Awesome experience and awesome servers, AJ was a good sport and kept us entertained and serving us the best food.
The atmosphere is great, the food is excellent, and their beer is outstanding—especially the Double IPA, which I absolutely love. The best part, though, is the customer service. I usually sit at the bar, and the bartenders are the best in the area. Angelo during the weekdays and Mary Diane on Saturdays are true assets to the place.
My wife and I popped in here after a show at the Masonic in San Francisco. It was on our way home to Santa Cruz. We came in around 10:30 on a Wednesday night and got the best server, Nikki. She made us feel very welcome, she didn’t rush us, and she got our orders perfect. The main reason we come here is for the pizookie. They’re a unique and excellent dessert. And now you can get a small one or a large one, which I believe is a new option. I got the ribeye and as far as steaks go, it was pretty great, especially for the price. I got it rare and they nailed it. The avocado egg roll was a great appetizer and the pizza is “pretty good,” and for my not-picky wife, that’s a pretty solid review. But literally none of this would matter to us without the excellent service we received. So the five stars is coming from Nikki. She killed it. Best service we’ve had in months.
My boyfriend and I are regulars for happy hour. We always have good service but today, our server was exceptional! AJ was very attentive and friendly. Our orders were taken in a timely manner and our food came out very fast.
The atmosphere here is great, the food is excellent, and the beer selection is outstanding, especially the Double IPA, which is my favorite. What really sets this place apart, though, is the customer service. I usually sit at the bar, and the bartenders are some of the best around. Angelo during the weekdays and Mary Diane on Saturdays are true assets to this place and always make the experience even better.
5 Star Review all goes to Darell. He made sure that we were taken care of and did not forget to make my Dad's birthday extra special with a Delicious Pizookie on the house. Thank You very much Darell, You are an Amazing and Attentive server!
We came in deep with a large group and serious dietary restrictions (2 with celiac and 1 vegetarian). The restaurant was short on staff for the amount of guests to serve at that late hour, but they nailed it! They met every mark and nobody got sick from cross contact. This is a HUGE deal!! Highly recommend!!
I’ve been coming here for years. It’s become my “Cheers” solely because of the level of customer service I receive FROMA FEW PARTICULAR bartenders when I’m here. Yeah they have good beer, and they always have my games on, but the service I receive from my two favorite bartenders as why I keep coming. As a single person, I prefer to sit at the bar when I’m here. It makes you feel less alone. And Jianna and Kaira are why. Jianna always greets me with a smile and knows my order by heart. She always ask about any updates on my life and genuinely cares to hear the response. They are both very present and involved. One time, weeks after telling them something (then not coming back for a while), they still remembered and asked me about that situation from before. It was really nice to know they remembered that. Anytime I have questions about new beers or new menu items they are both always able to answer my questions. It’s not the decor or music that creates the atmosphere. It’s THEIR smile, laughter, knowledge, service … and ENERGY behind the bar that creates the atmosphere.
As a person with very high anxiety, let me say from the moment we walked in till the moment we left I felt really welcomed and safe. We had such a wonderful dining experience for my son’s birthday thanks to our server Mina, she was amazing. She was warm, friendly, and attentive. She made us feel welcome right from the start and checked in at just the right times to make sure everything was perfect. Her smile and positive attitude really stood out and made our meal extra enjoyable she also explained the menu very well everything she recommended was great. The food was good but her outstanding service is what made the night memorable. Thank you for going above and beyond—we’ll definitely be back!
What an awesome place to stop before getting on a flight at the San Francisco airport! We hit the jackpot! This establishment had just opened when we arrived at 11 AM…we had to be at the airport at 12:30. Wednesday had some great specials. $5 for their house drafts (including IPA’s and double IPA’s)!!! The double was excellent. I got one of the deluxe burger specials with fries for $12! My wife got the pizza special with salad and dessert for $13! Everything tasted wonderful. You will pay three or four times this amount at the airport. Our bartender Victoria was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and attentive and clued us in all the specials. Don’t miss this opportunity before you hit the airport!
