Did I mentioned that they do have an all you can eat breakfast just for $7.99 for adults and $5.99 for children on Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 10:30am? You got to see it to believe it. The location on 281 and bitters is one of the top. They also have it on 1604&Bandera , on Fredericksburg rd , Las Palmas... I just don't want to sit on this without sharing... it's too good to believe

I am here to tell you that The World’s Greatest Luby’s - the one (at 911 N. Main Ave.) in good ol’ Tobin Hill inside the neat ol’ (former) Main Bank and Trust (1959) that was designed by good ol’ Reginald Roberts - which was slated to close for good (forever) - is STILL open!

Took my mom and dad after a doctor's appointment. They love this place. We received assistance with both their trays. Waitress was very attentive. Food was delicious 😋 as usual.

The waitress wasn't a very good one. She was too busy to offer refills, bring napkins, and even acknowledge us. The only time she came to our table was mid-way thru our meal and she was brief even then. She had a lot of time to chat with her co workers and another diner (who wasn't in her area). We left the place without leaving a tip and feeling extremely under-served. Terrible service!

Luby's has always been amazing. It has never dissapointed! When we can't figure out what to eat... go to Luby's! Such an amazing selection of food & dessert!

We haven't eaten here in years (lived out of Texas) and it's still as delicious as before. Our kiddos fell in love with it too. One thing I would've appreciated though, I wouldn't appreciated if they informed us they gave kids plates that are a different color than ours, so we could pay kid's prices. We were told by our server after we sat down. You see kiddos, ask if the parents want kiddo plates!

I hadn't been to a Luby's in over s decade since my Father passed because it was our "go to spot" for liver & onions. I had it again this day & it brought back several great memories. The place seemed the same yet better somehow.

My friend had a very casual wedding on the Riverwalk and decided to have their reception at Luby's on Main St. At first, it sounded odd to be having it there. However, it was a wonderful event. Everyone loved the fact that they had so many options. My past experience at another location wasn't that great so we don't go there often. My baked chicken was delicious. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. The wait staff was so helpful. I really appreciated their attending the guest. Now I know why that location has been so successful for decades.

Every time I come back to visit Texas, particularly SA, I always come to eat at this Luby's location. The food overall has always been fresh and tasty. Even the desserts are good. The chicken fried steak, macaroni and cheese and the rolls are very tasty. Sadly, I think as a whole, most Luby's have now closed. Come visit this old Texas institution before it's too late. I'll be back for sure on my next visit.

One of our favorite locations. Side options are better than other locations because they usually have all the ones we like. We go for the fish plate combo. They do have more than a few fish options. It’s something we have been eating our whole lives & will keep going back for more. Yeah they do get busy especially during lunchtime.

Just the same as it has been for decades. Fish and tartar sauce are awesome. Desserts are great. Staff is helpful and kind. I hate to see Luby’s closing locations, but this one is iconic, never close! If it just wasn’t so darn expensive!!! But it is a treat!

Good food. Reasonable prices and Cafeteria style good selection. They change the food on the steam table often to be sure it is fresh. I always get the fried fish on the Louann plate (smaller Portion) but it is plenty for me. I've been visiting this location over 50 years. Always consistently good. Service is attentive.

My sister and I had lunch at this location as we were celebrating my mother’s birthday and she loved Luby’s. My sister had a veggie plate and I had turkey and dressing with broccoli and green beans. We both had jalapeño cornbread too. I was impressed with this location as it was bright and cheerful and appeared updated (the carpet could use replacing). The attendants in the restaurant were attentive and friendly as well. We had a very nice lunch remembering our mother and how much she she would have lived to be there with us.

Outstanding Service & Hospitality – Thank You, Luby’s! This past Saturday during early lunch, our family found ourselves needing a last-minute place to gather due to unforeseen circumstances. What could have been a stressful situation turned into a wonderful experience thanks to the amazing staff at Luby’s. We arrived with a group of 15 people to celebrate both a birthday and a going-away for a family member. The cashiers were incredibly kind and immediately assured us they would be happy to accommodate our group. A very special shout-out goes to our waitress, Ms. Angela, who truly went above and beyond. She graciously allowed us to set up a tabletop cover and bring in a birthday cake for the birthday girl. She handled our large group with ease—keeping drinks filled, checking in for refills, responding to extra requests, and making sure everyone was taken care of. She was absolutely on top of her game. We are so thankful for the kindness, patience, and professionalism shown to our family. Experiences like this remind you how much great staff matter. This location was very busy, luckily for me they have a drive - thru. The young gentlemen who took my order was very nice and patient. Didn’t take long at all to wait. The wait was a few minutes but it was lunch time. It’s so convenient to know that this location has a drive-thru.

