I love bagels in the morning and this has the bagels that hits the spot. Not just morning bagel but lunch. A diverse selection of bagels and other assortment of good food. Indoors and a mini patio outside. A nice spot for a quick grub.

I wanted to add to my review from 2019 to share my equally awesome experience with Vanessa and her team again in Nov 2020!! Just like last year, she was SO great to work with.... and even custom created a special bagel for our 35 gift bundles this year!! I can't say enough good about these folks. Great people and yummy bagels... and the best Shmear anywhere!! : ) This Review was from Nov 2019: We had a large order of 35 bundles, and were very specific about what we needed... and Vanessa and her team were AWESOME about accommodating all of our needs and the desired mix of bagel and cream cheese flavors, also adding napkins, knives, freezer bag, etc. PLUS... Vanessa went WAY above and beyond, touching base with me several times leading up to our pick-up, then actually putting bows in our desired colors on our "Thanksgiving bundles" for us, and having them all stacked and ready when we arrived. (She even texted me a pic that morning, letting me know my order was ready in a fun way. : ) Then, without hesitation, Vanessa added another bundle that we realized we needed at the last minute. Next, she and her team patiently accommodated our need to pay in specific small increments... AND THEN they cheerfully helped us load our cars with the bundles. They were all so great to work with, and you could really tell that Vanessa set the tone and had a great relationship with her employees! In addition to how she treated us, I saw her treat other customers with the same personal touch and caring service. I was very impressed. We had worked with the former manager Ash for more than 10 years on our annual bagel deliveries, and he had been great, and so I have to admit I was worried when he was gone that things might not go as well. But the new manager Vanessa met and EXCEEDED all our expectations!! We look forward to many more years of working with her!!!

The best plain bagels around. Light and airy inside yet perfectly chewy. I can eat them plain and usually do eat one plain and another toasted with garden cream cheese, although I have no reason eating two! Einstein’s recipe is off the chain. Waaay better than Bruegger’s. And Einstein’s bagels remain fresh longer.

I love Einstein’s and come here weekly, but this particular location usually takes 30-40 minutes to prepare one breakfast sandwich for me. Every single time they apologize, but it’s happened like 10 times now - every time I come here. So if you’re willing to wait for a breakfast sandwich for 40 minutes it’s great, but just keep that in mind. I’d come here a lot more if they were a little bit faster with service.

I missed bagels so much! Their iced coffee was average.

Wow! This place has really gone downhill. I used to frequent Einstein bagels but I have not been here in years. I was severely disappointed in the cleanliness and look of the store. I would not want to consume food in a place that looked like that. The young lady who took my order was extremely nice, she was very helpful and was smiling the whole time she served me. When I finally received my order it was prepared correctly. Other than that, I don't have anything good to say about this place. $5 for a bagel and cream cheese that took over 15 minutes to deliver when there was only two people in front of me is absolutely horrendous. The supervisor or manager on duty was sweaty and her hair was all over the place. Her shirt was untucked and she looked completely disheveled. The young man making the food moved at a snail's pace. Shirt also untucked and wiping his face while he's making my food. I mean he was wearing gloves but what good are they If you're going to touch your sweaty nose with them on? It will be many years before I come back and try this again.

So, I like Einstein Bagels. My boyfriend and I like a few sandwiches and their pizza 🥯 bagels. The garden veggie spread is amazing. Unfortunately I made an order online through the app to ensure I got my food ontime as I was on a lunch break. When I went in after the 10 minutes it said it would take , I was told they were out of my bagel of choice. I was fine with them changing the option to another available bagel. After another 5 minutes waiting I had another person come to me and say they didn't have any pizza sauce now. They offered to make me a different item, but I really didn't want to wait for anything else to be made. They refunded me. I had to head through a nearby drive through for alternate breakfast as my time was running out at that time. This was my second time in a row with issues. Hopefully they can figure it out. I love going to this location generally and I'll write it off as a one off situation.

Einstein Bros. bagels, like most chain restaurants are pretty consistent with the food and service. There’s not really much that could go wrong when ordering from a chain, because you know what to expect. So, expect that on busy days your order has a higher chance of being wrong, and you have to weigh the cost of getting back in line to have your order corrected, or just accepting that you didn’t get what you paid for and just move on.

I picked up 2 two dozen boxes of bagels. There were zero onion, everything, or blueberry bagels. But i did get to throw away five chocolate bagels, which wouldnt be an issue if i had received a good selection

Got a Turkey Bacon Avocado bagel and a Chicken Bacon Egg bagel to go... got home only to find both were missing the bacon 😭😭😭 Check your food before you go! They usually do a great job and have good bagels.

What's odd is that I've had a toasted cinnamon sugar bagel turn out *perfectly* before, so it must be possible! :)

I love Einstein bagels but this place does not have good food and they're painstakingly SLOW. The latte and mocha tasted bad and there was no difference, the avocado toast was bad. Really disappointed, never had such an experience in any of the other locations.

Really good, but slow as can be! Even if you order ahead and it says 15-20 I recommend order 30-35 mins ahead bc it will definitely not be ready on time. They are really slow! You are better off order your food in the line bc I just watched 4 people walk out with bagel sandwiches and my order ahead was put in 36 mins ago now. The service time is bad! Bagels are good though

This location is so frustratingly slow! I come here a lot before work because it’s the only one and the food is pretty tasty but every time, they test my patience. Today, I even ordered ahead online and half an hour later, a plain bagel with an egg, cheese, and sausage wasn’t ready. So I had the choice of having breakfast r being late to work so I walked out. Very disappointed…

Horrible mobile order service. We waited 25 minutes for our order while people who just walked in the door got served instantly. Bagels were squashed and had 1/4 the cream cheese as normal. We won't be back.

