I came here for a work event and had a lovely time. That staff was wonderful. We reserved a room in the back as well as some seating on the outside deck. The weather was beautiful and if felt like we were on vacation! The food was pub food, chicken fingers, mozzarella and zucchini sticks and penne.
The best seafood and the steak I have ever try! The restaurant view was mind blowing! The service was excellent! The Waitress named Rizzo was outstanding….it was our first time and she help me all the way to choose the right food for us! And the chef named Miguel, I think is the one of the best chef in seafood and the steak 🥩 cooking! Definitely we will visit again!
Definitely a hidden gem along the waterfront. Drinks were tasty and the food was good at a reasonable price (i.e. for 3 of us with at least 3 drinks each, at least 6 appetizers and 3 entrees- our bill came to about $225) that is a steal at any waterfront restaurant. The atmosphere is laid back as the serene landscape. Multiple servers to make sure you were never without something. Make sure to get there early...we went on a Friday afternoon around 4pm and by 6pm the outside deck was packed along with the parking and after your experience you will see why. Enjoy! P.s. the mussels in garlic white wine sauce with the garlic bread is soooooooo delicious we had to request more and I had to cheat on my diet for it.
Great Place! Great View ! Platter with shrimps scallops fish and baked potato cost around $20. Portion is good for one person if you're really hungry, if not then its good for two people to share. The Bayhouse is located right on the water, it has beautiful view and atmosphere. Recommended!
4th time here and the customer service is unmatched. I called to ask about indoor dinning since it was my dads birthday and they remembered 3 hours later and even gave him a drink on the house. And the food is amazing as well-with strong good alcoholic drinks, same quality every time! (Photo is of the seafood broil with rice)
I work at JFK airport and I go there monthly, On my way home. I usually walk in about 3 PM. Last night I worked until 6 PM. I just go for two appetizers and a beer, iced tea or cocktail, usually I order simple. Just a burger and coconut, shrimp appetizer, And then head home 27 miles away in North East Nassau County. It’s nice when the planes are going directly overhead. I look at my flight app ( flight radar 24) on my phone and I can see them approaching on my screen, before I see them with my eyes. The atmosphere is great. It’s mostly pub food. I’ve always had great service. Last evening my waitress was named Pam. Had nice friendly small talk anbout JFK. ( I was in my uniform uniform) and always checked up on me. Been . I’ve never had Pam as my waitress. I asked if she was a New. She said no, she’s actually been there a long time. I’m very happy with the food/price/service. The view is great. Especially in the early evening. They turn on the deck lights and dim the other lights On the deck very casual. Nice menu variety, and very fair prices. For the times we are currently in give this place a shot. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Not many places like this left anymore. Bon appétit, and enjoy the view.
Great find, on the water - a short distance from JFK Airport. Nice spacious deck, good draft beer selection, and delicious and very reasonably priced. Stopped for dinner + drinks. Highly recommend the Broiled Seafood Platter. Waitress was very friendly and efficient. Food came out quickly. (Below photo from restaurant deck.) (And don't let drive down street through industrial section put you off.)
A simple drive through the neighborhood would not indicate that you might find a dining experience to write about. I’m here to tell you that if ever in New York, Queens to be exact, seafood lovers you must experience Bayhouse. Situated on the water, Bayhouse is a quaint restaurant with patio seating overlooking the water. A dimly lit dining room provides a fine dining ambiance. Our server Carolina was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. She provided exceptional service! The food was absolutely amazing… from the appetizer to the entrées. Bayhouse offers a full bar with TVs, a vibe that many will appreciate and something I’ve never seen… a new school juke box. Yes, you get to be the DJ. Parking may be a problem at Bayhouse but for the experience, it’s worth figuring that part out. As you can tell, this was a gratifying experience. I highly recommend Bayhouse. Yes, my plated was cleaned🤩
Omgness this place is so relaxing, beautiful & serves the finest food. It has a naval decor throughout that is breathtaking. It’s outdoor seating features a deck right on the edge of the water bay. The view showcases beautiful homes plus yachts and endless water views. The neighborhood is small, quaint and a bit traditional. This is definitely a seafood destination place. The service from staff is great, the food comes out quickly and tastes fresh, well done and is presented beautifully. When visiting the Rockaway’s GO HERE!
