La Montecarlo è un locale veramente particolare. IL proprietario è un padrone di casa fantastico, simpaticissimo, vero romano! Ci siamo fermati per un pranzo veloce e siamo andati via molto soddisfatti. Ottimi i tonnarelli alla amatriciana. Grazie mille !

It was a great privilege to be able to witness the atmosphere of this amazing place. When you think of the definition of Italian restaurant in Italy, this could be the perfect example. Everything about it adds up to the whole experience. An incredibly authentic local spot with the best pizza we had in Rome. This place feels like a true neighborhood gem — casual street-style pizzeria with seating both inside and outside, buzzing with families, parents and kids enjoying their lunch together. The atmosphere is warm, lively and completely local. The pizza was outstanding, especially the white pizza — simple, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. We honestly didn’t expect it to be this good, and it completely surprised us. We enjoyed every minute and every bite. If you want real Roman pizza in a real Roman setting, this is the place.

Excellent italian pizza in rome cirry centre (which is difficult to find since all the pizzerias are for tourists). Made in traditional wooden oven the pizza is very good! Tip: try the artichoke!

We had a starter, a white wine, pasta, and pizza here. For Rome, the prices are great – not expensive at all, and the food was very tasty. The pasta with pesto was delicious. The atmosphere takes a bit of getting used to since you’re basically sitting at metal tables on the street, and the service can be a bit rough around the edges. Still, the food was great and the setting felt authentically Roman. We’d definitely come back.

A nice pizzeria in central Rome. A bit noisy, which seems common for Rome. We had pizzas and a couple of beers. The staff was friendly, but they were quite busy, and the place appeared to be a bit understaffed. The pizzas were good, and of a size sufficient for a dinner without either appetizers or dessert.

Our local resource highly suggested this place near our Airbnb. We were seated right away even though the rest of our party was still on the way. We had to order all the food at the same time, but the starters came first. Ryan says the fried mozzarella is the best he’s had in the world!! It’s exactly what we needed after a day of sightseeing!

Pizza romana buona e digeribile servita su fiamminghe. Sta a 2 passi da piazza Navona e il fine settimana è sempre pieno. Siamo stati fortunati che in 6 ci hanno subito trovato posto. Forse leggermente cari come prezzi (io ho preso una rossa con i funghi a 12€), ma nel complesso sei in centro a Roma e mangi una classica pizza Romana, quindi il prezzo potrebbe anche essere giustificato. A me è piaciuto molto anche il tiramisù. C’è anche la possibilità di un buffet di verdure per chi vuole rimanere leggero.

Estive qui la settimana scorsa e devo dire che è un posto vero, niente trappole per turisti: ai tavoli c’era un sacco di gente che parlava italiano e l’atmosfera era proprio speciale. La pizza è romana, non napoletana (cosa che ogni tanto ci si dimentica quando si giudica quello che si mangia) e noi abbiamo preso due bianche, senza pomodoro sotto, davvero buone. È vero che i camerieri vanno a mille e il servizio potrebbe essere un filo più curato, ma il locale è sempre pieno e fa parte del suo fascino.

The food is authentically good, love the burnt crispy pizza. However, is overrated, you can find better pizza in rome for sure. The tiramisu is a must try The service, raw, these ppl has no filter, i wish they could be nicer. We intentionally went before mealtime to avoid the crowd but the waiters did not really care that we are there.

Sarà l'età che avanza...ma io me lo ricordavo diverso...non molto ma sicuramente migliore. Questo locale è - o meglio era - un must, per romani (soprattutto) e non, tanto che non era infrequente trovare anche personaggi famosi (soprattutto dello spettacolo) che consumavano come normali avventori in assoluto anonimato e senza paranoie e vezzi. Il motivo? Presto detto...si mangiava bene e si stava tranquilli...tranquilli per modo di dire perché è sempre stato un luogo affollato e anche un po' caciarone ma bonariamente. Poi i turisti - che ci sono sempre stati - hanno preso il sopravvento e oggi quello che ho trovato (mi ci hanno portato degli amici turisti per l'appunto) è un locale identico ma diverso. L'interno resta carino anzi anche migliorato, fuori non gli daresti due centesimi....i prezzi devo ammettere che non sono molto alti e tutto sommato contenuti nella media, forse le pizze un po' più care ma niente di eccezionale. Quello che non ho trovato più è la qualità di una volta e soprattutto la rilassatezza...personale svelto e pronto ma forse un po' troppo orientato alla vendita (non si accontentano più di prendere le ordinazioni e mi sembra che siano troppo impegnati a proporre altri "assaggi" e aumentare il conto). Ho assistito purtroppo anche a qualche lamentela, io devo dire che non ho mangiato male (ma le tre fette di prosciutto adagiate sulla pizza mi sembrano una caduta, neanche il tempo di far ammorbidire i grassi e rendere il piatto presentabile). Ho visto uova quasi crude sopra delle capricciose e mi è rimasto da pensare (ma a quanto pare nessuno ha avuto da ridire) mentre la carbonara è rimasta quella di una volta. L'unica certezza che è stata confermata è che loro l'unica cosa che ammettono di non fare è il caffè (e questa gli si può ancora perdonare). Peccato, perché avrei preferito mantenere quel ricordo e magari dovrò tornare per confermare questa nuova impressione o ritrovare quanto avevo lasciato, comunque è una risorsa anche per chi vive la città a mozzichi come oramai i turisti fanno sempre più. Utili info? Allora lasciate un like e guardate le altre recensioni fatte su Roma e non solo.

