Honestly all the bad reviews are from people that don’t know anything about Asian food, place is pretty good. I go here once every month to treat myself
I took out hot and sour soup which I favor. It was just about the best I have ever full of flavor. Definitely will be back good service, very polite people
Hot and fresh food always. Service is awesome, and the restaurant is very clean
Got Uber eats from here, general Tso's chicken with fried rice and steamed dumplings and an egg roll. I got the food in 19 minutes which is unbelievably fast for a delivery service (which isn't what I'm reviewing but it got delivered and made so fast). And everything tasted amazing. I couldn't believe it. Some of the very best Chinese food I've had.
We live near here and order from here often. I don't remember ever having a problem. The food is good, placing an order is easy, and prices reasonable. We almost had pizza tonight, but the place I called doesn't know how to answer the phone, so we went to China Star where I know they always answer the right away. Why is this so hard for other places?
Tasty feel good hot and sour soup and they seal their bags if ordered through online food delivery so that is thoughtful of them as well..
The best food around. I've been eating here for 15 years. I get take out every time I'm back in the area. My favorite is the General Tsos chicken. Not to spicy, and the chicken is evenly cut, no huge doughy pieces.
Great food. Always pleasant.
I love eating here for lunch because the prices are good and the quantity is amazing enough for me to eat twice out of one meal. Plus the service is super friendly. Two thumbs way up 👍🏽👍🏽
This is where we go when we want Chinese takeaway. Prices are comparable with others. Quality is very good. Chicken wings are the best in town! At China Star, when you order wings, you get the whole wing (both segments and the tip). Other restaurants call a segment a wing. It's like BOGO.
I ordered for my students as a part of our unit celebration and they loved it! Ordering was easy and the young lady who took my order was courteous and very helpful. The food was ready on time which I greatly appreciated. An overall awesome experience that didn't disappoint. Thank you China Star! 🤗
Got there before opening they still took my order. The staff was very nice. The food is very fresh and hot I love this place
Extremely nice staff and their food is always wonderful. We’re so happy that we’re living close again so that we can make this our permanent Chinese.
I love this place. The food is very fresh ,nice customer service and the food is delicious. I am glad they are close to my house.
I have to say i dont usually leave reviews but this is my go to take out place! Food is always delicious, warm&fresh, servings are generous and theyre super friendly, always greet you when you come in etc- the service is awesome
My firs time and I was unsure about this restaurant but i ordered orange chicken with broccoli and fried rice with chicken and pork, for real i had the best flavor and everything there is clean and even more, you can see all of them cooking because it is an open kitchen. I recommend it 👌
Great place for real Chinese food. Family owned and operated.

China Star is good I do my homework because I don't trust a lot of the Chinese restaurants in the area a lot of them have very bad reviews the only reason why I'm somewhat trusting of this restaurant is because when I go to restaurant violations they don't have severe violations like rodents roaches or mishandling of food a lot of them are just minor violations the food is usually very good and I do trust them to a certain degree however that lady at the front counter needs to learn how to smile and be friendlier to the customers. When she takes my money she doesn't say thank you she says nothing and it really ticks me off if you're in the restaurant business you need to be more welcoming and friendlier to your customers especially repeat customers!!
China Star is our go to New York style Chinese food restaurant. We never dine in and always order to-go. Food quality is slightly above average with other NY style Chinese food restaurants we have tried in the area but doesn't beat some of the more expensive places we've eaten. We find it a good compromise between quality and price. I believe they stopped delivery service in December of 2016.
I like the place, people are nice and fast. And whenever I've been there, they are fairly busy. I noticed a lot of pick-ups going out the door. Food is good, but not the best I've had.
Price is a little higher than I'd like but the food, albeit greasy, was very solid, the staff was nice enough, and I didn't have to wait very long. Will definitely go back when I need my Chinese food fix.
Fast and delicious food. The staff are usually very friendly as well. I have been going here for years and have never had any issues with my food. I usually get the orange chicken and it will come with small orange peels to give the chicken the orangey taste. Only down side is you have to pick out all the orange peel slices because obviously no one wants to eat that. But I do enjoy the flavor it gives out.

