Very warm and friendly atmosphere with great food! UPDATED REVIEW: Went back to this wonderful restaurant to try the 5-course meal and was really impressed by the service, presentation, taste, and overall quality. We had the Sedano Rapa, Ciambotta, Carpaccino, Kimchi Pasta, and the Orange Panna Cotta. My favorite was definitely the Sedano Rapa, I literally had to stop myself from licking the plate clean. Something about that sauce was so good lol. Highly recommend!

Met my daughter here for lunch yesterday. I had the tacos, which were fresh, flavorful, filling and delicious. I ordered the wrap to go, and had it for dinner. I liked the wrap even better than the tacos. My daughter had the BLT and she love, love, loved it! She also got the wrap to go, and had it for dinner. Overall, she liked her BLT the best. We will be back!

The absolute best Vegan food round town and maybe CA for that matter. From the mocktails to the starters to the shepherds pie we have found a new watering hole🤤 We have a nut allergy and the staff was great helping us with ordering (hats off Wyatt). Cant recommend enough.

If you are looking for a cozy restaurant with delicious food, this place is it! I loved the little garden located right in front of the restaurant. The service at the Plot was great, our server Austin was very welcoming. The food was amazing! I had the Teriyaki Spam bowl. All of the flavors and textures paired really well together.

Tasty food, nice vibes, friendly staff. Menu changes periodically, so you get new things to try, but they maintain some of the regular favorites. I’ve tried many different things there and they’re all good. You gotta check it out.

My husband and I came here for the first time for a Sunday brunch. A friend recommended this place and it was delicious! We had the breakfast bowl and the shakshuka and everything was so fresh, flavorful and delicious. The portions were perfect and the menu was interesting and innovative. Some of the best plant based food we’ve ever had. We also had the ice tea lemonades which were so refreshing. We were served by the lovely Ruby and she made great recommendations and was so nice. Parking is easy. The interior is airy, modern and relaxing. We would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to come back next time we’re in the area.

We are from the PNW and will definitely go out of our way to come back here. We had the pickle party appetizer, katsu eggplant sando, carrotfish tacos, and the cashew burrata. Everything was delicious. Can’t wait to visit again. Keep up the good work

My friend said the food was excellent. She was spot on. Went for brunch. Had the reuben and eggplant sandwiches plus an order of fries. For dessert the chocolate cake; hot chocolate to drink. The best and most flavorful meal I have had in San Diego!! Ruby who waited on us was kind and made us feel very special for my birthday celebration. Thank you, Ruby. You made this a birthday meal I will never forget! The Plot is fortunate to have you!

First time making the trek up from North Park to try out The Plot and we had an incredible experience! Ruby, or server, was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided a great overview of the menu and her favorite items. The food itself was so delicious we actually forgot to take photos of everything. We started with the burrata (pictured) and it was full of fresh & delicious savory and sweet flavors. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Plot is our forever No.1 I honestly can’t say enough good things about The Plot. With a background in nutrition and as an ovo-vegetarian, I’m extremely picky about “healthy” restaurants—most either lose flavor or rely on processed ingredients. But The Plot is completely different. They serve real, whole, nourishing food that also tastes incredible. It feels like every dish is created with love and intention. This place is beautiful—the garden where they grow their own vegetables and herbs, the stylish yet calming atmosphere—but what makes it truly special is the people. We love the entire team, but Ruby has become like family to us. She always welcomes us with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like you’re coming home. I have a dog and a two-year-old, which usually makes eating out stressful—kids utensils, tissues, dog water bottle, treats… total chaos. But Ruby is so patient, kind, and genuine that both my son and my dog feel safe and relaxed here. They actually sit and finish their meals—this NEVER happens anywhere else. And on top of that, Ruby always recommends the most amazing dishes. When we’re overwhelmed by so many great options, we just follow her suggestions—and she has never, ever been wrong. We follow their IG and just saw they have a brand new menu again (yes, they change it often—so if you don’t want to miss incredible flavors, keep an eye on it!). The pancakes and the BLT were unforgettable, and their tacos… honestly 10/10, pure love. We come almost every month and celebrate our special days here. The Plot isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a place where we feel cared for, understood, and welcomed. It’s the No.1 plant-based restaurant in the U.S., and you truly shouldn’t miss it.

The Plot is easily the best vegan dining in San Diego. Every dish is full of flavor and creativity, and the chefs make the experience feel special. I went for one of their multi-course dinners and loved watching the live-fire cooking under the lights. I even featured it on my San Diego Foodie Fan blog because it was such a standout meal. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a unique and memorable night out.

The Plot has a lot going for it. Overall, I’d rate the food a 4/5—everything was flavorful and well-prepared, but the waffle was a little too hard for my taste since I prefer soft waffles. That aside, the service and atmosphere were both a 5/5. The staff was attentive and welcoming, and the vibe of the restaurant made the whole experience enjoyable. I’d definitely go back again for the great service and environment, and to try more of what they offer.