The slowest location. Rarely an order correct. Today it took over an hour for 3 bagels. There was a man who waited 55 minutes for one bagel and his pregnant wife was in the car. They turn their phone off so you can’t call to help ensure orders are made correctly (often an issue). Sadly, when we use DoorDash it defaults to this location and it doesn’t give me another option. By the way, I see the owner has responded to numerous customers in this review section. Ma’am or sir, please know we have issues every week since we moved to Carlsbad 11 months ago. I’m allergic to cheese, but yet 1/2 the time they put cheese on my bagel, even though it always indicates no cheese. Sometimes they send random bagels for my son’s part of the order. Ashley, the manager, now makes a poignant effort to take care of our order when we order on Sundays, which has helped. I had to order twice today just to get an order because it was taking an hour. I’m 52 years old. I’ve lived in California, New York, and Missouri. I have never seen a slower location, than this location in all my life. Locations with fewer employees are able to get meals out much much faster.

Comically bad customer experience. I saw there were a lot of people already waiting and I thought “these people are waiting for custom orders, I’ll just grab a few bagels and cream cheese and be out in no time”. I got my bag of bagels and cream cheese and waited to pay and after about 10 minutes I realized that more than half of the people (20+ groups) we’re also just waiting to pay. They took another five or so orders before helping people check out. Even once one staff started the process of checking people out it was pathetically slow. “Do you have a rewards number…that number doesn’t come up, do you have another number?…”. At that point I returned my cream cheese and left my bag of bagels on the display case.

Order was so wrong ordered a chocolate Blended coffee and was handed a pale drink by the guy in front and told it was chocolate even after double checking with him. Bagel was not toasted when asked and drink is not chocolate at all. This is not the first mistake I’ve had happen here.

Ordered pick up on the app twice from here, both times got incorrect orders. The first time I got a bagel with no shmear on it…. When it specified strawberry. This time i ordered an all nighter and a bagel w/ shmear and instead received 2 bagels with shmear instead and paid more for the breakfast sandwich I didn’t receive. TLDR: Went two times, both times the order was incorrect

Not a pleasant experience and all due to the employee who cashed me out, the young lady who helped me choose my bagels was friendly and helpful. I explained to her on my app that I receive a FREE coffee with purchase she said : no problem I'll help you at the register with that. Another employee walked up as I waited at the register and rang up my bagels I told her I have a FREE coffee as well, she was in a hurry and seemed frustrated about something even when she first walked up. I was digging for my wallet and didn't think about (I Usually scan my phone for my points or add my phone number) and she never asked me anything about points) After I left I realized She charged me for my FREE coffee and I never received my points She made it a NOT so pleasant experience.

The employees here are completely rude to dashers. I came in to pick up a door dash to which they told me someone already picked it up. When that happens that means someone stole the order. I told them that to which I was first ignored and than yelled at and told to leave in front of everyone. They told me it's not their problem if people come in and steal orders and are told by management not to care. Every other store always confirms the order with the dashers. I have never been treated like this. Don't get defensive and rude and yell at people because you can't do your job correctly and take 5 seconds to make.sure your to go orders are taken by the right people and not stolen.

The recipe for Einstein bagels has changed, they are no more chewy than a slice of cheap white bread. I used to get chewy bagels at Einsteins but white bread is not my idea of bagels so good bye Einsteins, let me know if you change back to the chewy recipe.

Update 3/22: taking them down to one star the service was really pathetic. They’re not only messed up my name. They messed up my order total. The food was still decent, but that’s about all I can say that’s positive. Update 4/7/24: taking them down star .. One of the 2 girls who work here are rude - not customer-friendly. When I called and asked if dogs were allowed , she said service animals only and neglected to say that they have a patio area where you can take your dog. When I asked for my free rewards coffee, she refused, saying that I had to do it online with the order. Additionally, she got my order wrong and had to remake my egg, ancient grains bagel, but there were no apologies. —— Always my favorite place to visit for a weekend breakfast. Amazing bagels. Specially, the ancient grain egg cheddar and bacon. Not the crowd here, so might be good to use the app and order ahead… You also get the free coffee with the rewards

When ordering the Texas brisket sandwich it comes on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. I normally get an everything bagel because I’m allergic to jalapeños. But I didn’t specify it today, so when I got my food after wait a half hour like normal, it had a jalapeño bagel. I reordered through DoorDash and tried to call the store to get information and confirmation it wouldn’t have jalapeños on it, however I was placed on hold for 10 minutes. I asked the driver to check it but they can’t open the food. When I got the second order it AGAIN had a jalapeño cheddar bagel, even if there wasn’t jalapeños on it you could see little chunks of them baked into the cheese. So I got a dash credit, gave the driver a cash tip as an apology, then tried to call the store again. They close at 2. I called at 1:40 and no one answered. It rang and rang and rang, and when I tried to call again after waiting only a few minutes again no one picked up. So now I’m without lunch.

I don’t appreciate the attitude I received when I politely asked for them to remake my sandwich. The cashier hand me this tub of bacon and thought that was enough to satisfy my purchase. I asked for my sandwich to be made and insisted I take the bacon. I went back to ask to have them make the sandwich and your assumed supervisor on staff decided attitude and disrespect were more appropriate. Her initial “ I believe him.” In regarding my sandwich order. Of course you believe me. The ticket was up on the screen and my order was wrong. A simple exchange would have sufficed. I apologize for raising my voice, but when your staff is thinks I’m trying to upgrade my sandwich for free, I assure you it’s quite the opposite. Maybe work with minimizing errors on orders and ensure your patrons get a receipt.

Customer service was horrible!!!!!!! The woman who was helping us was throwing our bagels into the box so aggressively. She Charged us for a gourmet bagel but didn’t tell us. The entire interaction was uncomfortable! Will not be returning.