Sad to say that after at least 3 years of ordering from China Star, we have slowly distant ourselves because the prices continue to rise. I get it, things are going up BUT if prices are going to go up, the portion should remain the same. I just stopped by and the portion of the rice was different from the two orders I got and it was the same exact thing. Very disappointed. I may have to officially break up with them and go to a different Chinese place. The staff is nice and the location is perfect but this is just ridiculous.
The food is ok. Since they don’t take credit card when you want delivery & we stopped ordering from them. Most of the time mom & I are too tired to cook b/c of our Dr appt we order out & have delivery. Since they only deliver when you use cash. Most of the time we don’t have cash. Now we order from another place.
The food was good, but I think they over charged me. The receipt only shows the amount of purchase not how much each item cost. Don't think I will be going back.
The food was good. Service was fairly quick. I ordered the chicken and broccoli. The broccoli was cooked very well, had a nice crunch to it just the way I like it. I just hope that the chicken was real chicken.
Food is good, but what I normally ordered has gone up about 30%. I used to come here weekly but I just can’t justify paying this much for a regular Chinese food spot.
Ok food. It was hot and fresh. I got my go to: General Tsoa with fried rice. Pet peeve: the paper-towel dispenser doesn’t work in the bathroom. There is a roll of paper towels on top of the dispenser. The photos on the menu board need to be updated.

Chicken wings were decently seasoned but more salty than anything. Fried rice and Hunan Shrimp tasted like heavy oil and grease. Place was clean and workers were too! I mean you can order here for last minute dinner options like I did on a Tuesday night but there are better Chinese food in the area. I’ll pass on a second chance
Ordered veggie egg rolls (burnt) Cheese wontons (old reheated and chewy) Chicken fried rice with veggies (verh bland im flavor but atleast fresh) I was most upset because i placed the order on phone to pick it up fresh. Very dissapointing
I ordered shrimp lo mein and shrimp and broccoli. The lo mein seemed thrown together just noodles and 6 small shrimp, no vegetables, and the fried rice hard and had a bad flavor. Seems the quality is going down.
Bad service, food is 50/50. Not the best place. Very expensive as well, small portion.

The food came out way too fast and when I tried it it wasn’t fresh. Feels like left over rice from the day before. I spit out the egg roll which tasted like gasoline. No one in my family finished their order.
Standing at the counter waiting for one of the three women to help me. One is on the phone the other two are staring off into deep space. Minutes go by the phone rings and one of the two spaced out employees jumps to attention answers the phone, looks at me and then says " one minute!" Might as well be Walmart the customer service is so bad. Never coming back.
This used to be good but now they are trying to hard. With the phone orders, Uber, and the orders of the people who actually go in they are losing it. Waited for 30 minutes for food to not end up with any because they could not keep track of who came first or what order to fill. I watch people with larger orders go out the door who I watched place their order and when I went to the counter I was told 2 more minutes only to wait the other half of the 30 minutes and just get a refund as the person at the counter was like I just told them to make your order. And then ontop of that he double charged me and had to refund my money twice, this place is not it any more and really miss First Choice Chinese Restaurant in Ocoee, IYKYK.
I went to the restaurant in person to order hoping it would be freshly made. Absolute slop on a plate. Nothing tasty about it. Orange chicken was MUSH. Nothing crispy about it. Texture of chicken on Kung Pao was awful. Only decent item was the spring roll. I have yet to find a Chinese restaurant that isn't horrible. We do however love Thai Blossom in Winter Garden and yes I know it's Thai and not Chinese but their Orange Chicken is delicious!
The rice was white and bland with wayyyyy too many veggies to not have flavor. I was disappointed. Paid 54 dollars for lo mein that was made with thin spaghetti. 4 chicken wings, a large fried rice and 3 egg rolls. Disappointing, utterly disappointing.
We came here many years ago the food was really delicious. Hoping to find the same type of deliciousness didn't happen. The lady at the front counter answering the phone was very as if she was better than the people patronizing her business she was not pleasant at all. We took our dinner home only to discover there was hair in the broccoli how disgusting is that and no we won't be returning again.
This was my first time at China Star my fiance recommended we go here. The lady taking the phone calls was very rude to myself and my fiance. The food or the sauce that came with the vegetables was very salty as well as the chicken. I'm not recommending this place however there is a new restaurant right around the corner and that Publix Plaza that's opening on January 2nd will check that out maybe you should too. Oh yes and to the owners, when you have people patronising your business we are providing a means for you to support your family, and take care of your bills and other expenses you may have. That being said you should ensure that your people go above and beyond what is expected of them. And no! I will not be returning, however I will be patronizing the new business right around the corner from you guys January 2nd it's a new Chinese restaurant. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. And if there are any typos in this review my apologies. Happy New Year
Gave this place a chance after a while and the quality just isn’t there anymore Krab Rangoon was pretty soggy and sesame chicken was not crispy at all appreciate how fast the food came but maybe it came too fast and quality took a hit unfortunately
The food quality is extremely disappointing. Placed an order of Krab Rangoons they were over cooked hard to bite. Will not be back.
Horrible customer service Ordered on door dash, pork fried rice with egg roll and received no pork in fried rice or egg roll. I attempted to eat the rice and it was hard and not Edible. Called to ask why the mistake happened and was told I ordered incorrectly didn’t even offer to fix mistake. Door dash clearly has that pork fried rice would be given and I paid extra to make sure it was pork fried rice and not white rice. $2 up charge on app. Manager said for me to cancel my order when it was already delivered. She knew that wouldn’t be possible. She said I made the mistake and there’s nothing she would do to correct it. Her biggest mistake was not caring that I’m pregnant because now she lost a customer and I will never be returning.
I ordered delivery from them through DoorDash. They forgot my dumplings which was half the cost of my order. I called them to make it right and they claimed I had not ordered from them and refused to credit me the $8.75. They’re crooks. I even sent them a screenshot of their confirmation email (see attached) and they claimed it wasn’t them.