Bayhouse has a lovely by the water vibe. There was a wait time so be prepared as it's a very popular spot. Food was really good. I loved the French onion soup and the fish and chips were fresh and flavorful. Loved the thickness of the fries especially. Drinks were very strong and worth the $12 price tag.
Absolutely amazing. There’s really nothing like dining on the water front especially at sunset. The hues of orange, gold and purple makes for the most romantic atmosphere. Suitable for date nights, after work hangouts or family gatherings. Casual and relaxing atmosphere. Food and service is excellent. 10/10 recommend.
Great spot on the water. You might need extra layers when sitting outside because of the cooler wind that can we be quite strong. The all- American comfort dishes were our favorites. I would describe it as a great casual place to hang out. We enjoyed the Steak melt, burger, and fish & chips. I want to add that the service was just right, I didn’t have to ask for refills nor did I feel like they were hovering.
Down low little spot out in Queens. Brooklyn thoroughbred but I know Queens but never heard of it before. Good luck finding it even with directions. The hint is to make that left at the beginning once you turn off the main avenue.. Once you find it the views in the summer , spring and or fall is quite literally the definition of picturesque.
Attentive and kind staff! Delicious food! Good portions! And sitting outside by the water was the vibe. Driving into the location felt a little sketchy, but once you’re there the establishment is welcoming (and reassuring lol). Parking lot is a little small and was full (seems to be the go to spot for a lot of people), but you can work around it to find parking. Can’t wait to go back!
The atmosphere there was amazing! Great music choices, the drinks were very good as well. The pasta didn’t come out steaming out , was more like medium hot. Therefore eating outside with the wind made the food cold very quick! The service and attention from the staff was phenomenal. Will be back again with my wife for the chicken teriyaki dumplings and margaritas. Thank you BayHouse for the experience !!!!🫶🏻
Update... Retired and checking out a favorite place again.. Still fantastic food and drink. It's early April, so indoor it is, but it's so nostalgic for me...So many retirement parties for friends long gone and days far past It's a gem in Queens. Highly recommended Keep this place alive forever My favorite escape from working at the airport. You can come here at lunch on a beautiful day and quickly forget your at work. While your busy forgetting business, the menu is great. Must try the French onion soup, my absolute favorite. The outside deck is fantastic. Driving here you will wonder if the directions were accurate, but go a few hundred feet further and its a whole other world. I've never had a bad meal here. I've eaten here when it was 90°+ and when the bay was frozen solid as far as you can see. Try it....i guarantee you will love it!
We went to Bayhouse several times! Love the food we ordered, very delicious, very comforting atmosphere, beautiful water, and everyone who works there is very accommodating, patient, and interested in what you're ordering. A very friendly atmosphere! Very comfortable and relaxing! I went with my family and everytime I go I always get the waitress named Carolina! She was very friendly, polite, and always accomodating. I loved how she comes back to the table to ask if we need anything which was very impressive. She didn't just leave us sitting there. I'll be coming back again. Thank you Bayhouse for your hospitality!!
My flight was delayed for several hours. I decided to check the local area for cool places to kill some time. This place was incredible! The service was friendly and helpful and my kids enjoyed the video game machines. It overlooks the water giving the house place a great vibe. Great music and the food was delicious! Overall couldn’t be happier! Thank you!
The food was awesome, the service was amazing and I love the after work bar vibes. The only downside is there is one bathroom stall for the women. And the road floods so watch out for high tide
Great view, great broiled seafood, warm and friendly atmosphere, just 15 mind from JFK Terminal 8
This spot is a hidden gem. One of the best spots for seafood in the area. Love the crab cake, fried calamari and fish and chips.
