Not closed as of 16.1.24. nice American style diner with solid offerings. Good pancakes, very tasty omelette and biscuit. Only downside was no gravy available. Attentarive service. Kept my wallet when I lost it. So no complaints here.
Really cool little spot up on the corner of Park and Glenfield. Had breakfast there on a weekday morning and there was no wait, and found parking! Breakfast was solid and pretty quick. The if is all tried different breakfasts and they were all fresh and great tasting. Service was friendly and quick, coffee was excellent. Tiny bathroom however it was clean. Would definitely try again and would recommend.
First time for my family for a weekend brunch. Foods and Services was great. Will take family back again. Price was reasonable.
Def your classic Glenview neighborhood breakfast and lunch joint! The owners are always so super authentic and friendly. They make sure you have everything you need. They address you by your first name and which I think is a game changer. If I ever ran a cafe, this is how I’d want to follow suit!
The owners displayed excellent Food customer service. This was our 2nd time visiting the restaurant. 1st great food service 2nd time⏲️ better expectations. (Personalized service same table)

The Diggery Inn is great. I love this breakfast and lunch spot. I have been coming here for 18 years. I always get one of their hearty scramble plates when I come for breakfast. They have great burgers here too. The meals are all good sized portions. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a family owned restaurant with Paula on the grill and Nary out front waiting on customers. They are great people and very friendly. I Highly recommend the Diggery Inn.
Pancakes amazing everything else pretty dang good
One of the best spots for waffles and linguica (or however you spell it). I've also gotten a salad here and it was amazing which fresh hard boiled eggs. Kevin Durant ate here which is nice to know he supports the local scene. I think its family owned, not sure. My mom use to bring me here when I was little. Not sure how that helps with the review but glad to know its still there
I've had the sheer pleasure of being a patron of the Diggery Inn at 4212 Park Blvd in Oakland for a memorable span of over 16 years. It's astounding to declare, but in all that time, I've never had a meal that was anything less than perfect. The magic of the Diggery Inn's food is truly in the details. The Inn's commitment to freshness is evident - from the fruit cut right in front of you to the baked fresh biscuits daily. Something incredibly satisfying about the crunch of a freshly cut apple or the warmth of a just-baked biscuit enhances the dining experience to an altogether different level. Their culinary creations blend innovation with a comforting familiarity, representing the perfect equilibrium the Inn has masterfully achieved. This stalwart of the Oakland food scene never ceases to surprise and delight, journeying through the avenues of taste and coming back with something exciting each time. However, it is not just the food that makes Diggery Inn so special, but the phenomenal staff. The ladies at the Inn are nothing short of extraordinary. Their genuine hospitality and caring service add a whole new layer of warmth to the experience. Over time, we've moved from being just staff and customers to resembling something more like a family. Coming to Diggery Inn feels less like dining out and more like returning home. The inviting ambiance, the stellar food, and the unparalleled service provided by a team that genuinely cares about your experience make each visit an absolute joy. Over the past 16 years, the Diggery Inn has become more than a restaurant to me. It's a cherished part of my community, a fond extension of my family, and a consistent source of culinary joy. The Diggery Inn is a beacon of genuine warmth and authenticity in a world that can often feel rushed and impersonal. So, here's a toast to the Diggery Inn - for setting the bar high, fostering this wonderful community, and always shining in the hospitality domain. I eagerly look forward to many more years of shared laughter, phenomenal meals, and enriching experiences with you. Long may you continue to serve, inspire, and delight. Highly recommended! An authentic 5-star experience!
If I could give 10 stars I would, for this friendly local restaurant that provides delicious food. We traveled from Portland Oregon and are staying the weekend in a local AirBNB and happened upon this place because they were close and served breakfast. We returned the next morning because the food is good (especially enjoyed the huevos rancheros with a side of fresh fruit salad), and the staff is especially alert to details (for example a wobbly table that was fixed before we sat down). We learned that this is a family owned restaurant (where everyone who works there is related in some way) and they’ve been running the restaurant for over 25 years. This is truly a find.
One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. The Diggery Inn has everything you need for an amazing meal at a reasonable price. These hard working lady's provide a comfortable, inviting and friendly place to recharge and relax and refuel. Doug's Signature was my latest find on the menu. It includes Two Poached Eggs and Chorizo on Toast or English Muffin. Matt says check this place out!
Visited here with my family for breakfast around 9:30 a.m. We were seated right away and served coffee off the bat. Had a delicious salmon Benedict, my daughter had chocolate chip pancakes and my husband had blueberry pancakes. Everything was hot and fresh and delicious. We'll definitely be visiting again soon.
The Good: This place has excellent food! The tuna sandwich was phenomenal and the eggs benny were pretty good! The coffee is fresh, hot, and delicious. Service was quick, and the food came out exactly on time. The ambiance is pretty good, with decent decor and clean surfaces. The bad: The service is... mixed. The waitstaff are not very outgoing but that's hardly a concern. They do check to make sure things are in stock and that means a lot. The ugly: Breakfast ran $50 for 2, so it's not cheap eats. But for a special treat, totally worth it!

