Fitz on 4th is a super chill vegan spot in Queen Village and honestly one of the coolest places for plant-based eats in Philly. The vibe is cozy, colorful, and laid-back, perfect for a dinner date or catching up with friends over cocktails. The tapas-style menu means you get to sample a bunch of creative, flavorful dishes — the mushroom sliders, pretzels with pub cheese, and mac n cheese are absolute must-tries. Service is friendly and the timing of dishes is spot-on, so everything comes out fresh and hot. It feels like a spot you’d find in LA or NYC, but right here in Philly, with clean bathrooms and dog-friendly outdoor seating. It’s a bit of a splurge, but worth it for the experience and awesome food. Great for vegans, vegetarians, or anyone down for delicious, healthy eats!
Fitz on 4th was everything! The food was excellent—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully plated. The vibe was warm, cozy, and full of good energy. My family and I had such a great time here. It felt intimate yet lively, with a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. I’ll definitely be coming back. This spot is a gem on South Street!”
My experience was AMAZING Vey calm family friendly atmosphere. As I walked in I was greeted by Alex who was polite, swaggy and very welcoming. Alex gradually checked on in to make sure I was good. My server was Marquis who had a strong knowledge of the menu. I went to the restrooms to wash my hands, it was very clean and tidy with premium quality washcloths to dry your hands. Food was amazing and it’s also 100% vegan! I had the crab cakes and the gnocchi; the ingredients were so FRESH! Highly recommend if you’re in the Central Philadelphia area and you’re looking for plant-based eats check out Fitz on Fouth. They also have a bar with plenty of options to quench your thirst. I overheard the locals (who were not vegan) say how they were happy they came and loved the food because most vegan places they had prior didn’t have any flavor! I knew I was in the right place and this place has FLAVOR!!! I’ll be back soon PS don’t forget to order yourself a sorbet!!!
Such a cute and cozy corner spot! Chill indoor vibes with a beautiful mural and upbeat music. Came with a mix of vegan and non-vegan family — even the picky eaters were seriously impressed. Everyone left with a new favorite dish! What stood out to me most was how clean and satisfying everything tasted. I’ve had vegan food in the past that leaves a strange aftertaste — this was not that. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. I also really appreciated the commitment to using locally sourced ingredients. It’s clear that care and quality are at the heart of everything here. Truly delicious from start to finish!
The food was amazing. I cannot believe how good it was, the service was spot on. I would go back again and again. The owner is wonderful and actually has changed my mind about not liking Brussels sprouts they were to die for. If you don’t try it your missing out on amazing food! Emily was a wonderful server
What do I love about Philly? Here is one. Escaping the Italian festival frenzy we decided to walk east and found ourselves at Fitz On Fourth. I highly recommend even if you are a SemiVegan like me. Get your self a table by the window and enjoy the diversity of humanity as you take the in their specialties I recommend the Arancini and who knows you may just meet a champion grease pole climber
This place flies under the radar from the other fully vegan spots in Philly and I’m not sure why. This place is incredible. My favorite thing about any restaurant is the creativity and Fitz on 4th knocked it out of the park with the corn ribs! They were cooked, seasoned to perfection, and they were extremely fun to eat. I’d order this again and again. It’s something I haven’t seen anywhere else. Kudos to the chef team for cooking this up! Other menu items we ordered included: pretzels, which were sliced pretzel bread pieces served with a cashew cheese. It was lighter than your typical pretzel, which made it easier to eat and still have room for the main courses. We got the mushroom sliders, which were great. I loved that they used a lion’s mane mushroom rather than shiitake. The Nonna’s meatballs were also on the lighter side. The meatballs break apart easily to be eaten with the bread and sauce, which is preferred by me. Last, we got the Gnocchi, which was good, but not memorable. For dessert, we opted for the crème brûlée and the brownie with ice cream. I was not a fan of the brownie. The problem was it was too dense and from how you are led into the dessert with all the menu items being lighter and easy to eat, this one is just too heavy. The crème brûlée on the other hand was perfect. Perfect flambé on top and texture on point. I’ll be back and I’m excited to check out the rest of the menu for the items I almost ordered.
