Went here for a private party ... staff, food and service were excellent. Couldn't have asked for better. We're from out of torn but this is a family favorite (from the area) and we can see why. Excellent!!!!
Went here on a recommendation from a friend. This is one of the best places I have ever eaten in this area. The bruschetta was fresh, we had some of the best risotto and whitfish, super fresh pasta and topped it off with a canolie. Bon apetito, mongia felicimo.
Once inside, Toscana transports you to an upscale dining experience. The menu choices are rich and interesting. We had the Osso Bucco and the Toscana Pasta. Both were beautifully presented and delicious. The Toscana Pasta has a.meatball, sausauge, and the best eggplant. I chose the pomodoro, but it's also good with the vodka sauce. We ventured out to try the ricotta-pistacio cake for dessert with a cappuccino and Expresso. The choice turned out to be a light, creamy dessert. The waitress was amazing as well. If you want to eat here, be sure to get a reservation.
Great little hidden gem in oneanta. We loved the food and service. The restaurant it's self is very stylish and modern. The service can't be matched anywhere else in town.
Outstanding Italian restaurant. Diane was a fantastic waitress (tku!). Each course and cocktail was delicious. Our new favorite.
My husband and I went to Toscana's for our 11th Anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff was attentive, the bread was hot out of the oven fresh and yummy, the portions were large and reasonably priced and the drinks were fantastic! If I had to say something negative, I could only say that this seems like a wonderful restaurant just getting it's start. I think they would do well to move to a larger establishment and spread their wings a little! It's cozy and elegant though, it does get a bit close when the business picks up. WELL DONE!
We absolutely love going here!its a rare treat we get a chance to go between work and kids but its always excellent. The pork shank is my absolute favorite incredible how good that is.the calamari is super fresh and delicious and the marinara sauce is perfect.the only bad thing id say is minor is it is very cramped and usually very loud with that aside its a must go in oneonta.
Best place in oneonta to get food. Out of the 7 or so times we have come to Toscanas we have never had a bad meal. The chicken parm and Marsala are out of this world. The seafood dishes are always fresh, and the meatball appetizer is so good. The service is always top notch and the place is clean.
Best place for a nice dinner in Oneonta! Great selection of beer and wine, with a nice range of items on the menu. Would love another steak option! Servers, hostesses, and bartenders are always nice and helpful, will continue to come back
Manhattan level food. Manhattan level service. Manhattan level drinks. I would never expect it in Oneonta. Bravo!
Never noticed it before, looked up a place to have a special dinner and chose it. Will definitely eat here again. Delicious food, attentive (but not hovering!) service. We really enjoyed it. Mango salmon, a special, was indeed special!
The perfect dinner. We went to a local restaurant about 30 minutes from Cooperstown. We started with drinks that were made perfectly. Our waitress Ayzis B was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Osso Buco Milanese; my wife ordered shrimp and scallops over angel hair pasta. I can honestly say it was one of, if not the best, Osso Buco I have ever had. My wife stated that her meal was perfectly prepared as well. Finally came dessert and once again they did not disappoint. This meal was perfect from start to finish.
Stopped here late on a Sunday night and had an unexpected surprise. From the way we were greeted to the amazing food. The steak was perfect, the appetizers too. Highly recommend
I've been here many times and always leave happy. Great food on the regular menu and lots of great specials. Highly recommend you stop for dinner. Nice atmosphere and excellent service.
Perfect evening at Toscana tonight. From the minute we sat down, through dessert, everything was beyond expectations. I missed pictures of the fabulous calamari appetizer and cannoli dessert. Service was spectacular. We will definitely be back.
A hidden gem right in my own backyard. From the moment we walked in the staff was welcoming and also accommodating. We had made a reservation for two, which turned into four at the last minute. Our waiter, Vinnie was absolutely wonderful. The menu has a great variety, and the specials list was as vast as the main menu. So many great dishes to choose from. We ordered escargot for an appetizer, it was amazing. I had the mango salmon for my main course which was juicy and flavorful. My mom had the eggplant seafood crepe romana, which she let me sample, delicious, it's her favorite dish so far as shes ordered it on 3 separate visits. My daughters ordered a shrimp and scallops dish with their signature home made pasta and a meatball dish both were cooked to perfection. We ordered the cannoli, creme brulee, chocolate mousse and tiramisu which we all shared. Everything was so tasty, flavorful and fresh. We didn't need any take home boxes, we ate everything!
