Had a group of 6, they accommodated us just fine. Food was great, service was A+, comfy/cozy atmosphere. We all enjoyed it very much.

Very lively. Kind of reminds me of one big family gathering if that makes sense haha. Great prices, and even better food. Servers are kind and wait times not too bad. The music genuinely adds to the atmosphere. I LOVE this place and it genuinely makes me want to work in a cafe instead of being in a restaurant.

This diner has changed ownership many times, for a variety of reasons. I think the current set up is the right fit! The father/chef/manager/owner is ever present, making sure diners are enjoying themselves. His daughter is in the front of the house, seating, serving, cashiering, but with a degree of professionalism that elevated our experience. Great memory - remembering a takeout cinnamon roll for Mom, without asking for it twice. Refills, follow up, takeout containers for the leftovers from nice big portions, and more homemade desserts in the display. Carrot cake? Chocolate cream pie? Blackberry tarts? They all looked and tasted great. The owner greeted us, monitored the floor, adjusted the a/c, and was also working at the counter. I worked in restaurant operations starting in 1975, so I can tell when someone competent is at the helm. The Silver Spoon Cafe is one of the few true diners left and is conveniently located on Route 9W, just about 15 miles south of Albany in Ravenna. Good luck, we'll be back!

Silver spoon is a neighborhood staple and has amazing food. Whenever family or friends visit from out of town we bring them here for good quality mom and pop place. We love the chicken cutlet here and roast beef sandwiches. Everything is amazing when we get it. Great friendly staff too

For a low key diner, this is a gem! Breakfast was so god we went back for lunch. The waitstaff was sooooo friendly and everyone we encountered was too. If we didn't leave that night we would've went back for dinner. Even the pickles and coleslaw were fantastic! And compared to long island the prices were so cheap!

Consistently great food everytime I order, whether it's for take out or dine in. Without a doubt the most menu options I've ever seen in a restaurant, with all dishes served all day long. You want breakfast for dinner, they have it. You want dinner for breakfast, they have it. They are very friendly and have reasonable prices. 10/10 would recommend!

The chicken wrap was very good. Had enough for a second meal. Waitress was very polite and friendly. Would recommend anyone that drives up thru Ravena to stop in and enough the food, coffee and a pleasant atmosphere.

This place is very near to where my son recently purchased his new home. I didn’t expect much, but boy, was I wrong. The food is excellent, and you get service with a smile. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Stop here when you’re in the area.

Wonderful wait staff. Our waitress was so friendly to our 21 month old, rambunctious, bossy, and talkative toddler. The food is also delicious and comes out fast. We've gone to Silver Spoon twice now. It's a great lunch stop on our drives back to the NYC area after a few days upstate.

This is a solid diner. Too many choices choices on the menu and excellent friendly service. It's not going to win any awards for food, but that's not the idea. It's dependable and I'm satisfied everytime I eat here regardless of what I order.

Loved the food, had a cowboy burger with added bacon( although honestly anything involving cowboys should have bacon already lol), loved every bite, generous portion of fries to go with it and their coleslaw is awesome, just wish I could of had a little bit more, but that honestly would be the only (small) complaint. Great job guys, I'll be back soon!

Heard about this place through a friend and being it’s very limited eating places in the Catskill area where the decent places are closed early every day by 2 or 3 pm we decided to try this place being its somewhat close & the hour of being open are great, we were very impressed from everything from the service we got to the food and amount of food we got right down to the price, it's definitely worth it, I would give them more than 2 stars if I could. Will definitely go back

Very nice open, well designed interior. Looks bigger inside. Booths, tables, counter for sit down enjoyment. Great friendly quick service. Food is good and plentiful. Had a western omelette with home fries, toast, bacon, coffee and milk. Call-in for pick up orders are popular. It's a ways for me but worth the trip.

It's a reasonable priced with better average service. With friendly wonderful and very fast service. My wife and I are there just about every weekend and once or twice a month when it's faster then Making dinner. Yes, very good dinners, quick, filling and fast dinner service also.

