Jeremy was awesome. Great guy and helped us get seated for our large birthday party. He was very kind and honestly the experience was great and seamless. Highly recommend the Pablo Poison. Great atmosphere and vibes.
Visited this past weekend and I must say it was one of the best bar experiences I've ever had! I loved the secretiveness, funny password/phrase to get in through the back door and the drinks were amazing. It added on to our 20's themed party before heading to the bar; party of about 20 - 30 and everyone seemed to be having a good time and a drink in hand. There was about 4 bartenders that night. Can't wait to visit again!
Amazing bar all red lights. Very low profile and discreet. You have to say a password to get in and it's totally fair priced for coming off as such an upscale bar. I really liked my time there, as well as the Moscow Mule it was the best I've ever had.
Awesome little spot for a more intimate/less crowded drink in Old Town! The owner has done a great job at stocking the bar with a wall full of liquor options to choose from. Beer and wine available too. The staff are also great and have kept the service standards high for many years now. Open now, with limited capacity, so it is worth the visit!
Love this place! Best selection of unique drinks in Pasadena. The environment and decor gives you an authentic feel of a prohibition era bar. Nice friendly crowds hangout here. Really fun following them on twitter and keeping up with the passwords needed to gain entry. Even you don't know the password you get hints from the door person. For sure a 5 star experience.
"Good evening and welcome to The Speakeasy, do you know what we will be serving tonight?" "T-Bone Steak Medium Rare" "That is correct, come on in" What a cool little experience to gain access to the bar. You simply need to call beforehand to get the password but once inside, you're greeted with a dark hue of red and a spacious seating area. The bar wall is lined top to bottom with various bottles of spirits that make for a eye-drawing display. The drinks are unique in mixture with some classics thrown in. All were delectable and priced accordingly. Great place to take a date.
With the bar scene getting increasingly bland in terms of creativity, The Speakeasy offers a fun twist on the prohibition era concept. Decor is sexy, the selection of liquor is fascinating in that they have a wide very of premium liquor. A food menu helps to keep you going and the music is reflective of different genres with deep house and low tempo good vibes. In over 3 decades, I would have to say this one can be added to my list of favorites. The service is friendly and professional as it should be. Go and check this place out ! But first find out how to get the password for entry :)
My experience at the The Speakeasy was awesome! Met a couple coworkers at a bar nearby then found this bar to continue drinking. Called ahead to get the password for the night, so you are able to enter the bar. Delicious drinks and cool lounge environment. Will definitely be back!
we came a bit earlier than most people (9pm) and were able to get inside pretty quick. it's really dark inside and the red lighting really sets the mood for the place. i highly suggest the old fashioned as it was simple and had a good taste to it. i'd like to come back when in the area to try another one of the mixed drinks. by the time we left (11pm) there was a line of about 10+ groups in line waiting to get inside.
Good music, nice staff, and new equipment. Speakeasy is a great gym for all types of people. Whether you’re a bodybuilder or just wanting to stay fit it’s a great place to be overall
Really nice vibe and great drinks! You need a password to get in but they are real responsive on the email. Otherwise, the bouncer at the door will give you a hint. They take their time to make your drinks right and they’re really friendly! Fair priced drinks for Colorado ~15 a pop. Huge selection.
Super cute place. I have lived in Pasadena for over 12 years and this was my first time there. You have to email them to get password. They respond very quick. The entrance is super fun and the music is good. DJ played good music. It is first come first serve so you need to find your own table and get drinks at the bar. I had the spicey margarita which was good.
Had such a good time here! The bartender was really cool and accommodating. At midnight, they gave our group a bottle of champagne to celebrate my best friend's birthday. We had a group of and we were able to get the corner to ourselves.
My favorite gym! Clean and has great hours.
I went here a few years ago randomly with my husband and we enjoyed it so much. The atmosphere at the time was Halloween so it was decorated for spooky season and fit all the spooky vibes. It was a great time. I would love to come back again.
The Speakeasy is such a great place to come to. It feels very exclusive and the Ambiance from the moment of walking up to the front door is such an experience worth coming to. After giving the password, they send you to the actual door to find and walking in you must give the password again and then you enter the amazing bar. It looks so legit inside! I thought it would be quiet and empty but there is a good crowd! Everyone is so friendly and nice. We couldn't find a table, but a couple let us sit there with them until another table opened up. The room is very exquisite, read lighting it's extremely romantic, and is an overall worthwhile experience. I honestly cannot wait to come back again.
I visited in October, and the whole place was dark with Halloween décor — definitely a vibe. The bar atmosphere is great and the customer service was on point. They have a wide selection of cocktails, and my absolute favorite was the Coffee Martini — honestly the best one I’ve ever had. Highly recommend checking this spot out.
A vibe when you're in Pasadena and all the restaurants close at 9pm... Loved talking with ET and the drinks were great. We got the Poseidon's Poison and it was perfect (if you like spicy drinks) ! 🍹
Cozy and nice place for a date. You need to guess the password at the door or send an email before hand. You could take pictures but with no flash , People were friendly Drinks are great. Ordered a snack(mozzarella sticks) It came cold and a little past their prime.
You need to email The Speakeasy to get the password of the day. Jeremy, the manager, has created an amazing cocktail list with creative drinks. His friendly demeanor during the evening set the tone for his staff to provide top notch service and drinks. We will be coming back soon!
A great place to relax with a craft cocktail in a bar that doesn’t feel like the ordinary bar in Pasadena. Chill vibe, not too loud. The cocktails are truly unique as well.
Great chill relaxing atmosphere, and a great spot if you just want to have a drink and relax, or if you want to take someone on a first date. Jeremy definitely knows how to make good drinks. Make sure to email them to get the password in advance. Even though the security at the door will help you figure out the password, if you don't figure it out, they won't let you in. Not strict with dress code, but at the very least, dress casual nice.
This bar had such a great vibe and amazing decor! Hidden in plain sight, this is not a bar that you can just walk into on a whim. You must reach out ahead of time to request the secret password to give to the doorman. Once inside, they have a great list of cocktails plus moonshine shots that are delicious. This place is not for the pretentious, and is a great bar to take out of town visitors for a good low key time.
If you are looking for a place that is different and not packed like other bars try this place. It is not represented as a bar out the outside but if you find the place be prepared to answer clues on how to enter (they aren't hard to answer). Drinks here are great and the atmosphere is a relaxing place to talk with others.
One the best bars in Pasadena. You gotta email them in order to get the password ahead of time. Great selection of drinks/beer. Would definitely reccomend the blueberry moonshine shot chilled.
The smoked Old Fashioned cocktail was awesome to watch and delicious with the Eagle Rare bourbon. My girlfriend had the Strawberry surprise and it was savory.
Jeremy is your man— he makes the best custom shots!!! Come here on your birthday on Friday on any day of the week you should have an amazing time!

