Avis sur Cholita Coffee Ridgewood
amazing coffee, raíces latte was so good, service was great and it’s such a nice atmosphere with artwork etc
This place is sexy with that sterile hipster vibe. Walls are bare rn bc they are in process of scouting artwork. Thats why I took off a point for atmosphere. Got a hot cocado and it was so delicious and soothing on this brickass day. Come if you wanna support South American coffee as a ridgewood hipster should. Limited seating but I got a table
The iced Raices here is sublime. The baristas here take their craft seriously and you can really see them enjoying making every drink. Watching them make the drinks, do latte art, decorating the iced drinks, was inspiring. They are masters of their craft. Not to mention how amazing and sweet everyone is plus the wide open yet minimalist space that takes up this cafe. This is the perfect place to chill, read, or study, while sipping on some of the best drinks in the city. I live far but I will be back
great drinks and very friendly staff. the rotating art shows and the print section is also absolutely amazing. my only crit: I wish they had a larger selection of baked goods. I’m a big fan of the donuts but they often sell out.
Hands down the best coffee in Ridgewood and dare I say New York. There’s a reason for the line on weekends and it’s well worth the wait. Customer service is top tier, it’s clean, minimalist, but host a series of perfectly curated art shows as well. I’ve never been the type of person to drink my coffee til the last sip, until Cholita. Every drop is gold! Love it!
Inside and outside seating. Rotating art exhibits. Arguably the best coffee in a 10 mile radius. It doesn't get better than this. It's so good, I wouldn't be surprised if it drove the cost of rent up lol 😅
I’m lucky to live around the corner from this serene little coffee shop that consistently knocks it out of the park. Espresso drinks are good temp, foam is velvety, balance between milk and coffee flavours is complex and delicious and satisfying. I don’t drink straight espresso as much as I used to but they’re on my shortlist for where to do so. The staff are sweet. Only faults I would note is that seating is very competitive, and there is space on one side that is flanked just by chairs to add some tables and increase capacity, especially for cold seasons when outdoor seating isn’t a lovely option. I do appreciate the outdoor seating. There could also be a more consistent variety of food, some savoury pastries would be great, but the doughnuts they sometimes have are delicious. Overall, super glad they exist 🙌🏻
Very cool art and cafe. The coffees they have are unique, cultural, and very tasty. Was pleasantly surprised by the star fruit inside and the mocha coffee. Would recommend for a refreshing new coffee spot to visit. I do agree that the staff could be a bit friendlier and that the space could be a bit bigger ,offering more seating BUT I think that it's part of the charm of this place. It's a good place to grab some quick coffee, see some art, not much small talk- in and out. If that 's your thing then this place is great.
Cholita is truly a hidden gem that deserves all the recognition it can get. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a mesmerizing interior that beautifully blends minimalism with Ecuadorian symbols. The design is both inviting and unique, creating a warm atmosphere perfect for relaxing or working. The coffee is outstanding—rich and flavorful, it’s clear that quality is a priority here. I tried the raíces and the cocada, both of which were absolutely delightful. As someone who works in hospitality, I think the only area Cholita could improve on is customer service. A warmer, more welcoming approach would help build stronger connections with customers, making them feel more at home. Simple gestures like a friendly greeting and engaging with guests would truly elevate the overall experience. Additionally, I’d love to see the space utilized for more comfy seating, giving customers a cozy spot to linger and enjoy their coffee. Offering a selection of pastries would also be a great addition, enhancing the menu and making it a perfect stop for a longer visit. I can't wait to return to Cholita. It’s a place that not only serves amazing coffee but also offers a captivating experience. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great spot to enjoy a cup of joe!
This hidden gem has rich espresso, creamy drip, and refreshing tea. Have almost tried the entire menu and have not been let down once! The Cocada has a flavorful coquito taste that will have you jolting in minutes from the espresso added in…the Mocha is chocolate heaven and have tried them both iced. So refreshing and left me slurping ice for more. Cholita is legit, no gimmicks coffee.
The hot chocolate was amazing. And the staff were friendly and helpful. I recommend it 👍🏽
Cholita has some of the best specialty lattes I've ever had, but the service consistently falls short. On my last visit, I was the only customer ordering, yet it took a long time to get my drink because the staff seemed more engaged in their own conversation than in helping customers. The owner was also just standing nearby, which made the whole interaction feel awkward. The service has never been particularly courteous or attentive, but the drinks are good enough that I still come back. It’s a strange dynamic.
I don't get the rave on the atmosphere, it feels like a hospital room, all white and bland. Coffee was good. If you plan on taking it to go stop on by; if you're doing work and need to stay I would explore other cafe options
Last three times, the filtro coffee has tasted a bit watered down? Needs to be better coffee when paying $4.36 plus tip
50/50 experience. My wife really liked her mocha, my regular drip black coffee was one of the worst I've had in a long time. So for me, a 1/5 and for her a 4/5. The prices are ridiculous. The vibe is hipster nonsense.