We ordered from Toscana to celebrate my 30th birthday and my parents 32nd wedding anniversary. I called a little while before they opened to see if they could make us the order in time for when they open as we live in Delhi. They were very accommodating. Everything was delicious and the portions were more than enough. Also, we ordered mainly seafood dishes and nothing was over cooked as it could be when traveling hot. A great plus!! Worth the money, in my opinion. Thank you, Toscana for the lovely celebration meal!
This place is small and quiet, amazing staff they know what they are doing, and the food speaks for itself self! Never have had a dish any other way, than perfect! Presentation, quality, quantity, taste..... All just perfect!
Food is priced a little higher than most places BUT IT IS SO WORTH IT! The waitstaff were so sweet, food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is absolutely lovely. I would 100% go again without a doubt
We dined at this restaurant while visiting with our granddaughter at SUNY Oneonta. We were very pleased with the service, atmosphere and the quality of the food. Our sever’s name was Toni’s R and she was very attentive to our dining needs and very timely with the service. If you are in the Oneonta area we recommend Toscana for dine Italian food.
This is a no doubter in my book. Excellent food. Very friendly and courteous staff. Excellent owner as well. Priced reasonably. Great atmosphere. I do recommend making reservations on Friday and Saturday.
My wife and I stopped in Oneonta for the night and found this gem of a restaurant! The service was outstanding and the food was better. From the appetizer to the desert everything was outstanding!
The food was well worth the wait and despite having a reservation and having to wait the staff was very courteous and offered alternate options but I was willing to wait for a table in the dining area and I am glad I did this location is just as good as the Cooperstown location.
When visiting the city of Oneonta, this restaurant is a must HANDS DOWN! Delicious food, lovely minimalist vibe, and Sam was an extremely friendly & competent server. And open Sundays at 4pm, which was just great!
Incredible food, friendly staff (Chuck was a great bartender!), and good drinks! Pleasant surprise for a nice restaurant in such a small town. The bolognese was delicious!
First time I have been to Toscana and I saw the reviews and decided to try it. I was not disappointed. I tried all the specials that evening so I don’t know how the regular menu is, but I assume all the food is as good as the specials.
A New York City caliber Italian Restaurant. Romantic, candlelight dining. Attentive, friendly service. Fresh fish and shellfish despite being so far from the ocean. Bright, fresh sauces, traditional Italian dishes and numerous specials including everything from Corsican Sardines to pasta fagiole. Our party of three enjoyed fried calamari and escargot. For dinner, it was sushi-quality tuna, rack of lamb (New Zealand) and veal parmigiana. The veal parmigiana was not on the menu, however, because several other veal preparations were listed either on the menu of in the specials, the chef was happy to prepare the veal as requested. The deserts were all home-made. We had tartuffo, tiramisu and my personal favorite, real chocolate mousse. The wine list (available by the glass or the bottle) is small, but extremely well chosen. It features some excellent blends by the glass which enabled our party to enjoy fine wine with fish, lamb and veal. Our servers recommendations were excellent. Finally, this restaurant is an excellent value. The prices are moderate but the quality of the food and the service are equivalent to a much more expensive NYC restaurant.
Hands down the best restaurant in Oneonta-food, service and atmosphere are exceptional. Everything on the menu is delicious, you can’t go wrong here.
The food and the service were incredible! We did not have Reservations, they instantly made room for us and catered to anything we needed! Totally fantastic, love this place!
We went for a celebration for our daughter and the food was outstanding, the bruschetta was mouthwatering, the salad fresh, the main dishes were all delicious we had a party of 6 and no one was disappointed. This restaurant was very clean, kitchen was spotless. It was very refreshing to eat in a restaurant that you know the staff put heart into everything. My husband said he wished it was closer to our home so we could order take out . I was very glad we made reservations Saturday are busy. We will be going back.
