Food is good. Drinks are awesome especially during happy hour from 2 to 5. But if you order thru the Sonic Drive Thru app, you can get happy hour prices all day on drinks plus they often have promotions.
I love the concept of Sonic! There's no fast food joints like this one in Mexico, and I love the idea of being able to just go in your car, or even sit there, and enjoy a good meal, or just a quick dessert. I went for the 1/2 ice cream treat at like 10pm (I accidentally ordered something that wasn't half off, but whatever lol) and it was delicious! I got like a thick ice cream shake, and the icecream tastes awesome, and it wasn't melting or anything. Would totally go back! I think it's a great spot if you wanna hang out.
I stopped in to get something to eat on December 1 2020. My order was complete, correctly made and made quickly. The employee that took my order was friendly. What really made my day was when she told me to have a Super Sonic Day. I'm from the lower Valley and I'd stop by again if I was in the area again. Thanks Sonic staff.
Just like most all Sonic Drive-ins, the cheeseburgers and tater tots were delicious. It helped that we were hungry too. The food got gobbled up quickly. We parked on the end overlooking the volleyball (sand-filled) court. Nice touch having a volleyball court! Our waitress was friendly and courteous. When I asked for some candied mints she looked on her tray and realized she was out. She quickly ran to get them and ran back. Wow, wow, one wouldn't have expected that sort of reaction, nor service!! AAA+ for this place!!!
Love going to Sonic. Their fresh fruit slush is always great during the 🔥 days. The service is perfect. Always smiling and just having a fun time. Just a fun place to go and eat.
We are shocked and great full...we were looking for something good to eat n with under are budget do to are lack of work with this hard times that we are in I notice the staff as well as the Managers running back n forth taking out the orders as quick as they can them not knowing that we were low on cash They gave us two free meals I’m thankful and appreciative of there humble service. 07/19/20 10pm. My food was hot and my burger and fries were good! My order took a bit to get to me, but of course, I went during lunch. The employees were all working hard and as fast as possible to get to all the orders fast.
Food is always great but it takes just a little too long to get your food. If you have a big order, it's best to double check your order as it will almost always be wrong. Try to go when it's not busy and you won't be disappointed.
Fast and friendly service. Came here because I had a gift card. It's a little pricey but worth it.. oh surely come next time. The burger was great. I forgot to ask for no mayo but then when I took a bite of it, the burger taste even better. Go for the double bacon cheese burger. No wonder I paid a lot. Go big or go home I say. 👌👍
I had to edit this because I posted on the wrong place - sorry - but the star rating and level of praise is the same. You go to Sonic mainly for the Chili Cheese Dogs and the delicious ice cream. But everything else on the menu is on point too. The tenders are crispy and tasty. The corn dogs are done just right. And don't tell my mama but I'd rather have a Sonic Grilled Cheese instead of the ones I grew up with. And this location is always on point. Staff is friendly and quick. Food is always fresh and what you expect every time.
Great food, nostalgic atmosphere, car hop Nathalia was the best and even was nice enough to bring back extra condiments after we forgot to ask for them the first time. Definitely going again!
Busy afternoon at this Sonic drive-in, but I received my order quickly and complete. As soon as I pressed the red button an enthusiastic employee took my order without any problems. She reviewed and finalized my order and I was able to pay with my debit card; after about 15 minutes a nice employee brought me my full order. This drive-in is well kept, nice and tidy, employees were very nice and professional.
It was super packed, but we got our order in a reasonable amount of time! I had asked for ranch with my chicken but got gravy instead. I had asked again but still hadn’t gotten anything for a while. I totally understand if they forgot, because it was really busy. At that point I had asked twice. I got off and asked a manager that was passing by. I have literally never gotten faster service in my life. She literally RAN! In. The. Rain. She apologized for the inconvenience and gave me a coupon. Whoever you are, I appreciate you! Thank you for being so quick and kind.<3

Picture this: The kids are fussy cause' we've had a crap day with the optometrist- so we're all just in a mood today. Everything is going wrong, everyone we meet is being mean for no reason and as I arrive here... Imense decompression. The atmosphere changes. The kids start having fun, i am having a blast watching them play. We get a small treat and the snacks are SO YUMMY, and the lady who brings it has such a kind demeanor I just... melted. ❤️ Miguel even listened to my 5 year old talk which is something most folk dont do- respond to kids and treat them like little people. Aaanndd that just put the cherry on top of an already lovley experience!