Living in Jersey, the land of Diners, for 18 year by far this is the best one. I've never seen pancakes or the serving sizes so huge and the prices def fair. If you are in the area you'd be foolish not to stop in. And bring your appitete. A++++++++++

I must’ve passed this placed 5,000 times but never went in. That was a bad move on my part. I tried this place today and it was PHENOMENAL. The atmosphere the choices on the menu, the quality of food, the service and the price - all amazing. You don’t find a lot of diners likes this anymore and it has instantly become my goto diner.

The food is excellent. Had the Eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfect - the yoke was runny but not the white. Plenty of hollandaise sauce. The English muffin was nicely toasted. Staff was friendly and appropriately attentive despite a busy Sunday morning. 👍

Got some takeout breakfast sandwiches while in the area and they were some of the best we've had (a lot like our favorite delis in NYC). Based on the name while looking for places to eat online, I was worried it'd be a fancy place with unreasonable prices, but nope, its a good ole' small town diner with great food at great prices with friendly staff. Would definitely go back if nearby again.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Capital Region. I work in the Ravena area 2-3 times a month and I always stop here for lunch. They make several homemade soups that no matter what my main dish is- salad, burger, or sandwich, I always start with a bowl of one of their soups. Their wait staff is always friendly and cooperative and while yes prices have increased, where have they not, unlike all other restaurants, they have never decreased the portions of their food or lowered the quality. I have never left there unhappy with my meal.

Very cute local diner. Have almost exclusively came for breakfast but came at lunchtime during this visit. Always prompt seating, even when busy. Everyone you encounter is warm and friendly. We’ve tried pancakes, country breakfast, hungry man platter, omelets, breakfast sandwiches and a chicken parm sub with fries. Never a bad item. Absolutely recommend!

I met him. Nice gentleman named Joe. Come to find out he owned property up in Hunter and we start talking about the old days of Hunter the festivals and you be surprised the people that we had met in common and this was the first time that I met this man. I would definitely go back there because he atmosphere was superb

Very impressed just drove 15 hours up from South Carolina and this place was recommended when we got here it was super slammed our waitress Madeline was so fantastic even though they were busy she was able to keep us stocked up super friendly now to the food amazing great flavor burgers where fresh soup is cooked from scratch in the am the only thing wrong was my burger was well inside of med but was not dry at all looking forward to breakfast you also can get anything on the menu cooked which is nice definitely recommend day 2 : stopped for breakfast nothing has changed great food really enjoyed the sausage at first I thought the price was little high until I got my plate of food so much definitely worth the price also note on the coffee it is just your normal coffee from a restaurant nothing special I drink my coffee black and enjoy the flavor of coffee it would have made my experience much better but again still amazing place to eat

I usually go else were but decided to have breakfast with a friend and my daughter. The prices were great my daughter had Micky pancakes . I had coffee . Everything was served hot . The coffee was excellent. I experience great customer serve . Vary friendly . She made sure we had everything we needed or wanted . The place was clean bathrooms smelt good . They offered anything on the menu regardless of the time . They also have specials on a daily basis . I did enjoy having our breakfast at the silver spoon.

This is an old school family restaurant that delivers friendly service and great food. If you like true omlettes with the fixings added in the egg, this is your place. Again, I tend to be a snobbish foodie, and if you take my pretentious behavior out of the equation, you are left with a great place to eat.

Very nice place to have a sit-down meal with a few people. The menu has some very good choices to pick from. The service was very professional and attentive. The dining room was very clean and comfortable lighting. Music was at a very good level to which is nice. It's not over powerful, so you can enjoy your meal. Food was served fast and hot the meal was good.

A very friendly environment! Employees are outstanding and the food has never disappointed. There are times where the tables aren't the cleanest and the seats are old. But its a part of its charm but I can understand why people may not like it.

We were greeted right away when walking in. Kids from another family held the door open for us. We sat anywhere we wanted. Our server came right away and told us the specials. It was like magic. It felt like as soon as our server turned around are food hit the table. Our server kept checking in on us and before we knew it, we were eating cake. Paid at the counter. Left a tip on the table. If I’m ever passing through again and are hungry I’d stop in!