Great vegan restaurant! All the dishes we had were super flavorful and absolutely delicious! They have great flavors on all the dishes, and we enjoyed every one. The pretzels were the perfect texture, and the sauce went really well with them - it was more of a spread than a sauce - but I liked it very much. The cauliflower tacos were packed with flavor, with lots of avocado and limes to squeeze over the dish. The crab cakes with remoulade and corn relish were outstanding - bold flavors that resembles a crab cake - but better than any real crab cake dishes that I have had in the past. The avocado toast had tons of avocado - and the herb salad with pickled onions, fresh hears - cilantro and dill, and lemon vinaigrette was super fresh and unbelievably tasty - that was one of the best salads I have had at a restaurant. I thought the portion sizes were pretty large for tapas - and we ended up taking home quite a bit - which was great for leftovers the next day. I am a big gin and tonic fan - but their Mason's Garden drink was even better and super refreshing - it had a nice thin spiral of cucumber on the side of the glass for presentation and flavor, and topped with a basil leaf- i could have drank a ton of those. In addition, we had great service, and our server Dylan was great. We had a really nice time and will definitely be back to try more dishes!
Fitz on 4th is a standout in Philadelphia for anyone interested in thoughtful, elevated vegan cuisine. The dishes are full of flavor and feel like complete meals—not just substitutions or sides. The cocktails are just as impressive, offering creative twists on classic recipes. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or just curious about plant-based dining, this place is a true gem worth visiting.
5 stars across the board. I’ve been here twice already and the gluten free options are incredible. Everything is fresh and beautifully plated. Cocktails are exquisite. Staff are wonderful and service is excellent!
My dear friend🦋 decided on our next vegan dining adventure, debating between Vedge and Fitz on fourth. She ultimately chose Fitz on 4 th, with plans to explore Vedge at a later date. And once again, she delivered an exceptional choice! Reservations are highly recommended, and the dress code is casual. We were able to find free street parking on Bainbridge, just about three blocks away from our destination. A leisurely walk is always welcomed by us. As we arrived, we were warmly greeted by a host who promptly led us to our table. The seating arrangements were eclectic - she settled onto a distinctive cushioned bench by the window, while I perched on a metal chair with a cushion that was a tad low for my stature. Nonetheless, it was quite comfortable. Our server soon approached us with menus and inquired about our drink preferences. I opted for her recommendation, a house favorite called "Tropical Paradise" - a zero-proof concoction of rum, pineapple juice, coconut, and lemon vanilla. To accompany our drinks, we also requested two glasses of water. My friend chose "Vanilla Vibe," another zero-proof blend consisting of whiskey, pineapple, lemon, and vanilla. Shortly after placing our order, our drinks arrived. The cocktails were presented in a classic style, while the water was served in charming hobnail drinking glasses. A lovely nostalgic touch! The restaurant itself was elegantly laid out - well-spaced tables, calming lighting that evoked a green ambiance, making it easy to peruse the menu. I appreciated the straightforwardness of the menus, and after some deliberation, I entrusted my friend to select a variety of appetizers and entrees. Our appetizers comprised crispy broccoli over tahini with pomegranate, cilantro, mint, peanuts, and olive oil. This dish was delightful - perfectly crispy broccoli paired harmoniously with the other elements. We also indulged in edamame wontons, flash-fried and pyramid-shaped, filled with mashed edamame in a delightful black vinegar and chili reduction sauce. Moving on to the main course, we enjoyed mushroom sliders, replete with flash-fried mushrooms topped with radicchio ribbons, basil aioli, Harissa oil, all sandwiched between sweet potato brioche rolls. As devoted mushroom aficionados, we savored every bite. Another standout was the vegan crab cake, seasoned with Mediterranean za'atar spice and lemon remoulade, served atop corn relish. It was a plate-licking delicacy. To conclude our savory journey, we shared roasted garlic parsnip ravioli, featuring homemade ravioli filled with mashed parsnip, complemented by a red pepper sauce. The ravioli had a beautifully cheesy texture, and the accompanying sauce was perfectly balanced. Revisiting the drink menu, we opted for a maple zero rum old-fashioned to enjoy with dessert - a chocolate peanut butter brownie paired with soy-based vanilla ice cream. The brownie was warm and perfectly balanced, while the ice cream added a delightful contrast. We also sampled the brioche bread pudding, which was equally delicious and served with soy-based vanilla ice cream. After reflecting on our dining experience, we unanimously agreed on a five-star rating across the board. Our only suggestion for this wonderful eatery would be providing fresh plates for each course during tapas service to maintain the distinct flavors of each dish.
