Stopped here for lunch and had the meatloaf special. Food was good and service even better.had the potatoes been real not instant, that would have made the meal !!!
Pancakes were light and fluffy. Also ones of my favorite gumbo spots.
I eat at this place a couple of times and I literally live almost right next to it. It’s a really good place to eat. I love it. Sometimes I go in there just to hang out and to eat some good food, tomorrow I’m probably gonna get some takeout. And eat it at home.
The Feed Store gives small town vibes where you feel like everyone knows everyone they’re eating next to. The food is amazing, the service with a smile is welcoming, but overall I truly feel the heart of the restaurant is the older woman I believe is the owner. She makes everyone happier just by being there. The way she connects with people ages 2 to 82 is a treasured experience. Please keep doing what y’all are doing because it’s perfect.
Seated our selves. Drink order taken quickly. New waitress(her first day) showed right up and took our orders. Food arrived in a reasonable time and was delicious.
Great little place. People are amazing. Food is delicious
The food at The Feed Store is as cloose to your mom's home cooked meals as you can get without going home......service is great! You've got to get there early because the place is small and tables are almost shoulder to shoulder. If you don't mind eating with a group of people then there isn't a problem. The portions are large and prices kinda high but you get what you pay for..I call my order in and pick it up. Wait staff are friendly and greet you with a smile. So check them out. I almost forgot they have desserts too, the Buttermilk Pie...well lets just say you may want to rake a bite or two before eating your lunch unless you have a BIG appetite. 😋 -Joe Lea Vidor, Texas
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re craving down-home cooking that tastes like it came straight from Grandma’s kitchen, The Feed Store in Nederland-Groves is the spot! I had the hamburger steak smothered in grilled onions, mushrooms, and rich brown gravy—served up with creamy mashed potatoes and crispy fried okra. Comfort food at its finest. My coworker went with the bacon cheeseburger and couldn’t stop raving about it. The tea never stopped flowing (a must on a blazing Texas day), and our waitress was an absolute gem—friendly, attentive, and knew the menu like the back of her hand. They’ve always got daily specials, and don’t even get me started on the desserts—out of this world. Expect a short wait at lunch, but trust me—it’s worth every minute. If you’re anywhere near Mid County, this place is a must-visit. —Michael Hiatt, Host of The Whiskey Trip Podcast 🥃
Had lunch there today and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff and service was great. The food was delicious! I ate the lunch special with the fried pork chops👌, fried okra👌, green beans👌, cornbread and cheesecake for dessert. Definitely a gem in Port Neches!
The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, seriously. The flavors were awesome, every bite was a little explosion of deliciousness. I'm definitely craving that again soon. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you want to lick the plate clean if no one was looking. Totally recommend giving it a try if you get the chance.
08/21/2024 Breakfast. On the way in, I asked two people who were just leaving "What's good here?" and one person said the Paw Paw's Grits Bowl" (2 eggs cooked to order served in a bowl on top of southern style grits and bacon). Since I wasn't very hungry I thought it was worth the risk for $6.50 and ordered it. What a bargain! 5 star delicious! I have to say it was the best breakfast under $10 that I have eaten in a very long while. My wife got the Breakfast Bowl (A fresh baked biscuit, two eggs, choice of meat, hash browns and topped with cream gravy, for $9.95). She enjoyed it and we took the leftovers home as it was more than she could finish. A flavorful dish. Coffee was surprisingly good, service was about average, the staff were nice and the place was clean. I used a mostly empty bottle of hot sauce, and when I put it down, I noticed how clean the bottle was. 5 stars! We both said we would come back to try lunch. Our meal was very good! Excellent: Uniquely satisfying. 5 star V Good: Better than expected. 4 star Avg: An everyday, good meal. 3 star Fair: Below par. Dirty & or flies. 2 star
My daughter and grandchildren took me out to lunch for my birthday, so excited to finally visit the Feed Store in Port Neches! Everything you heard is true, what a great experience. I had the Cajun Chicken Salad, she had a cup of gumbo and the kids had grilled cheese, Mac and cheese and grilled chicken. We so enjoyed the desserts as well, the bread pudding and chocolate cheesecake! Pleasantly crowded and enjoyed the wait...
We wanted to eat breakfast but we got there too late so we had lunch! It's very small and intimate inside. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We had a hamburger on the jalapeno bun and the special of the day, fried porkchops with two sides (I got rice and gravy and green beans. I loved the porkchops (especially dipped in the gravy) sides were very good too! My friend said the hamburger was great as well! We will definitely be back!
I typically eat breakfast at The Feed Store. But today, on a Thursday ate lunch. I am always on the hunt for a great salad. I ordered the salad with the Cajun Grilled Shrimp with no raw onions and Thousand Island dressing on the side. Moments later out came our meals. Wow! I loved the mixed greens along with the shredded carrots and cucumbers. Gave the cherry tomatoes to my hubby. Goodness the sauce from the shrimp was on parts of the salad. I could have had that instead of the dressing. So good. I think I counted 7 or 8 shrimps. The taste was amazing. I also “sampled” green beans and fried okra from the hubs plate. Sorry, I did not share my meal (except the tomatoes). $10 is a great price for this lunch meal! Might do a carry out lunch order when I am craving shrimp and salad! Thanks The Feed Store!! Gail P-B.
Another awesome experience! First I was greeted with Natalie who was very nice and shared the popular items in very good detail. She provided her recommendations but also allowed me to review the menu for any particular likings. Natalie’s attention to detail and compasión really made me want to try the special of the day, the Chicken Fried chicken. It was amazing and probably the best chicken friend steak I had living in TX for for over 10 years. If I am working around the area again I look forward to return. Natalie is a true ambassador for the restaurant!
Food was good. A little closed in for my preference, but everything else was good
Sept 2024 Food was better. Cabbage was INCREDIBLE! Original visit This is tough but I think fair. I almost think my visit would be a 3.5 but 4 is fair as the staff is soo friendly. I started with the Chicken Gumbo, the roux was too thick for me but good flavor. Fried porkchop were good, cream corn was great, rice with gray needed more gravy and unfortunately extra gravy came with a charge but thankfully only $1. I think it would be a good breakfast spot. I would also return for lunch again too.
I was really looking forward to eating here because my coworkers recommended it. The food was ok, my dessert came with hairs. The service was horrible, never got a refill and nobody came to check on us. I’m not sure if it was because I was the only Hispanic in there or what the problem was.