Their Old Fashion is delicious and paper plane as well. I love that it isn't extremely loud and the music is a great mix that always compliments the ambiance. You need a password to get in, but that shouldn't be a problem. Screw Flanders.
Great gym very nice friendly people , they helped me when I needed help with my gym membership , 100% recommend to switch to this gym !!
Briana is so kind! I look forward to her energy every morning.
Nice place to go out for a drink. Be polite to the bouncer and ask for clues.
My favorite gym! Clean and has great hours.

Super fun concept! Excellent craft cocktails. Doesn't quite live up to the speakeasy vibe musically tho. I would love to hear more 'lectro swing... or any swing at all for that matter. Would definitely recommend a visit!
Secrecy is the name of the game here, as gaining entry requires requesting the passcode on the day of your visit. And let me tell you, finding the entrance is an adventure in itself. Once inside, the atmosphere crackled with excitement and anticipation. The self-serve tables added to the laid-back vibe, allowing us to find a cozy spot to enjoy our drinks after placing our orders. However, I must admit that The Speakeasy didn't quite live up to its name on the night of our visit. The lively ambiance, perhaps fueled by the energy of a Friday night, was accompanied by music that bordered on deafening. While this detracted from the speakeasy mystique, it didn't dampen our spirits entirely. The drinks, on the other hand, were a highlight of the experience. Crafted with care and precision, they offered a delightful array of flavors to tantalize the taste buds.
While I find speakeasy-s a bit pretentious with the “no flash” and phone-shaming, this was actually quite the pleasant surprise. Strong drinks with a unique feel, mostly because of the red lighting. Looks crumby from the outside… but a nice cocktail spot if you’re nearby.