I came here last week for my b-day dinner and I was absolutely blown away. The food is so well flavored, everything is fresh and I would recommend all the dishes we shared. The drinks are also cute and mid-strong which I appreciate. The atmosphere is fun, chill, cozy with nice music playing and they were playing Legally Blonde on the TV screen too, so there was entertainment all around me. My favorite foods were the artichoke dip (next time I will add the bread), so good we ordered it twice. Then the pretzels with the cheese dip...OMG have you ever eaten a piece of bread that made you think "ooh heaven is a place on Earth"? well try these pretzel sticks & you will. Also the sticky meatballs were so nicely spiced and I loved the contrast of the crunchy slaw salad they sat on. To top all that off, the staff graciously sang me HBD and brought me a candle for the 2nd serving of artichoke dip I ordered in lieu of dessert.
We stumbled upon Fitz on 4th during a walk, and I’m so glad we gave it a try. Best vegan dinner I’ve ever had. All the tapas were prepared so well and flavorfully that if you didn’t know it was a vegan restaurant you wouldn’t know any different. The edamame wontons and mushroom sliders were so good! Even the fries with the different dipping sauces were great. We also really enjoyed the crispy broccoli, flatbread, and fruit crisp. A truly terrific meal. Whether you are plant-based or not, this place is super.
Wanted to try this place for quite a while and finally made reservations for dinner. The host was very cordial to seat us. The interior was very clean and modern. The cocktail menu is refreshingly delightful. Their ice cube has custom F4 logo which is such a nice added touch. I tried their mushroom sliders and cauliflower tacos. Both were decent sized portions and not to mention quite tasty. The texture of mushrooms reminded me southern crispy fried chicken. Definitely a place that I will patronize frequently.
We ordered the meatballs, the wontons, the sliders, and the gnocchi and all of them were excellent, possibly some of the best vegan pasta and meatballs we’ve had. Service, decor, and ambience are also on point. Five stars would recommend and will definitely be back.
Love this cozy vegan restaurant. My friend and I always order as our entrees basil gnocchi, and Mac & cheese gnocchi. We’ve also loved the appetizers we’ve tried, spinach artichoke dip, broccoli, and brussel sprouts. It’s soo delicious.
Steve at the bar gave us the best first impression at a restaurant we've experienced. Amazing service and such a talented bartender. We live nearby and can't wait to come back! Loved each of the dishes we got (crispy tofu, gnocchi, eggplant to name a few).
