We found this little gem, tucked away in a little neighborhood off the main road, and all I can say is Wow, what a find! I would pick highlights from our meal, but they were all excellent. The burrata is rich and creamy, with thin slices of prosciutto to make a perfect bite. The mussels come in a rich, flavorful broth that is complex and not heavy. We saved it to dip in on throughout our meal. The meatballs were most and flavorful, in a beautiful marinara sauce. Oh, and the salmon carpaccio with sliced fennel and greens in a light, citrus dressing was divine! The gnocchi were light and fluffy, in an amazing sauce. It was like eating little pillows of potatoes. The pasta in the special fettuccine, was light and delicate, unlike any I've had before. Finally, the shrimp ravioli we're cooked to perfection, and once again, an amazing sauce. In fact, all of the sauces were amazing. It would be unfair to single one out as better than the others. On top of all this, the service was excellent! Highly recommend!

Everything was standout but the gnocchi was to die for. So so soft, pillowy and in a perfect bed of mushroom, pancetta and cream. Really good service to boot - attentive, warm while unobtrusive. One of my most pleasant dinner experiences of late

We enjoyed a fabulous Mother's Day dinner here. We savored and devoured our 3 courses. My crabcake appetizer was the best crabcake I've ever eaten (over 4 decades). We shared our dishes marvelling at how beautiful and scrumptious everything was, especially the chocolate mousse cake and lobster ravioli. Their portion sizes were perfect. The service was friendly and they had impeccable timing, clearing our plates quickly. The next course appeared a minute or 2 later. We ate inside which has a cozy atmosphere. Here you can watch the staff navigate in their tiny kitchen. It was easy to make an online reservation, and there is also outside seating which overlooks Columbus Park. We look forward to bringing friends and family here in the future.

Update: I have no idea how - but it keeps getting better. Adding some new photos of the amazing rigatoni blush sauce pasta we had. This is my go-to spot in Philly ❤️ — Oh my goodness. I adore this place. Went here with a friend as a vegetarian and the food was phenomenal. I have never seen an authentic Italian restaurant be so accommodating and helpful for vegetarian guests. They offered to have everything on the menu be customized to be vegetarian. It was so kind. Our waiter patiently walked us through the options, and was so friendly. The food… to die for. The gnocchi is particular was outstanding, but my friend also really enjoyed the tomato pesto pasta. Ironically, the burrata was not outstanding, but with everything else being a hit, it was alright. The tiramisu is the best I’ve had in Philly. I’ve gone back twice — and will be there much more.

Burrata is a quaint and cozy BYOB restaurant located in a quite but lively neighborhood tucked away in south Philly. We had such an amazing dinner with our parents here! Reservations are suggested. There wasn’t an empty seat in the house all night and now we know why! For starters… Fresh sesame bread was served with an olive oil and vinegar combination. Our family started with 3 appetizers. The beet and arugula salad, burrata decorated with roasted bell peppers and a fig balsamic glaze, and the breaded and baked smoked Gouda special. All three were perfectly prepared and presented. The friendly and knowledgeable wait staff kept our water glasses full and we never had to wait to have our table cleared. Place settings were refreshed after each course. We decided to try 4 different entrees for the main course. The truffle mushroom gnocchi was the best gnocchi we’ve ever had! It melted in your mouth. The lobster and crab raviolis were bursting with savory flavors. The rigatoni was so fresh and delicious. Each bite, I was silently whispering “wow” to myself. And last, but certainly not least, the fettuccine with shrimp and a light cream sauce! It’s a simple yet elegantly classic dish here. We highly recommend everything we had. For dessert, we tried the limoncello cake with a light semi-sweet whipped icing topped with black raspberry drizzle. We also had the pistachio ice cream. 3 scoops was enough to share between 4 people. Both desserts were the perfect way to end the evening! Date night, first date, family night, or girls night out? We highly recommend making reservations with Burrata today!

This was incredible. Best Burrata I’ve ever had. The pastas we ordered (gnocchi and rigatoni) were unique and rich in fresh flavors. The owner checked in as well, he is awesome. Small additional detail but the plates were gorgeous. The menu is small but I still felt I had to many options because it all looked so good.