Eve and Derick were amazing! They handled the Saturday night rush extremely well. Shame on management for having them understaffed!! Eve was hustling and the food came out great, it’s atrocious the conditions they were made to deal with.
I love going for ice cream, but sometimes they serve it like they're running low on stuff. Wish they were more consistent
Went by yesterday and ordered Spicy Jumbo popcorn chicken and also a strawberry cream slush. They got the slush wrong so I had to send it back, had to wait another 30 minutes and finally when I got my slush..they gave me the wrong thing again. I just gave up and went home all sad.
Something always seems to be holding them up when we go in the drive-thru. They always have us upset with the wait but as soon as we have a bite of the burger everything is good with the world. They are absolutely delicious. The cheese is always perfectly melted and the burgers are served warm. We also enjoy taking the kids to their outdoor playground.
The food and drinks are always decent. My only qualm was the wait time. It took over 15 minutes to receive my one order of mozzarella sticks. I'm sure they were very busy.
Sonic has become a recent favorite of mine, especially with their Happy Hour prices on drinks, including the RT 44 size! Food is pretty consistent at this location, however I've docked a star off the review because drinks can get either mixed up or the flavor is hardly there. One day you can have a fully flavored cherry slush, another day it will not be as flavorful. Also have had my slushes mixed up with another kind, such as receiving a strawberry one instead of cherry somewhat frequently. Bar what I've said above, it's still a good place to get a quick bite.
The food, drinks and desserts are great. However it took 23 minutes for a 44oz soda, small slush and medium mozzarella sticks, through the app no less. This is the second time, we have had this issue. The screen notified us the order was on its way, 10 minutes before having to inquire about it. Then it took an additional 5 minutes after the fact, to actually receive the order. What gives?
Food was hot n fresh. I really liked the wait was not long at all since I was on my lunch break. Tots were a little too crispy for my liking but the Grilled Cheeseburger hit the spot. Might be bias but the Whataburger patty melt is better in my opinion. Overall good service and food.
Have visited many times before during happy hour no issues. Just visited Sat 5/8 and they said they changed the hrs to after a certain time and they were not honoring the morning happy hours that were clearly placed on the window next to the cash register in front of the establishment. Weslaco never has changed their hours but according to them each one is different.
Pros: It's sonic, good, cheap fast food and in a convenient, safe location. Cons: workers have an attitude problem and get annoyed whenever you ask them to do a mundane task like fill up an ice cream sundae and actually put a cherry in it. This is a fast food restaurant so that's to be expected but it's still annoying regardless.
The food is great. The burgers and drinks are delicious. Prices are average for fast food. But their service is horrible. It used to be my favorite milkshake place but I'll never get milkshakes anymore after two of them had black pieces of banana. Not a few darkened pieces, it looked like the whole banana was bad. Also, they take a long time to take your order and often mess it up. The place is run by teens. They need a manager.
Order a coke with lemon wedges not a single wedge was given. Guy who took order charged the wedge asked me about 3 times if I wanted lemons or lime. The only other item I ordered was a vanilla ice cream in a cup. So more of an issue with the soda. Service was friendly.
I took my bosses daughter and her friend to get something to eat here. When one of them ordered the popcorn chick. She told me the chicken was good, but the barbecue sauce smelled sour and they didn't put enough to give it more taste. The sour smell I tried to figure out the cause. Either it's the ingredients in the barbecue sauce or if it's been exposed in the sun or out of the counter for too long it may get spoiled.