Fitz on 4th is an all vegan, hip & modern tapas spot you don’t want to miss! Heard so many great things & finally went! Wow! Beautiful decor, hip vibe & amazing vegan food! It seriously gave me vibes of a place you’d find in LA or NYC! Every detail was perfectly put together from the bar- to the tables- to the bathrooms. Also the bathrooms were super clean! Added bonus! We made reservations (highly recommended) & was seated right away. I loved the decor right away. Beautiful wallpaper, stunning plants everywhere, funky & fun colors. Such a vibe! Our server was amazing. Explained how to experience the tapas & made recommendations. What we loved most was how perfectly timed everything was! As we would be finishing up a dish, the next came out! It flowed perfectly & was such a wonderful dining date. The server recommended 4 dishes for 2. We were completely stuffed after our 4 dishes & for tapas- the serving sizes were decent! What we got: Pretzels & pub-cheese- Was my fave of everything. Super crispy, buttery pretzels dipped in amazing pub cheese! The portions of this was perfect for 2 to share. Mushroom sliders- seriously amazing!!! The buns were delicious, the mushrooms were battered & crispy & the veggies/chili sauce completed the flavor! They were mini flavor explosions. Mac n cheese- Hands down some of the best vegan Mac we’ve had! This came out in a large bowl & again, perfect amount for 2! The pasta was perfect & the cheese sauce was ooey gooey & so much flavor! Meatball dish- the sauce stood out as the winner from this dish. Super fresh pasta sauce. You can taste the ripe tomatoes. We LOVED our dinner at Fitz! It lived up to the online hype from the vegan community & I hope sticks around in Philly for a while- it’s a gem! Such a vibe & such good food! Come for an amazing experience full of amazing vegan food.
Was able to get bar seating during brunch on Sunday and I’m glad I did. Like most vegan places, this place puts a lot of thought and creativity into their vegan dishes. I tried the chicken and waffles, Mac and cheese, and my favorite the mushroom sandwich. Great combination of texture and flavor. Everything else on the menu looked good too. Vegan or not. This is worth the try.
As a person who cannot eat gluten or dairy, it was absolutely so refreshing to find a place that is so inclusive to these specific dietary needs. I'm used to only having a few choices on a menu, but I could indulge in everything from drinks to dessert without worry. The food was absolutely phenomenal, so flavorful & delicious. We didn't want it to end! The mushroom risotto & the gnocchi were outstanding! Definitely a great eatery if you have gluten & dairy issues like I do, or if you are vegan.😊👍
Nice meal at Fitz with my family for a birthday dinner. Both pasta dishes were really good, lentil meatballs and sauce were a hit as well. One comment on the dumplings and cauliflower is that they seemed to used the same (tasty!) sauce with slightly different consistencies, making the dishes seem a redundant. Nachos were well liked by the table but the layers and toppings weren’t as integrated as I would have liked. Tried some mocktails, which were all fine but I think they are constructed with the spirit in mind.
My mom doesn’t eat meat and this place was perfect for her. She loved her meal and so did I. We came Halloween weekend and sat inside. They had candy for the kiddos and good food for us. At one point the music started blasting and everyone was confused, it was quickly corrected. My plan is to come back with the Hubz to try their cocktails and non-vegetarian food (which I heard is amazing, too.) Definitely a place to check out if you’re in the area.
Good food, fabulous service, in a comfortable atmosphere. The vegan food here is very approachable and doesn’t feel “vegan” just really well seasoned, flavorful food. Our absolute favorite is the curried carrots… OMG they are amazing! We also liked the Mac and cheese, but did feel the edamame dumplings were dull in comparison to the other items we had. Overall a fabulous meal. Note: they charge a 3% credit card fee and a mandatory 3% kitchen fee
This is really an impressive restaurant, and a great spot even for serious meat/seafood/dairy eaters like myself. The food was all great, and several dishes were really extraordinary. The oyster mushroom and bok choi special was perfect (bok choi perfectly grilled, really nice sauce). Corn ribs, pesto gnocchi, eggplant, and onion and spinach flatbread were also standouts. The drinks were tasty and came out immediately, and the food was quick (we arrived around 8:15). The service was professional and very friendly. Maurice was enthusiastic and had great suggestions.
Great service and delicious vegan food! We tried several small plates and a few desserts. Among these, our favorites were nona’s meatballs, the edamame dumplings, the spinach salad, the butternut squash mac and cheese, and the sausage rigatoni. The cocktails were great too! The portion sizes on the small plates were great for sharing. Our waitress went out of her way to make sure my partner had a great birthday dinner!
