They have many great options on the menu with fabulous names. My Gold Digger's omelette was delicious, and my friend's French toast was delish as well. It's very busy on the weekend, but they did a good job seating us with a short wait. It's a good spot for breakfast and brunch in Denton.

Where there is a wait, must be good. Portion sizes are big! The Benny is yummy. The fried chicken with nacho that I got, pretty good too, taste a bit like nacho cheese. Chocolate was big, and abit over the top. Good to share.

Every time I walked past the restaurant, I wondered why there were so many people there. When I got inside, I understood. Everything is spectacular! I think the cafe is very big, but everything is big and delicious. Highly recommended! 👌

Got the chicken fried steak it was good also got biscuits and grave on the side was a hitter I love a good biscuit and gravy they also add sausage to itvif you want to which was good never had it like that they had some big pancakes so good as well the hash brown casserole was good too.

Everything tasted good with large portions. Our waitress Lindsey V was great, smiling, happy and attentive. Will definitely go back. They do not do Military discounts or college student discounts (they are in a college town and should consider discounts). We will go back.

First and foremost- this restaurant is busy and for good reason. If you have a large group or not, be prepared to wait 10 mins for a table- luckily food comes out pretty fast. We visited on a rainy day and opted for hot drinks with our meal and were not disappointed. We ordered a Pumpkin spice and a Turtle cappuccino- they were smooth, well flavored, and there were plenty of non-dairy options! We also ordered two french toast meals(one strawberry cheesecake and another pumpkin cheesecake) they were both very filling, perfectly done and that cinnamon toast coating and candied pecans were delightful! I also recommend the hashbrown casserole- it was cheesy, creamy, and still had a crisp top. The other items were standard eggs, sausage, and bacon but we opted for a side of a cinnamon roll for one of them and were happy to get a big fluffy biscuit-y cinnamon roll- it was great!! We spent about $60 in total and had enough for another meal- the tables around us also had heaps of leftovers too. We'll be back, and recommend others give this place a try.

Everything was delicious. Flapjacks are huge and incredibly good. Same goes for the iced coffee Get Snickered - it was perfect! Highly recommended.

My wife and I went here for the first time and had a great experience. The staff was welcoming and attentive, the food was fresh and flavorful, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy our time together. We’ll definitely be back!

My sausage, hashbrown casserole and the housemade salsa were phenomenal! My coffee was amazing! I was disappointed in my cheese grits they were very watery and my fried eggs were rubbery and bland. I could tell they sat for a while before the rest of my plate was ready. Service was great. Atmosphere is rustic. I would go back to the plate sized pancake.

**The Hungry Beard** Honest food review for Oldwest Cafe of Denton I’m reviewing this for their breakfast/brunch Food: 4.2 A very good brunch/breakfast spot. I ordered an array to really get a feel for the place. The menu is extravagant..took me some time. The flap jack was great. Huge portion, great flavor. Not too dry. Biscuits and sausage gravy were good. Biscuit was soft/thick and gravy was a good consistency. The bacon wasn’t as crispy as I like and was thicker cut, so had a bit of a meaty chew to it. The fried potatoes were delicious and crispy. Honestly probably the best ones I’ve had, most places are soggy. The ham was mid. Not my favorite. I ordered over easy eggs and they were very watery once cut. The whites weren’t done (sigh). Waitress quickly brought me over medium (Which shouldn’t be the doneness of the white. Over easy eggs have a runny yolk, while over medium eggs have a slightly more cooked, jammy yolk). Nonetheless they were better and more so what the over easy should have been. Be advised when ordering them this way. Ramsey does say a true test for a chef is make him cook an egg! French toast was excellent, and the fruit was fresh. Other than the egg debacle, I can see why so many people eat here. Huge portions, large menu to cater to a lot of different people, and the food is well above chain breakfast spots. Not innovative, but good! Service: 4.0 Nothing spectacular here to report, but the job was done. She asked how our food was and I gave my feedback on the eggs. She quickly offered to remake them. Atmosphere: 3.6 I ate here for Tuesday brunch. It was still pretty busy and loud. They have lots of seating (booths as well). It appeared clean. Decor gives me Cracker Barrel vibes. Lots of families, kids, & babies. If this describes you, you’ll fit in just fine! Hard to find places to bring kids/big families, and this is a good breakfast spot with a menu that will appeal to a lot of variety of people. If you’re looking for a romantic brunch spot though this isn’t the place. Overall: 4.0 Good breakfast/brunch spot for Denton, and can see why so many people eat here. It’s not on my best breakfast spots, but it’s well above mid. Bring your appetite!

This was one of 3 restaurants that I need to try around the Golden Triangle Mall area, and it was neat. Service is friendly, the atmosphere is pure Old West which looked interesting, and the food is………..ok. The fries tasted alright and the strips was good although it was just a tad bit too spicy. With a few little tweaks the tenders could be so much better. It’s definitely a restaurant I wouldn’t mind coming to every now & then if I’m in the area, but it’s not a restaurant that I’d go out if my way for. Overall, I’d give it a 4/5.

Okay. So let's talk about this place. Oldwest is AMAZING and I thoroughly enjoy the experience when we go (which has been a handful of times). However! Today me and my friend (so 2 people) showed up a little past 11 AM. We knew there would be a wait because there always is. At 11:09 AM, we were officially on the waitlist with an estimate of 30 minutes. At 11:50 AM, we had yet to receive an update (Oldwest uses texts to tell you went your table is ready), so I walked in to ask what the estimate was at. The man at the front cut me off when I tried to ask, looked me up, said there was one table ahead of us and to give them five minutes cause "it's just an estimate". Bear in mind, I was in no way being rude or demanding. I literally just walked in and TRIED to ask for an estimate. I waited with my friend until 12:00 PM, then because we were both starving at this point (hadn't eaten at all yet) we gave up and went to IHOP down 35. I NEVER received a text telling me our table was ready and to come back to the front. Glad we didn't wait. I have never had this experience before, and I know Sundays are busy, but the fact that a table of 2 went from a 30 minute estimate to straight up never getting a table is ridiculous. And the fact the guy got snippy with me really turned me off ever giving them another chance. They get 3 stars because I want to believe this was a one-off, but they have severely damaged my opinion of them today.

Stopped here on a road trip to meet with some family. The food is very good but the staff needs to be on the same page. It was crowded when we got there and were asked to stand against the wall to wait only to be told by someone else to go outside or go back to our car THEN told by someone else to wait at the bar THEN AGAIN told to go outside or to our car. None of these options are problematic but when you are constantly told 3 different things it gets hectic. Our waitress was great however and our food was brought out in a decent amount of time.