Like a lot of fast food reviews, this is only based at this location for this expe rience. I wanted to try the peanut butter burger they were offering, and I wanted to try ordering on the app for the first time. Both were...meh. The app is fine. Bright, responsive, and fairly easy to manipulate. That said, it could use some tweaks. The ability to add more or remove more items Ala carte would be nice, such as extra patties or going unless. Also, when I arrived, the screen at the drive stop wasn't working, so I didn't know what number I was at. When I informed the cashier through the speaker box, she received the wrong info and spent an extra 10 minutes going car to car looking for me. Obviously, there are still some bugs in the system. As for the burger itself? I know some places up north do this combination of peanut butter on their burger, and if you think of some Asian dishes that use peanuts as garnishes with meat dishes, again doesn't seem that odd. So, in trying it, I can say that it's kind of just there. It really doesn't add anything or take away anything, either. It's hard to describe as anything other than non offensive but not necessary either. I like Sonic a lot. The blasts, the tots and the toasters are all staples in my fast food life, but for this experience, it was a very meh. 2 1/2* out of 5.
Love buying fountain drinks from here, but the service is so slow for just drinks. Pulled up to the drive through and waited at the speaker and was never serviced till I pulled up to the window and saw the person there was just talking to the other employees.
Ordered online before arriving and had to wait over 15 min. Was only served because I called and asked where my food was. This is the second time this happened. The 1st time i waited over 20 min and then they had to remake my food because it was cold, this is what they told me. The new double cheeseburger I ordered was horrible, the meat was very dry, there was a little bit of condiments, a few cooked onions and a dab of cheese. Very disappointing 😞. Would have returned if had time. Not sure I would recommend this Sonic. Even takes a long time just to get drinks when I've gone before.
Service was slow and whoever took the drink order was a little of their game. An order was placed for diet cherry limeade and the first attempt was sweetened. The second attempt missed the request for extra ice because they dumped it out. No attention to detail. Drive through.
The food it's alright but the wait time it's crazy, 30 to 40 min for just a single slushe
When ordering medium drinks still charged large and ordered red bull slushy and didnt get it but still paid for it and tipped the waiter 2 dollars. But food is good just work on making sure yall get orders right. It wasn't worth my time to get it right
The food was extremely greasy, over cooked tots, and meat was over cooked. Friendly servers and management. Good location.
The service was bad. They got my order incomplete. I asked for 2 number1's toasted. I asked for mustard and there was no mustard. The burger tasted burnt. I asked for tater tots with cheese. There was no cheese. They then gave one small tater tot with cheese. I asked for strawberry lemonade with light ice. It had a lot of ice.
Horrible issues with ordering through the app. "Staff swipes / marks it as if it was delivered to you to take it off the screen but sometimes the employees forget to take it out." -as per management when i brought up this complaint. I see no point in using the app to order ahead when customers using drive through get their food and drinks faster.
I hate to complain but they mess up my orders pretty frequently.It’s a problem because I always order thru the app which gives clear instructions. I ordered the supersonic burrito thru the app and removed the sausage. They brought me a burrito with bacon ( it doesn’t come in it to begin with). They then fixed it but didn’t put any tots in it!
Usually have a really good experience here with my friends but this time it was so different. Me and my bf ordered our food which was 1 drink, 1 ice cream, and a medium sized fries. We waited for an hour with our order no where in sight!! In the end we left because we were really hungry. Pretty sad about it.
They made my order wrong. This has happened two times to me this past week. The first time, they didn't add bacon to 2 bacon supersonic stack burgers. This second time, they made the 2 bacon supersonic stack burgers the way they come even tho I made a few edits. Call me a kid, but I did not want onion in my burger. It changes the flavor of the whole burger. Could not enjoy it today
I live next to the Sonic I visited about five times a week it is by far the worst Sonic ever they take forever I cannot express how much does Sonic needs a good manager they take forever how long does it take to make a slushie and when I say forever about 20 minutes if not longer every single time it doesn't matter what you order fries are never fresh burgers overall Sonic is horrible and every time I think it's going to get better and actually I'm just going to be going to Jack in The box it's right next and I don't need guest relations to reach out with a free slushie keep your and get new management you do not live up to the sonic name they should strip you from the name
I asked them to add garnish to the burger. Meaning lettuce, tomatoes and onions. They took the whole bag back inside and then returned the bag without anything. 😒 It was frustrating. Like the people who work there don't understand.
If I could leave 0 stars I would, the service is their, but they dont seem to pay attention to the orders. I've been trying to give them a second chance and everytime they mess up on my orders, even when you tell them in person what you want they mess it up. They take long to even process your order out, took me 30min to get a ice-cream for my son one day 30min!!!!. Never going to this sonics ever again.