Incredible!! So nice to have a really great vegan spot in Queen Village! Everything they use is local and so sooo good. All your favorites made vegan. They're starting up a new brunch menu too!! Really good cocktails as well, the Nightbird espresso martini was amazing. The owners/chef/bartender Alex and Alison are so passionate and talented, and dedicate themselves to making you the best food and drinks possible. Definitely worth checking out!
Server was friendly and attentive. Food was good, but not outstanding. Reservation is recommended
This is nice vegan place. They have creative vegan dishes and they are small plates so you can try variety
I’m so happy I found this place! It is always great to find a fully vegan place but this one is extra delightful. Not only was the place so cute and staff so friendly- the food was delicious (even according to my non vegan date). I have a nut allergy so sometimes this is difficult to navigate at restaurants but they were incredibly helpful and there was plenty on the menu for me to try.
Went on a rainy Saturday afternoon. My experience was divine. Nice peaceful atmosphere. What I ordered: *Pink Lemonade Martini (2) - this gave me pause at first taste *Unlisted Special Asparagus Dish - cooked perfectly, firm and succulent *Arancini - nicely fried (because I am a texture person) and the kimchi and sriracha aioli were a perfect compliment. Reminded me of boudin balls. My waitress was amazing and extremely helpful. She won't be there much longer. Be sure to stop and visit!
The attention to detail at Fitz on 4th is incredible. The interior design is homey, yet modern and chic featuring greenery, art, and cohesive yet colorful earth tones. The service is unmatched: Quick, consistent, and copacetic. There’s something for everyone on the menu (which is modified seasonally), even if you’re unfamiliar with vegan cuisine. Currently, my favorite plate is the curry with lentils and carrots! Not only are the dishes well prepared, but the plating presentation definitely adds to the experience! Another honorable mention goes out to extensive zero proof menu. The drinks are BOMB and I highly recommend their latest addition, consisting of chai and whiskey!
We had a great vegan meal at Fitz on 4th on Saturday night. Service was super quick and friendly. Portions were large. The owner Alison was very courteous and accommodating. We ordered the orange blossom cocktail, nachos, seasonal corn Campanelle, mushroom risotto, Brussels sprouts, artichoke flatbread. Everything was exceptional and worth trying; none of us are vegan or vegetarian but we didn’t miss the meat or dairy in any dishes. The flatbread is topped with great crispy onions and the seasonal pasta was creamy and delicious. Will definitely come back to try other things on their menu! Very underrated kosher spot as well. Thank you Alison and crew for accommodating us on Saturday night.
I’m very much not a vegan but loved this spot. The food tasted clean and healthy. No excess oil or grease. The nachos were really refreshing and I loved the sauces. The texture of the meatball really got the essence of meatballs. The focaccia with the butter bowl is an absolute must. You get a lot of butter and the bread is yummy. Wish there was more bread honestly considering how much of the butter/agave you get. The only thing I didn’t like were the tacos. I LOVE me a good taco and that’s the only dish where I felt like the vegan take missed the mark. I’d return for sure!
Our son's family in Philly is vegan and so we have eaten at a large number of vegan places. This is the first one that is serving excellent food. No over processed pretend chicken or fish. Everything is remarkable and authentic. As a party of 5 we ate a bit of most everything on the menu - from cocktails to desserts. EVERYTHING that came to our table was absolutely excitingly new and delicious, from corn ribs to creme brulee. Hats off to the chef. She has set a new standard!
It is a vegan restaurant. Many of the dishes aim to "mimic" meat or fish, so omnivores will find dishes that will appeal to their sense of taste and do so, quite well. Our most recent visit we really enjoyed the crab cakes, roasted eggplant over black rice and spinach and avocado dip. Cocktails are always top notch and service is very good and cheerful.
