The Baja Fish Taco plate was delicious. Warm greetings from the staff. Great place for lunch.

Cocina Mexico in Pleasanton has become one of those places that really feels like a favorite—not just for the food, but for the whole experience. I’ve been going for a while now, and every time I’m reminded why I love it so much. The staff is always so kind and welcoming, and there’s a warmth to the place that’s hard to come by. I usually go on Saturdays after the farmers’ market. The outdoor patio is my go-to spot, especially when the weather’s good—it’s a great place to hang out, eat, and just slow down for a bit. The weekend special breakfast burrito is a staple for me, and I seriously cannot get enough of their avocado salsa. I’m fully obsessed—it’s creamy, bright, and has just the right kick. I’d buy it by the jar if they sold it. One of the things that really stands out is how sweet and patient they are with my mom when she joins. She’s older and sometimes has a hard time with menus or needs food adjusted, and they’ve always taken the time to help her and make sure she’s comfortable. That kind of care makes a huge difference. It’s just a genuinely good place—with good food, good people, and a lot of heart.

We recently had a grad party for my daughter. We did onsite catering of taco bar! The owner, Anthony did an awesome job explaining our options and customize to our needs. They were on time on the day of the event. Went above and beyond and stayed longer than originally agreed upon at no additional cost. The food was super delicious and all the guests really loved the food. Very fresh and refreshing! Thank you Anthony and team! We will definitely reach out again the future.

The Baja Fish Taco is amazing. Super fresh and light. They basically give you an entire fish fillet that is grilled perfectly to order. I really love their Pico De Gallo, and their jalapeno salsa is a must!

Nice little Mexican restaurant. Had dinner with a medium sized group. The ingredients were good, the portions were generous, the price was reasonable, and the chips and salsa bar has a good range of spiciness available. The counter service was friendly, and they brought out our food promptly. There is a kids menu available. Outside seating is available.

I've been here and got hooked. I come here almost every week. The burrito is very authentic and full of flavor. The authenticity and flavor of this place really compared to the restaurants out in Mission District of San Francisco, and they have really good authentic Mexican restaurants there. I have to definitely recommend this spot. They also have free chips here, although I would prefer that they had bigger salsa containers, bigger containers for the chips.

Good food. Comfortable, family and friend environment. Clean, open, with a view of the street, out front. Just off of Main St, in the middle of downtown. I had the chickem enchilada plate once and the salad, earlier that day. It was so good, I went back with a friend. Prices were under $10 for many entrees. Since you order at the register, tipping is optional but I was so pleased, I did. They also have free chips and a good variety of free salsa.

The food was amazing you could taste every ingredient in every bite. The service was amazing an fast, the lady who served us a was very nice. My kids loved it too they said the chips and the sauce was really good and they loved the enchiladas and burritos. It wasn’t very crowed but everyone we saw looked like they liked the food. I definitely recommend this place if you want fast service and the best Mexican food.

Good Baja Fish tacos (grilled, not fried) - large portion. Refried beans were OK, but rice was subpar. Unlimited chips and drink refills, but most of their plates don't include drinks. I'll be back for individual tacos.

It’s now 2023 and I still like it. Friendly people. Still affordable. Food is very good. We can have the dog with us and eat in the nice patio. Counter service. Healthy tip: People love their Kale salad. Perfect location 1/4 block from Main St.

A Disappointing Decline at an Old Favorite: Cocina Mexico used to be our family’s go-to takeout spot for many years. Their burritos and guacamole were once unmatched—delicious, reliable, and full of flavor. We’ve had countless great meals from there, and they were always our first choice for quick, satisfying takeout. Unfortunately, over our last several visits, we’ve noticed a clear and disappointing decline in food quality and service. The first sign was the guacamole. It had always been fresh and flavorful, but one evening it tasted completely off—mostly mayonnaise with barely any avocado. It was inedible, and we ended up throwing it away. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, assuming it was a one-time mistake. The burritos that night were still good, so we returned a few more times—this time avoiding the guacamole. But recently, we ordered burritos again and were surprised to find a side container of shredded lettuce. Once home, we realized neither burrito included lettuce inside, as we always request. No one informed us there was an issue with our order or offered to correct it. We had to take apart the burritos and stuff in the lettuce ourselves. To make matters worse, the burritos had a disproportionate amount of tomatoes and barely any chicken. This is not the level of care and attention to detail we’ve come to expect from Cocina Mexico. What’s most disappointing isn’t just the errors—it’s the lack of communication or effort to make it right. After so many years of loyal patronage, it’s disheartening to feel like quality and customer care are no longer priorities. We’re grateful for the many good meals we’ve had here in the past, but sadly, it’s time for our family to move on and find a new go-to. We wish Cocina Mexico the best and hope they find their way back to the high standards that once made them a neighborhood favorite.

This place is not good at all. There is No flavor at all. This is like restaurant version of Taco Bell. I got a super burrito grilled chicken, completely tasteless. To the non Hispanics this may be goodBut to us Hispanics who know good Mexican food definitely a disappointment. I don’t know how They have good reviews I’m guessing they do the old family trick be there is no way… the ages horchata wasn’t even good either! Tastes like one of those bags that you buy at Safeway and mix with water. Ugh never again will I waste $60 on two burritos a kids quesadilla and two drinks.
