I honestly love coming here with my son. He always has such a blast ordering food and everything. The building is clean and the employees are super friendly.
Are you army? Super convenient, was reconstruction while I was there and they have delicious Phillies and burgers with special topping choices (personally prefer scrambled egg topping over all the others) variety of wings, normal AF dfac section (sometimes good sometimes not) pizza (I don't like it) a foreign section (noodles, chicken, teriyaki or Szechuan sauce pls?) Hot cocoa. Can be fairly crowded and peak times so care, but on off times nice and spacious. (Always got my eggs made not premade, the wait is worth it)
It's a Chow hall dawg, what do you want me to say? I like it. Dine in, take out. Burgers, fries, sub sandwiches, cereal, wraps, salad. Whatever you like they have it. Except for vegans, stay out
It has a pretty good daily selection, and it tells you what you shouldn't shouldn't eat. Some people get used to the food and don't like it, but that hasn't happened to me in the past 4 months I've been here
Greatest Ham & Cheese Omelets. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Midnight Chow. Benefits of being in the Fire Department.
Props to the grill team and every one of the nice folks at western winds
I have been here for a year and the staff and food are both amazing.
The food service workers work really hard here, even with covid still being a thing. They still make feeding the service members a priority.
Best food on a military installation I've had to date. Highly recommended.
The workers are professional as well as top tier in customer service and courtesy
Excellent service, good food and always clean
Great Food and Always available when needed for us military personal
Usually better food here than Cressman's food.
Literally the best chow hall I've ever been to.
Food is really good for a dod dining facility
One of the best chowhalls I've ever been to.
Not bad! Lots of choices. Meat tends to be overdone but I feel that's a military requirement. Some things are really cheap and some are really expensive for what they are if you're not on a meal card.
Clean, plenty of cashiers, tons of choices to choose from. Fruits, veggies, proteins and drink options are amazing!
This dining facility is exquisite. I never had an over cooked meal or dealt with rude staff. I ate 8 boiled eggs every morning, leaving the yolks for the beasts that lived in the dumpster behind (I have a separate review for that). For lunch and dinner I ate 3 chicken breasts and sweet potato fries, with the occasional desert. Every. Single. Day. It was tremendous. I even met my wife here. I can’t really speak on the rest of the food they offer but if you’re here for freshly boiled eggs, grilled chicken, sweet potato fries, and near-single digit body fat, then you’re at the right place.
Everyone complains about it but the staff is friendly, nice but people can get tired of the same food for 6 months. Imo one of the better dfacs tk eat at. Their weekly specials are worth checking out

Good food at a good price. My pics are a bit monochrome, because our picks were a bit monochrome, but they weren't bland.
Good selection of food items here, and a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately not a lot of vegan options. 😣
Like it's just a dining facility with sub par food, still a good place to get a decent meal.
It's the DFac what can I say. The food is good even after being here from too long!
I go for salad. Great price for salad. Toppings and dressings could use work.
I can't be too picky considering I get the food for free.
Good food served here, better than Army food
On base Dfac, good food, free if you live here
It's a defac. Free food that's alright. "They say that in the Army the chow is mighty fine (who said that). The chicken jumped off the table and started marking time. Oh lord I want to go home, but they won't let me go home. They say that in the Army, the coffee’s mighty fine (who said that)! It looks like muddy water, and tastes like turpentine Oh lord I want to go home, but they won't let me go home."
Go there every time I visit my bf on base. THE PHILLY MAINTAINER IS THE GREATEST SANDWICH IN EXISTENCE. The bathrooms are always clean, the lines are good, staff is usually pretty nice, they keep on top of cleaning the tables, it always feels really clean in there. Great variety of food.
The ethnic women giving me food makes me feel right at home 🤗 The clientele here lacks fashion sense though Dont trust the fries or the fish