Maxine (bartender) and Carolina (server) were very professional and courteous. The food was amazing and the ambience was top notch! We were a table of 9 and everything was hot and delicious when it came out. Highly recommend.
Amazing restaurant. The food was so delicious and mouth-watering that we simply did not have time to take a photo of it. Very welcoming atmosphere, very clean, the food was fresh and hot. At first it was a little scary because it was necessary to drive through a suspicious street with trucks, but when we got to the restaurant we did not regret it for a second. Very beautiful location, fresh air and seafood. We were also offered a children's menu, since we were with a child. We will definitely come back, thank you for a wonderful evening!
On May 18, Ms. Chelsea, and on May 20, Ms. Pam, had both been pleasant, attentive and nice to us. The 18th was my Nay’s 93rd birthday and on the 20th was a get together with our friends. Bayhouse serves fresh, tasty food with water view and planes overhead on the 18th. Their servings are quite filling. My Nay liked her Broiled Seafood Combo. Our guests on the 20th were pleased with their Seafood Linguine, Fish & Chips, Broiled Flounder, Key Lime Pie and Cheesecake😋. My husband liked the Tuna special as well. The complimentary variety of bread and butter that we were served on the 20th were warm and good. My virgin pinacolada was pricey at $12 and in a plastic cup. My husband’s Steak Melt on the 18th was skimpy. Overall, we had two very good experiences in Bayhouse. On the 20th, we chatted a long time after our desserts. Ms. Pam served us a second set of water with lemon slices and also a pitcher of water. Thank you, Ms. Pam & Ms. Chelsea!
Such a cool experience! You get to sit out on the water. I went on a beautiful day. The sun was shining, breeze was breezing, waves were waving… Espresso Martinis were 🤌🏽 Baked Clams = yumm 🤤 It’s next to the airport so you get to watch the beautiful planes fly by. Loved it. Highly recommend going out there on a nice day and sipping some martinis! The bar inside was amazing too! And oh… awesome staff! The service was GREAT!
A hole in a wall type of place. Close to JFK and definitely worth the trip to. The view overlooking the bay is amazing and the food is excellent. I was in Long Island for a week and the steak here outshined places that charged twice the price. We had dinner and went back again for lunch the next day.
Great place. Use a map to find it. Like a hidden gem. Party of 6-food was great. Service was great-did slow down toward the end. Apple pie desert was great. Drinks were great. Calamari was really fresh and tasty. I will be going back to dine outdoor since it was a little cold today and rained.
The food is amazing, it's a lowkey spot that has amazing views. I would highly recommend the lobster roll and calamari!

For the best burgers, wings, fish, and drinks this is the place to go.\nThe food is excellent.
sit outside with view of lagoon. Good service. Recommend the baked clams and chicken quesadillas. Indoor and outdoor seating . Close to JFK airport. Down a industrial street.

Nice, out of the way place. The food was very good. Service was ok but not good on some basics. No one came to our table for almost 15 minutes, no water brought, no bread, then no butter, then plates not cleared. The saving grace is the deck on the bay. Sit by the waters edge and watch the planes go by.
A true hidden gem this place is with a bartender that keeps the drinks and conversation going. Fresh seafood that is well seasoned and not overcooked is in abundance here but the bayhouse burger is also a hit. In warmer weather make this place one of your regular haunts, the views of Jamaica Bay (hence the name Bayhouse) is so worth it 😍🐟🦐🦀🍔🍤🍻
I always have great food 🥩🍗🥗 and drinks 🍷🥃 at The Bay House 🏡 !! The atmosphere is good and nice music that's not one tracked. Service is not bad either. If your in just having good food good vibes and great scenery and looking at the horizon on the bay I greatly suggest you try them out.
Well, I think I been their maybe once possible twice since Big Sandy came threw. From a couple of times a week before. It still looks the same some what on the inside. But they rebuilt the outside seating and 🚢 dock. I don't recall if they always had that short viewing deck? If not? They do now! The food has always been good. But they had shortened the menu to I would say 3/4 🌊 food. In which I'm not a ⛵️ 🐚 🦭 person. Oh, and for the drinkers the 🍸 🍸 still looked and is stocked the same.