The food is just AMAZING. What Chef Waite and his team are able to create with plants is a testament to what is possible. The flavors and textures of something as simple as the roasted carrot dish which looked and tasted beautiful was delicious. Don’t miss the eggplant dish which was equally beautiful and had a variety of textures and flavors. The service was great and it was clear the care that went into preparing these dishes. Plan to go back again soon and try more menu items .

Among the top recommendations for vegan lovers! Everything we had absolutely incredible. I have no doubt anything you order will be amazing. They had the best truffle fries I've ever had. But the eggplant parmesan was mad good 5/5. Ingredients coming from a garden right beside you is a really cool experience. I will return no doubt. I went to this place after eating at a buffet for lunch and I still enjoyed it immensely. That does not usually happen. Go here, you won't regret it!

I really loved it. The flavors were well developed – for a plant based menu offering, that’s usually is what I’m looking for. I ordered Chilaquiles and they were perfect. Even some of the other dishes that we ordered did not disappoint. The look and feel of the restaurant reminded me of ‘vinaigrette’ a restaurant that I went to in both Austin and in a city in New Mexico. This restaurant does have more soy based products, which is not always my favorite ( i’m usually looking for real vegetables), but I was just happy to see that whatever I ordered could be made without soy and it tasted perfect. I also like that they have a plot of land behind the restaurant where they’re growing a few things – it’s not that big but it is always nice to see that some of the things that I ate came from the garden behind.

We discovered The Plot about a year and a half ago, and it quickly became one of our regular spots. Even now, we’ll happily drive over an hour just to eat here—because it’s that good. Hands down some of the best vegan food around, and honestly some of the best food in general. The staff are consistently kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do, which makes every visit feel special. The menu is incredibly creative and original—there’s always something new to try, and you’ll never get bored eating here. Every dish feels thoughtful, flavorful, and exciting. As a family, this place has meant a lot to us, and with our upcoming move, it’s the restaurant we know we’ll miss the most. If you’re anywhere in Southern California, The Plot is an absolute must, whether you’re vegan or not. Truly a gem in Oceanside.

The Plot is awesome! Deliciously crafted plant based foods, with many of the ingredients grown right there in their gardens. Food was very fresh; even their ketchup and sauces are made in house. Indoor and outdoor seating, with a large patio. The Patty Melt and Breakfast Burrito were both super tasty. Would definitely recommend when in Oceanside

Today was such a delightful day! My best friend and I enjoyed a wonderful early dinner together. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor! Plot is the best. Plot is by far my favorite restaurant ever! I go a few times a week. Your staff is amazing, the garden is fabulous, your wifey always greets us with a smile and the love that pours out of the kitchen into your food is spectacular. I planned a super last-minute birthday dinner here and it ended up being one of those “how is this place THIS good?” nights. Real talk: I didn’t even realize it was a vegan restaurant at first. I skimmed the menu, everything sounded amazing, and only later a friend was like “you know it’s all vegan alternatives, right?” Cue me walking in a tiny bit nervous… and leaving fully converted. We went all in on starters: the burrata + pear, Pickle Party (so fun), cheesy truffle fries (I LOVED that the truffle situation is more of a rich, creamy aioli moment on top), the primavera/bean salad, and the clear superstar… the shroom toast. It didn’t even jump out at me on the menu, but wow — absolutely blew me away. Like, I’m still thinking about it. For my main I got the tofu fried chicken and I genuinely cannot believe how they nailed the consistency and flavor. Crispy, satisfying, and the braised mushroom side was the perfect cozy add-on. Atmosphere was vibey and warm, food was next level, and it made a last-minute birthday feel like an intentional little celebration. 10/10, would come back every single time I’m in Oceanside.

One of my favorite vegan meals in a long time! The flavors were absolutely outstanding and the service was amazing. I loved the intentionally around sustainability too. My spouse and I got the sushi, eggplant starter and the gnocchi and meatloaf entrees. All of which were wonderfully delicious. I’ll be thinking about this meal for a long time. Thank you!

Love this restaurant!! Food was phenomenal as well as service and atmosphere. They have a lovely vegetable and herb garden on site. We ordered pear burata, sushi, pickled plate, 2xBLT, 2xeggplant katsu and chocolate torte. Each dish was beautifully presented and so very delicious, highly recommend! Michelle and Austin took great care of us!

We had an unbelievably delicious lunch today. First time here and have to say this is the best vegan food I have ever had! They use a lot of fresh ingredients from the garden out back. We started with their sushi appetizer which was beautifully presented with a creamy yummy sauce. We also tried the burrata appetizer which came with hearty bread to spread it on along with saucy walnuts and delicious pears. Our main courses were the BLT and eggplant sandwiches. Just amazing! The chefs have a talented way of mixing flavors and textures to create out of this world healthy and delicious plant based dishes. Austin our server was very attentive and great at explaining options. Michelle our hostess is so friendly and also has a lot of good information about the restaurant, history, and options. I highly recommend!