Today I found my favorite Luby’s server! We decided to sit in booths near window area where you can see the handicap parking. This section is covered by a server (I think her name was Nicole?) that provided excellent customer service. Always attentive and always clearing our table of used empty dishes without interrupting our conversation yet very communicative in asking if we needed anything. We left with a wonderful experience. Now I know where I am sitting to be attended by our new favorite server. Hopefully next time I can get her name and be 100% right…. My food was cold , but my server brought me another hot item. My server was a little too antsy to get me out and moving. As I was gathering my items, he took my plates and started wiping down the table, but I was still drinking my water. He needs a little more training on customer service and putting on a smile. I still left him a tip though.

On the day we visited Luby's the line was a little long but moving along at a good pace. We arrived around 1 pm so this was expected. Both hubby and I ordered the Luann Plates 🍽. We both ordered the Bacon 🥓 Cheese Chopped Steak. For my sides I had the scallop potatoes 🥔 that had wonderful flavor. My other side was corn 🌽 along with cornbread 😋. Hubby's side dishes were mashed potatoes 🥔 and mac and cheese 🧀. The mac and cheese 🧀 was delicious 😋. Update on our last visit I'm not sure who was supposed to be our server 🤔, no one stopped by the table to see if we needed anything. The food was still delicious 😋

My wife loves luby's and I'm more like so-so about it. It kind of reminds me of a hospital cafeteria except the food is better at luby's. Instead of the usual fried Chicken or Luanne platter I switched it up and got the hamburger steak and cheese. My wife had the chicken-fried steak. Nothing special about either dish.... it was good though. Big pieces of broccoli I also finished it off with a nice dessert. I would like to try other items on the menu but with this economy it's kind of hard to go out and eat these days. Most likely we will come back cuz there's always seats available , the food's always hot and ready and there's always parking. Thanks Luby.

Fairly well executed cafeteria. No surprises, plenty of options. My fried chicken was crispy and cooked through. Could have used more seasoning. The sides were above average. Service is what stood out on this visit. Friendly at the service counter and fantastic at the table

My last review was 4 years ago and desperately needed an update. It was a delight. Service was a little slow at the drive through but everything was delicious. Quick visit following an appointment downtown. Extremely convenient with friendly staff.

Haven’t been to Lubys in 40 years. But as I left the doctors office, I noticed one nearby so we went. I was surprised at the food prices! For the Luann plate it was almost $10. ($9.99) for one plate and nine dollars for the other. I had fried fish which was supposed to be half of a fish patty and two sides with roll. She cut the fish patty in almost half and then gave me the smaller and then half of it fell off. So I ended up with three bites of fish. The mac & cheese tasted like paste on a plate. Mother had the roast pork. It was mostly grease and it was cold because the grease was coagulated on her plate. Since I needed help with my mom, a young lady came over and helped me with her tray and sat us right next to a fan because the air conditioner was broken. When the young lady came by to ask if everything was OK I tried to respond, but she couldn’t hear me so she would walk away. She couldn’t hear because the fan was so loud. For two Louann‘s and an iced tea it was almost $24. We could’ve eaten better and had faster fresher food at a full service restaurant for that price. I’m not sure how Lubys is still in business with the overpriced, no senior citizen priced Luanne plate and the poor location maintenance . Maybe it will be another 40 years before I ever go back.

I ordered a Thanksgiving package on-line. Picking up items was fast and easy. The smoked turkey was delicious. The stuffing was good. It had lots of flavor. The gravy was fine. Rolls, good. However, the order clearly indicated homemade cranberry sauce. It was, instead, canned jellied cranberry sauce. Very disappointing. I also paid an extra $40 for a whole German chocolate cake. I was disappointed and embarrassed at the state of the cake. It looked beautiful on the outside, but upon cutting the first slice, the cake just crumbled. The more I cut, the more it crumbled to pieces. Not one slice held its shape. We gathered the pieces on the plate and tried to enjoy it. I have baked many cakes. This is not how a good cake behaves. Out of frustration, I ended up throwing most of the cake away. I would like a refund on the cake but I won't hold my breath.

The drive-thru is ALWAYS so slow! I always end up waiting 15+ minutes with 4 or less cars ahead of me. And the Lu-ann portion is ridiculously small for what you pay for it. Update: Drive-thru still sooo slow. I was in line for 30 minutes! I wouldn't have even waited if I wasn't blocked in by the car in front of me and the one behind me. Never again. The food isn't worth the wait.

There was no mash potatoes and when they did make some, it did not taste good. Cashier was in a rush that he did not give us for a tip as we requested and tried to keep money from prior. Listen I haven't been to Luby's in over 6 years. So we're in San Antonio and we decided to go since it's been awhile and all the locations in DFW are no more. We'll it's safe to say, I will NEVER visit another one and here's why. This location "presented" it's self as clean. The staff was super nice and helpful. We got our food with no problem since it wasn't that busy. I had the fried fish, cabbage, macaroni and cheese with a wheat dinner roll. My husband went for the chicken fried chicken, broccoli and cabbage with a jalapeño cornbread. All was well until I was eating the macaroni and cheese. I stirred it up and noticed a whole bug in the bottom of the dish 🤮🤮. Yes, the staff responded quickly and took my entrée off of our ticket. People, I was so done!! Bugs and hair in food disgust me! Never again Luby's!