I do not write reviews much and this may be my first and my last ever. Yet I need to give it a shout out to our waiter who made our Friday dining experience a blast. It was Friday night (yesterday) and I decided to take the wifey for nice dinner. We decided to hit BJ's that's about 15 miles-drive away from our home. Alas, we arrived there and the restaurant was jammed pack. Well, it was Friday and we got there probably a little after 7ish. We thought it would be a long wait but then the host told us that our table was ready. We were seated in a booth for two and not two minutes after, our waiter approached our table; introduced his name which I didn't get the first time but he spelled it to us "D-E-D-Y." Since it was our first time to BJ's, it took us a little bit time to go through the menu. Our waiter, Dedy came back with glass of water (we skipped the alcohols) and we were still not ready to place our order just yet. He asked if we have any particular categories so he would be able to give any recommendations and my wife who grew up in New Orleans asked how the jambalaya was. While I was craving for some meat pizza but didn't feel of some deep dish pizza. Then, Dedy said "no problem. I could order some thin crust pizza with all meat for you" and he also told my wife that jambalaya was one of his favorite dishes there. We also ordered the chicken potstickers based on his recommendation. You know what? Everything he recommended to us really hit the spot bullseye. Did I mention it was a busy night? We noticed that we're not the only table he waited. He might have had at least 5 other tables next to ours but from start to finish, Dedy was so attentive with whatever requests we had that night. So, for an amazing dinner and excellent service, you deserve my 5-rating, Dedy. Whenever we come back to BJ's soon, we'd definitely request for Dedy as our waiter.
My friend and I ate dinner there last week. Because it is located in a mall, we were not sure about the food. It was surprisingly good. Our server was Justin and he was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. He was very attentive, but not overbearing. My friend and I decided that we would try this place again and hope that we can get Justin as our server. Will recommend to our friends.
Food is good quality in a good quantity. The prime rib was good but with too much fat. The backed potatoe was like any other one, nothing special. It was it tasted like another good baked potato. The asparagus was very good. The taste was excellent. It had just the right hint of spice as to augment the asparagus flavor without overwhelming it, though they were a little thin and chewy. The Dubai chocolate pizookie was an excellent blend of flavorful pistachio, toffee, and chocolate. We enjoyed the 70's music, but it was a little too loud, making conversation a little difficult.
Was cool to go to once for the Spookie Pizookie but don’t think I will be returning Edit: It will not let me reply to the management. But the food did not have much flavor and my spookie pizookie and pizza took a long time to come out. Also it was a struggle to get water refilled and cutlery.
Been here countless of times, and I always find something new to enjoy here. There were times I come here for a date, times I swing by for a beer or two after work and times I come here to strictly eat. Yeah most of the times I arrive there’s an wait but it’s not a problem for me since I have high patience. Laid back place that have bar vibes, their menu consists of many different categories from appetizers, sandwiches, pizzas, pasta and more. Also their have a vast drink menu and offer some of the local breweries. I always have a great time here thanks to their friendly and well trained staffs. Definitely will be back!
Been here three times now. 1st 2 times food and services were great.. today service sketchy at best. Asked for items that never came. Had to ask multiple times for other items. Disappointed on this visit. Came back again to five them another try. Had a new server my appetizers came after the main meal so might as well been desert. My steak was supposed to be med but came as rare. The macaroni is not macaroni. And order a drink part way through the meal and the server forgot about it. When I reminded her about the order she said I'm busy. My reaction was wow not sorry I forgot you but I'm busy. When she brought the drink she apologized and said new and we are busy. I can understand being new to the job .. but lose the attitude. Seems like this place is teying to push me to another restraunt in the area.
The pizza looked rushed. The pizza tasted like it was missing some of its toppings, and rightfully so, it was missing the green bell peppers and half of its cheese. I get that it's half off Mondays, yet that's an odd way of cutting costs. I came all the way from San Francisco (Mission) for BJ's after my movie, and was just disappointed. I should have opened the box when I got it, I just trusted it to be made right. I did take a photo if I'm contacted about my review.. Anyway, the guy who took my order was kind.