Fantastic neighborhood gem. Food was flavorful, cozy, inviting, and fun. Not fussy or arrogant, but cooked with love, execution, and straight from the heart. My favorite was the Burrata dish, a cold cheese dish with the seductively sumptuous balsamic glaze and the best thin-sliced prosciutto I ever had (thankfully not too salty as it was packed with flavor). The bread was fantastic for mopping up the rich tomato based seafood app. My wife and I loved the seafood spaghetti dish, although the dark brown (think buckwheat) spaghetti surprised us at first. The rich white wine broth and clams were fantastic, but the noodles were perplexing and intriguing (and fantastic!). The whole wheat made it seem like it might be tough but it was smooth and chewy, while still hearty. And yet it almost felt too soft and about melt, although there was a firm elasticity to it! The scallops risotto was rich and decadent. Temp was good. The service was good, the outdoor ambience was wonderful, the napkin's blue-gray hue resonated with my wife, and the plates were gorgeous. Overall, it was excellent and worthy of going back and recommending to friends and family. The meal may not have been technically flawless (the delicious octopus could stand to be grilled or cooked a tad longer), but it was still perfectly authentic, heartfelt, and admirably executed. It straddled the fine line between elevated/elegant and homey. It accomplished what it set out to do and delivered on what one would expect! We live outside the city, so we won't be able to visit often, which may be good, because this is such a fine neighborhood establishment—if I lived nearby, I'd definitely be in danger of blowing my monthly dining budget!

My partner and I went here last night around 7:30 pm with a dinner reservation. It was a full house and we were greeted by this very kind young woman. We requested an outside table however she did advise us it was going to be an additional 10 minute wait but if we wished she can accommodate us inside. We agreed to eat inside and it’s very cozy with a lovely atmosphere. I must say my partner and myself greatly enjoyed ourselves! All of the food was great! I look forward to returning.

Excellent quaint local Italian restaurant in south Phillie one of the best squash spuds and bolognese sauce I have tasted!!! Great service! Small but tasty menu!!!

Really enjoyed dinner here. The gnocchi was pillow-y soft. All items were outstanding. And the service was the best. Would go again. Also you can bring your own alcohol. We brought and mixed aperol spritz for an aperitif and wine for dinner.

We went by the recommendations on maps and this place totally lived up to our expectations. We decided on two pastas: the ravioli (excellent, and full of flavor), and the special which was Orecchiette with shiitake mushrooms and a white wine sauce which was extremely fresh and delicious. For dessert we picked the limoncello cake, which was fresh and not too heavy. Perfect finishing touch.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. the staff was very attentive, making sure they changed all the plates and silverware after each course. The appetizers were very good and well portioned.. the Mussels, Gnocchi and Pork shank were phenomenal..

Awesome restaurant with reasonable prices. We tried to walk-in a few weeks ago on a Friday, but they we're completely booked up. Definitely make a reservation for the weekends. Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. Plus they make everything to order so they were willing to modify dishes for us. All the food was delicious. The servers were very friendly and the restaurant itself was clean and cozy. Great place for a date. Also BYOB!

Amazing Italian byob in south philly. Great outdoor seating during pandemic. Great service, delicious food. Atmosphere is vibrant, definitely call for a reservation because it is always crowded.

My fiancé and I came here on a friend’s recommendation, and we are so grateful. We went with what was on the specials and highly recommend it. Very friendly service and nice atmosphere and great neighborhood. We went for a little walk in the park to digest our dinner a bit, really lovely way to end my birthday.

Almost don’t want to post and keep this gem to myself! Food and atmosphere is fantastic. Small corner neighborhood establishment. It is BYO with no additional charge. First time having the dish called buratta. Fresh and tasty! Octopus is cooked to perfect. Chewy inside and a bit crispy outside. Gnocchi is so soft and melts in your mouth! Normally don’t do desert but tiramisu and lemon sorbet are my favorites. Totally worth coming to and recommend to any body coming from out of town!

