combo #1: half chicken, salad or bowl, side and sauce. We got the Club Med salad, the sesame cauliflower side, and Thai chili lime butter for the sauce. Everything was delish, and for lunch you can get a booth! Generous portions. Organic and healthy.
The chicken in Schmaltz sauce is through the roof great! Some of the best roasted chicken in the Bay Area. The salads are wonderful and the sesame salted cookies stand out as amongst the best desserts ever. Don’t miss this place. It’s both wonderful for grown-ups and for kids.
I think about Daytrip so often. I was so sad when V1 closed but damn, this iteration is really hitting exactly what I wanted. The chicken is OBVI great, but the salads… THE SALADS! I’ve had all of them. I love all of them. The caesar is my #1 half of the time/ crispy spicy the other half. don’t sleep on the cookie. i could eat that cookie every day until I die.
Excellent roasted chicken, sides, and sauces. The salad was next level. Good value for the quality of food.

Yooooo! That chicken was freakin delicious. And that salad! And those beans! And that cauliflower (though I think it's supposed to come with tahini on it... I had ordered some so I put it on)! And the combo is an affordable meal for two or three people! Damn I'm impressed.
Excellent all around. They deliver innovative, delicious local food, and clearly believe in, and achieve excellence in their dishes. Well-seasoned fries, (actually) juicy rotisserie chicken, and salads that feel well thought through. Sensational. This is my new go-to
I almost don't want to review this place because sometimes you just want to keep a hidden gem a hidden gem, but I have to give it its props. I had a really wonderful experience at this spot! The ambiance is incredible, the playlist that was going was great. The food was reasonably priced and came out quickly and was delicious! The service was really polite as well. 10/10, will be coming back
Few spots nail it like Daytrip Counter have with classic fare: juicy chicken, tasty salads and even soft serve (with rosemary olive oil drizzle 😮💨) I was so excited to finish my meal because it meant I could plan my next one asap!! Such a delicious meal with a fun atmosphere!
The very best rotisserie chicken, with unique flavors, super juicy, flavorful, países by delicious Parmesan parsley fries, salty honey lemonade and olive oil vanilla salty Strauss serve!! Unbelievable flavors start to end!!
The combo meal is the way to go. I didn't love the shredded chicken on the salad, but whole with smaltz and sauces (chili lime butter and two herb pesto) it was delicious and I got to pair it with the crispy spicy salad which is full of flavor, the roasted cauliflower (also well spiced) and the herbed quinoa. Delicious takeout to end the long weekend/our staycation.
Came in expecting just a regular ole salad experience, but left impressed with the selection. The Club Med salad was delicious and well dressed, and the rotisserie chicken was extremely tender and juicy. Will definitely be coming back, for both the food and the atmosphere.
I am still dreaming about the crispy spicy bowl and those french fries… my god. It was all flawless. We loved the original Daytrip but this spot still has all the best qualities of the OG, namely the delicious food. The price point is GREAT for how much food you get, and definitely don’t skip dessert. We will be back!
Went to the Daytrip counter when my housemates' parents were in town, and I was blown away! I had always wanted to go to the OG DayTrip, but never made it. I was so sad to hear they were closing, but so happy to hear they re-opened! We got the Chicken with 3 herb pesto, which was so GOOD and moist to share! It says brined, but I wonder if they poach it?? I am GF, so I couldn't eat the hot honey green beans or Caesar salad, but I had the hot Caesar fries and they were delicious! Everything is customizable, and I'm grateful they were quick to name what was GF and what could be made that way, which is almost everything. I ordered the club med with quinoa, and it was delicious! Very creamy, with nice flavours, and I felt like a sizeable amount. I really love just great salads and great chicken, and the food came out fast, hot, and was great! I am dreaming about going back.
Finally got to try this spot and yall, the chicken and schmaltz sauce is a revelation. The fries are not overhyped by the reviews, they really are that good! The cilantro lime crunch salad was the perfect compliment. Oh and the service was friendly and out of this world, like, gosh it’s just so nice to be well taken care of. I dined in with their cute yellow plates and comfy chairs but I also took a whole bird home for dinner and it reheated well! Kids devoured it and asked for more the next day. And at home I put it over rice bc that’s honestly how I really want to eat rotisserie chicken!
I love daytrip counter. I loved this place when it was just daytrip. The salads are fresh, delicious, and massive. I probably eat here 2-3 times a month. Also this is my formal request to bring back the celery salad. Please and Thank you
Fabulous salads/bowls (we had the caesar and med + chicken). Great wine at an awesome price $10-$11/glass. Super friendly staff and great vibes. Definitely recommend

This place is my favorite restaurant! My husband took me for our anniversary. I’m so lucky. We split the chicken with Caesar aioli and three herb pesto sauces. Safe to say I will be coming back for our next date night!
Chicken was tasty but barely lukewarm. I prefer it close to hot. The “extra crispy” fries were not, and were a bit over-seasoned. The Caesar salad was so-so. Soft serve was great. I really miss the original Daytrip. This version is a big step down.

I ordered the Combo #1: half bird, the crispy spicy salad, herby quinoa, umami egg, two herb pesto sauce. I am not impressed. The "half chicken" is the smallest portion of half a chicken I've ever encountered. Incredibly skimpy for what is priced at $18. It also came out cold and I sent it back to be heated. Not good start. The salad was fine. The quinoa was cold. Would be nice to warm the quinoa. It is unpleasant cold, especially at night and in winter. Pesto sauce tasted really good. Umami egg was overcooked and mealy. Not good. What was good are the cushioned seats! And cute. HOWEVER, this food gave me diarrhea and I would like a refund because of that. I took half of the meal to go and did not eat it because of the reaction it caused in my body. Please get in touch with me to organize a refund.