Ordered 1 item. Took a long time to receive it— as soon as I went to the counter the cashier/order taker tells other lady to get my order—- they gave me the impression they don’t like small orders maybe that’s why she initially asked if I was ordering a large vegetable fried rice. Bad business practice. Ordered more food the day before no problem waiting but the food was bland! Charge a lot for low quality food. But I have them a second chance. Oh, I will take the hint I’m NOT coming back!
Decided to try this place while ignoring all the negative reviews. Yeah big mistake. Moving down to the area from the NYC area I guess I expect a basic level of Chinese take out. Well this isn't even basic. Starting off the review by saying on a scale of 0-10 the egg rolls were a 1. And the only reason I'll give them a 1 is the wrapper was fried nicely. As for the filling, it was pure unadulterated mush. No texture except mush, as if it were food processored to the point of being unrecognizable. Why? The entrees were chicken and broccoli, and beef and broccoli. I would love to share how they tasted but that would suggest they were prepared with flavor to taste. How is it possible to make and sell flavorless food and remain in business? In all honesty I knew I was in trouble when I went to pick it up and asked for house mustard and the response I received, "We don't have that". Criminal!!!!! If you're looking for what Chinese take out is supposed to taste like, I suggest looking at New China on West Rd near Publix in Ocoee.
Food is horrible. Food is bland. Quality of meats is horrible. Also, always check your orders thoroughly before you leave the store with it. They charge for more expensive dish, but give you a cheaper version. It was too far for me to go back but for their stupidity, they will lose more than that. I will not go back there.
I ordered Honey chicken with fried rice and the chicken was soggy and inedible. I've never seen chicken come in a separate container submerged in water before. Don't waste your money. Would NOT recommend!
Purchased some Rangoons horrible tasted like they had been in the freezer for a year rubbery. The fried rice dried out the vegetables were frost bitten. Don't buy from this place could get sick not sure where they found the cooks.
Most shittiest food at China Star Ocoee. They deserve a 0 Star for food and service. The Chicken we ordered was dry and hard . The guy at the counter was very rude . Instead of fixing the food or offering to replace, they were very abrupt and rude. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL
I bought some food here and the sesame chicken texture did not taste like chicken, the food need to be tested. Once i put it in my mouth and started eating it i just know it wasn't chicken