We arrived when the store was not busy and ordered a large coke. It took over ten minutes for the car hop to make it to my car. That same car hop could be seen on her cell phone in the restaurant while she was in the store. It was a very disappointing overall experience.
I always use my APP. So, I arrived at 8:09 pm and notified it on my app on which stall I was. I saw that cars were coming and going and getting their meals before me. I spoke to an employee to see what's going on with my order. I received my meal @ 8:41. SMH. Our burgers were cold and fries too. My strawberry sprite tasted watered down from the ice. Very bad.

I haven’t eaten here in a long time so I decided to try it. The food was not fresh whatsoever. I threw it all away. I told myself I wouldn’t go back but I decided to give them another chance, omg! Again! My order came out super fast and I immediately knew it was bad news! Sure enough get home and hamburger and fries looked and tasted like they were from last night! Never again!!!
Worst service ever! I was there for almost 30min without anybody attending me. More people got there after & they were attended before me. Then after pressing the button around 8 times they finally answered & told me any orders would take about 45min... 45minutes for 3 corn dogs? My lunch ended & I didn't get to eat thanks Sonic for ruining my lunch.
Once took over 20 minutes in the drive thru for a simple order. They gave me a coupon for $1 off.. and it gets better.. it expired the same day and couldn't apply it to the current purchase. No complimentary food or money back or anything for waiting that long.
Ordered a sundae and a water. Waited 10 minutes. Pushed the call button to check on order. Girl who took our order said she had trouble with her screen when she took the original order but she already put it in and would charge us when we got our order. We said okay and waited another 10 minutes and still Nothing. Decided we weren't going to wait any longer and just left. I understand mistakes and being busy but there weren't that many customers when we showed up. Kind of disappointing.
Ordered a burger w/Mustard as dressing. 3 x's it was brought incorrect. My receipt stated my order correctly yet they still could not get it right. I guess when it doesn't come out of your pocket there is no worries, probably the reason most restaurants go under.
Went to Sonic for some refreshing drinks that ended up being not so refreshing. Not only did I end up waiting more than 30 minutes for my order. When it finally arrived the milkshake and slushies were all melted. I told the employee about it and she just said that they were like that and left. It was a disappointing visit.
So far worst service from a single fast-food restaurant I've ever experienced. The drive thru rep Brenda never took the order until I pulled up to the window and tapped on the window to give it to her, and seemed the speaker didn't work but no one came out to help us so I waited 5 mins before pulling up. She originally handed the wrong order to me, and ultimately messed mine up anyway. Thanks, Sonic. The kids you hire are just amazing at problem solving. Maybe have a manager available next time, you think?
Not worth our money. The beverages that are half price on the app they put 3 parts of ice on them so you pay for 1/3 of the actual beverage. I called the manager because I made three sips and my beverage was all ice and his response was ordered correctly next time with less ice the master recipe says that we put 3/3 of the cup of ice. why would anyone want to pay for ice instead of the beverage I guess just Sonic , not me
We reserved it and they already had it reserved for others yet they still told us everything was open. Workers are throwing our change back in a rude way. Not the type of environment I was expecting.
Poor customer service from the manager. Onion rings were burnt to a crisp and when we returned then they stated they wouldn't be ready til 4 pm. 2 hours to make them is rediculous. Asked if we wanted something else and we asked for jalapeño bombers. We've been waiting for 20 minutes for them. If I could I would give them a -5 review. This is the second time it happens to me.
I ordered a Dr Pepper Float and the Dr Pepper tasted flat, so I asked if I could change it for something else….. they actually tried to arguing with me about the drink that I tasted, but not them. Was very inappropriate…..I use to work for a Sonic when I was younger and we believed that the customer was always right especially if they are paying. We didn’t question them or tried to explain to them how something was made. If they didn’t like it…. We replaced it…… simple as that. I wish that our young people cared more about their jobs and job duties….