Quick trip to the West Coast and after a late flight in my friend decided to stop here for a quick bite right before closing hours. The waiter accommodated us and was knowledgeable about the different selection. I had a mix drink and I was expecting fruit and sweet but It had a little kick also. My food was fresh and tasty with the best crunchy sweet potato fries ever. Wonderful atmosphere, laid back, with great music and spacious seating. I will definitely revisit when I return in this summer.
The food here was rather disappointing, especially for the price. I ordered the cheeseburger, and it came with sad, limp lettuce, flavorless pickles, a rather tough meat patty, and overly greased bun. Even the fries were limp and rather tasteless. Our server was high energy, but everyone seemed rushed and parts of our order were forgotten.
8/31/2025: Downgraded to two stars from three. I like the people that work here. The issue might be with their computers/management. My order was pasta and pizza family meal $45 and a prime rib dinner $38. Here are my issues today: It took an hour for my order to be ready. Half the food was cold. Caesar salad had no dressing. Prime rib tasted rubbery. No au jus or horseradish were included. Pasta was dry. The food that tasted OK were the clam chowder, mash potatoes and pizookie. The rest is subpar. I'm not driving back to pick up the missing items like last time. Skip this BJ's location and go to the San Mateo one instead. That one is much better. Updated review 5/30/2025: Downgraded to three stars. Now I remember why I stopped coming to this BJ's location. There were a few mishaps before this one and I let it slide. This time, my to-go order were missing fries and bacon. I had to go back, after work to fetch my missing items. They don't check the food before it goes out. The saving grace is the people that work here. They are nice people. Some of the food are actually not bad. Management needs to put something in place where the food goes out correctly. Original review: BJ's is good for that after work beer. They have their own brand of beers at $6.75 a pint. The bar area is lively and the food is alright. We started with their tavern cut, brewhouse pizza $16. This was not bad. It is a thin crust pizza with mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage. It is a lot better than their "deep dish" style pizzas, which is not deep enough for me. For our entrees, we got the 15oz prime ribs for $33 each (+$2.50 for loading the potatoes.) It comes with a soup, two sides and a desert. I opted for the clam chowder, house salad and loaded mash potatoes. It tasted fine. It is not HOPR quality nor was I expecting it. As for the fish & chips $21, we noticed they don't use the frozen type. The chef used white pieces of fish and breaded it themselves. The chips would have been better if they used a thicker cut of potatoes. After eating our entrees, the deserts arrived. The bus person accidentally drops a side cup of horseradish and splashes it on my Air Max 90 running club special edition roma greens. Luckily I always buy two pairs so no biggie. We enjoyed our meal regardless. Our waitress was excellent. Good job staff at BJ's.
I placed a family meal order online for pickup. When I got there I had to wait a few minutes for my food which I didn’t mind. But when I got my order in one bag on top of my pizza box I felt something was a little wrong. First, the pizza box on my hands was not that hot. Secondly, I got pasta but also a Pookie with ice cream that was placed in the same bag. I hurried home, which is not that far and of course found out my ice cream was melted so I there it in the freezer. When I opened the pizza box I saw a thrown, and I mean thrown, together pie that was half cooked and half cut. I guess it makes sense that they could not cut the pizza all the way through because the bottom of the pie crust was super soft like it needed more time in the oven. This was very disappointing because I have gotten this before and did not have a terrible experience. The garlic bread bottom looked like what the bottom of my pizza was supposed to look. As you can see one side of the pizza looks terrible. Overall bad experience.