Solid neighborhood place, with all of your favorite brunch options done well, plus warm staff. We walzed right in at 10am on a Saturday and got a table for six with zero wait. I had the pastrami sandwich, which was quite juicy even with sauce on the side. Bathroom is pretty snug, but quite clean.

This place is aight. The portions are pretty good and the quality of the food is decent. The only problem I had was it took them a long time for them to bring out our food. Go check it out. You for sure get your money's worth.

A very convenient spot for a quick fill. A salad and a glass of white, just what I wanted. Street parking.

Long wait for a not that impressive sandwich. For a $14 turkey sandwich, would’ve expected a little more than turkey, cheese, bread. Maybe there’s other things on the menu and I just struck out. Staff seemed nice and kind, especially when it was clear they didn’t start making my pickup order until I arrived. With so many other spots in that corner, will try the rest before ever hankering to go back and give it another shot.
Very conflicted about this place. I like the vibe, location, interiors and the really solid breakfast fare. BUT... my partner ordered an omelet and was very disappointed when it came out more like a "scramble". Later, he even very politely tried to engage with them and gently described what a omelet was - "You know the thing where "you put stuff in the middle as it cooks and gently fold the eggs over to seal" ? the waitress replied, deadpanned: "Ohhhhh yeahhh......we don't do that." THEN DONT CALL IT AN OMELET!

Could be a great establishment…..but isn’t there yet. I ordered online 5/10/23. My order was supposed to be ready at 950am. I walked to the establishment while on my break just knowing that my order would be ready at the appropriated time. I walk into the establishment and inform the cashier that I’m here to pick up the mobile order that I’ve placed. Clerk asks…”mobile order?” Then she looks to find the order. “ oh give me 15 minutes” she says. Then while I’m waiting she comes over to inform me that I can’t have part of my order and I will have to accept a substitute because it’s not 11am yet. The online menu nor the app specified that French fries aren’t available before 11am. I even paid extra for it. Then two of the three women get into an altercation in the kitchen while preparing the food. My “home fries” are microwaved and still half cold, the 2 biscuits are kinda sorta semi warm, but no butter no jelly, etc, the “grilled chicken salad” has store bought lunch meat on it. I asked for cheese, that costs extra of course ( salad only comes with boiled egg avocado, and lettuce ). I was given distilled white vinegar, and honestly …I’m not sure this is olive oil that I was given for the salad. All I’m saying is I honestly feel cheated out of my $43.00 that I paid for an omelette and a salad. AFTER I DEDUCTED THE AUTOMATIC 10% FOR GRATUITY. I’m just saying……this could be a great place one day…….Just isn’t…..it……today is all. One last thing……someone needs to teach the staff how to make an “omelette”…….ummm what I was given was a scramble at best. But it definitely was NOT an omelette at ALL by ANY stretch of the imagination WHATSOEVER. They just threw ingredients in egg and stirred it up literally. For the prices they charge the service needs to come WAAAAAAAAY UP!!