We selected Burrata based on ratings and were not disappointed. Everything about the place feels authentic. We were greeted at the door and the service was first class. They were attentive but didn't rush us. It's BYOB and there is a liquor store nearby. We were a party of 7 and everyone loved their meals, including the vegan! The burrata appetizer was excellent. The homemade gnocchi was the best I've ever had.

We recently celebrated my husband's birthday at Burrata. As always, the food is delicious. Highly recommend the pork chop. I seriously don't think one can find a better pork chop. It's cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful! Thanks to Antonio for his fabulous service and for making our night memorable. 8/18/21 Our son recently graduated college and he chose Burrata for his celebration dinner. Such delicious food, great service and as always, a most memorable occasion. One could literally go for their homemade bread and Burrata appetizer, it's that good. All entrees are delicious. Looking forward to more meals at Burrata. Updated 5/17/21. This was our first time at Burrata and I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our dinner. We ate outside and where our table was, we were by ourselves. Our server, Antonio, was wonderful! He was professional, funny, spoke Italian with my son and just made us feel like we were having dinner at his home. We chose three appetizers, the Burrata with prosciutto, the seafood stufato and the beet salad. They were all delicious! Our entrees were the seared scallops, the potato gnocchi, the orechetti and the pork chop. They were all so very good. My sincerest compliments to the chefs. The food was presented beautifully, was served hot and had so much flavor, I can't say enough about how good the food was. Our water was always filled and when I mentioned it was our daughter's birthday, tiramisu was brought out with a candle! Thank you, Burrata and Antonio for making this a most memorable occasion! We certainly will be having dinner here again.

If you haven’t been to Burrata yet, you’re missing out. The menu has something for every type of person. They also have specials that you may not see on the menu. Although the restaurant was small, the atmosphere was nice and it really didn’t feel cramped at all. Antonio, our server, did an excellent job from start to end. Always made sure the table was clean as well as getting new plates and utensils after the appetizer. Antonio was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to answer any questions I had. The prices are extremely reasonable and the food is beyond delicious (kudos to the cooks). I would easily suggest this place to anyone for a date night or just something casual.

This is one of the best Italian BYO's in South Philly. The owner is a true gem and you can tell he loves what he's doing. He has really poured his heart and soul into this place. He used to manage a restaurant out in Bryn Mawr which is how my family got to know him. When I was home a few weeks ago, my parents made a point of taking me and my brother here for one of our dinners that weekend. The food was incredible as was the service. We got seated almost immediately on a Friday night for our reservation at 8:30. That's so rare! We were treated to a delightful meal of antipasti, burrata, mussels, branzino, and PASTA PASTA PASTA. All pasta is fresh and homemade. Food comes out scorching hot. Oh and did I mention how f-ing good the dessert is? I don't even really like dessert usually. Praying I will get to go here when I am back in Philly over Thanksgiving.

An adorable and authentic Italian affair! Burrata has done a wonderful job in designing a cozy BYOB eatery with a variety of flavorful dishes to please any diner that sets foot in its inviting dining room. I visited here on my birthday last month. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I ordered a couple light appetizers (cauliflower and a salad), delicious. And for the main courses, my partner and I sampled the truffle gnocchi, spinach fettuccine, and the chicken Milanese. Everything was wonderful, fresh and hot, as it should be. The dessert was my favorite part, not by far though! The crème brûlée was so creamy and rich, and the perfectly caramelized sugar crust was the “icing on the cake” so to speak. I hope to return, until then, good luck, Burrata!

A top Philly BYOB spot for us now, hands down. Walked away amazed at every dish, from the bread on thru to the dessert (an amazing homemade crème brulée). We were even lucky enough to meet Dave, the proprietor. He really cares about this place and the food that leaves that kitchen 💯 Come hungry, bring some wine, leave happy

Most delicious food and a delightful experience at this philly local restaurant. We had seafood stufato, lamb shank, house pasta. For dessert we tried cream brûlée and all the food is fresh & authentic. Absolutely top notch. I will be going back again and again to this place.

Being a foodie in Philly is a dream because of places like Burrata. The staff always creates one of the most pleasant experiences, and the food is consistently delicious. In terms of BYOB’s, this tops the list for the city. Thrilled to have this in our city.