The bacon cheesesteak, liver & onions & catfish were good. The vegetables - green beans, Mac n cheese, carrots, cabbage, yams & mashed potatoes need alittle tender loving care with some seasoning! Now I was very DISAPPOINTED in the veggie plate they charged for a kids chicken tender meal for $6 and it wasn't a full scoop of veggies nor any meat. This is RIDICULOUS.. This will never happen again for me! I could have paid $4 more and had a meat & full scoops of sides! For the price I paid things could have been alittle better!

Dining area needs cleaning. Full house and people were standing around for a table to be cleaned (see pics). It's been like this on my last 2 visits. Food is decent. Servers and friendly, the managers and the cashiers not so much.

Terrible experience. First off it way too expensive for the quality of food they now serve. I had the turkey dinner, and I must say it was bad. Turkey had no taste, room temperature at best, the mashed potatoes tasted from the box, the gravy was packaged and way too salty, the dinner rolls were hard. Loved it, felt good and brought back childhood memories. Service was great, only downer for some reason the food did not taste the same. I got the chicken fried chicken, mash potatoes, Mac n cheese and the rolls with a strawberry shortcake. Everything was missing seasoning besides the strawberry shortcake of course. But I ate it since I spent money on it.

Hadn't been to Lubys in a while, food always stellar, service on the line great, server Monica had great attitude, but my experience was killed when the lady at register asked if we needed cash back which we we were not familiar with since again hadn't been to Lubys in a min. With a terrible attitude, and unfriendly curt response this lady named Mona said "it's so you can tip your server" I feel like there was no need for that tone or attitude. What if I wasnt even local? Ya hear so many great things about Lubys for the vibe to be killed just like that. What if we already have cash on hand and just want to pay for food with our card? All it takes is one person to ruin an experience. It could have been handled differently or possibly even used different verbiage like "Thank you for asking. We have this option for our customers incase they aren't carrying cash and would like to tip their servers." Then as we sat at our table, Mona must have really been in a mood bc I witnessed her cussing at her coworkers about stuff that needed to be done before end of shift bc they were closing in less than an hour. Honestly, ur having a bad day in service industry, clock out n come back when ur straight. No one needs to hear that while dining or be treated or spoken to in that manner at work. Would not recommend eating at this location.

I was there yesterday evening close to 7pm, the lady who rang us up was very rude, unfriendly and lacked the skills to provide great customer service; I will never frequent your restaurant again;

Don’t order food to go here. I waited an additional 15 minutes after UberEats said my order was ready. I ended up throwing the food away because the employee wasn’t wearing gloves and boxed it carelessly breaking the tab to close the container. It was understaffed and extremely busy so I didn’t bother asking them for a new container.

Poor food, was not fully cooked, we didn't have a lot of options to choose from due to almost closing time, but I feel that no matter what time it was suppose to close should still have variety of options for us to choose from. We only had one option to choose and that was meat loaf. So we took it to end up not eating it. The manager was understanding and gave us a full refund ,the server was polite and friendly so thank you for that. So I just feel that we should still the variety of options to chose from ,instead of trying to rush out of there due to closing time. So this was our meat loaf and this is the way it was also served looked like dog food.

First time visiting this place and the service was trash. They treated me like I was in prison at the assembly line. I was able to get my kids something to eat, but the food selection was not what it was supposed to be online. They lied about what would be available online. So, it's best to call and get the menu items before going. This place was like something out of a nightmare and I will not be back. And when I say a nightmare, I mean it. I think about going and it does not feel real. They did not even make me a plate with what I wanted all because either was not an entree but some sides. The lady that tried retelling me how to say salmon was rude. I can't help that I came from Arkansas and have an accent to the way I say words. Anyhow, be careful with the places you visit here in Texas. They can make your experience horrible.

I saw how a manager treated a custom n decided to leave...he treated her so disrespectful as if she was trying to steal food or something. The food portions got ridiculously smaller and when we sat at our table the waitress did not even ask if we needed anything. I had to go on a mission to find straws by myself. Came back to find her asking my friend do we need anything about 20 mins later Uh yea we did but we got it. Then she never came back to check on us .. only to clear our plates.

kitchen staff was rude and rushing us to order,they slammed our food on our plates making them sloppy 😒 my fish was under cooked and the cabbage needed seasoning for the price it's not worth another trip to this location. After speaking with the manager and showing him my under cooked fish he refunded me for the fish which was great customer service to me! our actual server never checked on us to see if we needed anything and for me that's not good service 😒

Tried ordering a turkey dinner with Felix they were out. Proceeded to order the fried fish and a kids meal. Felix comes back with an adult meal instead of the kids meal. Tried charging me without telling me it isn’t a kids meal. Told him I didn’t want it. Continues to ring me up for a kids meal which I’m fine with but refuses to give me the drink and jello which was the whole reason I ordered the kids meal. Felix was extremely rude about the whole situation and very unprofessional. Never got my jello or drink