Our waitress Sam was great! I had the barramundi picatta and my husband got the duck, both excellent. Nice wine choices, we each had 2 glasses. The place was full by 6pm. Make reservations if you go. We will definitely return!
OMG! The tastes of Italy in New York State. I was just floored... I've traveled all over Italy and the United States and believe it or not...I have had one of the best Italian restaurant experiences of my life ...in a small strip mall in New York state. Gourmet quality food, beautifully presented, overflowing with flavors and full portions. The restaurant was packed so we chose to eat at the bar to lessen the wait, best decision we made. Alas, Guinevere- to refer to her as just a bartender would be an insult. She skillfully described her favorite dishes, matched them perfectly with wine options, then did the same thing with after dinner drinks and dessert! Guinevere was just phenomenal... We all thought she was the restaurant owner because she took such pride in ensuring a perfect dining experience for our party. She was busy from all angles, non stop, all night. Answered questions. Always smiling, always happy to help, she enhanced our dining experience, bringing it to the next level. Everything tasted so fresh, bursting with flavor-just phenomenal food, I expected to see Gordon Ramsay step out of the kitchen. Yes... The food was that good... So was the experience....All in a small strip mall.... in NY State.
Delicious food and EXCELLENT service. We were traveling to the area for another event in Milford NY, and your restaurant came highly recommended by a local -- he was spot on! The waitress (and her colleagues) were extremely patient with my 1½ and 3¾ year-old grandchildren, even when the older one had an accident with a water glass.
Food is SO good!! Lots to choose from on the menu. Service was good. I highly recommend.
We flew in Wednesday night from Dan Diego. We are in town to watch my grandson play ball at Cooperstown All Star Village. We happened upon this great restaurant our first evening. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for good Italian. The snapper was wonderful and the chicken parm was terrific. We couldn’t eat all of it and by the way the bread was out of this world. Bon Apetite.
Our experience was amazing! From the atmosphere when you walk in. To our server Taylor. The bartender offered an elderly couple who had walked over from their hotel to get them a cab. It’s was starting to storm she even paid for it. Love love this little heaven in Oneonta.
most amazing food for my stay in cooperstown my whole family was left speechless with how good it was. no one has ever had a pasta and vodka sauce better than the one we had here. And the salmon was amazing. the mango salsa was so interesting and paired amazing with the salmon
We had a great dinner at Toscana this evening. The service was pleasant and very attentive. We went with a few of the specials and they were delicious. My wife is an Italian from the Bronx and she was very happy with all courses. Thanks to Andrew and entire staff. We highly recommend.
Start to finish... place is incredible. Get the chicken parm... and cannoli. Award winning. Bartenders are on point and the entire staff is courteous and helpful. Owners are both wonderful and actually care about their customers.
Wow!! Enjoyed my birthday dinner here a couple months ago and it was great! It was actually my last meal dining out before Covid hit and it was definitely a memorable one. Service was phenomenal (wish I could remember the servers name to recognize her personally). She memorized the entire list of specials and was very knowledgeable about the entire menu, it felt like I was in NYC at a super fancy restaurant. I chose a nice Italian bottle of red (I believe a Barolo) to pair with our food and we never felt rushed even though we were there last table to leave. Great wine service as well. Food was impressive from the apps all the way through to the dessert! Will definitely be returning. Great job guys!! Thanks!
We had a delightful experience at Toscana in Oneonta, NY. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening. The menu offered a wide range of authentic Italian dishes. The flavors were exceptional, and I had the Chicken Parm. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations, and above all, the service was outstanding. A must-visit for Italian cuisine enthusiasts in the area!
Wow!! An absolute gem. Top level Italian food with plenty of twists. Our server was Nick, and he was excellent right from the greeting. Our food was positively delicious. If you are in the area or traveling through like us, make sure you take time to stop by.
Delicious food and great service! Visited with my in-laws during a week long stay at Cooperstown All Star Village. The best meal we had that week! Everyone enjoyed their food.