Not only a wonderful dinner, but came home with a piece painted by Clement Da Vinci of the Art Museum! Our server, Savanah, couldn't have been more professional, and the entire staff was awesome. Awesome cocktails. I'm primarily a white meat carnivore, but the Gnocchi was incredible, as were the desserts. Must have the spicy pickles and sprouts for starters. My wife had the flatbread for her main and truly loved it.
Fitz is an absolute must for anyone looking to experience the best Philly has to offer. An all vegan menu that is just indescribable in how good it is I was waited on by Olivia and Emily. Really the start of a wonderful dining experience starts with the staff and Fitz has the best there is. Kind, attentive and friendly Olivia is a gem. From the moment we stepped in she was absolutely divine I cannot wait to return again, I cannot express how perfect this place is!
Loved, loved, loved the food, service, and ambience at Fitz on 4th! We were visiting out of town and so glad we decided to visit. We completely scored on their fixed price menu and it was such a great deal! The dishes were amazing and really great flavors. Everything was so tasty and really loved the brussel sprouts and the crab cakes. Thanks so much to Olivia for taking such great care of us and providing excellent recommendations of what to try. We'll definitely visit again!
Recently had my wedding reception at Fitz on 4th and they did an incredible job. The food was amazing and our guests raved about everything from appetizers to the salad course and entrees. Everyone enjoyed the extensive cocktail and mocktail menu and they even served ice cream alongside our wedding cake. The owners and staff were great to work with during the planning process and incredibly attentive during the event. Our day was perfect thanks to Fitz on 4th and I cannot recommend them enough whether it’s for an event, a special dinner, or just casual drinks and food.
This restaurant provides a great environment and steff for a delightful meal. It was so good, I couldn't stop to take photos. First trip: hubby and I split the Mushroom on flat bread and the gnocchi butternut squash, both were DELISH! We went back again with our son, and had large plates: mac and cheese, crab cakes, with small plates Delicata squash, toasted carrots, brussel sprouts, cauliflower and fingerling bravas. Will def want to go back on our next trip to Philly!
i love this spot! not only are the vibes and decor so cool, the food is amazing, too! the crispy broccoli dish is probably my favorite dish i’ve had in such a long time. i’m not vegan myself and have brought many non-vegans here, and every time we leave satisfied and happy 😊 oh yeah, and the cocktails?! don’t even get me started! the night bird (espresso drink) is my favorite! definitely check it out!
A lovely interior and great location. The servers were pleasant and gave just enough attention. I can't recommend the cocktails enough, particularly the super fruit - I would go back specifically to try a few more. Something to note about the food; the servings are skimpy, and a lot of the menu items are deep-fried, so if you have sensitivity to that, choose carefully. A place worth trying, for sure.
Let me tell you what a fantastic place this is! This is the best vegan food I have ever had! The carrots were so flavorful that ever have ruined any other carrot dish I'll ever eat again unless it's Fitz's! I'm not a fan of vegan food that mimics meat - or so I thought until I had the sticky meatball. It's the perfect amount of flavor and a great consistency. Every dish we tried had us wondering if it was really vegan. Wow, they really have mastered vegan food! If I had to reduce my review to one word, it would be - foodgasmic!!!! The restaurant is cozy with a cute bird-painted wall. The bar is a nice place to sip on a blackberry apricot sangria. This fruity, delicious drink will have you driving it fast because it's so good so be careful! The staff is super friendly and fantastic guides through your entire dining experience - straight through to the creme brulee! I didn't take pictures because I was too busy staying in the moment. That's a pretentious way if saying that I was too busy stuffing that food in my face. I'll try to show some restraint next time and take pics for my next review. TYVVVVVM for such a superb evening. You nailed it!!!