Hidden gem in this area. You will not expect to find a waterfront seafood restaurant and bar in this narrow street with big trucks nearby. You will think your GPS probably give you wrong direction, lol. I have a business meeting in this area and I accidentally find this place. Highly recommend if you are in this area and need a place to eat and meet.
This place is in the dumps. Absolutely in the dumps but.....they had good parking and EXCELLENT FOOD. The service was great. My salmon was perfectly cooked. Loved the food.
The experience here was totally run by our bartender and server, Elaine. She is a wonderful human!!! Easy to talk to, funny, and knows how to pour a Guiness!! Originally was only goingntonstaybforn1 hour but between my canceled dinner plans and Elaine, we stayed for 4 hours. They had a nice selection and Elaine checked in on us consistently to make sure we were fine! We also ate very well. Had the bowl of clam chowder, linguine with white clam sauce with lots of garlic and finally got a burger a little later when we decided to stay longer. What a great experience. Definitely need a return especially when Elaine is there!!
The food is very good and it’s on the water. Enjoyed a nice breeze. They fish and chips are excellent. Service was so low and not enough servers.
Unfortunately celebration was for my late niece but the Bayhouse did an incredible job with a wonderful buffet dinner with fabulous choices and very nice beer and wine included.
Always a nice visit on a sunny afternoon for lunch on the water or a sit-down dinner and drinks inside the restaurant. The menu items are vast with both bar food and entrees. I've never had anything I didn't like here. The staff is friendly and service very efficient. Revisited 9/14/24 and I'll say again, the staff and service is excellent. Nothing over the top but basic consideration and decency go such a long way for me. I stress this because I've been out many times, and the service was not pleasant. Having a great dinner last night was partly due to the mannerisms of The Bayhouse employees. In addition, all of our food was amazing and the mixed drinks were nice nad strong. I can only describe this restaurant as a hidden gem or diamond in the rough. Needless to say but I will always be up for lunch or dinner here.Revisited 9/14/24 and I'll say again, the staff and service is excellent. My second visit, this time we sat outside&it was a good choice. Sipped on rum punch..tasty but didn't pack a punch. For appitizers we ordered raw clams(to small)&coconut shrimp egg rolls a little greasy but tasty. Photos include broiled seafood w/mix veggies& mashed potatoes. So yummy, cooked perfectly. Blackened salmon w/potatoes&mixed veggies. Another hit.
The food was okay. The pasta had little to no flavor, unfortunately and my mozzarella sticks came out mid temperature, not hot at all. As pictured, my friend got quesadillas and chicken tenders and she said it was good. The one thing that was super good was the Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri.
Nice backside by the water to sit out on a warm day. Food was okay, we got basic meals. The service was SUPER BAD. I'd actually give it minus 5 stars.
The restaurant was decent. The food was average, nothing to make me coming running back. The food needed more refinement. Either seasoning or small touches like toasting the lobster roll bun. The mixed drinks were disappointing. I loved the ambiance though. I chose to dine outside and landed a table right next to the water. I’m not going to lie I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience. It was far too loud inside between the music and the large parties. If your looking for a more intimate experience; I’d recommend sitting outside.
Okay, so here is the run down on this spot. They have Ample amount of parking and more than enough seating in the restaurant. The bathrooms were clean and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. It was kind of difficult to find because it's located in the way back lol. Now for the food looks delicious right? Well I wasn't a fan of this meal. It was super lemon tasting and I couldnt eat it. I ordered chicken fingers and it was okay.. Maybe another selection would have been better. Try it out for yourself though..
First, I must admit that I am a foodie! If you are seeking a genuine Italian - American restaurant offering excellent cuisine, this is not the ideal choice. The seafood linguine is of a mediocre standard, lacking in any noteworthy features. This is my fifth visit to this establishment. The beverages are somewhat disappointing, but I must confess that it's a pleasant surprise. It would be prudent to take a few minutes to visit Randazzo Restaurant in Sheepshead Bay. You will be grateful later, I assure you. Signed: Unhappy!