Myself and my family ordered takeout from here the shrimp scampi was unbelievable, absolutely mouth watering. The chicken parm was good a little salty but still was excellent, I only wish they would upload their dessert menu sadly that is the only thing we could not experience. But still worth 5 stars.
We come here all the time, and it NEVER disappoints. Usually Nick is our server and is so friendly and kind. Recently we sat at the bar and Chuck and Alex blew us away. They do so much and still pay close attention to each person at the bar. They’re also so kind and friendly! My favorite part of this restaurant is their Rustic Bolognese and they are always accommodating even if it isn’t on the menu. PLUS they offer the BEST gluten free pasta i’ve ever had. Absolute top choice out of all restaurants in the area. aaaaand the martinis rock.
Had a great visit for a special occasion with my wife and daughter. The food was superb and the service was excellent. Kudos to Jay.
OMG. Best ever food. The waitress was a million percent wonderful. Everyone that was working. Such a beautiful place. So nice and comfortable. YOU GOT TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT. For sure. You will be like. Why have we not ate here. You will mark this as a go to place. Trust me. YUMMY
First of all, I've learned that reviews for restaurants can't be trust without context from the reviewer. Someone who eats primarily fast food is gonna give any restaurant a good review. So here's the context: I worked in fine dining for 12 years - primarily in The Hamptons, some in Boulder CO, and some near Asheville NC. I know good food, drinks, and service. Toscana is by far, without a doubt, the absolute best restaurant in the area. Every single dish was fantastic. The pork belly special was expertly done (pork belly ain't easy). The haddock was generously portioned and cooked/seasoned to perfection. The pasta toscana with vodka sauce was wonderful, and the meatball was perfectly seasoned. And the desserts were exceptional. Beautifully executed. Every course was a hit. And the food is very reasonably priced. Very little in my experience can come close to the quality they serve for the price they charge. From the bar, the espresso martini was excellent. The wines were reasonably priced. We had Jay as our server. Wow. Talk about a professional. Jay delivered exceptional service. He knew the menu front to back, he remembered our names, he was there a few bites in every course to make sure we liked everything, and he had great recommendations. He delivered service that was on par with food and drinks three times the price. The only thing that would make the restaurant better is a more interesting bar program (interesting original cocktails and a better wine list). But for the price, the wine and cocktails I had were well worth the what they charged. All in all, of you're looking for the best restaurant in Oneonta (and beyond), look no further. I reluctantly gave my money do Dazzos last time I visited, and I happily paid my bill at Toscana this visit. Well done, Toscana team.
My son attends Oneonta State. We drove up to have dinner with my son for his 21st birthday. I have to say, the food was superb, the atmosphere quaint and the service was exceptional. Our server was so personable and gave some great drink suggestions. We will absolutely be returning!!! SOOOO GOOD!!!!
Toscana is hands down one of my all-time favorite restaurants. As a big lover of Italian food, this place never disappoints. The food is absolutely spectacular, my personal favorites are the pesto and the carbonara, which are always rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And the bread? It's amazing, too, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just the way it should be. The service is top-notch as well. The staff is always kind and attentive, making sure you have everything you need without being overbearing. The atmosphere is another pleasant surprise. From the outside, you wouldn’t expect much, it's right next to a Dollar Tree, Zoom Tan, and Smokers Choice, so it doesn’t look like much at first glance. But once you step inside, the vibe is absolutely stunning. The interior is cozy, charming, and truly transports you to a wonderful dining experience. All in all, Toscana is a hidden gem that I always look forward to visiting!
I️ recently dined at Toscana and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting (ignore how the parking lot looks, the inside of this restaurant is beautiful). The service was impeccable, but we had a party of 7 and a 8 month old with us. The staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I️ highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good Italian restaurant in the area!
We had a wonderful experience at Toscana for dinner last week. We arrived late on a Friday evening to a warm welcome. The hostess was able to find a us a table for two without too long of a wait. Our server, Maddy H, could not have been any nicer! Very friendly service and she had great recommendations for us. We had salads, shrimp and scallops, and the chicken parmesan. Everything was delicious. Great wine selection. Overall, an excellent experience.