Overall satisfactory, but my filet was a tad over done and the presentation left a bit to be desired.
Mediocre food, crowded environment, options repeat.... However staff is very friendly, and to-go is covenient.
This is a Military DFAC. They're basically designed to be mediocre slop factories. Don't go to a DFAC expecting a dining experience - it is designed to fill the need for nutrition for a thousand soldiers and nothing more. Food will be overpriced sometimes, and low quality most times. However, some of their food is excellent: Most meat at a DFAC will be cooked until it's basically rubber. This place DOES do Turkey and Pork Schnitzel very well, though. Always juicy and delicious. Additionally, they sometimes have a taco bowl line on the right side, which is basically just Chipotle - hard to go wrong with that one. Always delicious. But always remember not to expect too much because the place is made to get food into the mouths of several hundred military grunts in a very short period of time. You can't expect staff to cater to your every whim or give you 5 star service. They do good at what they're supposed to be doing: getting food on hundreds of plates, and keeping inventory. Anything beyond that is just them going above and beyond because they're nice. That's just the way I see it. ~ A thankful soldier
Good food quality compared to Camp Lejeune , Marines I am sorry if you get stationed there. Food here is overall above average quality for a mess hall, but is outshined by the other facilities on base. There is also a strong odor by the entrances in the morning, not sure what causes this but it can’t be good.
It's an Air Force DFac. It's probably slightly above average. Better than what I had at Leonard Wood, an Army DFac. Burgers are eh, subs are solid. Entre line is usually good, sometimes great, occasionally bad. Grill line occasionally takes a half hour to get through. Lots of fish dishes and chicken almost daily, both of which are sometimes overcooked. Side selection is usually great. Lots of dessert options. Come get some food.
This is a dining facility. So you are obviously going to get what would be a dining facility. However, the staff is just lovely. The food is good, however, It is the same thing every day. Which is all right for going there every once in a while. But for those that are staying there for a prolonged period of time, such as six months. It certainly does get old. However, you cannot argue with free food. The Cressman dining facility is certainly the better of the two. But the Cressman dining facility is not open as frequently as Western Winds dining facility is.
If you are on a meal card it is great. The only stuff worthy to buy is the vegetables and pizza because of the price. Everything else is way over priced like the ridiculous 5$ salad bar and 7$ piece of fish.

This place used to be the best but then they took Ms. Rose away from the morning shift and now im omelets are not made with the same love. #bringbackMs.Rose
The guy serving me sneezed on my food then gave it to me. I wish I was joking.
Currently with my friend who got food poisoning from this dfac. Make it make sense and do better!!
Horrible place to eat if you have to pay here, they up-charge you as much as possible, say you have things on your plate when you don’t, the line staff are nice enough. but most of the cashiers I have ran into they try explicitly to make you pay more, horrible experience. The day Prior cost me $20 for breakfast. The next day cost me 12.20 for 4 eggs that’s one order, scrambled with cheese hash brown small serving, and 3 medium slices of turkey bacon. Avoid if you have to pay they care more about money than service members.

Heavier set and Younger grill line nights worker gave me a philly with no bread and immediately without asking puts ham in my omelette. Hes the only worker ive ever had this problem with. Not to mention the attitude i didnt tell him to come to work.
go to cressman. workers here are rude, and literally refuse to let you get the portions you want, despite it coming out of our/your paychecks. They also don’t stay open as long as their own posted hours say they do.
don’t say you’re open until 1 am if you’re not going to remain open until 1 am. Since you decided to close the dining facility early, I didn’t get to eat.
By far the worst Dfac I’ve been to.
I can't believe how expensive this place is. About $10 for a small meal if you're not military. They charge you for every item you grab, where as Army DFACs charge you a set price of about $5.50 and you can load your tray up to the max, as long as it's reasonable. They even charge for fruits and vegetables, which some people may be discouraged from buying since they could otherwise save money. The food isn't even good; the burgers are $4 and are some of the cheapest patties I've had. Why is the Air Force trying to profit off non meal card holders?! Does the Air Force not see spouses and veterans as family too? I can't remember the last time I went over to a friend's house for dinner only for them to charge me $20 for a glass of water and freezer food.
My first issue is with pricing. If I were a meal card holder then it would've gotten 2 stars. I spent $10 for a lunch here once. What I got was 2 grilled chicken sandwiches like the ones they sell at gas stations, small sweet potato fries which were fine and a 16oz bottle of water. The sandwich itself was insanely dry. No amount of ketchup would have saved it. Food quality and options were lacking at least the day I went and nobody should ever spend that much money for food. I would have gotten a coffee too but I'd imagine it would have been overly expensive
Most dining facilities lock the building down during non operation periods. Westernwinds does not do this. The manager which watched me from the get go, didn't say a word about the facility being closed. He wait for me to pick up some to go food and then came and took it from my hand and told me its now trashed. I offered to pay but apparently it was too late. I find it sad they've put a person in a position of power who thinks its okay as a civilian to treat military in this manner.
last weekend I booked 2 room for 1 night from booking and I bay 100$ for each room at front desk before check in and they taken 70$ after chick out from my credit card. I try now to figure out what happened. I just call the front desk gay which he told me he didn't have any info about that and better call the manager on Monday morning. So I will see and will continue put my comment here if they abuse my credit card ....
