We loved Rio lagartos. Hotel villa pescadores os conveniently located in the center - the rooms with a view have a really great sight. Rooms were clean and big. The employees were helpful and kind - having recommended a tour with a local biologist (Paco) who showed us crocodiles and the birds of the region. I'd definitely go back .

convenient location and we were lucky to find this gem on Aribnb! It's towards the end of the tiny fishing village of Rio Lagartos, which itself is located on the Gulf Coast of the state of Yucatan in Mexico. The place was our base when heading to Las Coloradas Pink Lake. Right across the street, you have access to the Marina which served as our launch pad for the boat ride into the Reserva de la Biosfera Ría Lagartos to view crocodiles, flamingos and many other birds from up close. We arrived quite late in the evening, the front desk receptionist and the manager Elena welcomed us warmly and helped us book the boat tour for the next morning. We got a room on the top most floor that had a balcony looking out to the water, but the climb up the tiny winding stairs with luggage is a bit of struggle. The palm trees did obstruct the view but we were hardly in the room since we stayed just one night. The room was comfortable with all the basic amenities and the eco-friendly toiletries were a nice touch. Elena gave some great tips about visiting the Los Coloradas and the restaurants around. Overall, it was a great stay and we would visit again.

The 2 C's

Third floor room Nine is 5 stars for what it is, an inexpensive clean king room with air, hot water and wifi. A balcony with great views overlooking the water is a bonus. Friendly staff at check in. We didnt much care for the nonstop annoyance of guys trying to sell us boat trips everytime we stepped outside to walk the area. Not the hotels fault but it is a nuisance.

Right on the Malecon with views of the Estuary. Rooms have air conditioning and fans. The front porches are nice with waterfront views (across the road and parking lot though).

Great location. Very clean. Double beds that hubby found small. He would have appreciated a queen bed. Only thing missing was a pool to cool off. We were waterfront, but was told not to swim in that water. Breakfast was included but just be aware, it is fruits yoghurt and bread with jam. It was perfect for us. Restaurants next door. Boat tours in front. A place to buy beer & other drinks a block away to enjoy on our balcony. Loved it.

A veryyyy basic hotel in desperate need of an update. It's run down, but when you stay, you can tell the area is struggling. The room is big, clean and comfortable, you can't ask for much more than that. The bed is comfy, and the shower is great. The views are stunning. It's a perfect spot for touring the surrounding area. The only major downside is they say breakfast is included when they shouldn't. You get some fruit and half a stale bread roll. Not worthy of saying breakfast included!

This hotel is a bargain priced gem! Our room was very clean with firm but comfortable mattresses and pillows, a balcony with chairs and table looking out onto the water. The room also had good a/c and flat screen TV. There is a small parking lot just outside the lobby and 3 restaurants within a block

I had made two reservations here for two nights each. I made the first through Expedia and the second, later on, directly, for my dad to stay in. At breakfast after the first night, we waited at a table for a while for service but when no one came, my husband went to ask about a menu and was told “this isn’t a restaurant.” He was confused because every table was full of people eating food. So I went over and thought the man would explain what had been said so far, as I hadn’t heard the conversation, but he just stared at me. So I asked what was happening and he said that only our second room included breakfast. So I said fine, my husband and father can eat together (I’d booked both rooms for 2 people but it ended up being just my dad alone), I’ll skip breakfast. He gave some pushback on this but eventually said that would be ok. Never shared if I could pay for my breakfast, nothing. I found the entire exchange really bizarre and off-putting. Then when my Dad came to breakfast, the guy was like Jekyll and Hyde, sometimes exceptionally friendly and sometimes surly. This was our second time staying at this hotel and we’ll definitely return to Rio Lagartos but will try a different hotel next time. The mattresses are also in major need of replacement. Gorgeous town though. The ladies who work there are wonderful and I really felt bad for them, having to deal with the one guy that soured the whole place.

This is the worst place I’ve been not for what happened is because I felt the people is no good. The name of this place is exactly what they are Lagartos. there are teeth on the hotels they took $1000 from my wife purse and a diamond bracelet it cost $4000. They ruled our vacation. I will never go back to that place not even if the Lord let me birth again. I hate teeth. It’s not good. the hotel owner lives on The hotel and they didn’t do anything about it because they have keys. To open the safe box.and they ere the only one who has key from the safe.!!! Think about when you make a reservation for this place is totally not good recommendation lucky that they did not took all the money we had on cash they only took $1000 and a diamond bracelet from my wife. Everything You do in Life You pay Back.