Tried this for the first time this week. Excellent Italian food. We tried the Toscana pasta with sausage and meatballs and the Osso Bucco. Both were very well done. Would definitely eat here again.
Had a few delish tails and a tender as heck steak and shrimp. 8 drafts avail and a cider option and had a fantastic cherry Manhattan special made as requested without issue. Max approved.
Perfect 1st date, anniversary, nice night out. Italian dishes and a big wine selection.
Cozy spot with plenty of wine. Food and service were excellent!
Place is always consistent. Staff is friendly and always knowledgeable about the specials. The owner Angelo and his wife are incredible and care about their customers. We order 3x a week usually.
I’m going to leave a five star view because the experience was good. The atmosphere was good. The service was good. The crabcakes with risotto were excellent probably better than I’ve had in Maryland. Risotto was cooked perfectly as well. The pork belly appetizer was done properly very good only thing they should give you a sharp knife, not a butter knife to eat it with.. The roast duck on the other hand was not roasted. It was deep fried and dried to the bone, and it was the most expensive thing on the menu. So dry It was in edible. Not sure of the thinking why they would sell a $45 plate duck deep-fried no seasoning just burnt. But the rest of the food was excellent and I would return just don’t order the duck. I give a five star review because I promote vocal businesses and from many things they deserve it, but I hope the owner takes time to read this from you about the duck and address the issue. The place was exceptionally clean as well.
The menu highlights traditional Italian fare. I was initially disappointed that the restaurant couldn't make a rather simple request a reality. After speaking with the chef, our amazing waitress, Olivia shared that they were indeed able to do what I asked. The food was delicious! You definitely want to call ahead for a reservation!
Our waitress Heather was lovely, patient, and professional! I recommend the Roman Cesar Salad with the easy over egg and pancetta! Yum! My salmon was perfect! Fish special and salmon were tender and delicious! Chicken Marsala and pasta bolognese also outstanding! The chocolate mousse was sweet and creamy!! We shared one order!
This was my first experience here, and it could have been rough but their amazing staff handled it very professionally. Our reservation got canceled somehow on a busy Saturday night, and it was obvious they could not accommodate a surprise 4 top. They handled it beautifully and I was so happy it worked out. This place is beautifully done! Staff are amazing, and the food is great. Its now definitely my favorite restaurant in the area and we will be back
Random find while looking for an italian restaurant in Oneonta, NY. So lucky we choose this place. A hidden gem. This place had it all ambience, attentive and professional service and the FOOD! Soo good we made reservations for the next night. Highly recommend making reservations as we lucked out the first time as walk-ins because there was seating at the bar. The place gets packed and once you try it you will understand why. The drinks were on point, creative and smoothly delicious. The appetizers; specials and entree options were unique and full of flavor. You taste the quality ingredients and the attention to detail given to each dish. Honorable mentions: Coconut Mojito; Calamari; Meatballs; Vodka sauce (available to go); Carbonara pasta with breaded chicken cutlet; Rustic Bolognese, Filet Mignon cooked to perfection! But pace yourself for dessert a most deliciously filling Cremebrulee! Our family is looking forward to visit the next time we are in town. Thank you for the amazing service Genevieve!
My wife and I had dinner here recently and it was exceptional. There are several classic Italian dishes that are gluten free such as egg plant parm which I had, and it was excellent! The chef here clearly understands how easy it is to turn a dish gf, not often the case in an Italian restaurant. Friendly owners and wait staff. I'll be back.