Very nice ambience. I liked the red lights :) Guy who led us to the entrance was friendly. No dance floor though. I ordered a drink—which was $13—and it was just fruity juice. Good thing I didn’t tip her beforehand.
It's okay, interesting idea. Cups are dirty, music is okay, drinks are okay, nothing amazing. If you want a place to drink and eat but nothing exciting really exciting, this a good place to go before going to a different bar. The password ask is fun for a date, and can impress them since you'd be an insider but the bar is underwhelming.
Decent bar with well made cocktails. The service is a bit subpar and the bartenders were somewhat rude. The speakeasy element really falls short, it feels almost as an afterthought and doesn’t really come together.
You need a password to get in. In general it has really cool vibes especially if its your first time seeing everything. It was also quite crowded the time I went and there was somewhat of a wait to get some drinks which were mediorce and kinda pricey.
The password and "exclusivity" concept was fun. Tables are first come first serve and we're fortunate to get one center room. Was not aware they had staff waiting tables so ordered at the bar. Maybe short staff? Music was mixture of genres and not too loud. Friend and I were still able to have conversation without feeling drowned out by it. It's earned a future visit.
The atmosphere was interesting here. When you first walk in, you are greeted by a deep red color engulfing the entire bar and it's patrons. To the right you'll see a mountainous bar with every type of spirit you can imagine against the wall. Super cool. Right away, I liked the vibe. Once we got seated it was a bit different. The drinks were quite good and made by a solid bartender, but it seemed like every staff member we talked too didn't want to be there or care to respond. It might have just been a bad night but I'll give it another shot in the future.
This spot initially had great vibes with a large selection of nice liquor. The thing is- with the moody red light and the speakeasy concept it’s gotta be more cozy! The rows of tall tables made it feel like a slow restaurant. If only they replaced the high tops and dining tables with something like couches , chairs, and low coffee tables , the vibe would be less confusing and more comfortable to hang out in. If they switch up the interiors juuuust a bit this could be one of the coolest, sexiest spots in Pasadena but for now it looks like a half executed concept.
Drinks tasted like juice, definitely they are skimpy on the liquor, we also noticed not allot of selection of branded tequilas, lower quality tequilas. The entrance to the place (kitchen) was very hot! No AC was on and the guy who let us in was sweating bullets. The establishment was overly crammed with tables and people sitting didn’t seem to be drinking just chatting away.

Reads like a superficial imitation of a Speakeasy. Despite a nearly empty bar, service was very slow. There's a very limited menu and when we tried to order a classic cocktail that wasn't on the menu (negroni), the waiter informed us there was no bartender who could make that. That wall of booze didn't really seems to serve any purpose other than decoration. The intense red lighting in the picture isn't a filter. There are better options nearby. Not recommended.

The good: Emailed (nicely) and got the password in about two minutes. Email has instructions that were just good enough to find the place. Email tells you the vibe to expect and the dress code, and honestly, I love the ambience. I had a mint julep (fresh mint! I'm volume!) and really enjoyed it, compared favorably with the best mint julep I've had. There's an extremely well stocked and intimidating wall of liquor, complete with a rolling ladder. The bad: my second order was a sazerac (off menu but an entirely reasonable request for a craft cocktail bar). And, sorry not sorry, the drink in front of me is not a sazerac. It has ice in it. There was no absinthe or herbsaint rinse. It does not smell or taste like any sazerac I've been served. I'm grading harshly but I'd rather you tell me "I don't know how to make that" than for you to serve me...this. My advice: come here for the vibe and stick to ordering on menu. Beware coming here for a craft cocktail experience as the menu is quite limited.

Take a pass!! ... Dishonorable people. went in at 1245am (supposed to close at 2am) and ordered a couple of drinks.. Only to find out they decided last minute to close early and we had to leave almost full drinks on the table. Around $30... They said we would have plenty of time to finish them but 5 minutes after we ordered them they said they were closing and we had to go. Not cool or honest. You have been warned.
I entered this establishment, at 6:00pm - right at opening time. The front door was open. A person who identified himself as, "security", escorted me and my date out. He told us we could reenter, in three minutes. Needless to say, we did not reenter. Neither will we return.