Couch-side dining stole my heart! Out front is a classic cafe sidewalk patio faith tables. The front window seating was a pleasant surprise. A long 4 seater fabric colorful couch full of soft pillows abuts a white oval table with royal green soft microfiber chairs. From the couch, you have a perfect view of the large pay window lined with air cleaning plants. Watch the people go by while you
delicious but a bit pricey. Loved the tapas we ordered though! huge vegan food fan but spending $50 on corn, watermelon, arugula and one drinky drink is kinda crazy
Solid spot for a comfortable and creative meal. The vibe was Parisian patio garden on the outside and spacious with comfortable seating inside. I mean the seats were actually comfortable, lol. The staff were cool and attentive. We didn't wait more than a minute after sitting down before we got water and a greeting. Our server seemed genuinely interested in us having a good meal and suggested their favorites. (I'm not vegan although I do enjoy vegan grub. We were told about the cocktails & mocktails being good and they definitely were. I had the lavender lemonade (mocktail) and it was indeed slammin. While the presentation of the food was very well done, some of the flavors didn't suit my palate. The corn ribs were solid, the spinach dip was average, the crab cakes were good, the gnocchi itself was good, but the pesto was way to herb & bitter heavy for me. The mushroom sliders were good. They were fried so mostly anything fried will ride with me, lol. The restrooms were very well put together, clean, and cozy. One of the five stars on the atmosphere was solely for the bathroom. All in all, it's a nice spot to grab drinks, the portions are all small but sharable between two people, be sure to ask them to bring your food out slowly. We were bombarded with too many plates on a small table. Atmosphere is digable and we'll designed. The prices were what you'd expect at a restaurant of this type, reasonable, but not a daily dollar. I'd go back for that lavender lemonade, the corn ribs, and jus to chill with friends, cause it's a chill spot.
Great atmosphere, it's beautiful, bright and welcoming. A shared plates style restaurant serving vegan options. For two people we got four plates and left feeling satisfied. We started with the Alberta and tropical paradise mocktails both were light and refreshing. The beets, the purple beet was extremely salty. Empanadas had a great crust and you could taste all the ingredients for me could've used a touch more seasoning. Mushroom sliders came with a delicious sauce. Purple sweet potato ravioli with lemon was an interesting contrast but cooked well.
Bring someone here to impress them. It’s more upscale without being at the fine dining level of Vedge (another restaurant). But if you’re looking at it just from a food standpoint, it’s forgettable, minus a few items. The best items are definitely the burger, deserts, and the mushroom sliders. Ive been vegan my entire life and I’ve eaten all around the country. Thats the best veg burger I’ve ever had. They’re doing some really creative things that they can build on. They aren’t using any fake vegan meats or cheeses, which is the minimum most veg-American restaurants can’t accomplish. But overall their dishes lack depth and seasoning. The broccoli wasn’t great (put the sauce on top and don’t cook it to death) and the mac n cheese needed salt and some nutmeg or it should have been made with a squash base. The pasta also wasn’t homemade, which is disappointing in this neighborhood. They’re using dehydrated potato instead of cashews for cheese. Good for allergies and cost. But they need to find a way to make up for the bland taste. Fitz is still trying to replicate meat and cheese and thats whats holding them back from greatness.
I’ve had tons of great meals here, but after the Valentine’s dinner I’ll likely never return. $85 a person for a horribly bitter salad, soup tasted like leak thrown in blender with some water then served in a shot glass, and raviolis that were sub par. Staff was great, but it feels like I was ripped off. I don’t mind paying $220 for a valentines meal, but honestly we would have been better off just eating at home. Kinda sucks considering how much I liked this place.
my partner and i went for their $85 valentine’s prix fixe menu and left with confusion and angst. waiters were nice and welcoming - thank you! but food was so disturbing that we fell out of the mood to celebrate and cancelled our proceeding plans 🫡 the porcini risotto with fried leek depressed me with the most watery and flavorless mushrooms i’ve ever had. the roasted eggplant was such a harassment with its burnt skin, bland flesh, and overpowering sauce. and what do you mean the pear sorbet was $17 per mouthful? i feel bad for the ingredients. they should be tended to and transmuted into delicacies with care and respect, instead of being mistreated as marketing scams to solicit money from people. i’ll enjoy my mushrooms elsewhere. adiós!