Locale fortemente romanesco nel centro di Roma, a due passi da piazza navona. Pizzeria e cucina, servizio molto rapido, oste (il proprietario) molto colorito. Pizze arrivate in un catasto da 10 per servire ai tavoli,purtroppo le nostre (2)erano le ultime🥲, pessime e fredde Capisco che la gente "casca dentro",ma sarebbe un peccato abbassare la qualità... . Historic Roman restaurant, frequented not only by tourists but also by locals. Very simple setting, with paper tablecloths and fast service, designed to handle a high number of covers every evening. The Roman-style pizza is thin and very good, although for some tastes the dough may be a bit bland. The fried starters are good. Due to the high popularity, a short wait is often required.

Siamo andati a cenare da La Montecarlo una domenica sera, attratti dalla fama storica del locale. Ci siamo accomodati all’esterno, approfittando dell’atmosfera vivace del centro di Roma, e abbiamo ordinato due pizze. Il servizio è stato tutto sommato discreto, con personale rapido e presente, anche se si percepisce una certa insistenza nel proporre piatti aggiuntivi – comprensibile, fa parte del gioco. Purtroppo le pizze non ci hanno convinto. L’impasto era buono, ben lievitato e digeribile, ma abbiamo avuto dubbi sulla qualità degli ingredienti. In particolare, la capricciosa risultava eccessivamente bagnata e quasi immangiabile, con un risultato finale poco gradevole. I prezzi sono piuttosto alti, e nel complesso l’esperienza culinaria non è stata all’altezza delle aspettative. Apprezziamo la storicità del locale, il suo carattere romano autentico e l’energia che si respira, ma dal punto di vista gastronomico c’è sicuramente margine di miglioramento.

With the amount of reviews, I was expecting a good, classic italian pizza. In short, it was just "okay. "5/10. The crust was thin and a lot of it was burnt. It was salty and just didn't really have a good amount of flavor. There was also a lot of straight burnt chunks that I had to take off. My girlfriend got the bolognese pasta and it was really salty, too. Environment and staff were okay but food wise, I'd take my business elsewhere.

L'uomo che ci ha fatto pagare alla cassa è stato molto sgradevole. In sala da pranzo, il mio telefono ha perso il segnale e, quando ho dovuto pagare, ho dovuto riavviarlo per far funzionare il porta carte. L'uomo mi ha detto di pagare in contanti e si è innervosito come se non avessi intenzione di pagare. Mi ha risposto in modo scortese. Non torneremo più in questo posto, né i nostri amici né i tour guidati.

Le recensioni si basano su gusti personali. Personalmente non ho per niente gradito il comportamento del proprietario nel momento del pagamento. Probabilmente sono andato a cena in una serata sbagliata, ma leggendo altre recensioni a 1 stella, mi accordo che sono state sfortunate anche alcune serate di altri. "Maledetta sfortuna", come canta Vasco Rossi. Pizza buona, fritti discreti, servizio corretto, forse nella nostra saletta eravamo un po' troppo stretti, i camerieri non riuscivano a servire i tavoli accanto al nostro se non facendo alzare un nostro amico.

I visited La Montecarlo (Vicolo Savelli 13, Rome) and unfortunately the experience was extremely negative. First, we asked the cashier to split the bill between three people, and he refused without giving any explanation. This felt unprofessional and unnecessary. The restaurant also has a policy of “one dish per person,” which was delivered in a rude way. Instead of explaining kindly, it felt disrespectful and unwelcoming. The waiter with the tattoo on his arm was shockingly rude. When we took a bit of time to decide our order, he kept saying things to us in Italian in an irritated tone. If he wanted to communicate something important, he should have spoken in a language we could understand. Another waiter, who was not Italian, also behaved poorly. When we asked to return the water bottle, he threw more words at us in a language we didn’t understand and then ignored us completely when we asked what he said. Overall, the attitude of the staff made the whole visit uncomfortable. Definitely not recommended.

Worst Pizza Experience Ever – Completely Ruined Our Night I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was beyond disappointing. The pizza was, without exaggeration, the worst I’ve ever had. The bread was burned to the point of being bitter, drenched in oil, and had an unpleasant, stale taste. It was inedible and nothing like what a proper pizza should be. We had been looking forward to a nice evening out, but this meal completely ruined it. For the prices they charge, the quality and care put into the food were unacceptable. I would strongly advise avoiding this place if you value good food and a pleasant dining experience.

We had such a rude experience. We had an older man wait on us. I asked him multiple times for the size of the pizzas so that we could figure out how many to order, he snapped back one per person. I said to him that’s not answering our question. He went to the kitchen came back with a pan & dropped it on the table. The size of a plate is a normal question so people can figure out what to order. He didn’t return. We got a 2nd waiter who told us each person had to order a pizza. He rushed us to order. He dropped the pizzas on our table, no utensils or plates. I asked for these. Shortly after dropping our napkins & utensils off, he started clearing the 2nd half of our table. He pushed items out to merge our table with another. With that went the napkins he had just dropped off, they got scrunched up between tables. When he realized it he grabbed the same scrunched up napkins & brought them back to us. I asked him again for the plates after a while he dropped them off. I wish all of this was worth it because we enjoyed the pizza, but that wasn’t the case. I don’t get the high ratings, it tasted like a thin cracker with a little sauce and toppings that hadn’t had time to come together.