Great local diner. Food is totally “diner” … order things like the cheese fries, omelet, blt, pancakes and you’ll be golden! The place could definitely use a spruce inside, the booths cushion padding is almost nonexistent which makes sense since it’s been around forever. Maybe time for a baby renovation. Otherwise, the staff work very hard and service is extremely fast! Haven’t had a bad experience here.

This diner is a great place for reasonable price meals, breakfast, lunch dinner. The service is good, the wait staff could be more attentive. If you enjoy a good gyro you will probably be disappointed- especially if you get the Gyro Platter! They call the salad a Greek Salad but mine came with large triangles of iceberg lettuce. I pointed it to the waitress asking only for a few more fries as a concession. Instead of being nice and accommodating (as I had expected) she defended the salad (which should have had romaine lettuce) and said I’d have to pay extra. The stupid Gyro Platter was already $17.00 and change. I’d say stay away from Greek Specialties here. I intend to go back and be more careful with my future orders.

Upon arrival there was no acknowledgement. I stood around for a few minutes then eventually flagged someone down to ask if I could be seated. But everything after that was pretty good. Great food, very good prices, big portions. Server, Pam, made sure I had everything I needed. Would definitely eat here again.

The food here is good. The service is good and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The deserts are excellent. My wife and I go here often and we're usually happy with our meals. As diners go, the place is the best in the Ravena area. I recommend it.

I really like Silver Spoon. I have been coming there for 20 years. This morning I stopped out for breakfast. Great meal my waitress is someone I've known for many years although her name escapes me. Great service. I left her a 50% tip in cash on the table, but was very upset when I saw the young lady who bussed my table as I was paying the check grab my cash tip and throw it in a jar, unbeknownst to the great waitress who served me. Now she doesn't know how much I appreciated her service. I'm actually pretty upset about this because I know the young bus lady is not going to tell her about the generous tip. If I ever go back to Silver Spoon in the future, I will be handing my servers their tip personally.

Overall it's a pretty nice place for breakfast or lunch. I've personally been going there for years and while yes their sanitation isn't completely up to par the food quality and the wait staff definitely make up for it

The food was good, average. My sister felt the sauce wasn’t cooked long enough; a little acidy. We requested two separate bills for the table. The waitress was forgetful and repeatedly interrupted us to go over every menu item we chose to make sure it went to the right bill. It shouldn’t have been that difficult.

nope was not at all like it used to be. Waitress directed us to a booth. The seat had a large rip and when I sat down the spring was bare. We went to a table. Told the waitress why. Guess she was ok with that. Never again. Went from 4-0 I should have taken a picture so I could share it

There is nothing special abt this place. Very basic food. Tea was cold and service was slow because staff was busy chatting. Place was practically empty.

Had a very rude racist waitress today. We went with a friend who just so happens to be black. She came to our table and served all of the white customers with a base level of rudeness, but hardly served our friend at all. She hit him in the head with a plate and didnt even apologize. She glared at him every time she came to the table. She brought out his food considerably later than all of ours. She refused to hand things directly to him and instead handed them to us to hand to him. Used to love going to this place and my whole family and many of our friends are regulars. After this disturbing experience they’ve lost a lot of regulars including my whole family. I hope this woman realizes that everyone is equal and there is no room for that hatred in this our world. Absolutely disgusted and upset by the whole thing.

Usually never have a problem here. Eat here once a week or at least try to. Yeah tonight I was made fun of about my weight. Questioned why I can fit in a booth. Same waitress started swearing at me and made threats. Talked to the owner and was pretty much laughed out of the place. Like I said I loved this place. They do not value regular customers. Imagine they way you could be treated if your not known. Won’t chance it again.

I showed up just before 9 PM — well within their posted business hours — only to be told “the kitchen is closed.” So… do you close at 9, or whenever the staff feels like it? If your kitchen shuts down early, put that on your sign or your website. Don’t advertise that you’re open until 9 if you're not actually serving food until then. I came ready to eat, but clearly the restaurant wasn’t ready to serve. Disappointing, and honestly? A waste of my time.