Waited 30 minutes after ordering and paying for 3 shakes just for them to tell us that the machine wasn't working. I wish they'd let us know sooner. Then they offered to give us Sonic Blasts instead, to which we agreed since we had paid already. We received them and they had a little bit of the mix ins on top but the rest was just simple vanilla soft serve with no mix ins. Very disappointed.
Worst customer service. We came today at 10:48 and this girl just told us they weren't taking orders. We asked if they were closed and the girl just looked at us from the outside on the headset and hung up on us. Everytime we come to this one it's the worst customer service. To the manager from this establishment check your employees because they are the most rude employees ever.
Ugh! This place always running out of items. In addition, second time ordering a unsweetened tea and it was so gross! Clean your tea bins!!! I will have to start traveling 20 min to the 10th st location because they clean their tea bins! Will not go to this location again. Plus long waits for drinks! Get it together! It’s obvious the workers don’t care. Save your self the trouble people it’s more worth it to go to another location.
Was waiting 15 minutes for 2 drinks i had to leave ridiculous waiting time.
Never am I going here again, first off the service is slow, and the drinks are horrible. And to top it off I was finishing my drink and noticed something I side of it! The drink I ordered was just a Dr.Pepper when I opened up the lid there was a dirty piece of plastic inside and dirt at the bottom of the cup too. Don’t go here anymore people !! And if you get drinks please check them you never know what is at the bottom of it!

Worse service ever waited a long time for just ice cream. . I then ordered a hot dog Waited for more than 20min and still no food I finally gave up and asked for a refund and left with no food. Still waiting for my refund.
No chairs available only 2 tables to sit on. They messed up my order and if it wasn’t because I went to ask for the correct order they wouldn’t of never brought it out. Young girl has bad attitude.

Maintenance needed ISRAEL BERAZA.... Second time different stall waiting 10min to be attended and nobody acknowledge you. The machines dont work. "If there is no sound, it's not working" I don't know that... put a sign NOT working!!!
Never answered the drive thru so I went around thinking it wasn’t working. I waited because I could a worker there busy so after a bit of being ignored I honk my horn and seen another employee male ignore me also. I was getting ready to leave and the female finally came to the window. I asked her if the intercom for the drive thru wasn’t working and she replied I answered but you had already come around so that told me that she knew I was at the window and was ignoring me. Very unprofessional and rude. I’m a very understanding person and I would have understood but you don’t have to be rude and ignore me. It wasn’t busy either because nobody was in front or behind me.
“Josh” was completely rude and kept saying my order would be out and after 30 minutes finally. I decided to give the place a second chance. A lady named Katie took my order, I let her know what happened she came out apologized and made everything right.
have been waiting over an hour in my car for 2 meals and they do not seem to even know what my order is I came when there was only 2 vehicles. I asked one of the employees what was taking so long after waiting patiently for 30 minutes, she couldn't even seem to find my order(ticket) she came to ask me what the order was and did not even bother relaying the message to the manager after over an hour of waiting the manager on duty finally was able to find the ticket which is ridiculous. I work in the fast food industry and as management none the less I would never have a customer wait that long. Rodrigo did take care of our order after that but either way for no one to know our order is seriously ridiculous the female employee literally never came back nor did she let management know of the situation.
I checked in at a time when the restaurant was full. My order took a long time but I understood as the place was packed everywhere. I returned today a Tuesday, where it was nowhere near as full. I waited 14 minutes AFTER I checked in to receive my order. While I waited, someone else came by with someone elses order asking if it was mine. Another vehicle arrived after me and ordered at the restaurant. I know because when you press the button to order it makes a loud noise. This person even though ordering and paying after me received their order when I did. Unfortunately, this will be my last time going to this Sonic.
Got here at 3:02 pressed the red button immediately now it’s 3:17 still have not taken order ,I’m leaving :/
Food was good the only issue was i saw one of the workers put a dog in the trash can area and lock him inside until a while later when the animal control came . Douche bag type 💩
For one they over charged my card and kept playing dumb saying they can’t find my receipt then I said can’t you reprint it , They said it would take a really long time to reprint it for me .. then proceeded to wait 35 minutes moreee bc the food wasn’t brought to us while we were the only people here .. then still kept forgetting more items … I had to go to the front n wait for them to bring my refund back said to be in 3 days .
i do not recommend this location. we waited over 45 minutes for ONE drink. many people up and left due to how long the staff was taking and many got down from their vehicles to go to the front and ask what the hold up was after the staff wasn't answering the red button call. AND might i add, my drink was watered down by the time i got it. very dissatisfied.