This is a BYOW place, so bring that bottle of wine and enjoy. The food was incredible--simple, well seasoned, and delicious. This place has everything that makes a great restaurant: small, intimate setting; impeccable service; small menu; and excellent food. I am one who would not normally state Italian food is my number one choice. This place makes me reconsider that statement.

Stellar dining!! Delicious fresh food. The octopus was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection and the mussels with spicy chorizo were delicious. Burrata and prosciutto were super fresh and high quality. My friend got the special house pasta which was made to order. Would 100% reccomend! Our waiters name was Laurie and she was funny, knowledgeable, and very very sweet. Thank you Burrata!

Burrata exceeded my expectations. Incredible Italian food, especially the seafood dishes. The special with lobster, mussels, calamari and fettuccini was out of this world. Service was attentive and the restaurant had an overall cozy feel. Will definitely be back

Service was impeccable, and the ambiance is perfect. But the food—specifically the risotto and the chicken—is what will have me coming back. This isn't just a great meal; it's a destination.

One of our favorite places in the city!! We live nearby and dine at least once a month. All the pasta is homemade and produce is bought daily (and locally) at the Italian market. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

Great unassuming neighborhood restaurant and the owner will serve you directly and really well. Get pasta (sausage, squid ink), burrata (for the name and the goodness in life), crème brûlée + limoncello bcos you only live once. Love the octopus but it slightly small (inflation baby :( ) )

a neighborhood gem. Burrata is such a good restaurant. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere invites you in. I will always recommend the mussels, carpaccio, orecchiette, and branzino but everything on the menu is consistently delicious. I recently went with a large party (7) and was surprised how easily we were accommodated by the restaurant as many places in Philly want parties under six. Joe was our server and he was fantastic! I can’t recommend this BYO enough.

Burrata is an Italian cheese that's creamy, rich, and utterly divine. The mozzarella shell gives way to a decadent stracciatella and cream center. It's a perfect appetizer or snack, especially when paired with fresh tomatoes, basil, and grilled bread. The texture is luscious, and the flavor is unique and indulgent. If you're a foodie or an Italian food fan, burrata is a must-try!"

Overall a lovely meal. The burrata was great and we all agreed the orecchiette was our favorite pasta dish. The lemoncello cake was the star of the show though and was so delicious.

I had high hopes for Burrata Philly, but unfortunately our experience fell short. From the moment we arrived, the service felt off. When we walked in and mentioned our reservation, the hostess greeted us with a noticeably flat and not so welcoming demeanor ( I understand that no everyone is a super smiley person but, after doing some observation of her with other tables, it is far from that) as if us being there was an inconvenience. We were seated without much warmth, and throughout the meal, I couldn’t help but notice that other tables (predominantly white guests) were greeted with smiles, friendly conversation, and consistent attention from staff. While the food was decent, it didn’t stand out for the price point. It wasn’t particularly expensive, but it also didn’t feel worth what we paid. The service is what really impacted our experience. After finishing our meal, my partner and I sat for about 15 minutes without anyone checking in on us or offering if we would be interested in desserts or the check. Meanwhile, the tables around us such as left and right next to us and the whole room were being attentively served, having desserts offered and explained in detail. We were just ignored, like we were low/last priority. Eventually, I had to flag down our server to ask for the check, and even then it took another 10 minutes for it to arrive( the server had to remind the hostess again to write up our check and she look back and just stares at me). Throughout the entire dinner, It was clear that we were getting treated differently because we were the only Asian party in a room where most of the guests were white, it was hard not to notice the contrast. If you are Asian , I suggest you to dress super expensive , look rich and look the part like their white customers to be treated equal. What’s more disappointing is that, after checking other reviews, I saw how the ownership responds to negative feedback. Regardless of what happened that cause those negative reviews to be written, the responses come across as defensive and dismissive, rather than receptive or professional. If I had seen those replies beforehand( My Boyfriend was the one who made the dinner reservation), I likely wouldn’t have chosen to dine here. Overall, while the food was average, the service and atmosphere were not up to the expectations of this restaurant. The feeling of being treated differently made this an uncomfortable and disappointing dining experience.