I've been going here for a long time. I remember going here a few times for happy hour after work. This place hasn't changed much. It still has a modern dark kind of vibe to it. Nowadays post covid I mainly order for takeout through the app. The app itself is easy to use, you can order special etc. and be on your way. Picking up is a totally different experience. No matter what time of day you pick up and no matter the size of the order be it just appetizers, dinner, kids meal, or even just a pizzokie. I mean who doesn't crave a pizzokie? My order is never ready when it says it will be. The app even has a tracker so you can see what stage your order is in. You can do curbside pick up, but where is that even at? No signs anywhere. I placed an order yesterday and it was supposed to be ready for pick up at 12:30pm. I was going to do curbside pick up but I didn't want them to have a hard time looking for me since there are no clear pickups for curbside. I called to let them know and the lady said they were packing my order. I walked in, order still not ready. I was at the pick up counter no one was there even after waiting a few minutes. I asked the gentleman in the hostess area where my order was. He tracked it I guess on the computer and said it's ready they are just getting your drinks. I politely asked, what is the pizookie monthly soecial about for $4.95m. He couldn't tell me. He read the sign and acted like it was his first time seeing it. He told me to ask someone when they get to the pick up counter. I waited, I look on the app it says ready for pick up. A lady comes out with someone else's order and says let me check. She comes out and says we're waiting for your fries it will take 5 minutes and disappears. Didn't even give the order she brought out to the person waiting. A third person comes out and I'm telling this person what is going on, the frustration of being told so many different answers when the app says it's ready. I know they say it's ready on the app just to make it seem like they are always on time. The third person brings my food unapologetic for the wait or anything. Sorry for the long rant but this is how it is everytime and I think it needs to be addressed. I keep coming back hoping this time it will be better but they just let me down each time. BJ's you need to re-train your employees on customer service and what promos or specials you have. This seems like a place that just doesn't care.
12/31/25 SERVICE: We made a reservation at 7:15pm and came around 7:25ish. We went up to the hostess and told her we had a reservation and she proceeded to roll her eyes at us and gave us attitude. We were thrown off by it but shrugged it off since people are allowed to have bad days. We then realized that that wasn't the case because everytime she walked passed us, she was super smiley, which was a bit odd. Not only that but the whole dinner took 2 hours, for 2 burgers with fries, a clam chowder, and a pazookie. Our waitress didn't not offer a bag, so we waited in the pick-up line to ask for a bag, but then the same hostess from earlier told the person waiting behind us to cut in front of us to be serviced first. Overall, really weird vibes from the hostess that day and we didn't appreciate the attitude. We will probably come less and just do pick-up to avoid the unnecessary attitude.
I would give less than one star if possible. Traveling from out of town and ran in real quick just to get a kids meal for my son. It was literally just chicken tenders and fries. We waited for over 15 minutes to find that they just put chicken tenders and no fries in the package. While we were waiting, I use the restroom. They were absolutely disgusting. The floors were sticky. There was hair all over the counters. I really don’t even feel comfortable eating the food. Disgusting.
I brought my travel team here for a relaxed dinner after a particularly long day, we walked in and were told to self seat, fine… the only table available had not been cleared, so we cleared it ourselves. Then we waited about 20 minutes and had to actually get someone to take a drink order, we waited another 10 or 15 for meal orders. 40 minutes later in drops and drabs our food came out room temperature. Steak room temperature isn’t acceptable in any circumstances. When I mentioned it, I was told they would reheat the same steak so I asked for a manager at this point, he was courteous and honest about the situation but the majority of us decided to cut out lost 90 minutes and just get fast food for dinner at the hotel. Very unfortunate.
AWFUL EXPERIENCE. We were given the choice of booth or high top, when we went to the high top it was still full of the previous guests. No menus, no cutlery, we sat for a good 20-30 min before being acknowledged and drink orders taken, finally clearing away the old dishes. We then ordered and the apps came out, the experience looked like it had turned around until the entrees came out.. 3 Ribeyes come out ice cold and dry, overcooked, with cold fries. Tacos - cold. Terrible. Took 20 minutes more to sort it out to be told the system was too “confused” by the amount of people at our table. This was truly one of the worst dinning experiences I’ve ever had.