The food sucks there I ordered a large pickle fry and it was less than halfway in the container Not just that they were old and stale. The onlybgood thing was the playground for the kids,but the tables stay dirty from previous customers. Employees do Not wipe the down at All!
Horrible service do not recommend!! I asked for a Coca Cola no ice and guess what ? HALF OF THE CUP PACKED WITH ICE!!! Ordered a coffee IT CAME FULL OF SYRUP no coffe taste.. so I asked to switch for me and the didn’t even want to so they did and guess what ??? Double the syrup this time And it doesn’t end there, had grabbed 5 sauces and only revived 2 and they were also wrong!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE DO NOT RECOMMEND
Me and my brother went 2 days ago ordered 2 combos with extra pickles and the drinks to have no ice. When we got our food there was only 2 pickels on each burger and everything was cold. I thought maybe the drinks would be how I ordered but when we got them the drinks had mostly ice.
Honestly I would give this place less than a start but there is no option for it… we waited for 20min, yes 20min before the even took our order I clicked the red button I kid you not like 8-10 times before we even got a response… it took an additional 30-35min to get our food, COLD!!! Not to mention completely wrong, I do not recommend this location AT ALL, at this point you’re better off cooking a home if you need a fast meal!
Every time we come to this Sonic, we use the mobile app to make our order. We park, check in, and then wait for 30 minutes. Yeah, that’s right, 30 minutes, sometimes even more. And it’s not until we ask for a status on our order that they bring it to us. And it’s not the first time it happens. Very disappointed. I think twice before coming because they always take forever.
To start off we arrived at 7:30pm we were going to play volleyball so we stayed for a while. We didn’t get our food till 9:30 we had to keep going to the door and hurrying them up and we say so many orders just sitting there. Our food was cold and nasty by the time they gave it to us not to mention they gave some of our orders to others and were giving us a hard time in replacing it. Manager is the worst! People had to get a refund and leave from how long they were taking car hoppers seem to not be able to talk to find the person who’s order is ready we had to tell one talk talk what’s the name! Because he was just standing blankly Horrible experience all in general!
Patty & bacon in the burger were cold like they had been sitting there for a while. Cheese wasn't even melted. Chili cheese tater tots were cold as well. Very disappointing because the previous times I've gone the good was 10 times better but during the day hours. I'm guessing the night crew just doesn't care and just wants to go home.
This place is getting worse by the week. 5/30/25 I ordered two orders of 5 piece chicken tenders/ strips. Waited almost 30 minutes to receive only one order of the 5 piece tenders, waited another 20 minutes to receive the complete order. ALL the tenders were super thin like a thin mint cookie a few were a wierd round shape like a half dollar. It was like they cut a regular chicken tender/strip in half. I had to come back talk to manger and wait another 15-20 minutes for order to be made again. The wait is too long when there are hardly any customers. Half the time the order is made wrong.
Waited over 15 minutes after pressing the button, and no one ever answered. I use to love coming here, but it has severely gone down hill. It always takes forever for service, and when you do get your food it tastes old and disgusting. You're better off going to the nearby Stars. Faster service, fresher food, and an overall just better experience
I guess this crew is just plain lazy to make a customer have a great experience. I was by myself In the drive thru lane and I still waited over 18 minutes for my order. Not to mention my kids orders were wrong. I specifically asked for plain hamburger for kids meals and they were made with ketchup and cheese. I also received my food and drive home to realize what a sloppy job they did. I would not go there again !!! Very bad food presentation and preparation.
Waited about an hour , 3 different employees came out for a total number of 5 times just to have my order wrong every single time even after constantly showing the recipt. At the end , I just left with the wrong order ( instead of chili dog it was chili tots) yet again due to the wait. 2 hot dogs and a burrito that couldn't make it out to me. Showed up with many cars around, coming and going , and I was about the last vehicle that left. To top it off the " jumbo" chicken was just breading/crumbs.