It is surprising to find a great authentic Italian restaurant quite far from New York City. The restaurant interior is done in a modern style, without decorative clichés and embellishments. Absolutely clean, neat and comfortable seating solution. Excellent service. We dined here on a Thursday, not even Friday or Saturday. The restaurant was completely full, 100%. A clear indicator of a well-functioning business. Despite being fully booked, we were immediately offered excellent seats. What can I say about the waiter? (It was Jay). I can only say one word: professionalism! I don’t know... Maybe great Italian restaurants specially grow great waiters somewhere? He thoroughly described to us all the nuances of the cuisine, suggested the right wine (my son is a pro in choosing wines and he said that Jay knew exactly which wine was appropriate in our case). Everything was truly delicious. With typical Italian sophistication. The price was surprising: the same level of food and service in Manhattan would cost at least twice as much. We bought property near Oneonta and will be happy to come to this restaurant in the future. For delicious food, a wonderful atmosphere and excellent service. Thank you!
This is the best restaurant in the area. The food is delicious and the service is great. The restaurant is fully renovated and very clean. I can’t recommend the penne vodka, eggplant parm, & canoli’s enough. Everything we have eaten at this restaurant has not disappointed.
Delicious food with a pampered dining experience. Met and exceeded expectations. Treated like royalty and worth every penny. I’d love to see them progress their allergy friendly options as they are talented
It’s so tucked away, if you’re not a local you might miss this place! One of Oneonta’s best Italian restaurants. The food. Oh the food 😍 Their chicken parm is to die for. Also love their rustic bolognese. I recommend the salmon dishes too which are colorful and so tasty. Drinks: The espresso martini is on point. Perfect every time! I dream about this cocktail. It’s romantic and moody. Tasty bread when you arrive. The staff is all very professional and I have only ever had great experiences coming here. Highly recommend for date night!
The parking lot is scary. Once you walk in it’s beautiful clean and modern. Candle lite at your table. The service is great. He noticed all of our cues even if didn’t know we had any needs. Told us the specials from memory. The food was amazing. We can’t wait to go back and try something different.
Valentine's Day is fast approaching. If you want to impress your Valentine sweetheart, visit Toscana Northern Italian Grill in the heart of Oneonta, NY. On our last visit, My Tastebud and I feasted on the mouthwatering Rustic Bolognese and tantalizing Mango Salmon dishes. We also opted for a side order of spinach, which was cooked to perfection. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was a vibe. We came, we experienced, we loved our well prepared meal in this clean, sleek, trendy setting. Now you decide. This place was amazing! So happy that we visited here. The place is very modern and sleek. A nice clean and elegant feel immediately upon entry. The host quickly sat us at a nice table and told us a few items that were available for that night. Then our waitress came and introduced herself. Her name was Shelby. She was very patient, and helped us navigate the menu for drinks, appetizers, and main entrees. She was very insightful and provided us with exceptional service. The food was incredible. Everything was so full flavor and very nicely presented. I only wish that this place was closer by, I would definitely frequent here. I highly recommend this restaurant if you happen to be in town. You will not be disappointed.
Lovely, delicate, Italian food. Homemade pasta, complex sauce, unique appitizers. It felt like we were in NYC again and found a little hidden gem just walking around. The waitstaff was young but professional and the environment was clean, easy, but well designed. This will be a spot we return to often. Save room for their homemade deserts.
My wife and I ate here last month on our wedding anniversary. I had the classic ragu, finished the whole thing. My wife got the seafood pasta and we had arancini for our appetizer. Our server, Megan, was amazing and on point. Would definitely reccomend Toscana to anyone and everyone. 2 thumbs up!
Great Italian spot! The restaurant is decent sized and beautifully decorated. A great spot for a girls night or date. The wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The offer many daily specials. Food quality was great. A great escape from the college town experience. The portions are large. Will definitely be back!
I had the veal sorrentino and it was amazing!!
We have been here five or six times now, and the food has always been outstanding. Always plenty of specials to choose from, generous portions and fresh. Tonight the service was excellent. Other times it was okay, not terrible but a little slow and not very attentive. Totally worth it because the food is just that good.
Food and service were very good. They got a bit in the weeds when it filled up at peak time. Wine selection by the glass was a bit light and there weren't many bottles of wine available under 40 dollars. All appetizers and main courses were fantastic, would go again in a heartbeat.