If you are looking for an authentic Italian restaurant with good food, this is NOT IT! The seafood linguine is mediocre, nothing to write about. This is my 5th time at this establishment. The drinks are below par, lol! Take a few minutes and ride on to Randazzo Restaurant in Sheepshead Bay. You'll THANK ME LATER - LOL! Signed: Unhappy!
It’s really a bar on the water that serves some seafood. Very plain aside from it being waterfront. Took my parents here since I saw the reviews were good but it’s not really a restaurant for any kind of company. It’s a very good bar to meet up with casual friends. The fried calamari is awful.
What you pay for is sitting by the water, honestly. The atmosphere didn't match the food quality sadly. The starberry daiquiri was premade and extremely artificial tasting (they are charging $15 by the way - unacceptable). The appetizer sampler was more fried zucchini than anything else. The lobster roll was alright. The surface and turf lobster was overcooked. The broiled seafood plate was alright.
Keepin it real out here by..... the water, JFK, Queens, Long Island I should like this spot, it's got the views, the vibe everything I can ask for in a waterfront place, but when that burger bill came out to $25.59 i was pretty shooken.... I got takeout cause I was starving I think the menu advertised it as $12 or $13, I understand with tax and whatnot will add up to $15 but a whole 2X?! Burger was pretty average, would've tasted better if it was reasonably priced. Lesson is, ask what the total is before placing the order
loved the Bayhouse, always a nice vibe but last night 8/15 /2025 was disgusting. Was seated but sat 15 min and nobody came over, had to go ask the young girl servers who was our waiter, she said Ric…
Waste of Money and Disappointing Experience Firstly, having a rat near our table on the dock was completely unacceptable and unsanitary. To make matters worse, we were served only four mozzarella sticks for $11, which felt like a rip-off. The drinks were even more disappointing—virtually no alcohol in them, and we left them 3/4 full. The waitress was dismissive and seemed uninterested in providing decent service. I’m used to fine dining, but this experience was far from it—disgusting and inhospitable.
I hardly ever write reviews but this def needed to be said. My family and I went there for Mother's Day yesterday and it was the worst experience all around that we've ever had. We had a 5pm reservation and when we got there, we were waiting for at least 45 minutes before we got seated. Not because the place was busy but because one of the servers said to us "your table is there but I'm not going to clean it so I don't know how long you'll need to wait." We had to find a server and beg them to clean the table so that we can get seated. We then got seated, ordered our food because we were so hungry at this point, and received the food an hour later. The food was really really bad- lacks flavor and very disappointing. No server in sight to ask for anything else. Then we get the check and on the menu it says parties of 5 or more had an automatic 18% gratuity, but our check said "sharing fee $2" We asked what this is and he said "sharing fee to split the tips because holiday weekend." We've never heard of that ever and asked them to remove it and they did. We left at 8:15pm. People were coming in asking to be seated (plenty of open tables inside and outside) and they told them it will be 45 minutes to just get seated. I think people go for the view but I really don't recommend coming here.
We visited there for the 1st time yesterday inspired by the water view and a marine athmosphere with the best mindset. We sat by the table for over 30 mins, the waiters saw us but never approached us even once, no drink suggestion, no anything. As for Saturday - they were NOT crazy busy, no excuses here. There was a couple that came after us and a young waiter approached them apologizing for the long wait, sic!- we were before them. Upset we left and we will not try to comeback. At the end we saw another waiter smoking a cig at the back of the cottage, having all the time of the world to have a break but not helping the clients. The service is unattentive and very unwelcoming. Things there happen at their own pace, guests are for the restaurant, not the other way round. Sad, as this place has a great potential but I am guessing the management has enough money and all the courage to ignore the presence of guests. I worked in this business and never saw such an unprofessional client service, rather - a complete lack of it.