The favourite menu item of the day was the duck poutine served with polenta fries. Maybe it was just that we were hungry, but the pillowy soft polenta, plus tender duck and salty cheese curds, with gravy, was a match made in heaven. Sea scallops over house made tagliatelle were perfectly cooked, although the pasta sauce was a tad bit sweet for my taste. We enjoyed the recommended wines by the glass also.
Lovely atmosphere, and my steak was cooked nicely. The vegetables on the side were quite crunchy and could have used a little more cooking. The kitchen was able to accommodate numerous dietary restrictions within my party, something that was greatly appreciated. Would go again!
Calamari was a little chewy. Linguini carbonara was delicious and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. My son loved the ravioli.
Toscana is definitely a fan favorite among locals, and while I’ve had some good experiences, I do think a bit more flavor would go a long way. I usually order the eggplant parm with penne noodles—everything is cooked well, but the sauce could use a little more depth/flavor. My husband had ordered a special app and entree - both were okay. On the plus side, the cocktails are tasty, and I’d definitely recommend the espresso martini! The last time we dined in, we had a reservation for a special occasion, but unfortunately, the hostess had the wrong date down and we ended up sitting at the bar. Thankfully, the bartender/server was fantastic and really helped turn the experience around. I’ve heard great things from friends about other dishes on the menu, so I do plan to go back and try something different—I love supporting local spots! It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for something a little more upscale!
Been here several times. Fairly busy tonight (Valentine's Day). We were given poor seating and they would not let us change, though there were several tables that remained vacant the entire time we were there. The food was very good to pretty good (Red Snapper, Frutti Di Mare, Cheese Puffs, Dessert) but the service was excellent. Overall a good experience.
We so wanted to love this place, but sadly didn't live up to expectations of an upscale restaurant with high quality food. It was just "OK". The atmosphere was ok, love the simplistic decor, but the acoustics of conversations was very loud...no quiet dining for 2. The server was attentive for the most part but forgetful at times, but very courteous & genuinely concerned with our experience. Portion sizes are more then generous. Plating is very nice. Appetizers were ok, Caprese had several more elements then expected, but just more basil and less spinach would be great. Calamari was good, but pomodore sauce very bland. Carbanara just ok....bacon instead of pancetta used and many pieces of unrendered fat included (yuck)...no peas and very little onion. Steak ordered was suppose to be medium, came well done..server immediately took back and had refired. 2nd attempt was medium, butter garlic mash was just plain old mash, and veg had no seasoning whatsoever. Due to debacle of steak, we received free dessert....tiramisu was not the cake version, it's the custard version (which I usually love), but it was mediocre...chalky tasting. Chocolate mousse...was basically cacao pudding. I don't think it's overpriced for what they're "trying" to achieve, but overpriced for what they "actually" achieved. The kitchen needs to pay more attention to achieve that upscale palette. Won't be returning. Sorry!
Was great when the maitre d was a male who isn't there anymore. The female wait staff don't know what they are doing and have knowledge of the menus/specials. They are not as attentive or friendly either. The food is not what the menus suggests I ordered little neck clams and was serve chowder clams the biggest clams I've ever seen and paid for little necks‼️ Re-think your choice of restaurants..
Pretty decent food, a little overpriced. But the service was top notch. The owner seemed very nice, and the portions weren't too bad, but I still left hungry. Not to mention they put all my food in one pile like my lamb chops my zucchini and everything we're sitting in my mashed potatoes. Now I know it's for style and looks, but it ruined my meal because I didn't want potatoes on my lamb but other than that the food was good so I'll give it three stars
So, I’m not one to write reviews. I ordered the ahi tuna that said it came with risotto and vegetables. I told the waitress I couldn’t eat broccoli but I was fine with anything else. The tuna was served with risotto and ONE 2mm slice of zucchini. When I asked where the vegetables were, I was told by the waitress that she guessed they figured I couldn’t eat broccoli so…very disappointed that one slice of a zucchini constituted “vegetables”.
Caesar salads that were extra were horrible; romaine lettuce was yellow and barely recognizable. Special for the day steak and lobster was a big disappointment. Steak was good however the lobster was not fresh, paid market price. Others dinners were good.
I need to point out things but first let me say this. The staff was great. The steak I ordered was perfect. I yet need to state my overall experience. When we pulled into a small plaza I was surprised to see that we were in a small shopping plaza. The restaurant was in the back corner of the plaza. I thought to myself that the location was challenged. After viewing the menu online, and saw the prices, I thought that it had to be excellent food. There were five of us. Our reservation was 6:30pm. The restaurant was empty and when we arrived, some items were no longer available. We ordered appetizers of cheese sticks, calamari, and escargot. The calamari was terrible. Small portion of calamari, very small. It was bland and very tasteless. The escargot was just WRONG. The basil sauce was nice, but the snails were the worst I have ever had. They tasted like they came out of a can because they were soggy and without taste. You are going to make someone sick if they are not handled correctly. When it came time to order our meals, we ordered the sirloin and was told that it came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. There were no options for sides since we were not offered that option. The chicken fingers were also terrible. They came out very dark on the outside and it appeared that the coating was peeling off. I also have to say that we ordered cannoli's for dessert. They were not cannoli's. They were cannoli shells that were filled with a very sugary filling. Cannoli's have a cheese filling in them and are awesome when the filling is genuine. With that said, I am beside myself on how expensive the food was for the quality it was. For what I had ordered, the cost was there but quality was absent. I always tip well and never hold the server responsible for the ills of the kitchen. There needs to be changes that are needed. TOO EXPENSIVE!!! Skip this and go where you already know there is good food with the quality intact.
As a couple who eat out often, this was hands-down possibly the worst service I've ever experienced in my life. My fiance are still in shock of how poorly we were treated, and are not sure if they were short-staffed or because we didn't have a reservation (we were asked upon arrival, but were walk-ins, and honestly it shouldn't have mattered bc there were ample tables available for a 2-top). I ordered a single glass of wine with my meal to drink with the bread (which was delicious but I'll get to the food in a moment), and had to wait almost 25 minutes before I received it. I realize they were busy & had several large tables, but they seemed to be falling over themselves to cater to those bigger groups, whereas we felt we were placed on the "pay no mind" list since we weren't a 10-top, "regulars" (who clearly received preferential treatment by the male waiter, who had a better handle on things than our friendly but very forgetful waitress), or the pseudo-bourgeois set. Mind you my fiance are always very polite and tip well. So after waiting for my beverage which I had to wave down the waitress for a 2nd time (barely received an apology, if that), we waited almost 40+ minutes for our meal. Funny how the 6-top next to us arrived 20 min after us received their main course (*following* appetizers, which we didn't order) before we did(!) We were asked by another server if we'd like more bread; it never arrived. Asked our waitress for more bread; she forgot that as well. I was so infuriated I was half-tempted to walk out, but we had already placed our order. Never have I felt so snubbed or disrespected in an establishment. Although the food was quite tasty (the only reason I am giving any stars at all), between being mostly ignored, the very loud atmosphere (could be easily remedied by acoustic ceiling tiles), and the wanna-be pretentious atmosphere (um, you're located in a strip mall in upstate NY), I'll never return. Ironically, I was in a restaurant in Queens just hours before that, which probably had 2x as many customers during a busy brunch hour and just ONE waitress, and our experience was like night & day. I'm laughing to myself reading these other reviews; if this sort of customer service was practiced in the city, they'd be shut down in a week. Despite it I still left a decent tip because I'm not an inherently mean person. Believe it or not wait staff, sometimes smaller groups tip better than large groups (I've worked in restaurants before & know this for a fact )...but you lost my business. Here's a tip, Toscana: if you want to retain repeat customers, you need to address your staffing issues for a more cohesive experience for ALL of your diners, not just "regulars" & large tables.
I am very sad to report that the folks at this establishment are less than truthful, honest and/or concerned with customer satisfaction! We arrived one hour before closing (according to their website hours for this date/time) and the very unfriendly server announced “yeah, sorry, we are closed - decided to close early!” We were “stopping over” on travels through NY and Do Not Recommend the establishment for their personnel; however, we have no recommendations for service (hmm, we were not able to get that far)!
